if you have other opinions of symbolic meanings that I the artist wasn’t able to even pick up, please share, more than interested in all of your opinions! 

Christmas 1990 was a bit more special than other years. That year I went absolutely crazy with holiday decorating.  We had just gotten rid of the garish wallpaper that my husband’s ex wife was responsible for. I was ecstatic.  This event was cause for celebration on any day of the year, so the holiday season turned out twice as happy. Before that, viewing a pretty Christmas tree in that room was nigh impossible because it was in competition with the walls.

The wallpaper shouted out a verdant background of enormous ferns that looked like they could come alive and eat you.  

We replaced the ugly stuff with tastefully a quieter wall covering embossed with a subtle grain pattern and vertical lines.  It was white with a slight pearlescent glow – a perfect compliment for my wild enthusiasm about Christmas that year.

I handcrafted little corn husk dolls, and added wings and halos. Then I suspended them from the ceiling on invisible strings.  They were all named with three syllable names like Elizabeth, Gwendolyn, and Erica. With the background of the sort of lustrous wallpaper and a slate blue carpet, entering this room was almost a celestial event.

Around the corner on the hearth, a grapevine Christmas tree sparkled happily boasting diminutive floral sachets throughout. This was adorned with repurposed terracotta knick-knacks scavenged from a studio trash bin. The grapevines, harvested from woods nearby, symbolized a monumental task.

After all that work, the boys (my husband and his son) barely noticed.  Or in any event, didn’t mention that they had.  “Oh, well,” I pouted to myself.  I decided to enjoy the Christmas décor myself even if no one else did. 

After two weeks of no response to the Christmas extravaganza, I had to assume apathy on the part of the fellas.  More time went by, and still no remarks. My pouting turned into sprouting one day when a friend paid a Christmas visit.  Yes, I sprouted little invisible horns when she went into raptures over my little Christmas tree. 

She wanted it.

We visited a while over snicker doodles and coffee.  She couldn’t stop looking with a green tint of envy at the cone shaped Christmas tree delight.  After basking in the warmth of her appreciation, I decided to offer it to her.  The look of gratitude on her face was enough of a thank you, but she wanted to pay me for it.  She made an offer I couldn’t refuse.

There would only be a few days without a Christmas tree, I reasoned.  Soon we’d be headed south to visit my mother and father in law in Florida.  End of story, I had my pockets lined with some extra spending cash, and knew that at least someone appreciated the decorations.

That wasn’t really the end of the story, though.  When the men folk got home after school and work – all a sudden they noticed.  “Where’s the Christmas tree?” echoing expressions of major disappointment.  

“What about the little angels?” I asked.  “They’re still here.”

It wasn’t till then that I realized they actually appreciated my efforts after all. The pouting left me, but now it was grousing that I had to contend with.  Go figure.

The real end of the story is this. We had a great Christmas once we arrived at our southward destination of sunny Florida. Grandma and Grandpa had a big Christmas tree set up in their lanai. The entire room was flooded with sunlight and Christmas packages galore.

We think of possession as some evil, supernatural influence. This is why, in the modern world, it is ridiculed as non-existent, or simply the raving of the mad. But can a rational answer be given which can teach us a lot about ourselves?
I think it can. A good starting point is multiple personality. Here, the mind seems to fragment into a number of personalities, each taking it in turn to occupy the person. There are hundreds of documented cases.

They can be fascinating.

Many people seem to live their life quite naturally with such personality invasions, and each can seem a separate entity. But I’ve noticed, in many cases, a specific element within each personality.
They seem to reflect a specific emotion, or aspect, of the host. They can be specifically angry, sad, joyful, sexual, and many other traits. Indeed, it is as if it is not the mind that has split, but the specific emotions of the host.

This could have importance beyond the unexplained.
Consider, for instance, the serial killer. In many cases they seem to have separate personalities themselves. If married, a ‘normal’ personality can live a normal life, the wife even unaware of the truth.

