Its about those teenagers who are on the cutting “trend”.

The red call for help

First step shall be taken. First problem shall arise. First misunderstanding, which break you inside.

Its not the first time, a teenage phenomenon ends like an suppressing. The new cutting “trend” are step by step got quite well-known among young ones. Cutting happens because of an suppressing off sorrow. They can cut with almost everything, that are sharp. It can be anything from razor blades, to broken cd’s. The whole cutting thing is about, to sit and carve in your skin, to the blood dripping runs down. Young ones who have been cutting, states themselves that it is “like an other short cut.” Its and other way to get away with your frustrations and concerns.

The “trend” to cut, started in the 90’s. It comes from girls, who are feeling bad, haves sweetheart sorrow or are feeling excluded and dont have someone to talk with. Then they starts cutting in they’re arms, legs, stomach and many other places. Many are cutting themselves to get attention, but most of them is cutting as a shout for help.

There are also a few boys, who does it, but its in most cases girls. Some are also getting victimized after they have been cutting. The victimizer use the “shout for help” as a means to bring down the victim. They are cutting in themselves of many reasons. psychologist Birgitte Korsgaard says that the young ones generally are cutting because of shallow self-esteem. The ‘cutter’ needs someone to talk with about the problem.

Many young ones are thinking about, what others expect of you, and from there if you ever could live up to those expectations. Though have cutting nothing to do with suicide.

When you cut in yourself, you’ll get a quick feeling of freedom, and that all your worries disappears. Of course the feeling of guilt comes after. When you regret. You’ll also regret because you are getting scars and wounds, which you wanna hide for others – Especially for you’re parents. To hide the scars and wounds, you wear long-sleeved jerseys and also “sweat bracelets” or big bracelets, which stays tight to the skin. Even in the sommer, they wear that kind of clothes.

Who can take the blame for cutting? The cutters means that its they’re own fault, but if it come so far, that the person who carve in himself, loses so much blood and gets on the hospital, or in worst case dies, then will the parents or friends get the feeling of guilt. They feel that they should have observed, that they’re child where wearing long-sleeved jerseys in the summer and wore “sweat bracelets” all the time, and then they have the feeling of guilt.
