The river is important historically and symbolically, because it supports the density of the government figures. In the correct formula, from a bible perspective, Jesus was baptize.

There is no river in the entire world quiet capture the holy spirit of a place like the Ganges , India is where it all happens, it is the waterway that rises in the Himalayas, and channels through to the bay of Bengal, passing over 1500 miles through to the sacred cities of Varanasi.

Hindus personify the river as the goddess Ganga, and it is believed that bathing in the waters can cure people of sickness, and liberate love ones that has been decease from the cycle of life and death. Water is used for confession and commitment, as well as for bathing.

Meaning of the use of water in baptism

The river is important historically and symbolically, because it supports the density of the government figures. In the correct formula, from a bible perspective, Jesus was baptize, pledging himself to the work of the father, but salvation is not dependent upon physical element of water, baptism provides a foundation for the act of greater spiritual understanding.

The Ganga river has caught my attention, it reminds me of what God expects water to do, Christians are born of the water and of the spirit, water for purity and spirit for new life, with purification rites and prayer, some ministers use the sprinkling of water to conduct the message around baptism, and through the sign of holy water people accept that they are saved.

Baptism means to be immerse in water

When people are baptize being fully submerge in water, they can make underwater vows, rendering the old life to be passed away, and the rise from the liquid pool in the newness of life. Some children baptizing at a tender age, and although they are not fully enlightened they are making a spiritual connection with providence. Water baptism is a symbolic of death burial and resurrection, publicly declares by those who have accepted Jesus Christ and have made Him their Lord and savior.

Water baptism is a public confession

The symbolism of declaration is death burial and resurrection, baptism makes a break from the past and begins the transformation into a new creation, one that is save by grace and not by works, in the category of faith, baptism is the answer of a good conscience.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:8

People go on pilgrimage to be baptize in holy water, they look forward to the union of the spirit and the soul, water is a metaphor of the Holy Spirit, it can also be describe as living water flowing out of the belly, like a secret offering unto God.

He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall Flow Rivers of living water, Faith flow form the inner most parts of the heart.

MATTHEW 28:19

19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

As we devote our lives and walk with God in prayer, instead of us dipping in water to quench our thirst, we become much more proactive, we are the vessels and container of the Holy Spirit and it is permissible, that others outside the equation of Christianity can draw some spiritual knowledge form us.

The best time for burial is when death has been confirm, that old man has died and a new person rises in the newness of Christian values, motives, and principles.

ACTS 2:38

38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Here is a river and this river is in our heart, it shall flow like a fountain, and extend its wonderful blessings to many others, thus the river is an abundant supply with desires large and liberal.

See what may happen on the 11th of September 2010...

At least so says David Petraeus, master of none other than international coalition in Afghanistan, which pulls this way an alarm about the public burning of the holy book of Muslims by members of a Baptist church in Florida. Their gesture will take place on September 11, this year, and wants to be a “remembrance” extreme terrorist attacks of September 2001.

International Coalition commander in Afghanistan said that if an American Baptist church will put into practice its promise to burn in public world premiere, a copy of the Koran, during this week, on September 11, this gesture will put in threatening the lives of U.S. troops in theaters of military operations and U.S. interests in the Muslim world.

Two other high degree of order with the U.S. Army have reinforced General Petraeus saying, adding that the live television broadcast of burning the Koran would undermine efforts to bring President Obama S.UA. of the 1.5 billion Muslims around the world.

If this event, which is already strongly objected to Muslim communities worldwide, will be implemented, then things could get out of control. Religious sacrilege could downgrade a chain reaction with unexpected consequences for global geopolitics.

“It’s an unexpected gift for the Taliban and Islamic fanatics as it is exactly the kind of action that Muslim extremists are using as a pretext for jihad,” continues General Petraeus. Ad burning Koran already triggered street protests and serious threats in Afghanistan and Indonesia, a country where most Muslims live in the world.

Dove Baptist Church World Outreach Center in the city of Gainesville, Florida, invites all practicing Christians regardless of church that belongs to attend on September 11 to burn more copies of the Koran at the gates of the Baptist church, located about religious unity 500 km northeast of Miami.

The church already has an account on Facebook, which launched an online invitation to other churches to do the same gesture in memory of victims of terrorist attacks and the fight against “evil Islam.” Although authorities in Gainesville said that “the event will not be approved because contrary to the rules to avoid fire,” it seems like it takes place as an impressive crowd of faithful and curious to already tight waiting for combustion.

