The Emergence of Behaviorism in America.

The Emergence of Behaviorism in America

As a result of the conjunction of a number of events in the early 20th century, behaviorism gradually emerged as the dominant school in American psychology. First among these was the increasing skepticism with which many viewed the concept of consciousness: although still considered to be the essential element separating psychology from physiology, its subjective nature and the unreliable introspective method it seemed to require, troubled many. William James’ 1904 Journal of Philosophy… article “Does Consciousness Exist?”, laid out the worries explicitly.

Second was the gradual rise of a rigorous animal psychology. In addition to Edward Lee Thorndike’s work with cats in puzzle boxes in 1898, the start of research in which rats learn to navigate mazes was begun by Willard Small (1900, 1901 in American Journal of Psychology). Robert M. Yerkes’s 1905 Journal of Philosophy… article “Animal Psychology and the Criteria of the Psychic” raised the general question of when one is entitled to attribute consciousness to an organism. The following few years saw the emergence of John Broadus Watson (1878–1959) as a major player, publishing his dissertation on the relation between neurological development and learning in the white rat (1907, Psychological Review Monograph Supplement; Carr & Watson, 1908, J. Comparative Neurology & Psychology). Another important rat study was published by Henry H. Donaldson (1908, J. Comparative Neurology & Psychology). The year 1909 saw the first English-language account of Ivan Pavlov’s studies of conditioning in dogs (Yerkes & Morgulis, 1909, Psychological Bulletin).

A third factor was the rise of Watson to a position of significant power within the psychological community. In 1908, Watson was offered a junior position at Johns Hopkins by James Mark Baldwin. In addition to heading the Johns Hopkins department, Baldwin was the editor of the influential journals, Psychological Review and Psychological Bulletin. Only months after Watson’s arrival, Baldwin was forced to resign his professorship due to scandal. Watson was suddenly made head of the department and editor of Baldwin’s journals. He resolved to use these powerful tools to revolutionize psychology in the image of his own research. In 1913 he published in Psychological Review the article that is often called the “manifesto” of the behaviorist movement, “Psychology as the Behaviorist Views It.” There he argued that psychology “is a purely objective experimental branch of natural science”, “introspection forms no essential part of its methods…” and “The behaviorist… recognizes no dividing line between man and brute”. The following year, 1914, his first textbook, Behavior went to press. Although behaviorism took some time to be accepted as a comprehensive approach (see Samelson, 1981), (in no small part because of the intervention of World War I), by the 1920s Watson’s revolution was well underway. The central tenet of early behaviorism was that psychology should be a science of behavior, not of the mind, and rejected internal mental states such as beliefs, desires, or goals. Watson himself, however, was forced out of Johns Hopkins by scandal in 1920. Although he continued to publish during the 1920s, he eventually moved on to a career in advertising (see Coon, 1994).

Among the behaviorists who continued on, there were a number of disagreements about the best way to proceed. Neo-behaviorists such as Edward C. Tolman, Edwin Guthrie, Clark L. Hull, and B. F. Skinner debated issues such as (1) whether to reformulate the traditional psychological vocabulary in behavioral terms or discard it in favor of a wholly new scheme, (2) whether learning takes place all at once or gradually, (3) whether biological drives should be included in the new science in order to provide a “motivation” for behavior, and (4) to what degree any theoretical framework is required over and above the measured effects of reinforcement and punishment on learning. By the late 1950s, Skinner’s formulation had become dominant, and it remains a part of the modern discipline under the rubric of Behavior Analysis.

Behaviorism was the ascendant experimental model for research in psychology for much of the 20th century, largely due to the creation and successful application (not least of which in advertising) of conditioning theories as scientific models of human behaviour.

Essay about my grandfathers American Legacy.

It seems that the one aspect of American history that is overlooked by most Americans is how young our nation truly is. Our nation has a tenth of the history of that of other nations in the world, but in the time that we have had we have solved more social and governmental issues than any other. Our institutions are a reflection of our ingenuity, and our society an image of the true pursuit of happiness. The greatness of our nation is found most honestly in the diligence and foresight of its citizens. It is because of this that the greatest American legacies are those of the people.

