I am blogging about my efforts to change the way I view myself, when all I see online is something I could never physically achieve.

Like a good deal of people, I spend much of my time online. And during my interweb travels, one thing becomes increasing clear. All these pages are covered with skinny women. And if they’re not covered in skinny women, there are articles about how not so skinny women could become skinny. For a long time I have struggled with both my weight and my perception about myself, and while there is loads of information about women should love the bodies we are in, it’s hard to do so when all that stares back at you from the ether of the web is some unreachable ideal, and then instructions on how you might be able to attain it.

Well, I would just like to say, enough is enough. I am more than tired of being told what I should look like, from the top of my head to the tips of my toes, and so gentle readers, this is the beginning of my efforts to chronicle my transformation from one who always sees that which she is not into a woman who sees the truth that oodles of women have a difficult time accepting. That she is beautiful, strong, intelligent, and capable. No matter what that silly size 0 says on the webpage.

Slim physical passion, the young Idaman

One third of all girls and boys are obsessed with the half body image. To achieve the most perfect body or a healthy weight are prepared to take action. The United Kingdom is the result of research conducted by scientists.

Based on findings that boys are more than a decade was, what he’s excited.Pressure through weight training, so that their body needs to look more muscular and feel. One of the eight girls diet pills or laxatives, your body seems to help is slimmer choose to consume.

TV screen with the appearance of their bodies compared. Even more frightening about a quarter of both sexes examined, cosmetic surgery, to have the look you want to create in order to undergo.

A third of boys and half girls, even extreme measures to go to the perfect body is ready.

Rosi Prescott, Central YMCA, a charity organization that commissioned the poll director, said: “Young people today, their appearance and body image gives the unpleasant feeling,” he said.

This means that there is a growing trend that many of the body in the form of immediate repairs, which endangers the health and often poorly used. Swinson said that the misguided people often turn to extreme measures.

“This issue is interesting enough to be handled, which is a problem that boys and girls are affected now, as I see it used to.

“The problem is mainly due to pressure on young people is an unattainable ideal body image and unrealistic.”

Actually, just because a slim body, this year, 5 year old child hospitalized because of severe anorexia. A group of MPs is progress according to a survey of body image problems in the UK, anorexia, obesity and self-injury – concerns including the overcoming of the problem about examination earlier this year began Famous for fashion, advertising and creative industries obsession with the excitement of the thinned responsible .

“One way to overcome this feeling of confidence and to promote confidence with their body shape is,” says Swinson ….

There's self esteem and then there's body image and all the litttle factors in between these two that add up and cause more problems in our lives.....

There’s self esteem and then there’s body image and all the litttle factors in between these two that add up and cause more problems in our lives.
In today’s society we are almost convinced that we do not have the “perfect” hips or legs. Women are portrayed as thin and sexy and really, the silly clothes they advertise in those fashion magazines and shit, are they just there to make us feel even more guilty about ourselves?
High self esteem is something that is lacked by many. Especially teenage girls. It is crucial for our functioning and interactiveness with the people around us. I cannot begin to point out all the factors that may cause someone to believe that they are either stupid, ugly, fat or just not good enough.
Your family is suppose to be one of the most encouraging of all people. But if you are out there, reading this and thinking, I cop nothing but abuse from those bitches, I am tellign you right now that that may be a problem to why you have lost hope and belief in yourself.
Anyone can reach their full potential. But really, in today’s society, especially with the clear divisions between race, age, class and gender, this is much much much easier said than done.
Look at it this way. There is a student in say… a country like America, she’s got all the necessary equipment and learning in order to secure a good job. And then there is another student, who works twice as hard as the student mentioned above. The difference? Well for one, the second student has to work to pay for her education and if she loses her job, well tough luck, her education is put to an end.
I have recently talked to someone who was mightily confused about what step she should take. Her main focus was work and a brighter, more successful future, however, the poor economic factors of her country prevents her and still continues to prevent her from becoming a top student. She has nothing but one wish- to move away from this country and earn money elsewhere.
When I heard of her situation, I was shocked to discover that not only were her parents not supportive of her, but they had instead called her an idiot. It takes a LOT of determination from one person to try to continue on this dangerous path. She had difficulty speaking english but she told me of her critical situation.
It became clear that she is just one of the many females out there, who have poor confidence in themselves and don’t trust themselves.
It’s sad to see how many young people are going on fad diets that don’t even work to try and reduce their weight. It won’t work and never will. Until we stop judging people on their appearances and other factors, the world will always be an unbalanced place.
I know this is a rather long and pointless piece of text but I do thank you for reading it and if u wanna chat with me about anything, email me at starrienights46@gmail.com

Freedom To Be.

