For Maria, not her real name, she would rather die than to stay one day more on earth with her agony.

Maria lost her father in a car accident when she was 3 years old. Because her mother was young and unable to support her, she was left to the care of her grandparents until she reached the age of twelve only to be ravaged and abused by her very own grandfather. Maria was raped in multiple occasions, day and night, on her tender age. Unable to bare the pains and trauma, she sought refuge to her uncle, on her mother’s side. At first, she was a little bit relieved of the fears hounding on her frail mind only to suffer the same fate she had been with her uncle too. Both her uncle and two elder cousins took turns in taking advantage of her innocence. Day and night, she screamed in pain and agony but she found no one to turn to but unwillingly endured the daily molestations and violence committed against her person and honor.

One day Maria found herself loitering in front of the Calvary Chapel, where there, she met a missionary couple from California, who are conducting their mission in the Philippines for abandoned and abused children; Maria’s pain only stopped when she was admitted in the orphanage under the care of Pastor Joe Rosmarino and his wife Billie.

Billie, was a former manager of a big department store in California, while Joe was a private employee. Bothered by their concern to help abandoned and abused street children, the couple decided to leave a good life in America and settled in the Philippines to be as missionaries. At first, they started their missionary work from a rented house in one of the villages when two abandoned children were entrusted to them by the village authorities. From there, the number of their orphans rose to 25 and in a short period of time from 1993, it reach to 400.Providing roof and shelter to the abused children in the society, the couples rely only from their combined meager pensions and donations from close friends in America and some local non-governmental organizations.

Image via Wikipedia

For Maria, she found a second home with Joe and Billie and not an orphanage. From them, she experienced the true love and care she had long been dreaming. The anger that used to reign in her heart was replaced by the love showered upon by her missionary parents. After 10 years of staying in the orphanage, Maria was able to finish her tertiary education with flying color, having graduated as “suma cum laude” among the graduates. Now, Maria is pursuing her masters’ studies, helping Joe and Billie, to put up an elementary school that would provide basic education for the abandoned and abused children in the city. For Maria, though she was denied the love and care by her natural parents; however, miraculously, she was able to enjoy it from people whom she did not expect at all; a blessing she did not expect to happen to her life. With what she had been into, Maria is now a part of a more noble endeavor of providing shelter to children like her before. While for Joe and Billie, every soul being entrusted into them is a glory and joy of serving God. With 400 children, the orphanage keeps on growing, an indication that God’s hand is near to those who are crying in silence.

What happens to the kids when nobody cares about them?

The little 7 year old boy looked up at me with tears in his big brown eyes and asked, “Why doesn’t anyone want us?” He and his little brother and sister are the children of meth addicts. The mother left each of them in the hospital when they were born. She couldn’t wait to get back to getting high. The father tried to take care of them but eventually took them to their grandmother to raise.

Being a meth addict is a 24 hr a day obsession, there is no room in your life for anything else. How do you explain drug addiction to a 7 year old who’s parents have abandoned him? I don’t have the answers to give this precious little child who is so afraid because his grandma is sick and there is no one else to take care of them. These kids will be separated from each other and placed in a broken foster care system if grandma doesn’t get well soon. They have good reason to be afraid.

Methamphetamine addiction is a epidemic in our nation. there are more and more children being tossed aside by addicted parents. The foster care system is broken and can’t handle the influx. Grandparents are raising these kids and having to fight with a system that tries to make it as hard as possible for them. They usually have to fight the state in court to gain custody of their own grand children. The whole process is insane. We have a generation of kids that have no security because of their addicted parents and a ridiculous system that does not work in the best interest of the children. With government trying to take over more and more of our lives this can only get worse.

Image via Wikipedia

I just want to salute those grandmas and grandpas that have stepped up to the plate for these kids and have fought the system to be able to provide safe loving homes for their grandchildren.

Image via Wikipedia

I don’t have the answers to the drug problem in this country but I can and I do pray for these children who are the innocent victims of this travesty.

The murder rate of infants and children is rapidly increasing. Over 600 little souls are taken each year. We need to find out what we can do to help.

I was watching this show on real tv last night about infants that are abandoned at birth. I have to say it was just about the sadest thing that I have ever seen. Just to know what links people will go to, I have to say it brought tears to my eyes. What ever happened to unconditional love for a child. It is sickening what this world is coming to.

One story included a mother who hid her pregnancy, gave birth at a hotel, put her baby in the floorboard of her car and went to work leaving her newborn in the car to die. She then discarded him/her in a trash bag and put him/her in the dumpster.

Another incident involved a young girl in college, who gave birth in her dorm and threw her baby out in the trash, luckily she was found by a fellow student and fortunately did not suffer from hypothermia. However, here is the crazy part, the mother did not go to jail and she was able to get her daughter that she almost killed back. I know that people make mistakes but come on, there are some mistakes you are not allowed to make and that, I believe is one of them.

The last one was about a mother who gave birth in a bathroom and drowned her newborn son.

I have to say this just sickens me so much. I decided to do some research on the subject and learned that over 600 babies a year are abandoned and the number is growing. Texas came up with a new law in 1999 allowing mothers to bring their new babies to a safe haven like a police station, fire station, or hospitals, and leave them there without any questions asked. This was done in hopes to decrease the number of infant deaths and I think that it is working.

I would really like to hear opinions on this issue. Do you agree with the new law? or do you think that there could be better measures to take?

Not only are infants murdered but the death rate of children is increasing as well, most of these little ones are murdered by non other then the ones who are suppose to love them. The video below is very extreme.

Below are my beautiful babies and I love them with all my heart. As a mother I could never imagine doing anything to hurt them. I just do not see how people can be so cold. As a parent we are suppose to protect our children.

I just do not understand why children and babies who are the most vunerable and innocent people alive could be so bruteally treated and murdered. I have to say that my eyes have been opened and I want to do all that I can to help. If you want to help go to www.abandonedchildren.com and see what you can do. These tiny individuals need you.
