Teenage Parents

When we talk about being parents, there are specific words that will immediately enter our mind. These words are responsible and mature enough to face all the responsibilities and life challenges. But what if the said parents are are only teenagers? Are they going to be a mature and responsible parents for their own children? It’s confusing, right? But these situations are are very common these days. Many of our teenagers nowadays are becoming parents at their very young age. Reasons for these are love at the wrong time, carelessness, curiosity, and lack of education and guidance. It is very hard for teenagers that are in these situations to handle the responsibility of being a parents . Aside from being so young, there’s this very difficult question being thrown to them. This question is, “how can they take care of their young ones when they are also young?”

And because of confusements and worries that their parents will be very disappointed to them, some of these teenagers would engage themeselves into drugs, alcohol and much even worst to suicide or abortion. It’s very tragic but it’s the reality happening not just in our country but all over the world how can we stop this? What can we do about this? We are very familiar with the line that goes, “the youth are the hope of our country.” But how can we make this statement posible? We all know that we can never scape the reality. That is why we should make a change. We can’t correct  our cmistakes with another mistake. so let’s start in educating our young parents for them to perform their responsibilities for the good of their own children.

Although we can’t stop premarital sex, we can still make the most out of it. We must encourage our youth in school, sports, and in other educational activities. Educate them about premarital sex, abortion and parenthood. To help them get ready  to face problems such as being a young parents. And with all these efforts we can lessen the number of teenagers engaging in premarital sex, out-of-school youth and we can also fight poverty and crisis. And for those who are already parents, we can make them more responsible and mature enough to take care of their own children and family.

Being a parent is a gift from God, but we parents should also be a grea gift to our children. Because it is really a wonderful feeling to hear our children saying, “Mom, Dad you’re the best parents in the world. We love you!”
