It may sounf as a great life to enjoy, but the unemployed one has a different view of it all.

“Are you OK? Quite1

Someone told me once that she loved walking in the streets in the mornings and during work days!

“Sunbathing Mondays” is a Spanish film similar to the British version of The Full Monty. It may have few good gags to laugh, but it is, in fact, a sad film when one leaves the cinema and thinks about it.

The main character fits well in the nowadays profile: Male (or female) fortyish something. Been made redundant. Got some compensation money, although, no money can compensate for having worked an amount of years for a company. Registered for the dole. Has probably a mortgage to pay up and a family to keep. He or she doesn’t want to give up nor to relinquish on the idea of having a job again. When he or she calls on a temporary job agency, he or she always gets the same response: right! This is a good CV. We’ll call you up when there’s something where you can fit in the profile! He or she knows well what they mean by “fitting in the profile” They seem to be way too old for another job, but way too young to retire.

Not easy to get engrossed on a story at a time of the day when one used to be at work!

Employees have always hated Mondays as the weekend is finished and with it lazing about. It is time to get up early again, commute, walk in the workplace, sit at the desk to look to the computer. I have noticed that the people who moan about Mondays are usually office employees. It is perhaps because of the dullness of their work -typing letters or documents that aren’t related to them, except that it is their work to be done, answering telephones and stuff. I have seldom seen any other type of employees complaining so much about Mondays. They may be tired, perhaps, if they had to work at the weekend. They may even be bit sleepy, but I have seldom seen these sort of employees moaning about their Mondays.

Still retaining a job people may even think that those who have been made redundant and won’t have to rush on Monday morning, they will be able to have a quiet breakfast. They will be able to sunbathe in a park or square while others are sitting in front of a computer typing away or coping with an ill tempered boss.

However, nothing is what it looks like.

While this person sunbathes in a public square or park, worries are in its mind. He or she may even miss the chats in the staff canteen.

All goes fine while there’s a fresh account or while there’re still quite few months to go before the unemployment benefits expire. But what will it happen afterwards? Will she or he be able to keep the family, pay up the mortgage, rents or utility bills? Will she or he find another job to keep afloat again?

At first, one may be easy with expenditure, because one still has the compensation money almost intact and there is the dole money coming through. But as the months go by, one starts cutting down on this or that.

It is drama under the warm sun rays and those who still have to get up early on Monday morning may cry out “Oh, what a great life of yours! Enjoy it while you can!”

How to tell the difference between infatuation and real love.

A lot of times in relationships people mistake lust for love. This is a huge mistake because when reality sets in they are not prepared for what they face.

In the beginning of a relationship everything is always perfect. The person you are dating is perfect, everything they say and do is perfect. But what happens you realize they are not perfect, and at times can actually be quite irritating? Do you end the relationship or understand that you are not perfect either and I am sure you can be just as irritating?

It is only with time that true loves comes to be. You can not be with someone a month and honestly think you are in love with them. That is ridiculous! When you have been with someone for years and still miss them when they walk out the door, that is true love. When you have a disagreement, and even as much as you dislike them in that moment, you could not imagine being with anyone else. That is love. When y’all are at your lowest point in life, broke, unable to pay bills, struggling just to get what you need, and you can look at the other person and know that one day things will get better. That is love.

Love is not just something that happens, it is something that has to be worked at. It does not come easy. it takes a willingness to stick by someones side no matter how rough the road gets, and it will get rough at times.

Those are the differences between lust and love, so if you read this and have to ask yourself “Do I really love the person I am with?” then chances are the answer is no.

Humorous list of New Years Resolutions.

Time to make your New Years resolutions. Go ahead and be creative. Here are ten worth giving a try.

1. I will not curse and scream at my computer when it moves the speed of a snail.

2. I will not keep flushing the toilet twenty times a day.

3. I will not fart in front of my spouse, my children, or relatives. Farting in front of my worst enemies is optional.

4. I will not buy another electronic gadget for an entire year. I will not…I can’t take it. My palms are sweating. Best Buy, here I come.

5. I will not write on my bills “You call this service? It’s not worth it. I’ll pay this bill when Hell freezes over.”

6. I will not brush my teeth with axle grease. Actually, I really don’t do this. I just wanted to get your attention. Come on, focus people.

7. I will not throw a rubber brick at my TV every time a politician lies or makes a false promise. Actually, I don’t own a rubber brick, but it sounds better than saying a plastic rubber ducky.

8. I will not delete every message that is in Spam without first giving it the once over. On second thought, delete that last thought.