I set out to interview my grandfather about World War II, but found that I was asking the wrong questions. It wasn’t World War II that he remembered, or the Vietnam War, or Watergate, or the civil rights movement that he remembered the most. He was only in the third grade during the time of World War II, and an impartial college student during the Vietnam War. It wasn’t until he began telling me about his life that I realized what I should write my essay on. It is the truest of all American legacies. It is the story of American opportunity.

My grandfather’s story is one that embodies many like it. He was born into modest conditions. His family lived first in Oklahoma where he was born, and then soon afterward moved to southern Illinois. He spent most of his childhood in a small farmer’s town called Herald, living in a trailer that his family had moved from Oklahoma and to various other towns in southern Illinois. He admits that they “by today’s standards would have been considered very poor.” Most of all, he remembers the rations of the war above any other aspect of it. He remembers how the sugar ration made it hard for his mother to make fruit preserves and as a child at the time, how rare and coveted candy was. The Great Depression was largely before his time but he remembers how frugal his parents were with what they had, and by the time of his father’s death, his mother was left with an estate worth half a million dollars.

His father was worked in the oil fields of the region for the Skelly Oil Company , maintaining and pumping oil from about ten oil pumps on a lease. Gasoline at the time was rationed, because of World War II. My grandfather remembers the ingenuity of his father in a method in which he collected gas vapors in steel drums, from the separation process that evaporated the excess water from the crude oil. They would store several of these drums of fuel in a shed near the house, and in this way never had a problem with fueling their car. He remembers the ingenuity of his father also in the way he used a system of pulleys and pipes to devise a system for obtaining running water from the water pump a hundred yards from the house. His father was always able to provide for the family and food lack of food was never a strong threat during his childhood. More than that, he was a prime example of the ingenuity central to the American spirit.

School for my grandfather could be found in the various one to two room school houses that he attended from first grade through high school. These institutions were meager in resources but it was through education that he would establish himself apart from the life that he had known growing up. As a young man he wanted to enlist into the military to go fight along with some of his friends in Vietnam. His father saw a better future for him and refused to sign the papers. He went on instead to graduate from high school and then the University of Illinois with a degree in engineering.

The legacy of my grandfather’s story is often one that is lost upon people in our society. The idea of manual labor seems foreign to many people with backgrounds of college and white collar jobs. The truth is that most Americans are only one or two generations removed from this type of lifestyle. The fact that this idea is so foreign to us shows the expectation for social mobility in America that had never been achieved until its founding. It’s the idea of the underclass hero, and the American dream. My grandfather’s legacy may not be as dramatic as one of a decorated war hero, but it and all of those like it, coupled with the ingenuity and foresight of my great-grandfather’s legacy, create a true image of the American Legacy.

When a vampire attacks London, an old couple call in an American superhero to help bring the menace to bay.

COMIC BOOK REVIEW CAPTAIN AMERICA TOMB OF BLOOD 1981 Marvel

Writers –Roger Stern & John Byrne Artist – John Byrne

In which Captain America goes to London to fight a Nazi vampire called Baron Blood.

A rather quaint and rosy picture of London, with a village bobby investigating a series of murders in which the victims are totally drained of blood. He is convinced the murders are down to a Jack The Ripper style of knife wielding slasher, but an old couple in a cottage near to the latest murder scene have a different theory – vampires. They even believe that they know which vampire – the aforementioned Baron Blood, though he was killed off in the 1940’s by a stake wielded by Captain America and his corpse lies guarded in a secret catacomb in The Tower of London. (Apparently he escaped – what do you expect).

This is a crazy view of London, complete with Cockney geezers, polite policemen, a country bumpkin coroner (actually the chief villain in disguise), and a place where country cottages are within walking distance of the Tower Of London.

