It has its occupational hazards, but it will fill your bank account fast, if you know how to step into forbidden grounds or know who's hot or not.

As the saying goes an image is worth thousand words, but on these days of mass communication, glossy magazines and the Internet, I’d say it’s worth a good amount of dough How much could a good photograph be paid? It all depends on one’s skill to get into forbidden grounds and, of course, on whom one intends to catch up. Celebs go up to be on the crest of the wave and every magazine will pay a fortune for a private stand. But they also lose their aura and publishers know well what it’s hot or cold. They know exactly what a photograph is worth in cash

If this is the grounds one wants to get into, be prepared to spend hours on end at someone’s door step to click on the flash and to speed up before the bodyguards punch at one. It may happen that this person has stepped out through a back door and their smoked glass car passes you not giving a chance to take a small photograph. But these and others are the occupational hazards.

What will one need for this job?

First of all, one will have to be fit enough to be able to run fast, to climb on trees, walls or iron fences.

Loads of patience to wait for a glimpse of one’s target. I recall one of these who spent days and nights outside Kensington Palace in London to catch up a good photograph of Princess Margaret. I don’t know if he ever went home to eat, sleep, shower or whatever, I do remember this one outside the palace awaiting for the princess to go out or to go inside drunk and yelling.

It will help taking on classes of karate and to jog a little bit everyday so as to keep fit.

One should know well in advance who is hot or who isn’t and the more details one has the better when it comes to negotiate with a publisher.

And last, but no less, a really good camera is a must.

If one is sure that one wishes to earn a lot of cash in as brief a time as possible, then this is a job for you -following celebrities day and night until they fall out of their stand.

It isn’t my cuppa of tea, but as I say there must be space for all sorts of characters and everybody is entitled to earn its living. What’s so attractive on celebrities, I don’t know, but people seem to go mad for a bit of indiscreet information to let them rest at the end of the day.

Weddings for umpteenth time?

Births?

Our target caught up blind drunk in the middle of the street?

Anyhing will do to entertain the crowds and set them apart from what it really matters.

Intrusive Madonna fan put on trial again

Singer unwanted worships at risk of being convicted of illegal possession of weapons.

A judge in New York has ruled that one of Madonna’s most urgent fans must be tried again.

Robert Linhart was arrested in September 2010 outside the singer’s home.

Here the early retiree lived for days shuffling around on some big posters, which he declared his eternal love Madonna. Police found a pocket knife on the man and his car there was an ice pick, which now leads to a new trial.
Defender is angry

The prosecution gets a second chance to get popdronningens unwanted worship convicted of illegal possession of weapons. Initially Linhart escaped punishment because the prosecutor was too long to sue, but it happens now.

After a court hearing Monday, the judge granted the prosecutor argued, that the former firefighter got too cheap, and he will be indicted for possession of two weapons.

The award stir up anger at the man’s defender Kevin Kitson:

“If it were any other citizen, not Madonna, they would never push so hard,” growled the lawyer against the New York Post newspaper.

Madonna’s tormentor got a restraining order and was told to stay at least 10 gaders distance of the singer’s residence.

Persuasive Writing
The Dark Side of Asian Idols - Asian idols are not as important in society as they are made out to be.
Persuasive Piece 2012
(Focus on Korean Idols)

Asian idols are on the rise. They have been in the headlines. They are starting to break into the mainstream pop culture. With this popularity comes a countless number of fans. However, are idols really as important as society makes them out to be? Are idols really worth all the praise that is given to them?

Idolising idols is a great waste. While there may be nothing wrong with listening to songs once in a while, it can also easily turn into an addiction. From merely listening to songs of a favourite idol or band, it can easily turn into looking up their information and other works (to hear more of them), searching for their pictures (to stick up in their rooms or display as backgrounds for their computer screens), reading gossip magazines or websites (to see what their idols are up to), etc. This, uses up a lot of time which cannot be brought back, can it not? In order to attend an idol’s concert, buy fan merchandise and ‘fan rice’, it is also wasting endless amounts of money which will not easily be earned back. Clearly, this is an obsession which must stop occurring. Teenagers and early adults are still in school and should not be focussing so much time on idols and things which are in relation to idols. Instead, they should focus on more on school and those who are close to them such as friends and family. Idols are a waste of time as they are not as important as the fans make them out to be.

