The Armor of Blitzkrieg
During World War Two Germany invaded Poland using a set of tactics called Blitzkrieg. These tactics involved four phases to be effective and panzer tanks were a necessity in all phases (Pitt 11). The use of these tactics is why the invasion was called The Blitzkrieg Campaign. These tactics involved all types of units to be successful and one of these was the panzer tank divisions (Blitzkrieg Lightning War). A panzer tank was a type of tank designed by the Germans during World War Two. During this war Germany produced more than 20,000 panzer tanks to assist with Blitzkrieg operations (Panzer Tanks). Without the use of panzer tank divisions in Blitzkrieg operations, the invasion of Poland would not have been as effective nor as fast because troops relied on the mobility, power, and defense the panzer tanks supplied.
