Osama bin Laden was the most wanted terrorist in the world. A documentary tries to show how the CIA and FBI Al-Qaeda chief for many years monitored - and why 9/11 does not prevent.

U.S. President Barack Obama announced on 2 The May 2011 death of Osama Bin Laden (center). The slogan “dead or alive” was his predecessor George W. Bush after 11 released september

“We would have had to do it sooner.” This key sentence, said at the end of the spectacular documentary “The Hunt for Bin Laden” of current U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, summarizes the problem. Because it goes to the eyewitness, Osama bin Laden would not have to be killed only a year ago – but years before.

For the documentary filmmaker Leslie Woodhead brings high-profile witnesses such as former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, Bill Clinton (and short-George W. Bush’s) security advisor Richard Clarke and Leon Panetta just before the cameras. He promises the story of the “longest and most expensive manhunt in American history” and that “from an insider perspective.” Woodhead and supplies.

The Road to 9/11

First, he traces the rise of Bin Laden from Saudi millionaire son of Al-Qaeda chief and most wanted terrorist in the world. And then, slowly, unfolding before the eyes of the viewers diabolical plan.

The stations are well known: the failed UN operation in Mogadishu 1993rd The attack on the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania 1998th The attack on the “USS Cole” in 2000. Except that they are related, we see it today. “Bin Laden, the U.S. has declared war in 1996,” it says at one point.

In all these crimes al-Qaeda is involved. And many know the secret. To 1996, bin Laden released as an “indictment” against America, is founded a special unit of the CIA and FBI to arrest him and put on trial. Three years later, President Clinton signs a document in which it is the first time, bin Laden should be taken and if necessary killed.

Their messages are hate and violence. On the internet terrorists of al-Qaeda call for a holy war against other religions.

Now it is the U.S. government specialists managed to hack sites of the terror network.

The U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said before Special Forces in Tampa (Florida, U.S.), such as the U.S. television network ABC and CBS as well as the daily newspaper “USA Today” reported unanimously.

CYBER SHOCK against al-Qaida

The trick of U.S. specialists: They pecked sides of the terror network in Yemen and shared content. Texts, “boasted of the killing of Americans,” have been replaced with text that highlighted the deaths of Muslim civilians in attacks by al-Qaeda.

The aim of the hack attack: to prevent the terrorist network to recruit new members through the Internet.

Clinton said that specialists around the world would now worked to discredit the propaganda of the extremists by skillful maneuvering. The experts ruled Urdu, Arabic and Somali. The group surf the Internet and use social media and other ways to make the internal contradictions of Al Qaeda and clearly point out the brutal attacks against Muslim civilians.

The tactic is to appear. Clinton said that the extremists would now “urge their supporters not to believe everything they read on the Internet.”

Shakil Afridi convicted of treason.

A Pakistani court has sentenced a doctor Shakil Afridi according to media reports of high treason to 33 years in prison and a fine in the amount of 320,000 rupees (2,700 €). The doctors are accused of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency in the search for Al Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden to support.

Afridi is alleged to have been procured under the pretext of a vaccination campaign access to the building in the garrison city of Abbottabad and information passed to the Americans to have. The trial was conducted on the basis of draconian laws for the semi-autonomous tribal areas. This move originated from the British colonial period, allowing among other things, guilt by association. Under this law, the representative of the central government and administrative head of the Khyber district is also the judge.

No appeal is possible

Since Afridi come from the Khyber district, you have him where they can make the process according to these laws, said the administration officials. Afridi could not go against the judgment on appeal. Only the governor of the neighboring province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – in its legal jurisdiction over tribal lands fall – or the President might adopt the punishment.

The judgment is a further burden on the already ailing relations between Pakistan and the United States dar.

Already more than 50,000 reports of cyber intrusion or sabotage efforts since October 2011

Terrorist group al-Qaeda is now changing strategy in attacking U.S. interests and facilities to attempt to wage war in cyberspace (cyber-warfare). In a video recording, a member of al-Qaeda’s campaign called the “electronic jihad” over the U.S..

According to ABC News, the video footage was obtained by the Federal Investigation Agency (FBI) last year. But the new records published Tuesday by the Senate Committee for Homeland Security Affairs and Administration.