Most Asian celebrities are multi-talented, making them great role models for their fans. Nowadays, most Asian idols know not only how to model, sing and dance, but also to play musical instruments, compose their own songs and even write their own lyrics. Some of these idols have even launched their own acting career. Korean romantic comedy and music drama ‘Dream High’ (2011) was popular not only among Koreans, but also many international fans. Although the acting could have been better, it has successfully boosted the names of many of its idol-turned-actors. Due to its popularity, ‘Dream High 2’, which recently broadcasted its last episode, had again, most of its cast being idols rather than professional actors. These talented people inspire fans to become more like them, to study hard in school and strive hard to achieve their goals. Many fans have admitted that they went to learn a new language so that if they ever got to meet their idols they would be able to converse with them in their native tongue, while other fans have strived to become more like their idols by learning to sing, dance and take up music.

However, idols can also have a bad influence on their fans. Idols are looked upon not only for their talents, but also more often than not, their outer appearance. Female and male idols, (in particular Korean idols), have admitted to getting plastic surgery done. Some of the most common surgeries are the double eyelid surgery and nose job. Due to ‘popular’ fashion trends, these young stars are often seen in rather revealing and sometimes even borderline offensive clothing. One such case is of Tiffany’s (SNSD) shorts. Several netizens have criticised Tiffany’s short shorts for being too short. There were several shots where Tiffany’s shorts, which rest right below her bottom, easily rode up her bottom, revealing her butt cheeks when she started dancing. SNSD are role models for many young girls around the world and should be setting a good example to the girls that look up to them.

While idols do have positive impacts on society, more often than not, idolising idols waste the time and money of their fans and idols persuade their fans to do certain things and follow certain trends. We do not need idols to tell the youth of today what to do and not to do. The fans’ infatuated idolism is not necessary as Asian idols are not as important as society makes them out to be.

My piece will task in bringing the reader a sufficient amount of information, for them to gather a picture for themselves, as to what the World was like in year 1000. Suprisingly I am able to cite some similarlities between 2012 style life to the Anglo Saxon's of Year 1000.

Some Male Characteristics

Men would tend to be quite tall and increasingly taller than the inhabitants that followed them, the Georgian’s and Victorian’s. There bone structure they would generally cite strong bones and healthy teeth and the reason for this was credited to the simple and wholesome food that was grown on a daily basis.

I have not learnt of anything to suggest that a woman’s body was healthier in year 1000, this may be to attributed to the fact that it was the men and boys who worked the land and the women who provided for them. A whole lot different today and quite right too.

For my first similarity I would site a farmer and his land to tend and his animals to raise and care for. The difference farmers today have a wealth of new technology to aid them to feed, transport and keep their animals healthy for the food chain. Similarity too with the men of that time having suffered from arthritis, I would expect farmers of today to be arthritic, like their predecessors. They are more likely to be healthier than the men of 1000 because today they are richer in terms of what they can put on the dinner table for their families.

There were no shops that displayed their wares, and people lived off the land to eat. No competition for jobs as the only work, which was their culture was that of “living Off the land.”

Clothing was an extremely basic “arrangement” people of this time would be viewed wearing a sack and tunic, which could not be fastened, because the notion of something to hold your clothes together had not been advanced. Ther Anglo-Saxons would however tie their attire together with “clongs or thongs.” For those of us that remember the Monty Python sketches, the attire that the people wore, was similar.

Starting Age For Working The Land

Any boy of the time at the age of 12 years would be expected to declare their loyalty to the King and work on the land. The age of just boyhood is perhaps surprising in comparison with today, but when the mining industry was flourishing it was common practice for boys as young as twelve to be put to work in British mines.

In respect of girls of this period they were expected to marry in their early teens, usually to men that were much older. Life expectantancy was dire and the majority of the population did not reach aged 40 and to have 50 year old Anglo Saxon’s was considered unusual. Britain had a population of one million.

Evidence that the work on the land was gruelling and darned hard work was evidence in the men’s bones which had clear traces of arthritis.