The actual killer can be seen as anger in the raw. Once the murder has occurred, we often find a deep seated conscience which makes the killer carry out stupid errors, which eventually lead to capture, as if he wanted to be caught.

Could the serial killer be possessed?
Yet, not possessed by some supernatural influence, but a series of specific emotional fragments of his inner mind. It could be that there is a real ‘devil’ within.

Similarly, some people can appear absolute angels. Think of the monk, dedicating his life to service in God, totally subsuming all desires and emotions. Maybe it is not as difficult as it appears. The ‘monk’ personality simply sheds emotional baggage.

It can be seen in the evangelical movement.
In this case, they are filled with absolute joy, and nothing can touch them emotionally. Have they been touched by the ‘angelic’? Or have they simply discarded all other emotions?

We think of the mind as a coordinated whole. But the above suggests this need not be the case. Rather, the mind is a cauldron of conflicting emotions and traits, a particular fragment often rising within the ‘normal’ person.
Consider, for instance, sudden anger, where all other emotions disappear as you descend into a rage. Think, also, of the moments of pure, ecstatic joy, where nothing negative can touch you.
Are these moments of mild possession, when an emotional fragment escapes the confines of normality? If so, then the full blown possession is simply a matter of degrees. We all have the capacity to become devil or saint.

Grimmverse! It’s a unique Twitter role play and ranks among my personal favorites. It’s playful, interesting and intelligent. It’s also extremely complex. The storylines are fast-paced with multiple plot developments. Each chapter builds on the ones before and doesn’t necessarily stand on its own. Most of the characters are magical creatures. They die and come alive again. They transform, mutate and travel through space and time. Besides the main cast of more than a dozen characters there are many temporary characters. In conversations on Twitter, the characters occasionally interact without specifically directing their replies. Despite the challenges of following along, John Grimm, Cierra Rose, Legs Wesson, Dean Winchester, Sam Guthrie and the others are well worth the effort.

@Grimmverse: First, thanks so much for taking the time to watch us. We are, primarily out for our own enjoyment and we understand that can make following us difficult. John’s answering most of the questions, with the exception of one or two that he honestly doesn’t know.

@korikatra: Ok then, John, let’s start with Legs Wesson (@ShotgunInsuranc). She’s described as “sensitive and from a Family of Hunters.” Later she’s referred to as “fae” and has unique powers. What is she?

@ReaperAsInGrimm: When I first met Legs– threw her over my shoulder and dragged her out of a hunt she was over her head in– she was a sensitive and the Wesson family goes way back in the Hunting circles. She was raised to it. Later on, we found out that she was a sensitive because she was part fae. Someone in her family tree is a faery…. So she’s fae. Long story short. Kinda.

@korikatra: I see. Why did David Shepherd (@ShepherdHunter) have Dean Winchester’s (@CallMeDean) car at the Mission? What is the significance of the black ‘67 Impala? Is Dean the only member of the team who is from 2010?

@ReaperAsInGrimm: David inherited the car from his father, who bought it at auction. That Impala was Dean’s father’s. It’s Dean’s last piece of his family and he left it behind when he came into the future.

@korikatra: *stifles a giggle* Yes, next question! What does UAC stand for? At the UAC, Dean witnessed Sam Guthrie (@bottlerocketgal) revive from the dead. Are all members of John’s team immortal?

@ReaperAsInGrimm: UAC stands for ‘United Aerospace Corporation’. And… no. Dean’s not immortal, neither is Legs. Technically, we’re all killable.

@korikatra: When Shepherd gives you a bone-handled knife, it cuts you. The cut burns and doesn’t heal immediately. This is taken as “the final piece of evidence that Reaper is, indeed, a demon.” How does it prove that?

@ReaperAsInGrimm: From what I understand, the knife was forged in hell and brought out by a demon named Ruby. The knife was created to kill demons. Its reaction to me… Well, that specific reaction, proved Reaper was a demon because that’s what it does to demons. 