In the video, a member of al-Qaeda called for the followers of the group’s launch cyber attacks on U.S. computer networks, both public and vital infrastructure including power grids.

“This is the clearest evidence of what we have seen that al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups to attack vital systems in the U.S. cyber infrastructure,” said Chairman of the Senate Committee for Homeland Security Affairs and Administration, Senator Joe Lieberman.

“Video is problematic because it calls for the followers of al-Qaeda to launch cyber attacks on America,” said a member of the Committee, Senator Susan Collins. “It is clear that al-Qaeda were seeking all means to continue to harass us and it became evidence that the vital infrastructure was targeted,” said Collins.

Al-Qaeda, which is responsible for the tragedy of 11 September 2001, still continue to operate despite a number of their leaders have been jailed and killed, including Osama bin Laden. Although the intensity of attacks is reduced, they still made busy by U.S. intelligence and security forces and foreign countries.

The U.S. government, through the Department of Homeland Security, has received over 50,000 reports cyber intrusions or efforts to sabotage since October 2011. The number of reports increased 10,000 from the same period the previous year.

Bush's Best Friend: Osama bin Laden?

No, that’s not a misprint and I’m not smoking anything illegal. In many ways the President and Osama are and have been quite dependent on each other and both of them have there own reasons for sending each other a special thank you card.

Let’s take a look from the President’s point of view.

When the President first came to office, he was not very well liked as the latest White House resident. He had only been confirmed as the President due to a decision in the election by the Supreme Court. (In fact, since that Supreme Court decision, the vote count after-the-fact has shown that Al Gore may in fact have actually won the election.) Unfortunately, after Gore had officially conceded the election, there was no going back.

In addition, after the election, Bush was so anti-Clinton, he ordered any projects that were started by the Clinton administration to either be cancelled or to be given the lowest priority. One of Clinton’s top projects at the time was the continued pursuit of Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda. However, Condoleezza Rice, Bush’s then National Security Advisor was told to not continue with that pursuit. If not for the 9/11 disaster in 2001, it’s hard to imagine exactly what kind of presidency George W would have had. In fact, most political historians seem to agree that without the terrorist attacks on the twin towers and the Pentagon, the eventual “War President”, George W Bush would most likely have been a one-term president, as was his father.

After 9/11, President Bush’s popularity went to the highest level of his two terms. At that time, he and Rudy Giuliani were probably the most popular and recognized individuals in America and most of the free world. As horrible as 9/11 was, one would have to admit that both George W and Rudy owe their initial popularity and current notoriety to Osama bin Laden’s actions.

One project that was a focus of George W, even before he became president, was the removal of the Iraq regime of Saddam Hussein. There have been a number of articles about how George W wanted to finish the job where his father left off by getting rid of Saddam. In one such interview, George W. is quoted as saying that if he ever had the “political capital” and popularity as his father had during the previous Gulf War, he would not waste it as George H.W. had done. George W. said he would spend it by going straight into Baghdad and rid the world of Saddam. Unfortunately, for a short time, Osama’s strike on American soil gave George W. that “political capital”. After the attack and a successful series of strikes on al Qaeda in Afghanistan (where he should have stayed.) George W. spent his remaining “capital” in selling the country, the congress and other countries on an illegal war in Iraq. To sum it up, Osama made George W. popular for just enough time that he could fulfill his goal of going after Saddam. There aren’t many single individuals in the world who could cause the world’s most powerful country to go to war, so I guess one could say Osama’s been a pretty good supporter of George W. Bush.

Now from Osama’s point of view, George W. Bush has been a gift from Allah. Osama can thank George W. for two major decisions that have allowed Osama to stay alive and to become one of the most famous and effective Muslim marketing and recruiting individuals in history.

First, by initially only sending a small strike force into Afghanistan, this allowed Osama to escape to the Tora Bora mountain region and to then slip away from the American troops trying to corner him in Afghanistan. George W. then decided to change his focus from finding Osama to going after Saddam. He subsequently also diverted the American military to concentrating on Iraq instead of where al Qaeda and Osama were headquartered in Afghanistan. This fulfilled two of Osama’s most critical requirements. It immediately took the focus off of the US military for finding Osama, which allowed him to stay alive and escape into the mountain regions of bordering Pakistan. It also gave Osama the greatest recruitment tool a radical Muslim could wish for at just the right time.