In response, the church pastor, Terry Jones, General Petraeus says the warnings are “legitimate” but: “We must send a message according to radical Islamists. This is our country and we will not accept their lifestyle, we are not afraid of them and sooner or later, will get what you deserve. “

The Church was the unifying force in the Middle Ages; most Europeans believed that only the Church could give eternal salvation. Church influence was so strong that Europe was referred to as "Christendom." The Church provided government services, ad its laws crossed political borders.

Old Chuch in Voronej District

The Church had grown enormously rich, as well. Its income was more than that of all the important kings and princes put together. Also, it often recieved large gift of land in addition to the tithe, or tenth part of a person’s income, that each member had to donate to the Church.

The Sacraments

The Church had developed a body of beliefs that all Christians accepted. Nost important were the seven sacraments: (1)Baptism, (2)confirmation, (3)penance, (4) the Holy Eucharist, (5) extreme unction, (6) matrimony, (7) holy orders. These sacraments were ceremonies believed to be necessary for salvation; but no one recieved all seven.

In baptism, a person – usually an infant – became a Christian. In confirmation, the individual crossed over from childhood to become an adult member of the Church. In penance, one confessed his or her sins and was forgiven. In the Holy Eucharist, a priest reenacted Jesus’ Last Supper with His disciples, and the people attending the service recieved consecrated bread and wine. A priest gave extreme unction to a dying person. All Church members recieved these five sacraments.

Of the two that remain, matrimony was the marriage ceremony, and holy orders were for men who became priests.

Church Rules

The CHurch had courts to help protect the weak and to punish those who had done wrong. It also tried clergymen for religious offenses. These people were judged by canon law – the law of the Church.

Heresy was considered the most horrible of all crimes against the Church. It was throught to be a crime against God, because it denied important religious teachings. The Church sought out heretics and punished them with excomminication. When a person was excommunicated, he or she was no longer considered a member of the Church and, therefore, could never go to heaven. Thus, the Church tried to persuade heretics to give up their beliefs. If a heretic refused, he usually burned at the stake.

Growing Strength

During the 10th century, the papacy depended upon the German king for pretection against feudal abuses, unruly Italian nobles, and Roman mobs. This arrangement led German kings to interfere in Church affairs, even in the election of popes.

During the 11th century, the monks at the Abbey of Cluny in France spoke out against kings and princes who interfered in church affairs. They started a reform program to remove all civil control over the Pope, stop kings and nobles from choosing bishops, and forbid the sale of Chruch jobs. In 1059, the College of Cardinals was created. It was to elect a successor to the Pope who whould be the choice of the Church, not of a king or a mob.

The power of the Church grew under the papacy of Innocent III (1198-1216), who clamied that his authority was above that of any other ruler and that the word of the Church was final. In 1213, he became the feudal lord when King John of England turned over his kingdom to the Pope and took it back as a fief. This made king John a vassal of Pope Innocent III, who made vassals of other rulers. As part of their feudal obligation, these kings sent part yearly tributes to Rome.

During the 12th and 13th centuries, two friar groups – the Franciscans and the Dominicans – were established. Unlike other religious orders, these two worked among the people. They preached in the towns and countrysides to spread the Gospel and fight heresy. Both groups became famous as university teachers. Slowly, they gained influence at a time when many people were starting to criticize the Church for being too interested in power and wealth.

Jeffrey Dahmer was one of the most notorious serial killers of the twentieth century. His gruesome crimes have horrified and fascinated people since they were discovered. There have been many lurid details released to the public. There has also been much gossip and innuendo surrounding this case. In this article, I'll try to separate some of the facts from fiction about Jeffrey Dahmer.

He tortured and killed animals in his youth.

FICTION

This is a very popular misconception about Jeffrey Dahmer. Animal abuse is an important “red flag” in children because it often leads to abuse of people when their age progresses. There has been proven to be a link between violence against animals and violence against people, specifically domestic abuse and murder. However, not all serial killers have animal abuse in their backgrounds. Jeffrey Dahmer falls into this category. He did have a deep fascination with dead animals though he found them that way instead of causing their deaths. He “experimented” on road kill. He would often skin dead animals and dissect them. He even experimented with bleaching animal bones just like he would later do with human bones. He said that he liked the sound of animal bones clinking together.