@korikatra: Your girlfriend, Cierra Rose (@KittehHasClaws) and the knife Shepherd delivered to you disappear, taken by the demon, Dick. Dick then beheads you with Ruby’s Knife. Is this the same bone-handled knife? Cierra is driven to try to kill her friends because of “Dick’s geas”. What’s a geas?

@ReaperAsInGrimm: Well, Ruby’s the original ‘owner’ of the knife, and yeah, it’s the same one Shep gave me. A geas is a command or spell someone is under that they have to obey. They are compelled to via the spell or magic binding them.

@korikatra: There is a temporary but important character called Adam. Why was Legs the only one who didn’t recognize Adam? What kind of creature is Adam?

@Grimmverse: Hi! (Goblins now.) John doesn’t remember Adam. (Legs was away when Adam showed up.) Adam has to touch you for his tricks to work. (He’s an alien that lives on the energy created by memory….) So he inserts himself into people’s lives and lives on the people around him. (If you don’t remember him, he can’t exist! So Cas wiped everyone’s memories.)

@korikatra: Thanks, Goblins! Back to you, John, how are you still alive after being beheaded? How could the demon Dick use you as a host when you were already host to Reaper?

@ReaperAsInGrimm: Ha! Yeah… I wasn’t really beheaded… Dick needed to buy time so he used an illusion– apparently he was good at those– to fake it. And Dick wanted to separate Reaper from me and then use what was left.

@korikatra; Who is Jimmy Novak and what is his connection to the team?

@ReaperAsInGrimm: Jimmy…. He’s a great guy. I kinda feel bad for him. He’s Cas’ vessel… That is, the body Cas is using was a walking, talking, person with a life named Jimmy… He gave up everything for Cas to be able to come to Earth.

@korikatra: After the ordeals involving Dick and Adam, Reaper is gone. Eventually, Reaper ends up in a mirror. How does he get there?

@ReaperAsInGrimm: -Hey… I was never really gone…. I was just… Everything operates on energy right? Well… Dick sapped mine when he tried to separate me. And well… I had to regroup. So John couldn’t feel me or hear me… He got a vacation.- 

Reaper wound up in the mirror because mirrors are soft spots. You can look into mirrors and see things that can’t be seen normally. Reaper was stuck between this world and the next– not quite a ghost, not quite a shade– and could step into the mirrors and be perceived. Later, when he got stronger, he was a shadow as well.

@korikatra: Sam tries to help you and Reaper reconnect using the spell Giles gave to Dean.
Who’s Giles?

@ReaperAsInGrimm: Dean and Legs had a small issue with something and wound up in a place called Sunnydale. Sunnydale was an alternate reality from us… Dean said they were a TV show. Go figure. Giles was a man there who knew some stuff and gave Dean something to try and help.

@korikatra: There are mysterious ‘suits’ who interfere with the work of your team. The question is asked, “Are these people government or what?” Are they Torchwood? What exactly is Torchwood anyway?

@ReaperAsInGrimm: The suits are…. Difficult to understand. They’re part of the Technarch. They want to remove all creativity and change from the world– make it static, unchanging and always the same, easy to predict. They are not officially part of the government, but they do have their hands in a lot of pies. 

-They aren’t Torchwood. My little bro wouldn’t last five minutes with them.-

Shut up, Reaper. Anyway, Torchwood’s an agency that operates outside the law… They deal with the extraterrestrial stuff and things that pop through the various soft spots in the world… They call them ‘rifts’.

@korikatra: Legs ends up spending 5 years in a Labyrinth which translates to 5 days in real life. What was the purpose of her time in Labyrinth? When she returns to the hotel, she reaches into the mirror to comfort Reaper and he’s scared. Why?

