King Tutankhamon was just one of the many pharaohs of Egypt. He came to the throne in 1332 B.C. when he was only about eight or nine years old. It is strongly believed but not proven that Tut is the son of Akhenaten and his wife Nefertiti.

Mythology was the bed-rock of ancient religious and cultural norms. For example, different Greek communities had different gods. Athena was the goddess of Athens; Apollo was the god of Delphi, Hera of Argos and Demeter of Elesius. But Zeus was the king of the gods in the Greek mythology. In Egyptian, Babylonian, Scandinavian mythologies etc there are gods with different names, but who in their performances were more or less parallels or equivalents of the gods in Greek mythology.

Even such common words as blizzard, flare, freak, pad, and puzzle are listed in dictionaries as being of “unknown origin.” It is not even that their roots have been lost with the passage of time: no one can explain the appearance of certain contemporary words, such as hijack, which was first recorded in the 1920’s…The investigation of the source of such words has led to many different explanations, some more farfetched than others. In ancient Egypt, women’s rights reached a level that has rarely been equalled in any civilisation right up to modern times. This was unusual in the ancient world and led to condemnation from neighbouring states. The Greek historian Herodotus commented on how they; "attended market and took part in trading whereas men sat and home and did the weaving", he went on to say the Egyptians "have reversed the ordinary practices of mankind".