He was a cannibal.

FACT

He was, unfortunately for his victims, a cannibal. There is some dispute over how much of a cannibal he was though. It has been claimed that he has only been proven to have eaten part of the bicep muscle of one victim — as if that weren’t enough! Dahmer himself is quoted as saying: “During dismemberment I saved the heart, also meat from the thigh, bicep, liver cut it into small pieces, washed them off, put these in plastic…clear plastic freezer bags and put them on the floor of the freezer. Just as an escalation of trying something new to satisfy. And, I would cook it and then, look at the picture and … It made me feel like they were part of me.”

It was widely rumoured that he ate large sections of his victims, and this very well may be true.. You can just imagine him in his apartment stirring a giant pot full of soup made from his victims. It was also rumoured that he was the president of a Cannibal “society” club. This wasn’t true. In fact, he wasn’t even a member of the gruesome club in question.

The apartment building he committed his crimes in has been destroyed and replaced by a memorial.

FICTION

While it is true that the apartment building was completely knocked down and destroyed, there is no memorial in place. It seems that plans of a memorial fizzled out due to lack of funding and perhaps a wish by the entire community to put these gruesome acts behind them.

Dahmer used a chainsaw to dismember his victims.

FICTION

Jeffrey Dahmer lived in an apartment during the period when many of his victims were murdered. A chainsaw would have surely drawn the attention to other residents — although the smell did not seem to. His victims were dismembered in the tub with a knife. The police lists of evidence taken from the apartment do not list a chainsaw.

One of his victims almost escaped.

FACT

Konerak Sinthasomphone was found running naked in an alley by paramedics after two female passersby called 911. The police arrived shortly after and were told by Jeffrey Dahmer that the boy was his 19 year old lover who had drank too much. The boy was dazed by drugs that Dahmer have given him to subdue him and unable to communicate clearly with the police.

The two female witnesses, who happened to be black, argued with police that the boy was resisting Dahmer and was terrified. The police chose to listen instead to Dahmer, who lead them back to his apartment. They found a neat although badly smelling residence and left the two alone, not wanting to get in the middle of a homosexual domestic situation. They checked Dahmer’s identification but did not realize that he had been charged with sexual assault of minors in the past. They did not check the source of the odour in the apartment, which was a dead body. They left Konerak in Dahmer’s care. Dahmer strangled the 14 year old to death and sodomized him. He later boiled the flesh off the skull to keep it as a “trophy”. Coincidentally, Konerak was the brother of a boy once molested by Jeffrey Dahmer.

He was strapped to the table during the autopsy.

FACT

This one seems to be true, although hard to believe. It has been reported by many that this is just how autopsies of inmates are done in Milwaukee. It seems that hand cuffs attached to a belly chain are put on dead prisoners before transport to a hospital or coroner’s office. A guard stays with the body until completion of the autopsy and the shackles are not removed until it is sent to the mortuary. Each death of an inmate is treated as if it were a crime and the “chain of evidence” needs to be preserved at all costs for future court proceedings. The evidence being, of course, the dead body which is not likely to get up and run away.

Jeffrey Dahmer’s brain was kept by scientists to research.

This one is both FACT and FICTION.

In Dahmer’s last will and testament, he asked that his remains be cremated as soon as possible after his death and that there was no funeral or marker of his grave. His body was cremated a few days after his death but his brain was preserved in Formaldehyde and sent Dr. Pincus of the Georgetown University Medical Center at the request of Dahmer’s mother, Joyce Dahmer. She wanted the University to examine Jeffrey’s brain to see if anything could be learned from it. Jeffrey’s father, Lionel, strongly opposed this brain examination on the grounds of Jeffrey’s will. His brain was eventually cremated and added to the ashes split between his parents without being examined. We will never know what could have been learned about Jeffrey Dahmer’s extremely bizarre behaviour.

Dahmer claimed to find God in prison and was baptized.

FACT

Roy Ratcliff was the prison pastor and spiritual mentor of Jeffrey Dahmer. He came to know Jeffrey Dahmer over a period of about seven months and even once said that Dahmer was a “friend and brother of faith”. Dahmer immersed himself in the bible and spent many hours at the church’s chapel. He claimed remorse and vowed to live a life of righteousness which is how he was able to be baptized. The ceremony was performed on May 10, 1994 which was the same day that John Wayne Gacy, another notorious serial killer, was executed.

