The Ultimate Price
An early creative writing piece written in the summer of 2008.
When you enter inside the building of a controversial group for the very first time in your life, your response is like “Wow, it’s not that bad.” Here’s my challenge to you: try obeying your leader and following his rules 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Live under his roof, so to speak. If all of these apply to you as of now, then you’re at risk for paying your life with these items that you or no one will never get back: your years and your life at an Ultimate Price.
There are rules that you don’t like at first but have to follow them such as these things when you and your family join any cultic group:
- You are the head of your own family and have the divine right to make decision. Your wife and children should obey you.
- Your wife and daughter(s) should be submissive 24/7 without having a job and not gaining independence.
- Your son should be trained as a ruler just like you.
- If your wife and/or your children disobey you, commit unthinkable crimes to them. If they survive, they will know who’s the boss. If they die, then it’s their fault regardless, not yours. They should not rule over you at all times.
- Commit serious and heinous crimes against people outside your group such as former members of your group, visitors, and other people of different races or different ethnicity under the order(s) of your charismatic leader.
- Remember, this all in the name of the Almighty creator, or God for that matter.
- Once you come in, you cannot leave under any circumstances. Not one.
- Remember that your leader has the control of the organization at all times.
- If there is any suicidal events that will be taking place very soon (Jonestown, anyone?), be prepared.
If you leave that type of cultic religious group after many, many years (Example: 25 years), all of a sudden you will develop mixed feelings about you and your relationship with your former leader. As soon as you start asking questions about your leader’s teachings after many years of silence, everyone know that you are waking up. You will feel a sense of relief, fear, loneliness, pain, and suffering.
After leaving, you will end up thinking that you will be killed without shame or guilt. At times like this, you feel that you’re ready to leave this Earth for good. It’s not a pretty sight, you know. Go ask any former cult member about the group that you were in and express what is on your mind face to face, privately. Be warned that a cult member of your group will either split you and your family in two. He or she is out to get you. If this happens, then you and your family have paid your life with a price: The Ultimate Price with your life.