@ReaperAsInGrimm: Her time in the Labyrinth was getting to know her fae side. She was going through a second puberty, basically. When she comes back, she does something no one should be able to to do…. And Reaper’s a chicken.

@korikatra: Where is Cardiff? What’s the difference between Torchwood 3 and Torchwood 4? Is there a Torchwood 1 and 2 somewhere? What is their purpose? How did Hart & Jack become involved with the Grimmverse team?

@ReaperAsInGrimm: I think I’ll hand this one over to Ianto for you… He’s more familiar with the Torchwood things…

@TeaboyNoMore: Ah, Cardiff is in Wales. It’s the home base of Torchwood 3. And yes, there was a 1 and a 2. I was originally employed with 1 as a junior researcher, actually. The multiple locations were only to cover more ground. Personally, I’d have more than one Torchwood in America… but the Americas are touchy, therefore there is only one. Hart and Jack apparently met John and Company via Twitter, through Owen, interestingly.

@korikatra: Jack Harkness (@FixedPointJack) and John Hart (@IWasAGoodWife) use Vortex Manipulators. Does this make them Time Agents? Is Owen Harper (@StillDrHarper) a Time Agent as well?

@TeaboyNoMore: Yes, Jack and John are Time Agents. Owen is not.

@korikatra: Ianto, you have a demon named Weevil, just as John has Reaper. What is a weevil? When he pulls a feather from the wings of Castiel (@CastielRising), the angel is surprised. Why?

@TeaboyNoMore: A weevil is a small insect– Mm. You mean the weevil that Weevil was named for. Owen named Weevil after a creature we’re very familiar with from Torchwood 3. They were a semi-harmless race that tended to be scavengers. Until things get unbalanced and then they lash out. They are sized like humans, live in packs, have a hive mentality, and are stronger and faster than humans. Owen saw Weevil hunched in a corner, growling, and assumed. Instead, he got me.

Castiel’s wings are intangible and invisible until he chooses to make them so. Weevil is able to perceive Castiel’s– and Gabriel’s– wings despite this. That, combined with his ability to pluck a feather from something he shouldn’t be able to touch? This was disturbing for the angel. Amazing that the unknown could cause an angel issue.

@korikatra: During their trip to the Caribbean, the Team encounters a kracken. What is a kracken?

@ReaperAsInGrimm: I’ll take back over from Ianto for now. Sorry I couldn’t answer those for you, darlin. Simply put, a kraken is a sea creature that looks like a giant bundle of seaweed given a beak and an eye. It’s a ‘monster’ and they’re rare– usually ships get attacked by sea serpents or giant squid. They’re debatably intelligent and apparently curious.

@korikatra: Gabriel is introduced as a deceased archangel who is looking for Castiel. How can an immortal be deceased? How can he be deceased yet searching for Cas? What is the difference between an angel and an archangel? There is a fight with someone named Raphael. Is he an angel too? Castiel believes he can’t help because his powers are low. Later they are recovered. What causes this ebb and flow of angel power?

@ReaperAsInGrimm: -Hot wings played dead once– ran off to join the pagans and played dead to his own siblings– then was actually killed by his brother, Lucifer. So he was actually dead.-

What Reaper’s leaving out, is that someone– something?– has apparently brought Gabe back from the dead. Umm… Archangel’s are like God’s first kids… Lucifer, Michael, Raphael, and Gabriel. The other angels are the secondary generation…. Less power there, apparently.

Cas had an ‘ebb’ of power because his dick brother, Raphael, cut him from heaven. Without being attached to that source, he had no power to use. Never could have been done to an Archangel, but Cas isn’t one. So Gabe loaned Cas some of his Grace– his power– and they went and took care of Raphael.

@korikatra: Ben Braeden is recognized by Dean but he ends up being the demon who once possessed Dean. Castiel exorcises the demon and frees the real Ben. He seems important. Who is he?