The old couple know the vampire is at large because they saw it happen. They are retired superheroes, Spitfire and Union Jack 1. Their son had become a second Union Jack, but he had died some time back. Suspecting the evil Baron might be up to his old tricks, they send a summons to Captain America.

New York is seen as a big city (as if London isn’t), and the young Steve Rogers (having been in cryogenic deep-freeze through the 1950’s and 60’s), is dating his current girlfriend when he tells her that he has to go to England.

There are nice touches here of the girlfriend’s perception of his old fashioned rather Conservative values. He likes old movies and music, rather than modern pop culture. He would rather see Rogers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma musical than the modern explicit play O Calcutta his lover would like him to see.

The good Captain barely has time to greet his old friends (noting how they have aged) when the Baron strikes, getting close to biting the American hero, only to be thwarted by the chain mail around the hero’s neck. The rising sun forces the vampire to flee with intent on a rematch. Much now hinges on whether the old couple will don their heroic garb to rejoin the fight after thirty years or if their son and his best friend (who happen to be visiting the cottage) will become a new generation Union Jack hero and assist in finishing the monster off once and for all.

The Baron is a great character, created by Dracula, but bearing many personal grudges. He is a cross between the Red Baron and Dick Dasterdly with fangs. A terrific work of hokum with an incredibly misguided and unresearched notion of what life is really like in London.

Arthur Chappell

This is not in support of or an objection to the Occupy Wall Street movement. Hopefully, this will help supporters of Occupy Wall Street (OWS) become more consistent and unified in communicating their agenda and help those who do not support OWS have a better understanding of the OWS movement means.

IT’S OKAY TO BE UPSET: WE ALL ARE

We are all fed up with the level of unemployment, the foreclosures in our neighborhoods which diminish our home values and cripple our investments, our national debt and uncontrolled government spending. We are all upset with government bailouts and the fact three generations from now, we will still be dealing with the financial consequences of our actions today. It is time we say we have had enough with solutions from the current administration which we know will not work.

PROBLEM 1: WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT DO YOU WANT?

OWS, from the media’s perspective, is more of an infestation rather than a movement. Unfortunately the vision of tent cities, sexual assault, public drug use and crime within the movement tarnishes the Utopian society OWS advocates. There is no clear outline of what OWS is and what the exact goals of the movement are. The media exploits these shortcomings and skews the image of OWS.

SOLUTION: RALLY THE TROOPS BEHIND ONE VOICE

A movement should have a leader; a spokesperson. This may seem to be against the principles of OWS, but it would aide in increasing understanding of the movement. Having a leader does not mean being a follower to that leader. It means you rally behind the message which is made bigger by your support. Having one person who articulates the demands of many shows there is unity in your cause. It also creates a focal point for those who may be on the fence in regards to support.

PROBLEM 2: T.M.I.

Looking up “OWS Manifesto” or “OWS beliefs” brings up dozens of sites which have no consistency in their messages between them. Three sites alone had a total of 104 different complains or demands to government on behalf of OWS. This makes it more of a challenge to get a clear sense of what the OWS movement stands for. Also, there are too many demands which do not pertain to Wall Street. The messages are not consistent which causes more confusion.

SOLUTION: TRINITY

The best way to combat confusion among Americans who do not know what OWS stands for is to reduce the demands to three major areas of improvement along with the precise steps to take place to achieve them. In order to enact real change, the game of government would need to be played here. This increased focus will align rallies and keep speakers on subject. Many of the complaints and demands could be subcategorized into larger areas of concern so the entire message is still intact and better organized.

PROBLEM 3: WHAT’S IN IT FOR THE NOT-SO-LITTLE GUY?

The Occupy Movement seems to have a Robin Hood approach to the distribution of wealth and entitlements in this country. The “just because” mentality has ensnared many Americans to hate the wealthy of the country; despising the success they have achieved. So where does that leave those Americans who do pay their taxes? Who got student loans and paid them or are paying them off? Who did not give into sub-prime mortgages and bought what they knew they could afford? As Americans work to achieve the income of those who OWS say are their enemies, those Americans would then become OWS’s enemies. It would be difficult to support a cause which could eventually turn on them.

