The principle of accountability is an ancient one, originated by God Himself. It basically means one has to answer to another. Who should answer to whom and why, is always a source of contention for many. The result of this contentious attitude is the lack of peace, joy, and contentment in our relationships with one another and with our creator. Below are five reasons why we must learn to escape the consequences and turmoil associated with living our lives as though we are accountable to no one.

Thoughts on some meanings.

A former tutor, after school teacher and P.E. instructor discusses a concept that he feels has been overlooked in education – students being accountable for their learning and performance in the classroom.

We are accountable to one another. We are created and live in a society. We are answerable for resulting consequences.

Corruption has ‘toxic effects’ on the society by hindering its economic activities. It widens the gap between the poor and the rich. It makes the organizations inefficient and magnifies the cost of carrying out any business.

As adults, we are free to make our own choices. We are responsible for our own actions and must face the consequences that come along with those actions. Why don’t some people get that?

Are we contributing to the many horrors, that are accuring around us! Are we teaching our children to be responsible, and accountable for their actions; or are we sitting by say, "oh my child would never do that"?