9. I will not snore in my sleep. I will not snore in my sleep. I will not…ZZZZZZ. SNORE!

10. I will say please and thank you more often. Hey, I said this at least once during 2011. I think it was during the Super Bowl. No, it was during the great power failure. No, no, it was during the Fourth of July. Ah forget it. I’m sorry. Would you please forgive it? Thank you. There, I’m done for another year.

Making sure you don't get taken advantage of!

Have you ever heard the expression “get it in writing”? What this is referrring to is getting proof of how much something will be before you agree to purchase the item or services. This is something most of us don’t think we need to do until we get one pulled over on us. This just happened to me!

A few weeks ago I went into my local Verizon store to make a few changes to my account. Upon making these changes I asked the person behind the counter how this was going to affect my bill. I was told it would make my bill go up a “few dollars”. Because I am on a fixed budget right now I asked for and was given an exact number, or so I thought. Yesterday I was in shock when I opened my emailed bill and saw that it was quite a few dollars more than I was told!

The first thing I do when there is an issue with a bill is to call the company. I quickly grabbed my cell phone and got a hold of a representative. After explaining to him that my bill was a good $70 more than I was expecting I asked for an explanation. Of course it took me a little while to understand the logistics of how they do their billing but in the end I was told that I was billed for the difference from the day my account was changed until the billing cycle started again, then I was pre-billed for the following month. My issues were not in how they billed, but in what they were billing me so I asked why my bill seemed so high. This is when I was told that I was basically lied to when making the changes to my account!

When I first made the decision to make changes to my account it was for the overall purpose of saving money. Getting a bill that was way higher than I thought it would be was deeply upsetting. However, I was more upset by the fact that I wasn’t told that my bill would be higher because they were adding to my services; something I did not agree to or even knew they were doing. As far as I knew the only changes to my account were the ones I had set in motion. Boy was I wrong.

In the end I am stuck paying for this bill and will be receiving credits and adjustments for next month. After having explained my frustrations to Verizon I am getting a credit that I was not expecting however, it does little to calm my nerves at the moment. As far as I am concerned I should not have to worry about being lied to when making purchases but in the future I will make sure I get it in writing and that I read the fine print!

It is extremely easy to let your finances snowball out of control at this time of year.

Ok, so we’ve covered Christmas food in part 1 and the presents in part 2 – now it’s time to wrap this series of articles up (pun intended!)

We are all well aware of the expense of this silly season and unfortunately, every day expenses don’t just disappear either.

It would seem that our utility providers think we appreciate receiving their bills just before (or after) Christmas like it’s their gift to us – how annoying is that!?

With all the added things to pay for it is extremely easy for finances to snowball out of control. A great way to deal with bills at this time of year (and all year through) is to organize a payment card so you can pay off a set amount weekly or fortnightly. It might sound a little boringly responsible but trust me; there is nothing greater than receiving a bill where the amount is in credit!

The other thing to avoid if at all possible is over using the credit card at this time of year. Buying anything on the never, never is not a good idea no matter how tempting it is. If you can’t afford it now what makes you think you will be able to pay for it later when there will be many more things you will want or need? Hide your credit cards – or better yet, cut them up.

If you are looking for ways to make some money for Christmas you might want to consider looking around your home for anything unwanted or unused that you could sell on eBay. It’s free to join and as long as you have a PayPal account it is really easy to sell whatever you don’t need anymore. You could even include your children in this one. (And no, I don’t mean selling them!!) Perhaps they have unwanted presents from last year – or simply toys they have grown out of that you could list for them on eBay as well. The money you make could go towards new presents or even be given to charity or to simply help those in your community less fortunate than you. Another way to make money is writing articles like this one (or better!) Join TRIOND here and you could make money too!

Christmas can be a really depressing time of year for many, especially those who are alone. Remember the words to the song: If you can’t be with the ones you love, love the ones you’re with.

You could always volunteer your services at the many charitable organizations who offer free Christmas dinners to those in need. Or offer to deliver Christmas hampers offered to families who are struggling at this time of year. Doing something for others is wonderful and you might be surprised at how much joy you receive from a simple smile off a grateful family.

How ever you choose to celebrate this year – remember what Christmas is truly about and enjoy this wonderful time of year!

HAPPY CHRISTMAS!

It can be very stressful when you are having financial difficulties and wondering how the rent is going to be paid. Times are tougher than ever and prices are not decreasing they're increasing. Rent is due and I don't know what to do.