The fat man stated to the skinny man that he resemble, a stick and, in return the skinny man stated to the fat man he bigger than an Elephant. Do either one owe the other an apology? Not really, because their opinions is protected, by the first amendment that reporters loves to hide behind when they print stories many disagree with.

Notice, when a heavy person faces insecurities the first thing the mindset folks loves to do is attack the skinny models upon the magazine covers. Well, let’s put and end to attacking businesses that probably ave more skinny folks working for the company than big folks. Take, a look around and notice, on any given day slimmer folks can walk longer than many biggies crying foul in society.

What have we been taught in society? If you don’t like something about yourself or health. Find or seek someone that can assist you into changing that out look. Speaking, of myself I adore everything about myself because I love myself. But, then that just me. Sure, we all might wants to change things but if you happy then why complain?

Big Beautiful women appears greatly to certain level, of people in society. As, do many males in society. But notice, I hadn’t seen many slim folks advising the big folks to not push that image before society. We won’t address the news because while they loves to reports weigh issues. When have you notice , a heavy set anchor person behind the desk. They can do the weather and the sports, but biggie can’t be seen, as the face of the news channel.

Many, of us will never be skinny and many, of us will never be fat. But, we have the freedom to be.

Does you appearance really affect how others think of you? It does. The clothes you wear and how you present yourself not only changes your identity in the eyes of others, but also how you feel about yourself.

Snap Judgement. Everyone does it. You are always doing it. Maybe you don’t want to admit that you are doing it, but you are. I don’t mean that you deliberately judge people, but everytime you see someone, you unconsiously notice the clothes they wear, their haircut, facial features and body language, and based on the way they present themselves and you instantly make a snap judgement about that person. You decide how much they earn, how successful they are, whether they are nice or not. In short, you size them up.

And people are sizing you up right back.

Think about it. You’re walking down the street and you see a man in a business suit, gold wristwatch drive past in his convertible Mercedes. Next to him a man in his mid-50’s, tennis shoes, cargo shorts and a loose fitting polo t-shirt. What is your snap judgement about the two?

Now imagine I tell you this. The dude in the suit is earning $40k a year, struggling to get his Real Estate Business of the ground. His suit was purchased from a factory outlet for $90, his watch a fake, his car borrowed from his dad while out of town. The other man? A succesful investment banker, already retired, and making enough income off his current portfolio of shares to live comfortably for the rest of his life.

See how already you snap judgement about individuals proved to be wrong? Two individuals, one succesful, the other not so much. You had them in the wrong order. But imagine now I didn’t tell you the real story about these two men. In your eyes, the man in the sports car and suit is RICH and SUCCESFUL. The other man – not so much. The truth – for the most part – doesn’t matter, because in your mind you have already ‘figured out’ that individual. And the fact is, everyone who you come into contact with on a day to day basis is figuring you out, whether you like it or not. In their mind, what they think of you IS the truth, and you are who you believe you to be. Their PERCEPTION is REALITY.

For a moment this can be a scary thought. Are people really judging me everyday, I hear you asking. Don’t they know I’m just wearing tacky clothes because I just woke up, and can’t be bothered ironing a shirt? Nope, they don’t. They think you can’t afford good clothes, and your ruffed up hair from a good nights sleep is a sign to them that you don’t usually shower. Its the truth.

But for the those who understand the power of image, the snap judgement is a beautiful thing. Spend a little extra cash on some neat clothes, a nice pair of shoes and a decent haircut, and all of a sudden, you are no longer poor with bad hygene, rather you are a clean cut individual, respectful and polite, someone worth knowing.

Is that not the identity you want? Don’t worry about it, get your ear pierced, a tattoo on your shoulder and wear a singlet. I guarantee people will move out of your way when you walk down the footpath.

You wanna look like a playboy? Change that stud in your ear to a diamond, chuck on a classy shirt leaving one to many buttons undone, and go get yourself a fashionable haircut.

You get the picture.

