Youth and Old Age

Old age is a totally different matter. An old person no longer possesses the vigor and energy of youth. Physical exertion is out of the question. Even climbing the stairs can be impossible. Wrinkles and age – spots ravage the once – smooth skin. The glow of life is gone and the body is no longer attractive. In fact it can even appear repulsive..

Youth and Old Age

Everything that begins will surely end. That is an indisputable fact of living. All of us were born into our bodies some time ago, and some time ahead our bodies will surely die. In between birth and dead we go through many periods where our bodies change slowly but imperceptibly. Youth and old age are but two of the distinct periods that many of us go through, the exceptions being the ones who die before they can complete the normal course of living.

The Differences between Youth and Old Age

The differences between youth and old age are obvious. A young man is usually full of vigor and energy. His body is in its prime and he can do anything that requires physical strength easily. Usually youth is the time when young men and women look the most attractive. Their skin shines with the glow of life. They are drawn to each other and eventually pair off to produce children of their own. They are full of hope for a wonderful life together. They laugh, song and seek all sort of things to enjoy themselves with.

A touching article. I have seen how much my grandmother, before she passed away at the age of 96 suffer.

Mr Ghaz it is unfortunate that some of us end up senile but not all and old age has beauty in its own way sometimes. Those that are fortunate enough can continue on into old age with some of the vigor of the younger person. It totally depends on the person and their attitude. My mom at 88 is still a laughing, active woman and I hope to follow in her footsteps if God allows. Excellent article , your right for some its not such an easy path.

My gran is in a nursing home but fortunately she has all her faculties, many in there don’t and are very ill. It seems such an indignity for them to basically wait to die as they are. This is an excellent article which tells it like it is, as my gran says, there is no fun in growing so old …we need to value what we have while we have it.

Hopefully old age is not like that for everyone. I know that mobility can be difficult but I see lots of lod people who laugh a lot, especially in our group.
My parents are in their late eighties but they still enjoy life and certainly still have all their faculties. I feel so sorry for those who find old age difficult to cope with. A good and thought provoking article.

When I look in the mirror I don’t see the same person I saw years ago, but my grandchildren, bless their hearts, don’t see me as an old woman. They only see me as “Grammy.” They don’t care if I have a new wrinkle, or if my hair is graying. They don’t care if I have some saggy skin under my arms. They love me unconditionally, and that is what makes being a grandparent so wonderful.

What a sad story! Perhaps if your grandmother was acknowledged for things that she does, she will realize she is not useless. Or she could be asked for help.

Excellent article. Who will care of us?, will put diapers? There will be a person to take care of us?
