General Motors India today unveiled the first two products from its joint venture with SAIC, the Chevrolet Sail premium hatchback and the Chevrolet MPV Concept, at the 11th Auto Expo in New Delhi.

The introduction of the Sail hatchback and MPV Concept demonstrates our commitment to take advantage of the global resources of GM and our partners in India for India said GM India President and Managing Director Lowell Paddock. The two products have been tailored for local market conditions and the need of local consumers for economical, user-friendly personal transportation.

The 2012 Chevrolet Sail hatchback, which will go on sale later this year, is built for the world`s emerging markets. Engineers at the GM Technical Center India in Bangalore spent the past year and a half engineering the platform for India to ensure that the Sail hatchback and other vehicles built on the platform will meet the requirements of the Indian market and Indian car buyers.

The Chevrolet Sail hatchback`s exterior and interior design exudes Chevrolet`s sporty styling. The front view features Chevrolet`s signature styling cues, including a dual-port grille adorned with a gold bowtie. The hood features muscular cut-lines that provide a three-dimensional look. From the side, the unique waistline gives the Sail hatchback a dynamic stance. Its body proportions offer a perfect ratio of a long front and short rear, with a lower stance in front that moves upward to a higher stance in back.

The interior of the Sail hatchback is spacious, airy and bright, with Chevrolet`s dual-cockpit design. The sporty instrument panel with chrome-plated accents contains a radio, CD player and music Aux-in interface. As a family car, the Sail hatchback can seat up to five people in comfort. With its fuel tank placed in the middle of the car and short front and rear overhangs, the Sail hatchback maximizes interior space. Its high roof design offers ample headroom even for taller passengers. A series of well-thought-out storage spaces provides room for passengers to stow their belongings.

The Chevrolet Sail hatchback will be powered by GM India`s latest Smartech engines, which present an excellent combination of high power, high fuel efficiency and low emissions. Both gasoline and diesel engines will be offered. In line with Chevrolet`s global focus on safety, the Sail hatchback features safety cage body construction supported by the extensive use of high-strength steel. The fuel tank is protected by steel beam-rolling ribs, ensuring the utmost safety for driver and passengers. The Chevrolet Sail hatchback will be a strong addition to GM`s mini-car portfolio in India“ Paddock said.“It will bring a new sense of vitality to the biggest, fastest.

Chevrolet MPV Concept

The MPV Concept is a multi-purpose vehicle, engineered for the MPV B segment in India. It was also developed for the world`s emerging markets, offering space for large families, with flexi-seating and a choice of seven or eight seats. British automaker Lotus worked with the GM Technical Center – India for more than a year and a half to tune the chassis. Safety was given paramount importance in the development of the MPV Concept. High-strength and ultra-high-strength steel are used in the body and chassis.

The Chevrolet MPV Concept is designed for those who want a spacious, comfortable and well-styled vehicle to enjoy life with their loved ones“ said Paddock. Both the Sail hatchback and the MPV Concept will be tested on different terrains and in different climate conditions across India.

A neighborhood is only a neighborhood when people decide to be kind and courteous to each other. Not when they decide to take over.

A neighborhood is only a neighborhood when people decide to be kind and courteous to each other. Not when they decide to take over.

I have some neighbors from hell who think that they can start stuff with me simply because I told them I was a Christian when I moved in ten years ago. I mean these people think the word Christian must equal weakness so they have done many things to try me over the years. They have piled up cat shit in a flag formation and put it outside my door and I have thrown it back onto their door.

They have done things to damage my property and I have returned the favor for you see if I cannot live in peace then neither can you. It all started when I first moved in and my neighbor told me that she had a mother that was a Christian who was constantly praying for her salvation and she didn’t like that because after all she was a short, petite, pretty Caucasian blonde with a hot body and she was a party girl. She didn’t want to be a Christian because then she couldn’t drink alcohol, party and have sex like she wanted to. Her mother died when she was in her twenties so she died before she could see her daughter get her act together.

So the girl lived her wild life as a teen and grew up into her late 40’s and then she set her sights on an older man who owned an Italian pizzeria. Now, she had to fight to get acceptance by his family as they didn’t want her around unless she was pregnant as they correctly thought that she was a gold digger. She never had any children except for the baby girl that she carried for her son in law whose wife couldn’t have children of her own. Now before she had the baby she was thin and petite and after she had the baby she blew up to over 300 pounds and she is a real larda*s today.

Okay so the two of them have been living in the trailer park for at least 15 years now and because they have been here a long time they sometimes need to be reminded of how things work around here, otherwise they will just try to take over. So here is what happened there was another neighbor who was directly in front of me who moved out temporarily to allow his brother-in-law who is a handyman to come over from time to time to do repairs on the house. So since they saw that the original tenant was gone, they decided that they were going to take his parking spot.

