At a time when the crisis hits hard in Europe, entrepreneurs seek to promote the use of promotions difficult to let go. Offerings include upscale restaurants and wine tasting.

Girona is, for National Geographic , one of the best destinations for 2012 and, as a way to get more publicity about its tourism sector offered the nights in upscale hotelsfor only 10 euros the night for the weekend of 14 and January 15.

In addition to the high level lodgings, were also available hotels 1 to 4 stars , hostels, pensions and various spaces for rural tourism.

Of course, upon learning of the offer, took no more than 15 minutes to complete the building, but considering the good acceptance, it is possible that at any time to return. That, at least, is the desire of several of the entrepreneurs.

The offer was not only hotel in the area, as some 50 restaurants in the area said that at the time, have available 10 euros promotional menus, and wine tastings for the same price , if at any time not cost less than 30 euros.

A brief introduction to sustainable development and maintenance culture and how positive the two are to national development and progress.

This is a process of ensuring that development of a project or property is kept functioning effectively and efficiently for a very long time. It can also be a condition of using, managing and ensuring the continuous existence and availability of physical and natural resource for use of present and future generations.

Maintenance culture refers to the habit of serving or repairing tools, infrastructure and other facilities regularly. This attitude ensures mending or repairing things that are damaged before they are further deteriorated. This ensures the continuous existence and use of the items or facilities.

This may go in line with the popular phrase or proverb that says, “A stitch in time saves nine”.

Ten key facts and details on the Royal wedding between Prince William of Wales and Kate Middleton on 29th April, 2011 at the Westminster Abbey, London.

1. It is highly speculated that Prince William will be made Duke of Sussex after the marriage ceremony

2. There are also available titles such as Duke of Clarence and Duke of Cambridge

3. Earlier reports in December 2010 said the Prince did not want any other title and wanted to be just a prince

4. If the couple do not take any title, they will be know as His or Her Royal Highness

5. The couple has approved a wide-range of high quality ceramic ware to be made for the Royal Collection

6. The souvenirs bear the intertwined initials of the both under the prince’s coronet.

7. A list of memorabilia including official mugs, porcelain pill pots, plates etc. will be made

8. The memorabilia would have the pictures of the couple and also the official coat of arm of the prince

9. All souvenirs and memorabilia are to be sold

10. It is estimated that the sale of the souvenirs and memorabilia will generate about £44 million

Cell phone users are forced to accept the service offered by the cell phone network service providers. That is because cell phones have become as exxential to life as water.

There are few things that people need everyday to stay alive. We all need water on a daily basis. We need to eat daily. We need air, warmth and clothing. And we need our cell phones.

Few pieces of technology have been as successful as the cell phone. Perhaps the invention of the original telephone by Alexander Graham Bell in 1876 is the closest parallel. Eventually, everyone – or at least every household – had to have a phone. The development of telephone exchanges and the spread of the technology was very slow compared to the spread of modern technology. It was only during the second half of the twentieth century that the landline became full universal and available.

Cell phone networks, by contrast, spread like wild-fire. Now every man, woman and child has to have one. Everyone, from the poorest beggar on the street corner to the richest of the rich has at least one cell phone.

It seems that the world can not function without these devices that make everyone contactable 24 hours of every day. There is no escape, and to switch the thing off is considered irresponsible.

No matter where we go and no matter what we are doing, we have our cell phones turned on, waiting for the call. We are always available. Always on call.

The cell phone, it seems, has become as essential to life as water.

Private charities are funded on a volunteer basis by donors who choose to help finance them. Government programs obtain the financing from taxes paid by the American people on an involuntary basis. With government programs there are procedures, protocols and regulations that have to be followed. There are formulas that have to be used to determine eligibility. Unfortunately, this takes time and it is impossible for everyone to fall into one specific category, but the formula can only use data able to be entered into a computer to decide who is eligible. It cannot take into consideration other factors that a private charity can. Therefore, some people that should be eligible are not given help and others that are not eligible are given help. The government’s system lacks the ability to consider specific situations and circumstances that private charities can.

PROGRAM FUNDING

As we all know government programs are funded with taxpayers tax dollars. Private charities are funded by several sources, sometimes they even receive government funding. The amount of money that charities have to help the poor is minute compared to the government dollars spent on the fight against poverty. As posted by the Office of Management and Budget in the Department of Health and Human Services section of the White House website, in 2009, the government spent over 761 Billion dollars on the Department of Health and Human Services alone (p. 79). In 2008, U.S charitable giving was estimated to be around 307 billion dollars (Giving USA, 2009), less than half of the amount spent by the Department of Health and Human Services. With 37 million people in poverty in the United States, according to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2007 (as cited in Kirst-Ashman, 2010, p. 206), it is apparent that neither the government or private charities can fight the war against poverty alone. We need both and we need more from each.

