Earlier in the campaign , Ghost complains about wearing fireproof vests. And there was a sniper team overlooking the whole confrontation . So when General Shepard and his men left , the sniper team can move in and save Ghost and Roach. Maybe his name is “Ghost” because he comes back from the dead? Ghost couldn’t of died , because he was the only person who called Capt. Mactavish “Soap” (his nickname). Maybe Ghost will come back in a different Call of Duty . We will never know .
