The Battle of The Bulge

On the 16th December 1944 the German army launched what was to be their last major offensive of the Second World War. Its official title was ‘Operation Mist’ during the Ardennes Offensive and also given the name of the Battle of the Bulge. The battle was in the heavily forested area of the Ardennes and an attempt by the German forces to push the Allies front line back across northern France and northwestern Belgium.