Teaching

There is a reference to a teacher called “Aelfric” whose scholaring amounted to teaching children about the world around them, which was largely, explaining to them how to get the best from their land, so their families ateeat wel enough in what were very often harsh winters. With no heating to protect them from the elements, occupants of this time would view such harsh winter’s as devil led, rather than the responsibility being attributed to weather conditions.

Calendars

The first calendars were poured over by the learned friends of the time and calendars, which would often centre around “religious” events would be the subject of intense argument, with regard to dates of this or that festival. Easter would be of the most significance and had been celebrated twice to avoid fears of it being excluded from the calendar.

I use my imagination now and I envisaged the possibility of a number of people waiting to see the leaders, normally religion lead and those leaders viewing their offerings nd then having to choose which one to produce for its people. What does this sound like, well to me not unsimilar to “Dragon’s Den” but of course there were no businesses, so this was a way of moving forward for the people then.

There were a lot of people of the time who were known as “Saints” that were worshipped by the population, rather again for me making the comparison between the “religious led idolisation” then to the modern day way of life of idolizing anyone who is considered a “celebrity.”

It was a time to when prostitution was not uncommon, so I suppose that old adage, that “It is the oldest profession in the world.” From that one can hardly blame the 1960’s the hippy and some said irresponsible decade, for the profession to be still popular today.

Other professions

There were learned friends in that society from the study of mathematics, science, archaeology to name just a few. The Arab and Muslim World of that time was considered to be 2The Golden Age.”

China

Had Emperior Zhanzong and its “Song Dynasty” which was considered the strongest “community” in the world, were not unsimilar to China 2012. However, that is where the similarity ends, because there can be no comparison to the modern technology China has at its disposal today.

Hungary was another country established by the year 1000 and its constitution amounted to a “Christian State.”

Africa

The Hulus settled in Rwanda and established themselves as the “chief” ethnic group of that period for Central Africa.

Asia

The Dhaka and the “Bangladesh” people were formed.

Some of the beginning’s from a number of countries from around the world.

Life then would have been identified with “hard labour” winters in most countries would have been hard to imagine such was the hardship. It was a much simplar life, the priesthood” in respect of many religious beliefs was popular, because the chiefs were expected to provide hope and light for their people, they needed someone to believe in, a good role model, to help them through those difficult years of that time.

You know the lucky few who have their “Desert Island Discs” moment are asked what they would take with them to a “desert island,” my thoughts on this are, if such an opportunity had arisen, what would they of taken with them then. At that time the calendar I believe would have been the most popular choice, because they argued over this more than any other matter Iit would appear, so it would have been viewed by them as something similar to treasure and therefore irreplacable.

It has been fascinating to journey back to what was a “most primitive of times,” and you wonder whether most of the younger and even the older generations could have managed without lifes modern provisions, what for example about those hair straighteners? For Anglo Saxons you cannot have what has not been invented. It is likely that they viewed their way of life as much a “modern” way of life that we do today.

I believed that when I grew up in the late 60’s that I was living in a modern society and whose to say that when the teenagers of 2012 reach middle age, they too will view 2012 as their modern moment.

There are acknolwedgements that follow that will link you to more information about the period.

Randy Edwards speaks about the late Russell Armstrong and the controversy surrounding his death.