Your identity in the eyes of others is not based on the truth. Its based on the snap judgement they make when they first see you, the “first impression”. If people see you as a low self-esteem person, you’ll get treated like one. On the other hand, if they see you as a high quality, independent individual your going to get treated a whole lot differently. And the thing is, its a spiralling effect. The more people treat you like the confident, cool person you paint yourself to be, the more your going to believe that’s who you actually are, and you will find yourself actually starting to develop the personality traits that fit into the identity you’ve created for yourself.

Your identity is malleable. It is yours to play with and construct however you want. Start creating the self image you want today by throwing away all those clothes that don’t fit into the way you want to portray yourself, and start wearing those that do. Chuck in a few accessories here and there, a pair of glasses, whatever. Have fun with it, and realise you can re-create yourself just by altering your appearance.

Society and Body Image.

There are many reasons why some people are not so slim. It could be due to health Problems, medication, genes, birth of a baby, over production of hormones etc. However, society has the tendency to look down on people who are not slim. Example of a Scenario below:

It’s a scorching hot day. Some men are working outside an office building. One of them, walks into the office of Admin staff, he is wearing a pair of jeans, no Top – trim and well built. Turning to some employees, he asks if anyone knows where the Soft Drinks machine is. Staff look at him and immediately give him directions. Some even offer to take him there.

Same day, same place, another man walks in, also wearing a pair of jeans with a bit of a belly and has what we call “man boobs”. He asks the same question to staff. Staff look at him and some simply point with their finger the direction he should go. Others look at him and dismiss him by looking away and continue with work.

We can’t all be Slim and should look past people’s shapes and sizes. Some people are big but they are highly intelligent, talented, with great personalities. On the contrary, you could have someone with excellent body statistics, like Barbie doll, but once you get to know them, they can be a real pain and no longer look attractive to you.

If you are naturally big. Please don’t give into society’s pressure of being slim. Love yourself, don’t hate your body. You are unique and lots of Fashion lines have trendy clothes for plus sizes. The most important thing is to live a healthy lifestyle.

If however, you are obese P/s seek medical help.

.

This piece is based on something I read a while ago. It really made me think about the topic of body image, and although this is fiction, makes me wonder if anyone has ever thought like this.

Dear Diary,

They bullied me again today. I laugh it off, just like everyone else, but they don’t see how much it really hurts. He called me fat again today. He’s so young, so naïve, he doesn’t understand how self-conscious girls are about their body. I hate myself, my thighs are too big, my boobs are out of proportion, my waist isn’t stick thin. He said that if I ate anymore cake I’d explode. I eat to try and cover the damage his words cause, but it just makes everything worse.

He called me fat again today. He’s my best friend, we dated last year, and still he doesn’t understand how it feels. He makes me feel worthless, like I will never been good enough. I don’t remember the last time he said something nice about me. He talks about women is such an undermining way, like they are just pieces of meat to be ogled at and it makes me feel sick, but I’d never tell him, I’m too much of a coward.

I’m always the happy one, the one who laughs a lot. They don’t see that inside I’m dying. I cannot do anything without comparing myself to others. The ones with clear skin, and nice hair, and perfect bodies. Why has society let it get this bad? One day, I will have my last meal. I will starve myself to become what everyone wants me to be, or throw up what I do eat. They don’t want me to be myself, so I’ll change. Maybe then they’ll see the damage their words do, maybe then they’ll change. But I won’t be here to see it.

I’m just an empty shell now. I’ve forgotten who I am. I’ve forgotten how to live.

Success comes to people of both sexes, of all ethnicity, and of various body types, from fat to very thin.

Your body image is your view of your body – how you see your appearance, your fitness, and your health. It is sometimes difficult for teenagers to maintain a positive body image, because during the teen years so many natural physical changes are taking place.

Teenage girls have an especially hard time, because of media messages that say girls and women must look a certain way in order to be considered attractive. Most teenage girls have a negative body image, because they compare themselves with very thin models in advertisements.

People are constantly bombarded with magazine and television advertisements that show “perfect” faces and bodies. This can cause us to devalue ourselves because we look different, which lowers our self esteem. Most teenage girls look at the ads showing extremely thin women, and without realizing it, they choose these women as the standard by which they must judge themselves.

The funny thing about advertising is that the “perfect” face and body change over time. Thin bodies for women may be fashionable at one time, and curvaceous bodies may be fashionable at another.

