FBI arrest several users for piracy.

FBI have cracked down on multiple Megaupload users for piracy of Films and Music. Megaupload was a very popular Sharing site that was not only Ad-free but Virus-free and Spyware-free. It was the safest way to download from other people who just wanted to share old files. Ofcourse, some people shared some not so old files that incidently murdered the lovable site.

Megaupload founder Kim Dotcom (also known as Kim Schmitz), a 37-year-old German national and New Zealand resident, was arrested by New Zealand police in Auckland on Friday morning, the US Department of Justice said in a statement.

I never uploaded anything myself. I will admit, I downloaded a few games….. from 1998 that is, and to hell with the FBI if I have to spend $5.00 of a 14 year old game. The good thing about Megaupload is that it had everything we needed. Some people can’t buy old films and games because no one is selling them, not even online. Anything that is 10 years old should be free IMO, I mean the people who made the films don’t care enough to release them online themselves.

Now I’m ranting, not something I usually do but I’m in a bad mood.

Others arrested are the website’s chief marketing officer Finn Batato, 38, and chief technical officer and co-founder Mathias Ortmann, 40, both from Germany, and Dutch national Bram van der Kolk, 29, who is also a New Zealand resident.

Police executed provisional arrest warrants at the United States’ request, and other agencies – including the Organised and Financial Crime Agency, Crown Law and the Office of the Solicitor General provided “substantial and critical assistance”, the statement says.

The four face charges of engaging in a racketeering conspiracy, conspiring to commit copyright infringement, conspiring to commit money laundering and criminal copyright infringement.

The charges carry up to 20 years’ imprisonment.

Megaupload is not without controversy before. Last month, Megaupload published a music video titled: “The Mega Song”, showing artists including Snoop Dogg, Alicia Keys, Kanye West and Will.i.am endorsing the company. The song was uploaded to Youtue but was quickly removed by the Universal Music Group. Megaupload said that the video contained no infringing content, commenting: “we have signed agreements with every featured artist for this campaign”. Megaupload requested an apology from the Universal Music Group and filed a lawsuit against the company.

Seems like everyone is against the userfriendly site.

How detention and arrest can differ. Examples of detention.

What makes detention different from arrest?

Detention and arrest can both be used during an investigation. In many cases detention is used to temporary detain a person during an investigation or under suspicion of a theft or shoplifting. When I went into a store one time with a friend. She had stuck something in her pocket. We were both temporary detained while they presented a video of the suspicious theft. Instead of using arrest as a punishment. The store clerk, asked the girl if she had the item and when she replied no. She had to take them to where she left the item. They asked me a few questions and let me go. The girl was detained temporary and banned from the store for the theft and let go. Detention is a temporary punishment that limits a persons freedom and can prevent from leaving a certain area or building until after a solution is obtained. Detention is lesser consequence than arrest.

Arrest is a much worse punishment than detention. When it comes to arrest suspicion is not enough for an arrest. An arrest can also lead to questioning as well, but is more serious than just detaining and questioning for suspicion of a crime. A person that is considered under arrest is proven to be a threat to themselves and other persons or property. After a crime is committed and they are considered a threat, the individual will be apprehension and presented into the criminal justice system.

A man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and assault. Find out what happened in this article.

I read an article about a man arrested on suspicion of burglary and assault that I wanted to share with you. It’s not unusual for someone to be arrested for suspicion of burglary and assault, but what the man did is strange.

The news
In Orange County, a man named Augustin Sanchez broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home and crawled into her bed. He wanted to cuddle with her before attempting to remove her underwear. The girlfriend was sleep at the time when her ex-boyfriend crawled into her bed.

The ex-girlfriend called the police at 6:30 a.m. The ex-girlfriend said that her ex-boyfriend broke into her home by cutting her window screen. He pushed her bedroom window open and entered her home.

According to the police, Augustin Sanchez was drunk when he went to his ex-girlfriend’s house. The ex-girlfriend was able to get away from him and called the police. Augustin was still in her home when the police showed up.

Augustin Sanchez was arrested and charged with burglary and sexual assault.

My thoughts
This story was a surprise to me. Augustin Sanchez took a big risk sneaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home. He would have to be drunk to do something like this. Now you know that you are not safe in your home anymore when your ex-boyfriend/girlfriend could break into your home so easily.

I wonder if the window was open when he broke in the house. If it wasn’t, it’s scary how easily he was able to break in the house while the window was closed. Luckily she was able to get away from Augustin before he could rape her.

What are your thoughts on the man arrested on suspicion of burglary and assault? What do you think would have happened if she didn’t call the police? Do you think he will go to jail or will he be let off the hook?

Video collection of the most triumphant and tragic moments of 2011.

2011 was an interesting year to say the least. There were protests, insurrections, and revolutions by oppressed people desiring change on every continent. The occupy movement which started on Wall street and spread around the globe demonstrated that people could organise in peaceful protest..

There were environmental disasters like the earthquakes in Japan. Mass fish, bird, other wildlife and allot of celebrity deaths. R.I.P Heavy D! In between all this there were great moments in sports, media, music and entertainment.