SOLUTION: ILLUSTRATE THE NARRATIVE

The OWS movement will not be taken seriously by many Americans until it can show the discipline and structure that emulates their desired culture. How can this be done and how does it benefit the Americans who did? Use social media to distribute images of the society OWS envisions or a series of presentations which outlines how the solutions proposed will impact society today. In addition, they could introduce counter-measures to overcome foreseeable conflicts. Solutions need to be found which will have a lasting impact on society and still promote the values the country was founded on: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Punishing and over-taxing those who OWS feels make too much money infringes on those founding principles.

What is responsible for the plight of the American economy? Is it a weak and clueless president, or is it an efficient party politics machine. Find out in this short but simple piece...

Image via Wikipedia

The GOP has worked overtime in the last two years to stygmy any progress to be made by the Obama administration, even at great expense to both the economy and the growth (restoration and development) thereof. Of course, the reasoning behind this is simple enough – anything they can do to discredit the “First Black President of the United States of America” would be a plus, but more important is that they unseat the Democratic Party in the next presidential elections.

It hurts when celebrities and public figures use thier popularity the wrong way – big names such as Matt Damon and Donald Trump whom one would expect to know better tend to speak with minimal information. The Donald’s attacks on Barack Obama’s viability as president was uncalled for, especially considering that the United States is essentially and literally a nation of immigrants. Matt Damon, whom I love on the other hand, is obviously speaking out of impatience in his desire to see changes made. True, change has been slow and The President does seem to take his time on some issues, but there is no denying the fact that the change experienced in the American economy has both been real and measurable over the past four years. Well, at least, Jason Bourne clearly has a passion for his country - wonder what the real estate mogul really has to show for… anything, that is, besides a woeful credit score.

Image via Wikipedia

It’s the hypocrisy of democracy, simply enough. It has little to do with the flight of the American people, but more to do with how long either party can hold on to the Oval Office and influence policy to please other wealthy people and make themselves richer! Only America can wake up and make matters right; too bad history shows that the majority is usually wrong, while an informed minority is informed enough to make the right choices. Too bad history shows that the ignorant majority tends to win the vote while the informed minority is silenced by overwhelming unpopularity. Way to change the world, America.

No matter what happens in the world, The King will always have the spinsters doing his bidding for him. It is serious business, so serious its absurd.

Once upon a tie there was a man of many names who would become King of a magical land. This king was the first of his kind to gain power, he was immortal, or so it would seem. His news minions formed a bond in the political world. No matter how bad a decision was, they stood behind, twisted, and tweaked for the all mighty King O. They had tingles running up their legs, even came to tears whenever King Arrogant read his speech writers speeches. Mr. Flop Flop became more confident knowing he had his minions behind him. He could do no wrong, so he pushed the limits of his power.

The laws of this magical land were etched in stone but King double speak knew it was an old stone, and our dated. The people knew these rules were the rules and those who would abide by these rules stood in shock when King golfer wanted to disobey them. The others were just fools who followed thinking they would get something for sticking by their king.

Soon, after the King went against everything the country stood for, the people started to rebel. The minions would twist the news of the King but the townsfolk were not buying it anymore. King Havoc and his Jester Joeseph, needed to do something to calm the people down so they started to change their stand on everything. The magical King told all of his news minions to twist things against the people so they would realize the King knew better.

The King was gone within four years. Twas not Sir Newt, nor Sir Romney who did the deed, nor was it Sir Ron or Rick who banished this bad King from doing any more harm to the land, twas the people, The people ran him out of town on that faith filled night, and the golden child, the One, the Magical King was no more.

The moral is, one who spills evil across the land may pick up a few minions, but the soul of the land will always know when it is taken for a fool.