Women who would be considered beautiful in one time might be thought unattractive in another. If you look at ads from earlier periods, you see how our ideal of beauty has changed. However, people cannot very well change their bodies with the fashion.

An important thing for us to learn is that there is nothing wrong with our body type. But there is something wrong with the advertisements that make us feel bad about ourselves. If we looked around ourselves, we would see that success comes in all kinds of “packages.” Success comes to people of both sexes, of all ethnicities, and of various body types, from fat to very thin. It comes to plain people, good looking people, tall people, short people, and people with physical disabilities.

A short rundown of the health benefits of regular sexual activity in terms of vigorous exercise.

Is a bad body image holding you back in the mating game? Every guy and girl
wants to look better naked, but most of them feel that their physical selves
don’t live up to the ambition. They all need to work on that body image.
You have to feel good to look good, but don’t go comparing your own shape to
that of models, celebrities, etc because that is self defeating in some
ways.

Think about the parts of your body that you actually like, then focus on
getting the rest of it up to scratch. If you feel you need to lose weight
for the sake of your health, involve your partner. It they are unhelpful, or
critical of the way you look, and doing nothing to improve your self-esteem,
maybe it’s time to show them the door. Beauty, after all, is in the eye of
the beholder.

If you have a meal together before sex, don’t forget to include the things
that are known to stimulate those love muscles. Ancient Aztecs swore by
Cocoa as the food of love, so chocolate is a must. Garlic raises sex drive
and helps blood flow, while seafoods contain lots of passion pumping
potassium. Even nettles can raise your testosterone levels, being loaded
with sexsational minerals. Try to eat less fat, because often making only
this one change to your diet will provide dramatic results.

To look slimmer in the bedroom, you will need aerobic exercise, as it burns
off the fat you want to be rid of. fat. Sex is incredibly good aerobic
excercise in itself, if performed vigorously enough. In fact, in the 1950s,
Masters and Johnson found that both men and women burn 30 to 105 kilojoules
per orgasm, so it really pays to keep coming back for more.

If you want some sort of marker to aim at, then a serious slimmer ought to
be looking at a points system where 84 kilojoules equals one point. One
good sex session would be worth one point on average, as would walking a
distance of 5km in 45 minutes or swimming 0.8km in 20 minutes. You need to
be amassing 30 points a week. Good news for the very sexually active, don’t
you think?

Don’t forget, either, that intense sexual excitement causes your body to
undergo what is known as myotonia, which is muscle contractions basically,
so the more lifting and thrusting you do, the better the work-out you didn’t
even know you were giving yourself. During orgasm, your body produces
endorphins, oxytocin, dopamine and adrenaline, to name but a few of the
natural stimulants involved, and US research showed that those who have sex
at least once a week are 33% less prone to illness than those people who don
‘t.

The girls benefit just as much in other ways too, because their bodies
produce extra oestrogen during sex, which helps keep the skin moist and
supple. They look and feel younger if they get it regularly, and if you
tell them that the French name for orgasm is ‘la petit mort’ – the little
death – you might raise their interest, especially since regular sex is
proven to help people live longer.

Studies have shown that working out a little before sex is the best thing
you can do. It increases the hormone levels in the body that trigger sex. A
man’s heart rate and blood pressure increase, and the genital blood vessels
get primed for action. You may not believe it, but the way you breathe can
affect your performance too. If you plug up your left nostril for 15
minutes before, you increase the air-flow to the sexier half of your brain.

To loosen up properly, and make the whole sexual experience even more
profound, you can really relax those muscles by giving each other a sensual
massage. Having your partner at your mercy is a real power thing, and you’
ll be rampant in no time, but don’t rush into the sex act just yet. The
male orgasm lasts only 10 to 15 seconds, the female from 20-45 seconds. It’
s the highlight of the evening, so why rush it?

When you think about your body image and sex. It’s well worth knowing how
the opposite gender feel about it. 85% of men prefer sex with a girl who
knows what she wants, and the girls almost always like a lot of foreplay.
The most mind-blowing, and energy sapping orgasms are achieved this way, so
prolong things as much as you can.

Did you know that girls like quickie sex sometimes, for the hell of it, or
that your testosterone levels are at their highest between 5 and 9am in the
morning? Breakfast sex is often the most rewarding, because both parties
are relaxed, refreshed and well up for it. The best way to start burning off
those calories in the mornings.