Ratcliff claimed to want no publicity in the matter although he allowed himself to be photographed for Time Magazine and later went on to write a book about his experiences with Dahmer entitled: “Dark Journey, Deep Grace”.

Photograph of Portage Prison where Dahmer lived after his conviction and where he died.

Jeffrey Dahmer was beaten to death by a fellow inmate after all of the guards mysteriously left them alone together.

FACT

On the morning of November 28, 1994, Jeffrey Dahmer was paired up with two other men to do janitorial work. One of the men was named Jesse Anderson. He was in prison for murdering his wife. The other man was Christopher Scarver. He was in prison for first degree murder. He was a delusional schizophrenic who believed that he was the son of God.

Usually a work detail such as this would be supervised by a guard. However, in this situation, all four guards on duty were in the bathroom. Twenty minutes after the work detail started, guards found Christopher Scarver back in his cell and the other two men outside bleeding. Jesse Anderson was dead and Jeffrey Dahmer’s skull had been crushed. He was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital. Ironically, he was once quoted as saying “If I were killed in prison, that would be a blessing right now.”

He committed the murder of Adam Walsh.

UNKNOWN

Adam Walsh is the son of John Walsh, host of “America’s Most Wanted”. He was kidnapped from the toy department at a mall in Florida in 1981 and was later found dead. The “Code Adam” in Walmart for missing kids is named after him.

It has been rumored that Jeffrey Dahmer committed this atrocity. He was working less than 10 miles from the mall where Adam was kidnapped in the same time frame. There are at least 2 witnesses that put someone of his description at the scene of the abduction. After Jeffrey Dahmer was arrested for the 16 murders, both witnesses went to police to say that he was the man they saw at the mall.

It is unknown whether or not he committed this murder. Some say that it does not fit his regular modus operandi — that he preferred young men, not boys. However, he was arrested for exposing himself to two young boys aged 12 and molesting another, aged 13, before the murders.

Dahmer was questioned about the case by the police and claimed his innocence. He maintained until his death that he did not commit any murders between the years of 1978 and 1987. This in itself is very hard to believe. Dahmer described his urge to kill in the following quote: “One thing I know for sure. It was a definite compulsion because I couldn’t quit”. If he was so driven to kill then how did he manage to avoid doing it for a period of 9 years?

Although he did protest his innocence, the investigator recalls him saying the following about the case: “‘You know, Neil, anyone who killed Adam Walsh could not live in any prison, ever”. These words still haunt that investigator, Neil Purtell. He is reported to be one of the most co-operative serial killers ever when it came to confessing his crimes and helping investigators solve them but that does not mean that he confessed all.

Serial killers strike fear and loathing into the hearts of the general public. They also have a strange fascination. It is bizarre to realize how far people can deteriorate and what they are compelled to do. People are often driven to find differences between themselves and killers and to discover just exactly how the killers came to be. For a look at some other serial killers and of Jeffrey Dahmer’s childhood, please refer to the following articles:

Like the Jews, the Anabaptists were persecuted for their faith by both Catholics and Protestants in the 15th and 16th centuries.

After the beginning of the Protestant Reformation in 1517, Catholics and Protestants fought a series of Wars of Religion. While many nobles used Catholicism and Protestantism as tools for advancing their own political gain, some really did want religious freedom. Ironically, groups who attained the religious freedom for which they had fought refused to grant that same freedom to others. Lutherans were persecuted in Catholic countries while Catholics were persecuted in Lutheran countries. Other groups, like the Anabaptists, were persecuted wherever they went.

No one is quite sure from where the Anabaptists came. Some believe that the Anabaptists were the spiritual decedents of true Bible believers who had continued to practice Biblical Christianity “uncorrupted by the perversion” of the Catholic church. Others believe that the Anabaptist movement began with one congregation in Zurich, Switzerland and spread outwards. Still others believe that the Anabaptist movement began with several small, independent movements which eventually became more or less a single denomination.

Whatever their origins, the Anabaptists had some very different beliefs than both Catholics and most Protestants. They rejected the idea of infant baptism in favor of believer’s baptism. Thus, they believed that baptism should be an outward sign of an inward decision, not a ritual performed shortly after birth. They were also pacifists who refused to participate in civil society.