Who should be sitting in the Oval Office when all the dust settles - seeing past the smoke and mirrors to the real people behind the public figures...

Obama has been the subject of a smear campaign and on the receiving end of the whims of an ignorant and ungrateful general public – one that is misinformed, overblown, and overbearing. Despite everything, he drags the economy along with bloodied hands and grim determination.

The public, if it is wise, has seen the error of its ways, slowing down the rates of growth and recovery from the Great Recession by splitting the House between Democrats and Republicans. Let not forget the ills the GOP has put the economy to over the past year – risking default and ominous tax situations, all in the bid to discredit the incumbent; let not forget the nominee-apparent, an exposed money-monger who would starve out several hungry families in order to make and keep a quick buck, who would not file or reveal his tax returns, and who would shamelessly proffer a bet on national television for an amount many American homes would not see (much less spend) in a year. Oust the GOP – from the House; keep the GOP – from the Office.

Thankfully, America is learning a lesson that has come long and hard, that looks beyond racial and economic disparity, past the ignorance of subscribing to the media, and past blind argument based on feelings. Thankfully, America is learning a lesson that allows her to vote for the person who is right and on the right track, not for a party or an ideaology, but for truth, justice and the American way. Thankfully, America knows what to do next.

Image via Wikipedia

Vote not the Democratic Party nor the Republican; vote not for media propaganda or wealth and affluence; vote not with your belly or your worries about the future. Vote with faith and hope that the America that once was lives still and will rise again from the ashes of a crippling Great Recession.

The 2012 Presidential Race.

The State and Federal Government has been controlling your children for the last two decades. They’ve been controlling the public for the last one-hundred years by getting people to do things that they don’t really want to do. If you can understand a selected group of people who aren’t elected, but are part of the Council of Foreign Affair then you’ll be able to understand this article very easily.

Through time elite groups of people have always sought to rule over groups of people. You can read about it with the Egyptians, Chinese, Romans Greeks and other empires that have come and gone. For thousands of years these selected groups of people have used any means to keep in power. You could call them the Illuminate, the Bilderburg Group or the Free Masons.

When the United States first formed it was occupied by the Occult and Christians. The elite had ideas that they were going to use America as the world’s reserve currency. This decision was already decided before WWI and II. They knew that the country was going to be a free society and have advantages over the other dictatorship countries. A country that is free from government regulations and taxations becomes very rich, people have good jobs and the standard of living goes up. The elite also knew that they wanted a society where they are revered to as rulers or kings. They orchestrated WWI and WWII because they knew that something life changing to get the masses to do what they wanted. The best way to get a mass of people to want more government control is fear. People look to the leader or their president for help and that gives him power.

The Concil On Foreign Affairs, United Nations and The World Banks

After World War II there was a big change in United States. There was a lot of good changes because we became the most powerful nation on the planet. We had the best economy, the best military, the best auto motive industry and manufacturing jobs. But our leaders; people in Congress, Judicial and Presidents have made a lot of mistakes since 1945.

One mistake that led to many mistakes was sending money over seas to rebuild other countries. In our constitution it says that we’re not to send any money to any foreigner. Our president has sent money to Japan, Germany and other countries of the world. It served as a double sword because then the countries were forced to use our currency, the dollar. Pretty soon everyone in the world valued the dollar.

As this was happening The United Nations was formed and The Concil on Foreign Affairs. As these other programs gained momentum slowly the presidents began passing laws and tightening their noose around the American public. In the constitution its high treason for the president of the United States to be serving another entity like the United Nations. The president is suppose to be serving the public and taking orders from Congress. You can look at it like a corporation with the Board of Directors telling the President of the Company what to do to keep the company in business.

Nixon Took The Dollar From The Gold Standard

Most people get confused between paper money and gold. When America first got started people used silver and gold as way to pay bills. It wasn’t until later when we won our independence from England that we moved to paper money. The whole idea of the dollar from our fore fathers was that it was a certificate of gold. This meant that it was the same as gold and so colonist started using the dollar. Miners traded in their gold for dollars because companies would only accept the dollar.