DISPERSING THE FUNDS

The time it takes to get approved for government programs can be long but private aid organizations can take immediate action if a situation calls for it. An example of the lack of fluidity possible in governmental organizations is a vehicle voucher program available to some unemployed needy families in Genesee County. The program’s intention is to provide safe and reliable transportation for the family to commute to and from work. Due to the requirements of the program some of the recipients have trouble actually redeeming the voucher and getting a car. It is required that the recipient find a car at a licensed dealer, take it to a licensed auto mechanic to be inspected, both the dealer and the auto mechanic have to sign the voucher. Then the voucher is returned to a caseworker who starts the process to actually get the money to pay for the car. This process takes between 4-6 weeks and the majority of car dealers are not willing to wait that long to sell the vehicle or do not have vehicles in stock that qualify for the program, therefore they decline participation in the program (A. Cockrum, personal communication, October 9, 2010). Love In the Name of Christ (Love INC) is a non profit cooperative that links churches, volunteers, and service agencies and helps them to organize their efforts by reaching out to the poor and disadvantaged. When Sharon Griffith had a vehicle to donate Love INC was able to find a needy family and was able to send that family to the Griffith home to pick up the donated vehicle. There was no wait for the recipient at all (personal communication, October 16, 2010).

The government is more effective at serving the needs of people living in poverty than private charities although private charities are more efficient. In a perfect world, charities would have the funding available to them that are available to government programs. Charities do not have enough funding to fulfill the needs of the needy in the United States of America. Policies and procedures that must be followed make the government programs less efficient than private charities, but the amount of money available to spend make the government more effective at helping people in poverty.

I have been writing a lot of articles on the perspective on how fans can help promote artists and there is a lot on line on how artists can help each other. Still I like to discuss the ethics an artist should consider against his/her fans.

Some guidelines that might be useful for an artist on how to handle fans.

Honesty and respect

Like any relationship one between an artist and a fan should also be based on honesty. An artist might need fans to survive. They are the people who preserve your livelihood. They do deserve respect.

One of the things that is really a wrong way to go, is petting your fans like friends, but dump them when they are in trouble. This is really painful and people you hurt will lose respect for you and are you willing to buy anything from a person you do not respect (anymore)?

Another thing that is completely unethically is playing available while you are not.

There are artists that state themselves single on their website and charm fans of the opposite sex. Do not flirt with you fans, since this can have serious consequences.

Keep in mind that you do have some power over a fan and we are all people who all have our feelings. Not all might appreciate this.

Some fans might actually get feelings for you and when you cannot answer them, you will hurt people. Also some fans might be in a relationship and partners might get jealous. You might screw up relationships this way.

It is really completely not respectful to anybody when an artist is in a relationship and does not announce this to fans to remain popular.

This is fooling fans and if you know that many of your fans are in love with you, check if you are selling your work or yourself. Also is this very downgrading to your partner.

If a partner has problems with your profession and with your fans, you might reconsider if you have a right partner or the right profession. You may actually doubt the intentions of a partner that does not want to be mentioned, but does not mind you flirting with fans either.

Your might see your friends different than your fans, but when you treat your fans like friends, keep in mind they might see you that way. When they need you as a friend and you dump them like just fans, you might wonder how they will see you.

Are you still willing to buy a book from a writer who has been sweet to you for a while, but does not want to see you anymore, because the flirtation cost you your marriage?

Or does music of an musician that hurt you badly sounds still great?

Yes, you might keep some privacy and normal fans will respect that. There are details you may better keep to yourself, but making nice comments on people first and dump them later, when they earned you enough is impolite.

Your audience deserve all your respect. All you should do is make sure they are happy with the art you are producing and selling.

Do your best to become a better artist and the fans will be pleased. You really do not need to charm them. Happy fans will also gladly promote you and you really do no need to flatter them for that. If you do so, you might risk breaking hearts and in the end all what your promoters will share with their friends is how hurt and insulted they are and not how nice your work is.

Those are fans you lose and at their turn they can discourage others. So flirtation is not a great way to promote yourself.

Working from home does work. It just takes time and effort to get home jobs working for you.

Working from home does work. It just takes time and effort to get home jobs working for you. Currently have five different business’s. With these ideas, it makes you able to stay at home and work out of the comfort that I love.

First idea was to start a Photo Party group. These parties are just like candle parties or Avon, or Mary Kay. Go to peoples homes and sell your prints. Work out a price plan and have some of your prints available for up front purchases. Supply cheap frames, and get orders out quickly and on time. People will keep coming back. Offer parties to everyone all different groups of people. Host can receive free products for offering their house and friends to become your new clients. Have games planned with prizes that have something to do with what ever it is you choose to sell.

You can sell homemade crafts, photos, scrapbook pages, baking, cooking, preserves, you just have to find out what you like to do and try having a party to get things started. They are tons of fun and you meet so many new people.

Another idea would be to offer sewing and hemming of clothing and basic blankets and pillow shames. By doing this you can make some side coin while, you are at home. Offer the same rate as other people or a little bit cheaper and people will come to you or you can go to them if you do not like the idea of having strangers in your house.