@ReaperAsInGrimm: Ben Braeden is possibly Dean’s kid. We’re all betting on it. If Ben is or isn’t Dean’s, it doesn’t really matter because Dean feels responsible for the kid and wants to make sure he’s okay. 

-I’m saying he’s Dean’s cause we all know Dean banged Lisa like a screen door in a gale and—

Yeah. That’s enough of that.

@korikatra: *grins* Thank you for speaking with me today, it’s been enlightening! Is there anything you’d like me to add that I haven’t asked about? Maybe a teaser on your upcoming plans or random Grimmverse trivia?  

@Grimmverse: Interesting facts? Umm… Watch the NPCs that get named but don’t get on the NPC account. Some of them are fun references to other TV shows/book series/movies/etc… and one or two might be past characters making a comeback… You never know with us!

There are all kinds of breeds of vampire in Grimmverse. And they’re mostly named for the ‘anthropologist’ who discovers them. For instance the Whedonites, named for Joss Whedon, creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, or Harrisites, the breed of vampire in the Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris (Also known as Trueblood). There are references to ’sparklepires’ a specific race of vampires in the Pacific Northwest.

Grimmverse tends to be rather tongue in cheek, though we can be pretty serious for the storylines. If we make a reference to something and you think you know what it’s from, @ the Grimmverse account and the Goblins will be sure to let you know if you’re right. We can be a giant game of Nerd sometimes.

Fun fact: The Team’s phones rarely run out of battery life. Why is this? There is actually a piece of technology in development today, in our timeline, that allows batteries to recharge via friction– i.e. as you move around, the battery recharges itself from the friction of the particles in the air moving against it. We appropriated that and made it real and in massive use.

Our plans for the future are just that: We have a lot going on and do plan to continue– we’ve made it past a year now, as of July 5th! But in our stories: What’s happening with the Hellfire Club? Shaw (@BlackKingShaw) occasionally makes rumblings about ‘plans’… And that Chuck (@OhMyChuck) guy, who the hell is he, anyway? If it’s over why is he still mooching off David, and why is he still getting visions?

Again, thanks so much for taking the time to do this. I hope our answers weren’t too long or rambling and I hope we answered the questions for you.  The website does have some good background information, but we’re always willing to answer question on the timeline. No one should ever worry about poking one of us and asking something. If we don’t know, we’ll come up with an answer. Gabriel: Alright, enough!! I get your meaning. Do not bring up that heartbreak.  At any rate, God wants for you & I to gather the Four Winds, and awaken Sister Rain. The time of vengeance upon your Friends has come. You have my sympathies, but we’ve work to do.

Michael: Understood, brother. Still.. I shall miss my Friends the Elephants. I shall weep for them.

Gabriel: I know, Michael. And what shall we do with the race of Men?

Michael: Who cares?

I really don’t think Obama is failing.

The science of today from atoms, chemistry, astronomy, mathematics, botany, medicinal fields, surgical procedures, architecture, and other select scientific fields have been utilized for spiritual purposes and evolved into the great sciences of today. The ancient cultures of Greece, Egypt, Rome, and other influential advanced countries proceeded to push the boundaries of the physical properities of the world and exhalt them to the spiritual consciousness; signifying the adaptations mind of man has concieved to live more comfortably. The real aspect of magick, like anything, comes from beginning roots of the experimentation, results, and conclusions. When these practices have evolved and lost the spirituality aspect (due to more knowledgeable details and theories other scientists have added over the years) the morals and values have been drawn away from very thoughts the study originated.