This is one of the biggest reasons why we’re in the trouble we’re in. Our country is going to experience a lot of monetary trouble. With inflation and the printing of the dollar from the Federal Government we have a certificate for something that no longer exists.

We got into this problem because President Nixon passed a bill that allowed him to take the dollar away from the gold standard. Before this was done the United States could only print money based on the value of how the dollar was in relation to gold. Ever since Nixon took the standard of gold away from the dollar and printed (printed money whenever he felt like it) money we’ve seen the change in the value of our dollar. The value of gold has steadily been going up until now you can see and hear commercials of companies who want to buy your gold.

That along with all the unnecessary wars with Vietnam, Korea , Gulf War, Iraq and Afghanistan have weakened our dollar, but lets also look at all the other great things in America that have been lost along the way. The size of government has increase a lot because of the wars and ego of the presidents that believe they have to re-invent the wheel. In the last ten years; manufacturing jobs left the country because of high taxes and regulations. The Automotive Industry closed most of their assembly plants because of regulations and high taxes backed by the Federal Government. People losing their jobs left and right, the housing market going to hell and worst of all the Federal Government has been bailing these companies out. The banks made poor decisions to give out loans to people that weren’t ready for them. The Federal Government bailed out the banks, the car companies and other corporations that should have went out of business. In the last fifty years the divorce rate increased by 50% as women’s right made the big move through the sixties. The idea of marriage being a sacred thing has diminished, now people get divorced and it’s no surprise, it’s a normal thing because we’ve allowed it to happen in our lives. Now the biggest thing we hear about is gay marriage and how gays are denied to be legally married. The Federal Government is making decisions that isn’t there’s to give on what is acceptable and not acceptable. President Obama fired Rick Warner of General Motors and took control of the company. A decision that is against the Tenth Amendment. A president has no authority in taking control of companies in a free enterprise. It shouldn’t be up to anybody in office to get in anybody’s pursuit of happiness, but the Federal Government does it and so does the president.

Jimmy Carter passed a bill that allowed the Vice President more power to over see the country, taking power away from our generals. It used to be that it would be up to the general to ok a war to see if there really was an exit strategy, but those laws got changed and funneled to the President and Vice President of the United States. The president would also have to go to Congress to declare war on the other country as well, but with all the bills passed through the last one-hundred years Congress doesn’t do anything. It doesn’t matter if it’s a Democrat or Republican because who ever is in the Oval office reports straight to The Concil on Foreign Relations who tell them what to do. President Obama has told Congress that he doesn’t have to report to them and that he reports to the United Nations on his war on peace with Libya, Sudan and Somalia.

The truth is, wars are very expensive and the elites know that through war they can get the public and masses to act a certain way. They can create this illusion that people think they’re voting in a new president who’s going to give them what they want when really they won’t. Rich corporations have been manipulating our Federal Government to pass policy’s that would put their competitors out of business. High end, rich insurance company’s and Wal-mart are actually in favor of the Health Care Bill because they know it will bring them business. It will force people to buy health care just like the state passing the seat belt laws (to force people to buckle up) or forcing the consumer to buy booster seats for their children even though there’s a recall on the product. The law is the law and nobody has a say.

The elite love this system and they know that Americans aren’t going to put up a fight over it because it’s so small. The average American doesn’t realize how big the problem is with The Concil On Foreign Affairs and The United Nations. All the major decisions aren’t being made by the president or Congress, but people in these other entities.

The Best Thing We Can Do

There is a growing movement to take our country back, but people need to do more than go to the voting machines on election day. They need to get involved in their communities, start buying gold and silver, invest in guns and bullets, by years worth of food that is perishable because the inevitable is going to happen.

The elite want America’s Bill of Right totally dismantled and destroyed so they can carry on with their next plan which is to force the biggest depression since 1930. They want America to start World War III with Iran and bring down the worlds population from seven billion people to about two billion people. If we take action now, together, we can win and prevent this from happening.