Again, they had no right to do that but they decided they were going to take their second car and park it in his parking spot not realizing or not caring that there was another man who was going to need to get in and out of that spot to do repairs on the house. So I was doing some work outside the house and the new neighbor asks me do you know about this green car parked here? I said yes that is so and so’s car and they live right here in that trailer over there. So then I said do you have a ladder I could borrow as I need to get up higher to reach something and he said sure.

So I borrowed a step ladder from him and when I went to return it I said can I come in I want to talk to you about that green car parked out there in your parking spot. So I go in and I said Maureen and Karl like to “alpha dog” the new people in the neighborhood and they really don’t have the right to use that parking spot. That green car is supposed to be parked down by the water in the waterfront parking lot as that is where it was parked before they just decided to take that spot. So right now you are parked in their parking spot and when they come back you need to refuse to get out of their spot until they move that green car out of your parking spot. You should think about spending the night and holding that parking spot hostage so that they can’t get into their beloved parking spot.

So then the guy says, well I don’t know the arrangement that they may have had with Joe but I left them a note on their door. Now Joe is the brother-in-law that moved out temporarily to allow this new guy to work on the house. So I said he didn’t have an agreement with Joe, they just decided to take over that parking spot and you need to stay in that spot until he removes that green car from your spot as you have to have access and egress to your house.

Now Karl has a new truck that he just purchased in 2010 and it makes this hideous beep beep beep sound as a part of the back up sensors when it is backing up. Karl just lives to make all this noise in the neighborhood to announce that he has arrived. Karl is an older man who looks and walks like a little organ grinder monkey. Anyway this guy lives to make all that unnecessary noise while backing up.

So Karl comes home and makes his usual noise with the backup sensors and doesn’t park in his spot because the new neighbor was parked in his spot so I am in my house with a view on all the action because just minutes before I told the new neighbor to stand his ground and not move his car. Also I told him to hold his spot hostage. So I noticed that Karl did not have the nerve to knock on the new neighbor’s door and ask him to move his car he just parked in another spot and went on inside the house. Don’t you know the new guy moved his car as soon as he heard Karl’s loud backup sensors without making him remove the green car from his spot in spite of the fact the I had just told him how Karl and Maureen like to haze the new people in the neighborhood and cause problems with the new neighbors. I mean you would have to have lived here for a while to know that that green car was supposed to be parked down by the water NOT in his parking spot.

These people had no right to just get in there and take someone else’s parking spot. Who do they think they are?! I tried to help the guy because I know how they like to alpha dog the new people in the neighborhood but my feeling is if I go out of my way to help you and I tell you what to do and you don’t do it then that makes me look stupid! If he wasn’t going to stand his ground then why did he ask me if I knew anything about the green car parked in his parking spot to begin with?! I even had to tell this guy that Karl didn’t have an agreement with Joe they just took over that parking spot and they had no right to do so! I mean how thick are you to not get that fact? I dunno…

Do not attempt to pay off the fines from your two prior embezzlement convictions by embezzling from your latest employer. This gem comes from a woman who actually thought this was a good idea. The judge “threw the book” at her to protect the local businesses.

If the police approach you for questioning, keep your cool. Be careful if you decide to flee. A not “as smart as your average bear” criminal was approached by the police for questioning about an assault. Deciding impulsively to flee, he thought better when he climbed out a window. A window on the 23rd floor of the building! He was heard begging the police to rescue him while he has hanging on the edge. That made it handy to get a confession…

If you really need a driver’s license, just pay the $20, stand in line like the rest of us and avoid jail. A man in Missouri with less than a criminal mind stole a printer from the local DMV office. What could be cooler than printing your very own driver’s license? Knowing how to operate the printer, that’s what. Missouri being the “Show Me” state, the enterprising criminal called the tech support number and wanted help operating the printer. Isn’t that what tech support is for? Needless to say, this dim bulb is now making license plates, instead of driver’s licenses.

Who wouldn’t like a blank check for the holidays? Especially someone else’s? A thief used all his cunning and skill in the perfect crime. After burglarizing a suburban home, he made his getaway with blank checks belonging to the owner. Feeling as invincible as the Pink Panther, this wily crook decided to stop at the bank, make one of the blank checks payable to himself, forge the owner’s signature and get some cash. Sounded like a plan to him. He pulled up to the drive thru window, offered up his social security card and driver’s license as identification and waited. The teller turned around and told another employee of the bank that someone was trying to cash one of her checks at the window. The police arrived as the teller stalled the idiot. Another perfect crime foiled.