Because of their fairly radical ideas about their place in civil society and their refusal to baptize their children, the Anabaptists were ostracized by Catholics and Protestants alike. They were seen as anarchists and a threat to society and were persecuted accordingly. Thousands of Anabaptists were thrown into prison, tortured, and even burned at the stake for their faith.

The Anabaptists referred to themselves as “The Brethren,” so “Anabaptist” is a term given to them by their critics. These critics were either Lutherans or Catholics who recognized only infant baptism, not believer’s baptism. Therefore, although baptism was an extremely important issue for “The Brethren,” their critics said that they did not baptize because they did not practice infant baptism. Some who understood the Anabaptist theology a bit better referred to them as “rebaptizers.” This term was used by those who recognized their believer’s baptism, but saw it as a second, unnecessary baptism.

Despite the best efforts of Catholics and Protestants in the 15th and 16th centuries, the Anabaptist movement continued to grow. It never attracted the popular support that Catholicism and Lutheranism enjoyed, but it was never stamped out completely. Today, several groups including the Amish and the Mennonites claim to be institutional decedents of the Anabaptists, while other groups, like the Seventh-Day-Adventists and the Baptists, claim to be their spiritual decedents. They also left a legacy to our country. Understandably, they were among the first advocates of religious freedom. When they first proposed it, religious freedom was a radical idea. Over time, however, it became more and more accepted and eventually adopted by most countries in the world. That was, in part, thanks to the efforts of “The Brethren.”

Insight to how the Amish community originated and live on a daily basis.

No television, radios, or phones. Could you do it? The Amish are a peaceful community that tucks itself away from the modern life we are all too familiar with. Many people have heard of the Amish, but don’t really understand their way of living or what it all is truly about.

The Amish people originated as Anabaptist’s. This was a group of individuals who believed children shouldn’t be baptized until they are mature enough to decide of their own free rights if this is the path they wish to follow. They also refused holy mass, thinking that the priests of that time were corrupt with their ways of teaching. Because of this, the Catholic churches shunned them away. Some of the Amish were prosecuted while others were burned.

In the year of 1527 Jacob Amman, an elder whose name the Amish derived from, met in secret with many others from the Amish community. They then created a union by the name of The Schleitheim Articles. This was a union which supported Christian brotherhoods living together in a community. To this day, it is still a time of remembrance in the Amish community and the belief is strongly followed.

Due to the continuous clash between the Amish community and Catholic Priests, the Amish began to migrate. The peak of Amish migration to North America came in the 18Th century. Between 1727 and 1770 they sailed on a ship known as the Charming Nancy. Arriving first in Philadelphia in 1737 the Amish groups split into groups. Most settled themselves at Lancaster county while the others migrated to Ohio and Indiana.

One of the unwritten beliefs still followed by the Amish community is the the Amish Charter. It is a set of customs, beliefs, and rules that they follow on a daily basis. You may associate the Amish with their clothing style. It comes off to many as a sure way to distinguish them from the rest of the world. The males will typically wear self-made attire which includes black hats, dark suits, straight cut coats without lapels, plain pants with suspenders, solid colored shirts, and black shoes with socks. The women will traditionally wear bonnets, long dresses with shawls over their shoulders and black shoes with stockings. Amish women are forbidden to wear any type of jewelry and are encouraged to keep a clan and plain look. It is frowned upon for any woman in the community to cut or trim her hair. She must continue to grow it out since birth and wear it tied up into a bun.

This attire is set to represent 17Th century European peasants. It also reflects their desire to avoid change and their respect towards tradition.

The Amish are known for being amazing farmers. They take pride in their hard efforts and work put into their lifestyle. Food is another commonly cherished part of the Amish community.

The Old Order Amish are much more in tune with traditional values. They life an extremely simple life without any electricity, automobiles, or telephones. They commonly use gas to operate appliances for cooking as well as lighting inside of the home.

New Order Amish families use small amounts of electricity in their lifestyle and may also own a telephone and automobile. They still follow tradition with the exception of some modern luxury to help them with their daily duties such as the usage of electricity to run farm machinery.

Although their lifestyles differ greatly from ours, there are things to be learned from such a community such as their ability to forgive. Kindness is a virtue we seem to have lost touch with. Hard work and an appreciation for life is also another wonderful quality they possess.