The argument resides into the origins of Alchemy, some say its from Greece and others say its from Egypt. I have found Alchemy being translated into “from Egypt” and “Black Earth” in Egyptian and taught by Tahuti or Hermes Trismegistus. Khem was another name for Egypt and also a God. Khem was knows as the creator of man and god of fertility, but eventually evolved into Amen Re and had a significant role in the middle kingdom. Khem was percieved with black skin too. I have found from my experiences, so far, many people accept this fact over Alchemy stemmed from Greece. Even The Greek applied the meaning to “chemistry”. There are accounts that state China made alchemy in 2500 CBE. The teachings of Alchemy took the scientific aspects of transmuitation of metal to symbolize how man connects to the Divine and betters himself. It was in The middle ages the tranformation of Gold was taken literal, when it was an esoteric practice. Then Isaac Newton, scientist and alchemist, pushed the boundaries of his works for modern science with the thoery of gravity. It has evolved into medicine and chemistry. Alchemists Jābir ibn Hayyān and Robert Boyle are known as the fathers of Alchemy.

The Art of Hermeticism was the art of trans mutation of the Self and a form of spiritual alchemy; thus making Hermeticism a form of psychology. It was the genius Charles Jung who intermixed alchemy with psychology and this transformed into a new twist on the metaphysical in general. Israel Regardie pushed Charles Jung’s theories to the next plane of study by the application of the Golden Dawn and tradition of the scientific approach these group of educated men used in the metaphysical practices.

Astrology was an art that is basic and almost every culture in the world had their own version of this study of the stars. The studies of the stars and planets in the sky, including the sun and moon, were held sacred and a way of life. The reason the stars were used in ceremony and held to religious views were for their measurements of the seasons, years, days, and hours. Time of season dictates what plants should planted and harvested, obviously when something directs when to plant and harvest your food source then it will be exalted to the spiritual by means of survival. It was the men who took this spiritual study of with the movement of the sky, which ruled time and food supply indicators, to the physical study in depth. It was men like Galileo who did experimentation to prove the earth was round and an old thoery was wrong, thus evolving the old rites of magick into a science.

Numerology started out by spiritual means in the culture of the Chaldeans, Greek, Egypt, and so on with great philosophy. Most Ancient Egyptian Capitals were in the shape of an Enneagram, or 9 sided geometrical shape. The number 9 was representative of Horus to the Ancient Egyptians, 8 was Tahuti, 3 was Osiris, 2 was Isis, and other methods of counting. The Hebrews have thie own way counting as well called Gemetria, Rome used roman numeral, and so on. These many ways of counting were a kind of measurement, ways to organize for warfare and hunt, divide tribes, and served many other functions that are primal to nature. It evolved into weight, mass, liquid measurement, and distant to an exact degree; once again lost their metaphysical meanings an values that go with it.

These are a few examples to how magick has evolved into science and are ever changing. Magick will always be ever changing, it will be made into science, and also serve for spiritual functions. For this reason we are inspired to write down our results of magical experimentation, so our thoughts can evolve and carry on. Mankind needs magick to evolve and change in a healthy way to our psychological, spiritual, and physical functions we serve in the life we live. So to walk blindly in misconcieved judgment about what magick truly is maybe considerably ignorant. Magick is all around you if you look at these spiritual practices that became a relevant science. Observe and learn from magick. Be the magician to move mankind in a positive light, every written document and magical philosophical is important.

ALIENS OR ANGELS ON THE SCENE

Aliens, UFOs, ETs… these are the names that we gave to those so-called creatures from other planets. These terms refer to something, which is flying up in the sky and we cannot determined if it is a bird, a plane, if it is a supernatural well-being, or a creature from Mars, Venus or Jupiter. A lot of stories and endless talks were heard that they saw a moving ray of light or a colorful light in the sky that just disappeared in a split seconds.

On the other hand, from a Judeo-Christian perspective, they claimed that the stars and galaxies would be inhabited by angels. That there are standing and fallen angels. Beliefs that those flying above us that can’t be explained are angels on the move.

Such reports exist all throughout modern human history and right up to present day.

Today, most people tend to view angels as one of two things. They’re depicted as being either a Cherub—a human-looking baby with fluffy white wings—or a tall, regal divine being, often with a golden halo hovering above their heads and/or glowing with some inner light of peace and tranquility.