Have you ever found yourself stressing over money? Well if you have I am feeling your pain right now. Times are just tough there are more homeless people than ever. Keeping up with a mortgage or with rent can generate sweat pouring all over your body. The land lord could care less how you get that rent paid as long as it is paid. You may find yourself searching the Internet to come up with the money so that you won’t have to sleep on the sidewalk. It isn’t easy! Remember when your mother told you just wait to you get grown. I bet you look back and say man I thought she was talking out of her head. Now that rent is due and you’re scrambling trying to come up with the money. You maxed out your cards you got your last loan from grandma. Life is not easy but there is something you can do try praying. Some may say get a job. What if you applied to so many jobs and the doors keep closing? We are in a financial crisis and getting put out of your home is just tragic. People who can help maybe reluctant and you keep banging your head against the wall. Mother told me there would be days like this but I thought it was a joke. Rent is due and dog on it I don’t know what to do. The kids could care less how the money comes all they care about is that play station III. I’m frustrated and don’t pretend like I’m the only one.

I’m getting on my knees having long conversations with God and trying to stay positive. But inside I’m screaming and sweat is running down my face and in other areas too. Man I didn’t realize that life would take such a drastic turn. Has anyone ever thought about pan handling? I just thought about it for two seconds and than shook my head. Its crazy and I guess its a doggy dog world as they say. Jesus I need help and I need it now! When your struggling you block out ever conversation and start thinking about your own mess. Rent man you are surely given me a rough time. Lets see I’m struggling you probably have a friend who struggling and you’re struggling too just admit it. My final scream “Rent IS Due And I Don’t Know What To Do!”

I was hit by this big bad economy. I have been on my knees, looking up to the sky and a bit worried. I got laid off from my job and I do a little writing here and there and dabble with swagbucks. I'm in a crisis and who am I kidding many are in this same boat.

The economy has got to me. I’m wondering when a recovery will come along. I’ve applied for this job and that. I came across what I know has to be a scam because it sounds to good to be true. I’m trying and I mean trying to scramble up every cents to pay my bills. I’m asking the Lord to help me each and everyday. I’m attending school and wish that they would send me some of my money that I must pay back anyway. I’m getting a bit frustrated with the matter. I know I must be patient and be worry- free. I am trying to relax and all but those bills keep rolling in.

I experiencing something that is amazing to me how do you have a paycheck in your hand one day and the next penniless? I’m not just feeling it but stars are as well. Many are losing their homes and have to sell their pocessions. It is discerning to me that our country is in this big of a crisis. Oh boy, I need a breakthrough and I need it fast. I’m thankful if i have an additional penny or two but, I need dollars. I need fives, tens, twenties, fifties and so on and so one. It has to get better at least I’m trying to stay positive. I could just walk around and lose my precious mind but I rather keep it. I’ll keep prayer and be patient!

It's unfair that the rich get richer while the poor get kicked to the side...

I decided to go back to school. Everyone around me seems super proud and all that. I’m happy I made the move too. Here’s the bitch of it though…
To get into school I had to pay off the $600 balance I had which, my boss let me borrow but, expects it to be paid back like yesterday. I pay the $600 and that same day I get enrolled in my classes BUT, I can’t start school until I pay another $1020. I sign up for the payment plan which breaks payments into four parts. THEN, I hafta borrow the $290 to put down for school which gets me into more debt with someone else. All this money doesn’t include books, supplies and parking at school. That I cover on my own. So last week my boss, you know, the guy I owe the $600 to decides to cut my hours. I’ve been there for over two years and have worked there longer than at least three of the current employees BUT, I’m getting paid the lowest out of everyone there. The new guy has been there a month and he makes $15 already. The other lady in the office makes $25 an hour because she was smart and decided to stay an independant contractor.
My boss decides who makes what and it’s complete bullsh*t that I’m the only one who makes waaay less than everyone else.
PLUS, I’m there everyday and I have to listen to him spit out disgusting language and racial slurs. What kills me is that he asks me for the money I owe him knwoing full well that I’m broke broke broke. He lives in this HUGE house with his wife and two spoiled daughters. He makes a shit tone of money and his daughters will have college paid for without any problems.

Money is the root of all evil but it would be pretty damn nice having some of that evil in my bank account.

As we watch the news and the market continues to sink, it is time to plan a market crash party. The stock market crash is going to hurt everyone, but by planning your special party for the coming future.

Planning a market crash party is one way of entertaining your family and friends, while coming together and providing valuable information to each other for the future. Let everyone you intend to invite know what you are planning. Choose a date, time and place and begin your theme. The best theme is going to be surviving without much money. Everything you plan must be on a tight budget and the games should be planned around helping each other out.