Osama had previously warned the Muslim world that the US would eventually use its military power to attack and occupy a Muslim country and that the US would then station military troops on sacred Muslim territory. (Remember, one of the reasons that Osama attacked America at home was because the US Military had stationed troops on sacred Muslim grounds in Saudi Arabia during the original Gulf War.) By attacking and occupying Iraq, President Bush confirmed Osama’s predictions which raised the aura of Osama even higher in the view of devout Muslims around the world. Since 2001, the US military has done a good job of dealing heavy blows to Osama’s radical al Qaeda military organization. But George W. has personally done more to promote Osama’s global radical Muslim marketing and recruiting efforts than any program or person in the world.

Actually, when you look at it from either the President or Osama’s point of view, they have been more than best friends. Their combined personal goals could only been achieved by the direct actions of both individuals.

Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula is the top security threat to the United States and the world.

Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula is the top security threat to the United States and the bomb maker thought to have created at least two non-metallic explosive devices must be killed to safeguard US national security, a top senator said on Sunday.

“I am hopeful that we will be able to, candidly, kill this bomb maker and kill some of these other associates, because there is a dangerous process in play at the present time,” Senator Dianne Feinstein, chairwoman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, told “Fox News Sunday.”

The bombs, intended to be smuggled aboard an aircraft undetected and then detonated, bear the forensic signature of suspected al-Qaeda bomb maker Ibrahim Hassan al-Asiri, who is believed to be hiding in Yemen, officials have said. They said a bomb obtained in a recent intelligence operation appeared to be an upgraded version of the so-called “underwear bomb” that failed to bring down a passenger jet over Detroit on Christmas Day 2009.

A bomber from the al-Qaeda affiliate in Yemen sent to blow up a US-bound airliner last month was actually a double agent who infiltrated the group and volunteered for the suicide mission, intelligence agency officials have confirmed.

Saudi Arabia’s intelligence agency, working with British intelligence and the CIA, placed the operative inside al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, or AQAP, with the goal of convincing his handlers to give him a new type of non-metallic bomb for the mission, officials said. Western intelligence agencies have identified AQAP as among the most dangerous and determined al-Qaeda affiliates in the world, dedicated in part to attacks on the West.

The double agent arranged instead to deliver the device to US and other intelligence authorities waiting outside Yemen, the officials said. The main charge was a high-grade military explosive that “undoubtedly would have brought down an aircraft,” the New York Times reported, citing a senior US official.

Feinstein said a leak early last week on the operation to the Associated Press “is very serious.” “The leak did endanger sources and methods, and the leak I think has to be prosecuted.”

” … It gives a tip off to AQAP to be more careful about who they use as their couriers, as their bombers. … Criminal charges will go to the Department of Justice.”

Represenatative Peter King, chairman of the House of Representatives Homeland Security Committee, told CNN’s “State of the Union” the premature leak of the operation to the AP was criminal and damaging.

“The FBI has to do a full and complete investigation because this really is criminal in the literal sense of the word to leak out this type of sensitive, classified information on really almost unparalleled penetration of the enemy,” King said. “This was more secret than any operation I’m familiar with, even more secret than (the assassination of Osama) bin Laden.”

Yet “the Associated Press apparently had the entire story.” The leak put lives at risk and the operation had to be cut short, King said. “It sends a signal to countries willing to work with us that we can’t be trusted to keep a secret if in fact we are the ones who leaked it out.” “I think there was a bit of premature chest-thumping in this whole thing,” Representative Mike Rogers, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, told CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

“No national security operation ever should be used for a headline under any circumstances,” suggesting someone with ties to the intelligence community had sought political gain from the operation. Feinstein was asked if current screening technology would necessarily identify this kind of bomb on an airline passenger.

“For this particular material,” she said, “candidly, no.”

“I think Americans have to understand that this particular kind of explosive, non-metallic, is not easily detectable.” Consequently the flying public is going to have to tolerate more invasive searches, she said. “The American public has not been terribly sympathetic” to this, she said, but “it’s very important that TSA (the Transportation Security Administration)keeps up its efforts.”
