I share with you one of the defining experiences in my life that drove me to succeed in my professional career as well as a serial entrepreneur. I find that most successful individuals, many of which are over-achievers have had similar experiences.

The excerpt below is from my book “The Banker Who Saved His Soul”. It is my personal experience and completely true. I know I’m not the only one that had this type of experience. I share it so that you can see the consequences of these types of experiences.

As a young boy and a new immigrant, life was challenging for me. I was in grade two when I wrote my first IQ test. This occurred before I had learned to speak English. In our community, everyone spoke Italian, so there was no need or opportunity for me to learn English.

The IQ test score came back so low that the teacher met with my parents, informing them through another teacher who translated into Italian, that their son did not have the intelligence to pursue a University education, and that he would be better served as a tradesman.

My mother cried for a whole week: every single one of her tears was like a cinder falling on my heart. As a six year old, I didn’t really understand what was happening, but I did understand that my mommy was suffering because of me.

After my mother spent a week mourning her vision for me, she decided to visit a Roman Catholic priest. This priest, to whom I will be eternally grateful, upon hearing my story offered to tutor me after school. Six months later I rewrote that IQ test…only this time I could read and write English. The results now showed me to be a ‘Genius’, for whatever that means.

I remember that time as a young boy when I was determined not to let the same thing happen to anyone else. I was going to change the world so that people would be caring toward others and treat them fairly. I was helped by a caring priest and I would repay his favor many times over.

This experience has had a significant impact on my life and explains much of how I lived my journey in the corporate world, as a successful entrepreneur, community leader and volunteer. I hope you take the time to read my book and don’t hesitate to discuss your own journey and questions with me.

We all want success in our career and in our personal life. But most of us are not willing to work hard to attain success. We want gains, but without any pains. If we end up with failures, we blame others for our failures. Please keep reading........

Career success: Every man wants to attain career success but unfortunately he is not willing to work for it. He looks for a short cut or some easy way to become rich. He can’t achieve his goals without hard work and pains, unless he has some extraordinary luck ( it’s a very rare thing, so can’t take it into account). If you really want to have a successful career, you can achieve it only through hard work. Nothing else can pay you like hard work. So, if there is no pain, there will be no gain.

Online business success: This is applicable to your online business success too. People work for some days hoping to make big money online. When they realize that it’s not that easy to make money online as they imagined, they give up. As a Triond writer you may write a few articles and expect big results. No, it’s just not possible. If you really want to make money from Triond, you need to write hundreds of quality articles. It can’t happen overnight. It takes some months if not years to earn a few hundred dollars every month from Triond.

Success in relationships: Every woman wants her man to love her with all his heart and soul for ever. But most women don’t want to work for it. They simply want their men to love them unconditionally. They want their men to change to their taste and needs. Men are not better than women. In short we all want our partners to love us unconditionally, but we are not ready to work for it. That is why many relationships fail miserably today.

Summary: I love the saying ” No, pain, no gain” because it is so real in real life. We all want to attain success without working enough for it. The fact of the matter is there is no short cut for achieving your goals and success. Hard work alone can make our dreams come true. Let us work hard, and get what we want in life. Thanks for reading.

Make your career successful! Learn how to effectively use your voice!

Are you generally soft-spoken or too loud? The volume with which you utilize your voice can be a positive factor or a negative factor depending on how you put it to use. Your greatest bet is to always project your voice in the proper way. You will discover how the effective use of voice can enhance your career success.

One method you can employ to use your voice effectively is to display magnificent manners. For example, if you have just belched or you need to get by a supervisor or fellow employee who is in your way, it would be appropriate to say, “Excuse me.”

It is necessary to ask for things politely instead of deciding to demand things. For example, if you are at a staff meeting and you have the desire to eat one of the donuts that are sitting on the table, it is incumbent for you to say, “Will someone please pass me the box of donuts?” You will make a good impression this way.

Always express gratitude when someone at work does something nice for you. It would be a fantastic idea to say, “Thank you for the assistance.” This is likely to earn you assistance continuously.

It is crucial to pay close attention to the volume and tone you exert. Even if someone at your place of work is several feet away, you should not shout to attract his or her attention because doing so will probably make you look unprofessional and you would run the risk of irritating that person.

Never speak with a harsh tone. You have to avoid the risk of prompting someone to reply, “Who are you raising your voice at?”

Is the ability to speak in a vast array of voices and tones one of your strong suits? If it is, make an attempt to land a job doing voice-overs or acting.

Do you know how to throw your voice, or make it sound like it is coming from a different direction? If you do, consider applying to become a ventriloquist.