When you send out the invitations you should list the normal time, date and place. Next, make sure everyone knows it is a potluck for the last of the good times and food. Everyone can bring a dish that will be standard when you are broke or a final luxury dish that will not be as affordable later. Everything from beans to cheese cake is optional and a great way to enjoy the day. Make sure you provide one main dish and one desert to get things moving.

You can create your invitations by using a black marker and writing the information on pieces of torn newspaper to keep in theme of no money in the future. Everyone will get a smile and send a final message that it will be a good party and one everyone can benefit from in the future. But do not list what the benefit will be.

Once everyone arrives, enjoy a great time visiting and eating the good food. Make sure the children are included in everything and have a good time. After the meal, provide everyone with paper and pencil. They can talk to each other regarding the game and what they can list. Ask each person if they can offer something this winter when times are hard and what it is. Everyone will come together again for services, skills or products.

Set a time limit and once everyone has finished, use a note book to keep track of what is available. As you list the first name, list what they are offering. Continue until you have everyone listed and what they are offering. You will be surprised at the amount of talent and skills available. It can be anything from food to clothing, sewing to auto repair and more. Once they get the hang of it and do not feel like they must offer something, they will begin to add to the list.

You can even plan your next get together at this time. Some may offer to play instruments, one person may offer to teach a dance or sing, someone else can make cookies, a great soup, a prize, several prizes, games and so much more, everyone will look forward to the next party.

This type of party helps everyone know they are not alone in their problems and even if they do not need anything, they know it is available. Other things to consider are crafts you can exchange with each other for Christmas gifts, food exchanges, help with cleaning or decorating or someone to visit with in a time of need.

If there are certain needs that must be met right away, list them. Items like a utility bill and how much it is can be listed. There may not be any help, but at least it is out there and someone may be able to offer a room until your can afford to have the utilities turned back on. Or the group may be able to come up with enough of a donation to keep them on for now. There is a lot of knowledge in a group of people regarding where to locate help for certain needs through city, state or church programs.

As a group of family and friends, you can figure out how to survive another month, through the winter, one more billing, find a little more income or cash, sell something to someone willing to purchase it, get something you need or want, eat one more meal and listen to one more person. At the end you can share a smile and laugh for little while.

Here are a few great life hack tips to save you money and give you some great advice for the future.

Use your hand as a ruler. Stretch out your thumb and pinkie. Now measure the distance in between. Now you have a constant ruler. Anytime you need to measure something you will have a consistent known measurement to base things on.

Free hotel reservations. This may only work on larger chains. To avoid cancellation fees ring and and change the date to somewhere in the future. Then later ring up and cancel within the new time limit. You might just get away with avoiding your cancellation fee.

Free phone chargers. Hotels often have boxes full of chargers. You can try one of two ways. Either go in and ask directly if they have any spare that you can have. Or say you stayed here and lost your charger and could they look for it. Chances are you’ll get yourself a free phone charger.

Get your thumb drive back. Put a .txt file on the thumb drive called identification.txt or return.txt with some contact info so if someone finds it they can get in contact and give you you’re drive back

Use coupons, both online and offline. There are plenty of coupon sites for both on and offline coupon codes that can save you money on your order. You can usually find coupons for money off, free gifts, and free shipping.

Try bargaining with people, always ask for a deal or a discount or a freebie. The worst they will say is no and you’ll end up paying the same price you would’ve anyway, at best you’ll save yourself some money or get some extras thrown in.

Save money from your paycheck automatically. Set up a direct debit to take out 10% of your earnings and throw it in savings or another account. This can quickly add up and you never know when you might need it. If you are careful you won’t even miss the 10% that’s taken out.

Learn to cook. Use the Internet for guides and basic recipes. Learning to cook can save you so much money in the long run. Often preparing meals for scratch will make a lot more food for a lot less money and you can always save it and freeze it for later. You also get control of how much salt and fat goes into your food so you will help your health in the long run too.

E-mail companies you like or post them letters. Often times they will send you back vouchers as a thank you and it will only take you a few minutes.

Avoid excess damage to clothes that aren’t stained. Freeze them. You can freeze jeans/clothes/hats/shoes and it will kill the bacteria and keep them for getting extra wear and tear in the washing machine. Its also really nice on a hot summers day.

Buy in bulk if you can freeze it or store it and if you are sure you will use it. It is often a lot cheaper to buy in bulk.

Paperless bills. Check if anyone you are getting bills from does paperless bills. A lot of them will take money off if you get paperless bills. They may also offer a discount if you set up a direct debit.

Buy a water filter. Save loads of money on bottled water. These work out at only a couple of pounds or dollars a month with the filters and can save you loads in the long run on bottled water. And you’re saving the environment too.