Militias are being formed and taking action to help the communities and are people who care about the country and want to help people. Most of Troops that are stationed in other countries of the world are not happy with the direction of the country. Some of the discharged soldiers from the army have spoken up to give support to their countrymen. About 90% of the military have been sending donations to Ron Paul for his run for president. Even our own soldiers are against President Obama’s policies with the citizens. We shouldn’t be afraid of the eminent revolt we should embrace it and take action. We shouldn’t think that our children down the road can take this on because by then it may be too late.

Progressive President II: Where Are We Headed?

Ryan Keith Johnson

© Copy Right 2012 All Rights Reserved.

Progressive Concept; Make The People Want An Evolution Not a Revolution.

It is true that in the past leading up to now that politicians have worked hard to motivate the public by telling them to give up their guns. They also like to say that America needs to get into foreign affairs and that the people should be passive about regulations that are passed.

Now with the Patriot Act that has been passed, the Federal Government can continue monitoring and with Obama signing the Defense Act Bill you can be sure that your rights are being infringed. These bills break the Fourth and Fifth Amendment of being safe and free in your home and having a trial with a jury. What this means is that the Federal Government can consider anyone a Terrorist. They can break into your home, hand cuff you and take you away to a location where no one can find you. You hear about interrogations being done in Egypt and that the citizens of Egypt are taken from their homes and basically disappear.

What The Federal Government Wants

The people that are in our Federal Government want to break the country in pieces. They want to destroy families and destroy communities so that things get so bad that the people cry out for help. When the people cry out for help then the Federal Government will declare Martial Law. Martial Law is an act where the country becomes a police state. People will have a cure few that will lock down the community into their homes. It will be like Nazi Germany when Hitler took control of the country. The constitution will be suspended and nobody will have any freedom, you’ll have total tyranny.

The Federal Government want control over what you do, where you work, how your children are raised, how you should spend your money and where you can travel.

They’ve already got control over where you can work with the credit score. People think that employers use the credit score to decide who to hire. The credit score is irrelevant when applying for a job, but yet you’re asked to sign a waiver giving them permission to look up your credit score. It’s discrimination and against the Fourth Amendment. Employers aren’t even suppose to be photo copying your Driver’s License because of the increase in identity thefts. Think about it you don’t know your employer and you shouldn’t be giving that information out. America is the only country in the world that has the Credit Score.

The Federal Government wants control over the Education of what your child is taught. Jimmy Carter passed the Department of Education with Congress to take responsibility for your child’s education. The idea is to have a system in place to teach the children a small portion of America’s history. They want your children to become followers, dependent on government and have no understanding for consequences for their actions. They want to dumb down your child by making it difficult for teachers to do their job. Think about the No Child Left Behind Act passed by President Bush, it didn’t help the children or the teachers.

There have been other anomalies that can’t be proved the Federal Government is behind it, but the Federal Government isn’t doing their job to protect the public. There are food additives and high levels of toxins in health products; like shampoos, hair sprays, make up, lips stick. These Toxins can cause degeneration of the brain and make it hard for your child to learn in school. The Federal Government knows that they can’t make you get your vaccine shots. These vaccines are loaded with Mercury that cause ADHD, ADD, Learning Disabilities, Behavioral Problems and Autism. Vaccines are scams and the Federal Government is behind this scam to make you believe if you don’t get a flu vaccine that you’ll die. Mammograms are scams as well, they cause cancer.

What Can We Do?

We can do a lot! We need to stand up and say no to big government and socialism. We need to preserve a Republic for the individual American Citizen. We need to work together by sharing what we know to other uninformed Americans. Get organized and talk to your neighbors. We can’t depend on the Fox 9 news or CNN or any News to cover the biggest SCAM that’s going on in our government.