Also there were massive illegal, unsanctioned, detainment and assassinations without people ever being tried in court. While most Americans were eating Turkey and stuffing, the president was reviewing a bill which abolishes the Constitution and institutes martial law. Under The NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) Section 1031 which has been changed to Section 1021 gives the president the right to assassinate any US citizen suspected of being a terrorist. No proof…suspected. Google Bill NDAA for more information and check the video about it below. Along with a collection of clips highlighting the triumphs and tragedies of 2011.

Woman who shot and killed her husband 11 times has been sentenced to five years in prison.

Barbara Sheehan was some time ago arrested for killing her husband has been sentenced to 5 years in prison.

Barbara had shot her husband, Raymond Sheehan, 11 times in their home in Howard Beach in February 2008. According to the police, she used two guns

Convicted Barbara claimed she fired in self-defense after her husband had first threatened her life with one of the guns.

Ms. Sheehan was acquitted of murder, but convicted of gun possession — the second gun that she used that day.

Acting Justice Barry Kron of State Supreme Court in Queens admitted that Ms. Sheehan took such an action due to the cumulative toll of two decades of domestic abuse by Raymond Sheehan but the sentence had to reflect her crime.

Ms. Sheehan was found guilty by the jurors of gun possession. This was because, she used the gun after her husband posed no danger as he had already been shot and killed by her with a different gun.

Judge Kron had the discretion to send the accused to prison for 2 and half years and another 2 and half of supervised release.

Barbara Sheehan was allowed to remain free on $1 million bail pending her appeal verdict.

Ms. Sheehan who is a school secretary leaving the State Supreme Court told a passer-by who hugged her to keep praying for her.

Being a witness of a heinous act and then not reporting it to the government bodies is nothing less than a crime. We need to be brave enough to stand up what is against the ethics of the nation.

Over the years, crime has been on the rise in our country. Everyday, several cases of rape, attempt to murder, kidnapping, human trafficking, exploitation, drug abuse and molestation are coming up. Keeping in mind the present scenario of our country, it seems that the government is hardly taking any steps to improve the condition of the nation which is already in doldrums. What’s worst is that people are committing crimes without any fear of the government bodies. Mostly, the crime in the mega cities has increased to a large extent. When we talk about the mega cities, it refers to the cities having a population of more than 1 million or 10 lacks. Ever since1991, the number of such cities has increased. In 1991, India had around 23 cities with such problems which in 2001 became 35. It is also because of the ever prevalent socio economic problems in our country that the crime has been increasing.

According to the rate of crime (IPC), the average rate of crime in the urban areas was 318.6 compared to the nation’s crime rate of 181.4. The figures speak volumes about the state of our nation, years after the nation’s independence. The domain state had less cases of crime registered compared to the crime cases in the cities. In places like Kolkata, Asansol, Madurai and Chennai, the crime rate was comparatively low. For instance, the crime rate in Dhanbad (123.7) was higher than the crime rate of Jharkhand (122.6). In 2009, the national crime rate came down by a marginal 0.6 % while the crime rate in the cities increased by 1 %. Not to forget the fact that ‘unemployment’ remains the major reason of the increase in crime rates in the nation. Youngsters, who come to metropolitan cities, hunting for jobs, and fail to get one, fall a victim to the unethical activities. Given below are the names of the top 10 crime spots in our country along with their crime rates.

1) Bhopal = 836.4

2) Indore = 860.3

3) Jaipur = 722.4

4) Kochi = 646.3

5) Bengaluru = 569.4

6) Jabalpur = 554.6

7) Patna = 515.9

8) Vijaywada = 512.4

9) Lucknow = 462.4

10) Ahemdabad= 458.6

The citizens of Kolkata can take heart from the fact that their city is the Mega City which has the least number of crime cases which is 103. The total number of crimes stated in the IPC is 22 compared to the 21 crime names that have been registered under the SLL. Under such names are encapsulated crimes like female infanticide, crime against women, cases of dowry and much more. In the past few years, the two cities that have shown a decrease in the number of crimes are Kanpur and Surat. We cannot only reprimand the Indian Government for the fiasco. We, the citizens of India, are, in some way or the other, responsible for the current situation of our country. Knowing or unknowingly, we pave way for the crimes that are committed by our countrymen whom we brand as criminals.

It is time that we start to take appropriate measures that mitigate issues regarding criminals and their crimes. However before this, we also need to solve our socio economic problems which are a major gateway to the crimes that are committed in our country. Being a witness of a heinous act and then not reporting it to the government bodies is nothing less than a crime. We need to be brave enough to stand up what is against the ethics of the nation.

Hey – if this could deliver consideration to what a horrible concept it is to drive drunk, then it is worth a shot!

TLC has ordered a brand new sequence in the same vein of COPS referred to as D.U.I., which will deal with Oklahoma law enforcement as they pull over drunk-driving suspects, after which interrogate, as well as presumably arrest and sentence!

Six episodes will debut subsequent month, with one other set in 2012!