Randy Edwards was the best friend of Russell Armstrong, who appeared on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Somewhere on or around April 13 through the 15th – his body was discovered on the 15th – Russell Armstrong died in what LA Coroner Ed Winter ruled a suicide. Since his death there has been much controversy surrounding his widow, Taylor Armstrong, much of which this writer has documented and editorialized.
A few months ago I had the opportunity to speak with Randy Edwards and ask him a few questions about his friend, Russell Armstrong, Russell the man, not the person television painted but the real guy that he hung out with and talked women with and shared dreams with – his friend, Russell.
This is what Randy had to say.
How long have you known Russell?I met Russ in Aug. 1975. We were on the same little league football team.
Russell has been described by Taylor – and because of this, media has extrapolated and described him the same way – as controlling. Would you describe Russell as controlling? I am trying to come up with one example of Russ being controlling. I cannot think of one off hand.
How would you describe his personality?Engaging. He could talk to anybody in any room and seem interested in what they had to say. Laughed a lot, and liked to joke. Very loyal. Did you spend any time around Russell and Taylor? If so, what were they like?I spent a little time around them. Except for the first time he brought her to my house she always went off and did her own deal. She eventually told Russ she didn’t like his friends and family visiting and staying with them. In fact one of my friends and his wife stayed at a hotel the last time
Did you spend time around Russell and any other girlfriends, or his wife? Any comments on the dynamics there?I know quite a few of his girlfriends and his wife. I actually lived with Russ and one of his girlfriends in Boca Raton Florida in 1989. It was a one bedroom loft so there was not much privacy. That’s funny thinking back. Of course they argued like all couples. What was funny is they would go upstairs and have to almost whisper. Very funny thinking back You’ve gone on record as saying that Russell was not a saint, but he wasn’t the person they paint him out to be. Is there any grain of truth in the picture that Taylor has painted of Russell, anything you recognize as your friend, qualities that are familiar, personality quirks or habits that make you say, “well, yes, *that’s* Russ, but the rest of it is wrong”?I was channel surfing one night. Stopped on the RHOBH. Taylor and Russ were hosting a party. I was watching Russ in the background of the main scene. He was walking around the room shaking hands engaging people. That was Russ.
Do you think Russell was murdered? Do you think Taylor was involved?Nothing will surprise me the rest of my life.

Do you think Taylor is in danger? Of what? Self threats?

An anonymous source posted on one of the Housewives blogs (StoopidHousewives.com) at the end of last year, claiming to have “inside information”. They stated that Taylor was threatening Russell with a tell-all book before he died. They also stated that Russell had been investigated by someone involved with the show – they made it sound like someone on the cast, actually – who found out how many “scams” Russell was allegedly running with investors. They then called all of the investors and companies and ratted on Russell. They also called Bravo brass, as well as the entire cast. If I recall corrrectly they also uncovered Taylor’s lesbian relationships, which Russell allegedly confronted her with. Essentially everything the couple had kept secret was out in the open and all of Beverly Hills was talking about it, said this person. Have you heard any of this, and does any of this sound valid to you? I have never heard that. Russ did say people he thought were friends were not and everybody was piling on. So it could be accurate.

Do you think that salacious rumors were started right after Russell’s death by Taylor’s camp to discredit Russell in order to prime the well for Taylor’s subsequent selling of “abuse” pics to ET? Supposedly, according to the above mentioned anonymous source, the content of these rumors is the same topic matter that Taylor was threatening Russell with re: her “tell-all” book. I think his death gave her a platform because there would be little resistance at least that’s what her and Team Taylor thought and think
Have you read Taylor’s book? Have you seen any of her television appearances? What are your thoughts? No and I have seen segments. I sometimes laugh and say to myself “where’s she come up with this shit?”
What do you think about Dr. Drew calling those who question Taylor’s inconsistencies and obvious lies “haters”? I tweeted the night before it was a setup. I think Doc Drew should do his viewers justice and have some more family and friends on and see how many times we all saw or visited Russ after he married Taylor. Is there anything you would like to add?The whole thing is a made for tv movie. When I first saw video of Taylor telling a lie, that I knew was a lie because I know people involved in her story, I knew she would eventually do herself in. She keeps slipping up with her stories. Her 15 minutes of fame is almost over. She wont make it out of the summer.

And it isn't funny!

There are lots of celebirties in the world. Lots of them have scars. Most of the scars remain hidden and secreative, like an addiction or a nefarious relative.

One such celebrity with a secret scar is Tina Fey, the female comedian lady. She has brown hair and glasses. Yeah, that one.

It was a town called Darby in Pennelsvania. It was a dude with a knife. It was a five-year-old Tina Fey at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Assaulted and cut with the knife, the 5-year-old Tina Fey probably screamed like a little girl, and indeed, that is exactly what she was.

No one knows who the man was or his motives. Perhaps he was a time traveler who was offended by Tina Fey in the future. Perhaps he pooped his pants and lost his mind. The world may never know, for Tina Fey may never say.

But the scar remains for all to see. Some might say ha ha or hee hee hee.

