Adversity as an Opportunity for Healing

by Tammie Bowden in Spirituality, November 13, 2009

The soul sees opportunities for healing, expansion and enlightenment in the adversity that we encounter in our lives as it is the way in which we face and handle our predicaments, dilemmas and difficulties that defines who we are and why we are here. These situations also shape what we are trying to achieve through physical existence as our egos judge our worth by status, security and material achievement where the soul gives clues to individual mettle through tasks and challenges.

Triumph Over Adversity

As the senior staff writer for The Gates of Seminole Magazine (a Central Florida magazine), one of my jobs is to write my publisher’s notes for her (evidently, it’s the nature of this business to ghost write even more than the articles you’re assigned, oh well, money’s money). My publisher is a very accomplished woman in a variety of areas, but her chief talent is optimism. I swear, I don’t think Ashly has a negative bone in her body. This upcoming edition of the magazine, Ashly wanted me to write about concurring adversity. It’s a simple, feel-good piece that is supposed to work as a giant inspirational quote to those who are down in the dumps but still live in multi-million dollar homes. It just goes to show you, money cannot buy strength. Even millionaires need a pick-me-up. Here is the article, which she liked so much that she is now having me write a NEW publisher’s letter and giving this one it’s own special section. I hope you enjoy it.

Overcoming the Sting of Adversity

The human mind has a funny way of coping with adverse situations. Often times when an occurrence transpires, we have a strong tendency to become defensive. We automatically think that we are under attack, and someone is out “to get us”. When in all actuality, there is more to the cause and effect then we can truly grasp.