There is already a growing movement in the United States. Militias are forming; there’s one in Virginia and Michigan. Protests are being done in Washington DC with the direction this country is going the people in power don’t know what to think. We need to stop fighting among ourselves over petty things, our freedom is at stake. If we don’t have our constitution and our freedom then we’re allowing more government control that will lead to something worse, world governance.

OCCUPY WALL STREET and Other Such Places; Looking Back

Taking a look back, I wonder if it has all been worth it. Has it been worth being out there away from home, family and our personal obligations? What have we gained by the action we have taken? Is our government really listening to the voice of the “people,” we the people that make up the voting populous of America and in other places around the world who are also protesting the economic and social conditions found in today’s society? It is a question we will not have a real answer to until some future date. Despite our outcries, we still have to sit and wait and watch.

The Occupy protest began as a protest movement by the general populous called the 99% as a protest against the high unemployment and the greed, corruption and the undue influences of large corporations on our government and the social and economic inequality in the United States between the wealthiest 1% of the U.S. population and the other 99% being pushed down and smothered by these powers and their influences on our governing bodies establishing an unfair global economy that is literally foreclosing on our future as businesses downsize and have major layoffs because they can’t afford to keep everyone employed or they are forced into bankruptcy and close their doors. The general public loses their income and in the process their homes and livelihood while taxes, medical expenses, insurance, the cost of food and basic necessities have doubled and are crushing the life right out of the 99% represented in these protest movements that began on September 17, 2011 at Liberty Square in New York City’s Wall Street financial district and fanned protest all across the United States and around the world as the populous of nations banned together in protest against corrosive leadership in both government and big business.

The economic and social conditions need to be re-evaluated to reflect equality for all 100% not just the elite few and not allow our rights to become tarnished or infringed upon by others through unfair laws, regulations and business practices. No one is or was asking for a handout; just a hand up out of the mess the 1% has made and we allowed to happen by not speaking up sooner. These protesters were asking the 1% to play fair and do their share. The majority of Americans are willing to work for a living, pay their fair share of taxes to keep our Nation strong and running but things have got so far out of balance the “people” (that 99%) finally have had to say enough.

We need to re-evaluate and repair the condition our condition is in and do it in a way that is fair to everyone. You cannot get out of debt by borrowing more money or foreclosing on the 99% who are trying to do their fair share. We can’t keep our own Nation strong and competitive when we give it away to other Nations or we become an aristocracy or socialist republic. History has already proven that over and over again. The only thing that works is when people pull together as a united front and do not succumb to the dictations of one or the few.

We all want change and we all have our personal and community reasons for desiring change but change only comes if we make it happen and to make it happen we have to begin on a personal level. The change has to begin at home and with each of us personally. We need to ask our self what we can do to make things better for our self. What can I personally do, change about my own circumstances that will in some way improve the situation I am in.

Life isn’t always fair or easy. There will always be someone who has more. There will always be those who others consider to be poor. There will always be those who will cheat and lie and scam and con to get what they want to fill their own pocket of greed. There will always be users and abusers and some will actually get away with it for a time.

From Occupy Wall Street to all the other such places including Washington DC the voice of the people has spoken. They original intent was good and meaningful but as I have looked back I think the whole Occupy thing got out of hand and not everybody was there for the right reasons. Too many got caught up in the excitement, came for all the wrong reasons and crimes were committed on both sides and the whole thing seemed to go a little crazy.

Instead of forming a truly united front, too many personal agendas, gripes and disagreements came to the surface and it has all ended with too much shouting and too many loud and angry voices screaming for their “rights” so that even if some who could make a real difference, were trying to listen, they couldn’t hear the words above the roar.

On the surface it seems that all it has really amounted to is a lot more “sensationalism” in the news headlines with little to no real accomplishments achieved. We are left right where we were when it all began, to sit and watch and wait to see what our government will really do. Maybe some heard. Maybe they can convince others to see the error of our way. Time will tell. For now we wait, we hope and we can all begin to make the changes this Country needs by beginning with our self and better governing our own personal behavior, and our attitude toward others.