You may find the going tough, to start with, on your quest for a more honed
and muscular figure, but there are bonus points that you shouldn’t overlook.
Lose ten pounds and you will start to feel more confident, and sexier. Lose
thirty to forty pounds and you’ll be acting like a teenager again, or at
least wanting to.

As a former victim of a bad body image myself, I can speak from the heart
about how it feels to get slimmer. It really is possible to feel that you
have recaptured your youth, and that you really can still attract the
opposite sex just because you look to be in good shape. Don’t allow your
reflection of yourself, in the mirror, to depress you. Make a stand and
change it, and bad body image will be something you should never have to
experience again

How to Love Your Body!

Too many people don’t love their bodies, and the media does little to help in affirming self-acceptance. We compare our bodies to supermodels and half-starved celebrities, never realizing that these “ideals” are actually far from ideal, health-wise. It’s time to stop trying to live up to a standard that is fake and shrouded in deception, and start loving your body for what it is. Learn how to strive for self-acceptance. Plus: Find out if you make a good first impression… If you idolize the bodies of celebrities and supermodels, there are two things you have to remember: 1) This is just a handful of the population, and does not represent what most people look like. 2) These people are NOT perfect! They’re just airbrushed to look perfect by a team of professionals. Remember: Nobody’s PerfectHuman nature doesn’t allow us to be without fault. We must fail over and over again in order to achieve greatness. So don’t let it come as a surprise to you that achieving a healthy body image and a true love for yourself won’t happen overnight. Many people are so afraid to fail that they never even attempt the journey, but failing is a necessary part of becoming who you were meant to be. Keep in mind that your so-called “flaws” are what make you unique. And don’t ever forget: When you fail and learn from those mistakes or failures, you’re that much closer to achieving your goal. Judge Not, Lest Ye be JudgedWe’ve established that nobody’s perfect, so why are you still gossiping about and making fun of other people? It’s important that in your quest to be at peace with yourself, you don’t unfairly judge others. Also, on the other side of that coin, don’t accept judgment from others who unfairly pass it on to you! Practice Mind over Matter You’ve probably heard this saying before, but now it’s time to put it to good use. Negative self-talk destroys everything you’re trying to build up toward self-acceptance. It tears down your confidence, reduces your self-worth to rubble and leaves you feeling like you will never be good enough. Your mind is a powerful tool, which makes it even more important to have complete control over. You actually do have power over your thought processes; you just have to learn how to use it. When a negative thought comes to you, cancel it out with the power of positive thinking. For example, you may start to think “I’m so fat, I’m never going to lose weight” as you stare at your reflection in the dressing room’s five-way mirror. And while you may in fact be overweight and need to lose weight, there’s no good reason to beat yourself up about it. Instead, focus on what you do love about your body. Maybe it’s your hair, your great calves or your toned arms. And then tell yourself about it: “I have the perfect belly button!” Sure, it may seem silly at first. But you’ll soon start to look at yourself with new eyes – ones that appreciate what they behold.Take Baby StepsAccomplishing self-acceptance all in one sitting is impossible. And attempting to do so may overwhelm you to the point of giving up on your goals. If you have a very negative body image about yourself, you will need to set small, reasonable goals. Pick one thing about your body that you’re unhappy with and figure out how you can improve on it. If you really want to slim down a flabby belly, focus just on that. Do cardio two to three times a week, and focus on exercises that will tone your tummy. Gradually introduce healthy foods into your diet and work on reducing calories little by little. And since this is such a slow process, don’t expect quick results. Reaching your goal of loving your body takes time. Remember…baby steps!Achieve Success…Repeat!Along the way to achieving the ultimate goal of body acceptance, you will find people, places or objects that motivate you and help you to achieve success. Hold on to each of these things and revisit them when you are feeling low. If it’s a self-help book that empowers you, read it more than once. If you have a role model to look up to, plan a lunch with them to discuss your goals. Perhaps being in nature helps you to focus on the true meaning of your goals. Visit this place often, or use nature as a backdrop to your exercise routine. Find what it is that helps you and use it over and over again until you are at a healthy level of self-acceptance. Learning to love your body for the powerhouse it is takes time and perseverance. But contrary to popular belief, it is more than achievable. Self-acceptance is right around the corner if you truly want it.
