I dedicate this poem to the people of the world, especially the leadership of Africa and those that have a heart of concern for the continent so beautiful yet a disgrace to many. A shame to those who have gone before us.

Most of the African countries flooded with poverty have the same kind of system of education. Something worth noting. The setup of Primary school, Secondary school and then the Tertiary education which could be University education or College education is common. After a deep analysis of this setup, It is clear that this kind of system is not only uniform in most of the African countries but it has been used for decades without being revised to suit the demands of the new generation of children walking through it.

The idea of indentured servitude was used when Virginia was first founded. However, this practice eventually got replaced by slavery because of the mortality rate, economical usage, and the rising population of free men.

Unemployment has been a perennial problem in Nigeria and Africa at large. Every regime promises to address the issue of unemployment but in the end we see that the problem keeps on increasing.

Poverty is a common aspect of everyday life in many African countries. It is not a new phenomenon but dates back to colonial times. Today nearly three billion people all over the world go without the most basic necessities – food, clean water, shelter, healthcare and education. This means that every day half the people of the world are struggling to survive let alone lead fulfilling lives. In Africa today, one child dies every three seconds because of the basic lack of safe water, healthcare, shelter or food the things we take for granted in the west.

Every year we get the same adverts on the television and in the papers asking us to give money to feed people in Africa during times of famine, provide them with refugee camps and help the poor get through the difficult periods. We see the refugees on the news and the pictures of starving children and hear how these wonderful organisations are helping. But it never seems to get any better. Obviously, giving donations is great; there is no other solution to help people live through these times of crisis.
