Eastern State Penitentiary (ESP) is a former American prison in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is located on Fairmount Avenue between 2027 Corinthian Avenue and 22 Street North in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia, and was in operation from 1829 until 1971. Penitentiary sophisticated revolutionary pioneer separated before incarceration in the prison of Walnut Street, which has emphasized the principles of reform rather than punishment. The Notorious criminals like bank robber Willie Sutton and Al Capone, was held in the Wagon Wheel a unique design. When the building was built, was the largest public facility and most expensive ever built, quickly becoming a model for more than 300 prisons around the world.

The prison is now a National Historic Landmark US,, which is open to the public as a museum for tours seven days a week year round, from 10:00 to 5:00.
