India’s economy is reminiscent of a Bollywood blockbuster. It glitters and sparkles are enormous – but the beautiful sheen glossed over the enormous problems facing the country. The rapid growth is losing pace and tightened so that the immense difficulties of the world’s largest democracy. Million people remain desperately poor.

The massacre at Amritsar in 1919 and also known as the Jallianwala Bagh massacre occurred in the city of Amritsar in northern India on the 13th of April that year on one of the biggest religious festivals known as Baisakhi. The army under the control of British officers began shooting at a crowd of unarmed men, women and children and continued to do so until they had used all their ammunition.