An aspiring bank robber was not much for details. He had a note demanding money ready. Being a crafty criminal, he wrote the note on a piece of cardboard using a crayon. Completely untraceable. He was disguised; even his own mother would not recognize him. He entered the bank, approached a teller and showed her the note he was so proud of. The teller, ready to comply asked him where his bag was to put the money. The devil is in the details. He got so flustered; he left the bank without a dime. Let this be a lesson. Always keep your environmental friendly cloth shopping bag in your car, just for these little emergencies.

An east coast man had thought of everything to do his nasty deeds. He had attached flashing lights on the top of his SUV, and had a fake badge that he thought could pass any inspection. No doubt he had practiced his walk and approach to unsuspecting vehicles. He had just the right swagger and the voice of authority. He was ready. He was cruising the highway looking for an easy mark. He pulled up behind a car and decided that this was the one. He put on his overhead lights and pulled over the motorist. As he approached the car, he flashed his phony badge to the driver, who quickly responded with the words no criminal wants to hear, “That’s not a real badge, NOW this is a real badge”! Phony cop 0, real deputy 1.

Some criminals just cannot resist a crime of opportunity. A young man had driven to his bank and used the after hours ATM, as millions of people do everyday. A man who demanded his wallet and car keys approached him. Once the robber got the items, he quickly made the owner of the car get in the trunk. Some cash in his hand and a new set of wheels for the night, this kidnapper was feeling good. In the mean time, the owner of the car was on the phone with; you guessed it, the police. Car stopped, bad guy arrested without incident.

Pirated DVD’s. So, thousands of DVD’s just happen to come into your possession. You’ve hit the jackpot. You’ve just won the lottery. All you need to do is sell them. This should not be a problem for an enterprising distributor of stolen goods. Where would be a good place to set up shop? A location where people with a few extra bucks would be interested in buying the real deal? The parking lot of an upscale restaurant by the courthouse. This should be a snap. As the guys in suits come out, offer them the deal of a lifetime on every Disney movie ever made. Take some home for your kids, they will love it. Get ready, set, here comes the first bunch of suits. Easy marks, no doubt. Who would have thought it would be the District Attorney? Busted. But wait! Offer him a better deal on the DVD’s not to arrest you! Brilliant. You have just failed Criminal Enterprise 101.

Theft of valuable items. The reasons for being a thief can be many. You may need money, or items you cannot afford. On the other hand, you are just a sick freak who needs an adrenaline rush. Whatever the case is, before you pull the big job, stop and think about what you are stealing. Value? Ease of disposal should be right up there on the top of the list. A franchise owner of a McDonalds has been hit twice. Yes, two times. Not for the cash register, not for the wallets of the employees and patrons, not even a Big Mac, but the Ronald McDonald statue. After the first theft of the most famous mascot of all time, the franchise owner cemented the beloved Ronald to the floor. Not to be deterred, some crazed criminal stole Ronald again! Is there a demand for large, cumbersome red headed, yellow suited clown statues? The estimated dollar amount of Ronald is $2,000 but you cannot put a price on the joy he brings to all those waiting in line for their junk food fix. Now the bigger problem. Where do you sell Ronald, EBay?

Criminals know your vegetables. Late one summer night a young man was driving by a field and noticed that what ever it was that had been growing there was now being harvested, placed in burlap bags and set by the side of the road for pick up in the morning. His young criminal mind saw an opportunity. He quickly jumped out and hauled two, 100-pound burlap sacks to the trunk of his old Chevy. The bags felt lumpy in the hot summer night. He knew he had 200 pounds of fresh potatoes that he could easily sell to the guys at work. Leaving his bounty in the trunk of his car for the weekend, he switched vehicles and took off for a couple of days of fishing. Two hot summer days later, he returned to his car, thinking about the extra money that he was going to make selling off his stolen tateAs he approached his car, he noticed a horrible odor. More than an odor, it was a stench, unlike anything he ever smelled before. Had a skunk gotten into the car and died in the summer heat? He covered his nose with a rag and opened his trunk. His eyes started burning and watering. Was it toxic waste? What the heck was in those bags? He grabbed the top of a bag and opened it. Much to his dismay, he was the proud owner of 200 pounds of garlic. Now with the trunk open the smell permeated the block. Once suspicious neighbor with a “nose” for crime called the sheriff. It was easy enough to trace the bags, since the name of the ranch was on them. So much for the great garlic heist. By the way, the old Chevy ended up going to the junk yard; nothing could get the stench out.