This is hoping that this may function an eye fixed-opener for some about how any such crime is ACCURATELY prosecuted!

“It was the most ridiculous chain of events that happened,” she said while sobbing Monday. “It’s still hard to believe what happened.”

Leszczynski, 28, and her husband Marcin, 33, were handcuffed, searched then released on $50 bail each. Their ordeal at the police station lasted a few hours, but their daughter Zofia spent the night away from her parents in a case that has sparked nationwide outrage and forced the Safeway supermarket chain to review the incident.

The family had moved to an apartment near downtown Honolulu from California two weeks ago. Still settling in, they ventured out Wednesday to stock up on groceries, took the bus, got lost, and ended up at a Safeway supermarket.

Famished, the former Air Force staff sergeant picked up the two sandwiches that together cost $5. She openly munched on one while they shopped, saving the wrapper to be scanned at the register later.

But they forgot to pay for the sandwiches as they checked out with about $50 worth of groceries.

“When the security guard questioned us, I was really embarrassed, I was horrified,” she said. They were led upstairs, where the couple expected to get a lecture, pay for the sandwiches, and be allowed on their way.

But store managers wouldn’t allow them to pay for the sandwiches, she said.

“I asked to talk to a manager and he said it was against their policy to pay for items that left the store,” she said. “The security guard said we were being charged with shoplifting.”

Four hours later, a police officer arrived and read them their rights. A woman from the state Child Welfare Services arrived to take Zofia away.

The pregnant mother said she tried to keep her composure until Zofia, who turns 3 in December, left the store. “I didn’t want Zofia to be scared because she’s never spent a night away from us. She didn’t have her stuffed animal. She didn’t have her toothbrush.”

But as soon as her daughter left, “I got completely hysterical. I went to the bathroom and I threw up,” she recalled.

A Honolulu police spokeswoman said it was procedure to call Child Welfare Services if a child is present when both parents are arrested. The store’s management did not know the girl would be taken away, said Susan Houghton, a spokeswoman for California-based Safeway Inc.

The national supermarket chain said it was looking into the incident. “It was never our intent to separate a mother from her child. That was a very unfortunate consequence to this situation,” Houghton said. “We understand the outrage. We are concerned about how this was handled.”

Leszczynski called the incident “so horrifying, it seemed to escalate and no one could say, ‘this is too much.’”

The couple was handcuffed and driven separately to police headquarters a few blocks away, where they were searched, had their mug shots taken and then released after paying bail. A police officer escorted them back to the store — which banned them for a year, Leszczynski said — where they picked up their groceries and walked home just before midnight.

“We basically stared at each other all night. We woke up at the crack of dawn and called (the state child welfare office),” Leszczynski said. While they waited, Leszczynski vented about the experience on babycenter.com and contacted a lawyer for help with being reunited with Zofia. At the lawyer’s suggestion, they took their story to the media.

Zofia was returned after an 18-hour separation from her parents.

The couple is charged with fourth-degree theft, a petty misdemeanor, and has a court date on Nov. 28, according to the city prosecutor’s office. The family hasn’t decided whether it will pursue legal action against Safeway.

Houghton said the company will review the police report and store security footage before deciding whether to press charges.

A trainee pastor held for murder.

In one of our top leading newspaper stories early this week, a a trainee pastor was held for murder. Apparently, charged for murder of her lover’s wife. Seagree Govender, 44, a trainee pastor, was arrested along with her 37-year-old lover.

You think you have heard it all, until this moment, just recently. You sit at home, you are looking through these stories and when you hear that it’s a true story, you are spocked. A trainee pastor, a man of God arrested for murder. He was supposed to be along with God and to be accountable for the word of God, and now this … Ho can a trainee pastor be arrested for murder?

I don’t think any of us like to hear of a murder, or someone being arrested. Maybe someone you know, could be your best friend, and all this time, you never knew it, you didn’t think that someone you know can be capable of commtting a murder. You might have divulged private information to this trainee pastor, a man of God … it doesn’t make sense to us, why do people go to such lengths. When you take a life, that part of the soul dies inside of you, I believe that. You have tresspassed against something sacred, you take life; you can’t be a trainee pastor and pretend that everything was all right. This may be a sensitive subject to some people, but murder? You never think it would be someone so close to the clergy. You never think that someone you knew, someone you trusted and confided in, could be as ruthless, as deadly, as cunning to take someone’s life, and commit this deadly crime.

Not only that, you don’t know who you can trust anymore. You think you are safe, and even in your own homes. You cannot prevent all disasters and sometimes a crisis creeps into our lives, there no control …but we can prevent some crimes. You can make sure your children do not walk to school or alone, they are with friends. You can protect your home with security systems, even tv monotir cameras, and make sure you have burglar bars, you are surrounded by. You can have sensors that dectect movement in the house, you can have a trained dog do the patrolling for you. You can have a house watch team in your neighbourhood. You can have people patrol your area and know what to look out for. I hope this be useful, but do not let your children walk alone to school. You think that it’s safe, it will never happen to them.