Offer website design for small companies and groups. Many people would love to have a website but just do not have the time or knowledge to do something like that. If you could make their website and operate it for them, you can make some serious coins, if you get clients in the right fields. Look for the sports groups, old folk’s homes, day care providers, schools, stores, studios.

Forth idea is to offer lessons. There are so many different lessons you can give to someone. From music, tutoring, sports, fitness, art, photography, cooking, sewing, knitting, computer. Tons of things. What are you good at? What could you teach someone? Offer your skills and see what comes of it. It is also a way to feel useful and smart.

The fifth option could be anything really. You can do so many more things from the comfort of your home or out of your home in your local city. Working for your self can mean childcare, house sitting, pet sitting, dog walking, pet grooming, spring-cleaning indoors or outdoors.

Working from home is fun and exciting. You are not limited to one option. You can open you doors to anything that best suits your hobbies and enjoyments. Give it a try and show yourself their is something out there for you, even if your stuck working from home.

When looking at the same thing brings different perspectives.

Perception, that curious viewpoint into the mind…I guess it’s what you call your own personal reality. What‘s your reality? Hypothetically let me share two separate takes on the same scenario. First visualize I’m in a room and the temperature is 78 degrees, I’m hot and clammy, my skin is sweaty. Slow shallow, and labored breathing, and my nipples cling to my clothing. I begin to wipe the sweat off of me. Miserable day you may think. Now here is scenario number two; my moist skin glistens as I slowly trace the outline of the sweat on my neck. My fingers gentle travels down between the crevice of my breast, as my hands lay there unable to move, while I breathe slow and deeply. My nipples cutely poke thru the silk of my blouse. A covering of heat intensified the sultry 78 degree room temperature. How sensuous is that picture? Let me venture off into another detour into perceptions. I’ve told my significant other that I loved them; Also I would like them to inform me of changes in their movement throughout the day, for safety reasons. I’m overwhelmed with unbridled excitement of our next encounter, while I secretly wish to be able, to bring them sunshine at every moment. How I wish I could pluck a star out of the sky and give it to them. As well as being available to them at a moments notice. This is perception number two; valid as well. My significant other is in love with me. Fact two every time I’m not in their presence, I have to give an itinerary of my movements. Only time they appear happy is when they see everything that I do. They always make their selves available to me when I beckon, but that’s fine. If they love me, then they should. I only want to know where they are if I need something. It’s good to know they are always near. I don’t believe that I’m being selfish, I’m grown why should I have to be accountable? If a person’s in love then what action or road seems more appropriate? “The answer really lies in… your perceptions”.

Teaching a dyslexic student can be a challenge, but these resources can make it easier.

I did some digging and found several highly recommended resources to use when teaching dyslexic students. I decided to gather them and put together this handy list for those of you who are dealing with dyslexia.

Lexia Learning’s Strategies for Older Students. You can do this daily for approximately 20 minutes. It is targeted toward children ages 9 and up. This is a computer program that is interactive and helps dyslexic students learn to read. The price is approximately $159.

Lindamood-Bell “Seeing Stars” book helps with learning sight words The teacher’s manual is approximately $45.

The Language Tool Kit from EPS Books. This is an instruction manual with flash cards. It goes for approximately $39.

McGraw-Hill Spectrum Word Study (available through Christian Books, but not a Christian curriculum). You can do a workbook page every day. There is also one called Spectrum Word Study and Phonics (available through Amazon too). These are great reinforcement as a supplemental curriculum, but not enough to use as a stand-alone curriculum. They are around $8.

Sonlight’s American History. There is a lot of reading involved in the Sonlight curriculum, which gives the dyslexic student lots of practice developing reading skills. The books used in the Sonlight curriculum are very engaging, and children usually enjoy reading them. The teacher’s guide is around $59. Then you can purchase reading books one by one as you need them. They range from $3.99 to $30.99 each. You also might be able to find them in the library at no cost to you.

The Gift of Dyslexia (Paperback) by Ronald D. Davis, Eldon M. Braun I have read some great reviews on this book about dramatic changes that took place when the techniques mentioned where implemented. I have also read that the exercises in this book are fun to do.

Lindamood-Bell: www.lindamoodbell.org. I have read of great results following this program as well.

“Reading Reflex” by McGuinness. Read the first three chapters and then give your child the tests in the book.

Sound Reading CD from http://www.soundreading.com. This computer CD is about $60, and it is a great supplement for any reading program. The students can do it on their own once they understand the program. This CD starts at a pre-K level and works up to about a middle-third grade level.

To help with memorizing math facts, Math Facts the Fun Way would be good. You can follow this up with the software you can find at
theQuarterMile Math.com
. Using this for 10 minutes a day (preferably with you doing the keyboarding so more practice is packed into that ten minutes) is very helpful for most kids to practice math facts.