The former are especially prevalent each year as St. Valentine’s Day rolls around and we see Cupid’s image plastered hither and yon for the purpose of selling candy, greeting cards, lingerie and anything and everything else, it seems, that can have a romantic spin.

The latter are everywhere, seemingly all the time, year around, either used as pitchmen for various religions in the hopes of converting everyone on the planet to their doctrine or, at the very least, as protectors and guides—the stereotypical guardian angel.

Personally, I have two spirit guides/guardians. Neither has ever appeared to me in anything much resembling the cold, glowing, haloed, aristocratic, haughty depictions so common when speaking of angels. Both actually seem to find that idea and personification of angels humorous.

Yet, that image and the religious beliefs that accompany it are do deeply ingrained in such a large number of people that it makes this a difficult topic for many to talk, read or even think about. For many, those images and beliefs are so deeply ingrained that the mere thought of thinking of angels as something other than regal, divine messengers or protectors is viewed by them to be blasphemy.

However, angels are very different from that in the lore behind the religious zeal and fervor. Like Santa Claus, the true origins of these beings, they’re true personification, has become so well hidden behind marketing ploys that the façade has become “common knowledge” and the truth is something that very few people seem to know or care about. When dealing with jolly old Saint Nicholas, not having the slightest idea about the truth behind the modern image probably won’t really affect you one way or the other.

Angels, on the other hand, can be very dangerous creatures and such lack of knowledge can put you at a very distinct disadvantage.

Historically, angels appear physically to be very different from the modern peaceful marketing images that are used so extensively these days to try and convert people to various religions. In truth, angels appear to be extremely frightening.

They are said to be giant beings.

Some are said to have as many as twelve heads. Angels with the faces of animals—crocodiles, lions, oxen, cattle or birds—are common. Some are even said to appear with the bodies of serpents.

Rather than the normally depicted single pair of wings, some angels are said to have two, three or more sets of wings.

Some accounts have them as appearing with multiple pairs of eyes or even as nothing more than a huge burning wheel—something that makes me think that in at least some cases of reported sightings of these beings the witnesses were actually spotting a UFO.

Angels are said to be able to travel anywhere with simply a thought, a power that allows them to be pretty much anywhere at any time, making them next to impossible to run from. Other beings are said to have this ability as well, but it’s especially prevalent in angel lore.

So, when speaking of angels, we’re talking about powerful, giant, monstrous beings who can travel anywhere at the speed of thought. They are also, according to the lore, said to be frightening warriors, capable of slaying nearly any foe.

As said before, these things are potentially very dangerous.

The most common breakdown of their classification in the modern Western world is, from lowest-ranking to the highest:

Angels—these are said to be the ones who are said to have the most regular interaction with us on the Earthly plane.

Archangels—these are said to be the beings in charge of various “angel-centric” religions.

Principalities—these are said to be the rulers of nations.

Powers—these are said to be in charge of harmony in the Universe.

Virtues—these are said to be in charge of the working of miracles.

Dominations—these are, according to the lore, in charge of creating and planning. It is their plans which the lower orders of angels implement.

Thrones—these are said to be spend most of their time thinking and planning.

Cherubim—these are said to be beings of the truest wisdom.

Seraphim—these are said to be beings of pure love, as well as able to see and encompass everything in existence.

All in all, angels are generally thought of as beings of peace, light, love and purity. Yet they are workers and warriors. It is that warrior aspect of angels that can make them a threat. Truthfully, they are not something than anyone would want to confront in any type of combative situation or setting. Still, should the need arise, for any reason, there are a few things that we can do to protect ourselves from angels, in spite of their power and abilities. However, due to those powers exhibited by angels, there isn’t much that we can do.

The only things a human can truly do in regards to protection against angels is to simply ask, with the utmost politeness and courtesy, the being in question not harm you and leave you alone. Most people, when faced with an angel, report a sense of peace or tranquility after the contact. Yet, due to the sometimes monstrous appearance of angels, people are not always happy to have contact with them.