But not I.

Nicolas Sarkozy has unveiled his economic manifesto for re-election as president of France, less than three weeks before the first round of voting.

He promised spending cuts and a new law committing France to balanced budgets.

Opinion polls suggest he has edged ahead of his main rival, Francois Hollande, but the Socialist still seems likely to win the second round.

Mr Sarkozy has seen his support strengthen since an Islamist gunman attacked soldiers and a Jewish school.

But now attention is moving to the economy and Mr Sarkozy promised greater stability.

‘Golden rule’

“I want to say that in 2016 that France must have a balanced budget. I emphasise, a balanced budget is the golden rule for our citizens. I will vote it in from summer 2012. This golden rule is to be adopted by all our European partners – whether they are of the left or of the right,” he said.

The French president said he expects the country’s public debt to peak at 89.4% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2013 before falling back to 80.2% in 2017.

That compares to debt levels of 159% of GDP in Greece and 81.8% of GDP in Germany in the final quarter of last year, according to statistics from the European Commission.

Mr Sarkozy also promised to freeze France’s contributions to the European Union budget, saving 600m euros ($790m; £497m) annually.

And he added: “I won’t go back on on the proposals I made on the fiscalisation of dividends, minimum taxes for big businesses and taxing tax exiles, withdrawing working tax credit (a state subsidy for the low paid) which will bring in 8bn euros ($10bn; £6.5bn) to the state’s budget.”

His Socialist rival Mr Hollande supports higher taxes on the rich. On Wednesday he promised a freeze on fuel prices and a 30% cut in salaries for the president and cabinet ministers.

‘Unemployment first’

Mr Hollande is still tipped to win

After the gun attacks in the south-west last month, Mr Sarkozy ordered a security clampdown and there have been high-profile and controversial raids on suspected Islamist militants.

This week, France expelled two foreign-born radical Islamists on state security grounds.

However, opinion polls suggest unemployment – running at 10% – tops voter concerns.

According to the three most recent opinion polls available, Mr Sarkozy leads Mr Hollande by an average of 1.8 percentage points in the first round but trails him in the second by an average of seven points.

Voters first go to the polls on 22 April, with the run-off scheduled for 6 May.

Nicknames can be obvious, devious, obscure, awful and silly. It’s reassuring to know that Whoopi Goldberg is sometimes called cushion and yes Al Pacino would be called Top Dog. The one who is named might not be too happy about it but that’s just the way it goes. Read on for what might be the wittiest of all.

Sometimes they’re hard to work out. Why is Ben Stiller known as sticky, or veteran actor Robert Duvall as Mr Chippers? Or Keanu Reeves as The Wall?

More intriguingly why is Simon Cowell known as Small Ben? Apparently that’s what Paula Abdul, who allegedly has shared sexual tension with the great man, calls him him . We’ll just have to guess about that one.

The beautiful super model Gisele Bundchen was known as Olive Oil when she was a teenager, she probably wasn’t too happy about that.

Amongst the politicians Bill Clinton is sometimes called Bubba, George Bush was Dubya, or Junior according to taste. One of the many nicknames for President Obama is ObeyMe – but there are others!

Liv Tyler probably isn’t wild about being known as Liver but at least you can see where that’s coming from. Sylvester Stallone is delighted to be known as the Italian Stallion, he probably dreamed it up himself while Teri Hatcher of Desperate Housewives would be called The Hatch.

The David Beckams are Posh and Becks, their friend Tom Cruise is Tomkat, and of course Angelina and Brad are Brangelina.

But here’s one of the best. It belongs to a journalist whose name is Liz Jones. Quite an ordinary name of course, so how did she get a great nickname?

She wrote an article about how she was desperate to get pregnant but her partner insisted he wasn’t ready to be a father yet. No matter how she tried, she couldn’t persuade him.

So she worked out a plan. After sex she woke up in the middle of the night, retrieved his used condom and crept into the bathroom. She then used the appropriate technique to borrow his sperm and tried to get pregnant. Unfortunately for her it didn’t work.

But her journalist colleagues were impressed with her and the article and gave her a nickname.

Liz Jones became Jizz Loans.