Are you in the hunt for a new job? If so, speak up. If you have submitted your resume to a potential employer, you could call within a week to check on your status. Do not call if the help-wanted ad you used to apply for a job gives a warning to not make a telephone call.

Are you naturally shy? If so, you must overcome your timidity. Get into the habit of being outgoing instead of always waiting for others at work to approach you or give you advice on their own.

Another method you can use to effectively use your voice is to actively participate. Speak up when you have good ideas to express. You must do this to show you can be a leader.

Be proactive and willing to be of service. Offer assistance to the managers and your fellow workers. Impart your knowledge.

Follow these steps to effectively use your voice to enhance your career success!

Make your career successful! See why having patience is important at work!

What type of personality do you possess that characterizes you? Are you somebody who becomes agitated easily and is always in a hurry for bad things to change or good things to happen? Have you heard of the phrases that say, “patience is a virtue” and “good things come to those who wait”? By becoming a person who practices patience, you can increase your chances for getting ahead. You will learn how having patience can assist you in enjoying career success.

One way possessing patience can help you succeed in your line of work is it will enable you to maintain good health. If you are patient and rarely become overly excited, hurried or upset, you will not raise your blood pressure or increase your risk for suffering a stroke or heart attack. The healthier you are, the more productive you will be at work. Furthermore, if you only miss a little time from being on the job, you will earn more money, pay less money in medical expenses and increase your chances for getting promotions.

Another way displaying patience can assist you in having career success is it will increase your ability to focus on your profession. If you are not in a hurry to do everything or see immediate results all of the time, you will have an easier time putting the proper care into each step for your duties while doing an outstanding job.

Having patience can help you stay humble. If you are concerned about taking the time to do all of your tasks the proper way and you do not have so much pride that you cannot seek help from others at work or listen to what they have to say, you are likely to be a successful employee. Humility is an important characteristic to possess.

Are you familiar with the phrase that says, “You are missing the forest for the trees?” If you carry a tendency to be very impatient and you do not pay close attention to every detail most of the time, you will miss discovering plenty of opportunities.

Possessing patience can benefit you emotionally and directly. If you are patient and care about staying positive when things are not going the way you want them to, you will maintain a good attitude and assist your goal for career success.

Incorporating patience into your routine can make you do your work thoroughly. If you are not in a major hurry, you will go over your assignments to catch possible mistakes before turning them in.

Keep in mind everything you have learned to remember how having patience can help you have career success!

There is nothing like cultivating pleasant manners at the work place. Often you think that once you are settled in a job, there is no need to be continually good mannered. Nothing is more ridiculous than this approach. Pleasant manners should always guide us in our work spot. We should always remember that most of our working time taken up in the office or connected with the work demands from us utmost courteous approach and behavior towards our colleagues and customers. Let there be no lapse in this on any account.

We are not to cultivate a brazen or off-hand manner in our work spot. Where is the need to go about in a boorish manner? Why should there be presumptuous attitude in the place where we work? Constantly aiming to move with others in a dignified and appropriate manner would only enhance our stature. To be referred to as a ‘gentleman’, ‘always well-behaved’ must be a source of pride for us. Do you remember how you behaved on the first day of your job? You wanted everyone to feel that you are cultured, affable and a well-mannered gentleman. Why that attitude should change at all?

Even more necessary is to maintain the affability when our work involves meeting the customers of the company often. We are in the office not just in our individual capacity but in our official role as some functionary representing an organization. It should, therefore, be borne in mind that the way we conduct ourselves would be a reflection of the institution where we work. It is the image of the firm and we are bound to preserve a dignified approach in our dealings with all those who come in contact with us.

There could be some occasions when personally we fee; we have been let down by our higher authorities or even by our subordinates. That need not immediately reflect in our attitude towards customers of the firm. They are not interested in the personal bickering among the employees of the firm they visit. They are entitled to privileges and courtesy due to a customer, who after all will contribute towards the income of the firm. So our personal likes and dislikes have no place while dealing with strangers.

And after all, what is expected of us while dealing with strangers who come to our work spot? To put them at ease, explain the salient features of the product they are interested in or if the firm deals with services the special characteristics of such services as distinguished from the competitors’ services. Here the impression you create in the minds of the buyer is of great significance. You do not have a personal responsibility here; you have an official responsibility. You are entrusted with the job of smoothly handling the customer and your personal frustrations or likes and dislikes have no place while dealing with the customer. That is the cardinal point.

Also, We must remember that a genuine desire to improve one’s conduct with others requires assiduous cultivation of pleasant manners. Where is the need to be offensive in word or gesture when you can with a smile and polite words make the stranger feel at ease and admire your way of handling things. Also remember that the more refined your approach, the better would be the results for the firm.