Again, if faced with such a situation, the best—and really only—option when dealing with angels is to simply ask for them to leave you alone.

Thought-forms are another option.

Simply put, thought-forms are constructs of pure energy that are created by a practitioner of magick and tasked with something. Not everyone is comfortable using them because of the close parallels to slavery. Personally, I resisted the idea myself for a long while before finally creating my first thought-form several years ago.

Thought-forms can be made to appear in any form or shape and they can be tasked with undertaking anything. One of the most common uses for them is protection.

Creation of a thought-form is fairly basic and straightforward.

The very first thing you need to do is to decide what your thought-form is going to be doing—general protection of yourself or someone else, protection against some very specific threat, helping you to locate a particular type of job, etc.

Once you know the purpose that you want your thought-form to serve, you need to decide what it will look like to begin with. I say “to begin with” because thought-forms can change and alter over time, especially as they’re given more energy. Like most beings, thought-forms learn over time. They can, and often will if given the leeway to do so, alter their own appearance and take on more individuality as they age. Since they consist of pure energy, their shapes are malleable and your thought-form may, if not expressly told not to, alter its shape or colors at some point.

Now that you know what your thought-form will be doing and what this thought-form will look like, it’s time to begin the actual creation of it.

Start off by obtaining energy from some natural source—the Earth, the sun, the moon, the currents of the air around you, etc.—remembering not to drain your own energy reserves as this could well leave you feeling weak or sick.

Once you are channeling energy from your chosen source into yourself, hold your hands before you, palms facing each other and only a few inches apart.

Now, visualize the energy you are channeling as flowing to your shoulders, then down your arms to your hands. Let the energy gently stream from your hands and form a sphere of pure energy between your palms.

At this point, you’ll most likely be feeling the pleasant tingling sensation marking the path the energy is taking through you. You’re very likely to be feeling a far stronger tingle between your hands, where the energy is collecting to create the first step of the actual creation of your thought-form. If you’re very lucky and channeling an unusually high amount of energy, you might even be able to physically see this glowing sphere of energy as it forms and floats between your hands.

Begin “programming” this energy with the reason for the thought-form’s creation. To do this, simply concentrate mentally on the reason for the thought-form’s creation and send those thoughts into the energy streaming through you and collecting in the sphere between your hands. It is also very good at this point to also be adding something to the effect of “Harm None” into the “program”, After all, if such peaceful aspects are left out of the “programming” of your thought-form, it may well be that it becomes something that someone else would need protection from. This is something that is to be avoided.

Once this is underway, and while still doing this, begin to envision the energy sphere slowly taking on the shape and colors you want your thought-form to have.

Continue this process for as long of a time as you want and are able. The more energy your thought-form has to work with, the more effective it will be. In the “programming”, I let my own thought-forms know that it’s okay, even encouraged, for them to draw energy from the Earth, moon, sun, and any other natural sources they’re able to tap into, as long as they are not bringing harm to anyone or anything in any way.

When you stop sending energy into the infant thought-form it’s still apt to be invisible to you. You’ll only be able to actually see it if you’re very sensitive and have put an extreme amount of energy into your creation.

At this point, simply let your thought-form get to whatever task it was created to undertake.

Certain protective crystals—agate, especially eye agate, beryl, black tourmaline, blue chalcedony, coral, garnet, herkimer, diamond, malachite, pyrite, quartz, salt, sapphire, snowflake obsidian, tiger iron and turquoise—are all excellent.

There are entire traditions of magick that involve working with angels in a cooperative manner. Entire books exist on the subject, written by practitioners of these various traditions. Many websites can be found on the Internet that are likewise devoted to various angel magick traditions. Partaking in such a tradition, entering into a stable cooperative working relationship with angels, is truly likely to be your best defense against these beings should you ever find yourself in the unenviable situation of actually needing such a thing.
