What we truly need to be happy, to share happiness and to live a life of heaven and joy on this plane of our life. :)

Ask yourself whether the dream of heaven and

greatness should be waiting for us in our graves–

or whether it should be ours here and now and on this earth.

: o ) Ayn Rand

Whats your answer to this quote? Sure we know perfection awaits us when we cross over. We shall have no pain, no sorrow. We understand the word and promise of God. We get that … we really do those who have faith and belief in an after life with our creator.

But if God created us to be perfect, to love, to share and to make a difference each and every day for those who need us to help, why don’t we?

Why can’t we live a life on this earth, in this life shaped and created with love, concern, joy, happiness and love. Truth of this matter we can, could, should and must live with these values and convictions.

Smile at the world and it shall smile back at you.

Laugh with the world and it shall laugh with you.

Love with the world and it will always give love in return.

Wishful thinking, I hope not. One person at a time. One smile, one spirit and one love.

May we all find strength and happiness where ever our feet walk.

Where ever our spirit may be may strength and love reside in our heart.

Not just because we are loved, but because we would love any way. : )

Smiles to you this day and every day.

These words are shared not to tell a story. Not to pen a tale but to enrich your day. Your moment in time if you read these words may they inspire your spirit to become more. Thats why I write and thats why I will always share with those who really do care about the human spirit.

More often than not we think those on the outside effect what is on our inside when it is just the opposite. Time with self in meditation, reflection and prayer as well as goal maintenance can change everything :)

When we see persons of worth, we should think of equaling them;

when we see persons of a contrary character,

we should turn inwards and examine ourselves.

: o ) Confucius

While many of us always tend to look outwardly, maybe in fact much of our time should be to look within. We are sometimes to quick to speak, judge, and act out our frustrations with another person, group or thing, when in fact we should look deeper within ourselves.

We are not our environment that we are born into, nor are we the instruction that was always given. We have the power to know ourselves more deeply by taking the time to look within.

More time should be taken in three areas each and every day.

Area # 1 Prayer

Area # 2 Spoken Gratitude

Area # 3 Meditation

Prayer can be first thing in the morning, perhaps before breakfast and coffee, just a few minutes with God and giving praise and thanksgiving for another day alive.

Spoken Gratitude just speaking aloud what your grateful for, your family, your pets, your house, your life, health, ability to provide, your job etc. We take so much for granted in our lives and speaking the gratitude not only sends a message to the universe it sends a message back to us.

Meditation is just the simple practice of listening to nature, God, the energy that flows around us each and every day. A few minutes or 30 minutes can do a wonderful thing to clear out all the noise and doubt that each one of us can carry with us each day.

Try these things, see if they work for you. When we look within first the whole world around us starts to look differently.

Smiles to you this day : ) Enjoy

Weekly Affirmation for this week.

My life has limitless possibilities. I choose to live each moment with love and acceptance. Every time I breathe in and breathe out I feel more at peace and powerful. I choose with confidence my dreams and goals. Only I alone can place limits on my success. I am loved, I am grateful and I am designed to be successful in everything that I put my best efforts towards. Successful and loving people come into my life today.

Enjoy your week, share a smile, share in some laughter and dream big and love always : ) Smiles to you this day and everyday

We definitely have a double standard on the concept of rights and abortion/murder, so where will it end?

I CHOSE TO KILL (ABORTION)

They say a woman has the right to choose, but didn’t she use that right when she became pregnant? Did she not know, especially in this time, and with our knowledge, that spreading her legs and doing whoopy would get her pregnant in the long run? With this foreknowledge, and roll of the dice, willingly, shouldn’t she have to keep and raise the child?

Do we not prevent people from hurting themselves in many ways, such as not allowing them to be cannibals, because the meat isn’t cooked and is bad for you, as well as it is against social mores, and possibly involves killing someone (there probably aren’t too many pieces of people just lying around to eat on)?

Or surgery, which is banned from the normal person performing it on themselves, because of the risk of not enough knowledge for the procedure, as well as safety protocols which need to be adhered to, along with the need for a medical license.

We stop people from doing things all the time which are deleterious to their health and well-being, as well as if it involves the health and well-being of another. So, why is abortion allowed when there is another person or persons involved?

A woman can choose to keep her child, and married or not, force the man to support the child; however, if she chooses to kill the baby, the man is given no say, and has no rights. Hmmm! No rights to keep or give up the child, and possibly no rights to support/not support the child – talk about a double standard!

We are pushing the envelope every day as to when life begins, with some believing it begins with the sperm and ova, and others only after the child is delivered, but science – medical science – is proving that life exists in the child at earlier and earlier terms, with some saying now that life exists as early as six weeks, and even at conception, but we treat the baby as a bag of garbage.

Should we keep it, as opposed to the child, or should we throw it in the trash, like so much detritus?

We deliberately dumb down the speech used in the procedure and on the baby, by calling it an abortion instead of killing, and calling the baby a fetus, which means baby, but most people don’t realize that! Why do we tiptoe around this – because we know it is wrong, and we know it is murder?

In forty years, we have now killed enough children, to make up one-fifth of today’s population, while pretending that we haven’t done a thing wrong!

So, does a woman have the right to kill her child, and where will this abortion process end? Perhaps, one day, we will be so deluded, that families will be allowed to do late-term abortions themselves, which will involve killing their child at home at two years old, because mom thought her little princess wasn’t smart enough, or didn’t like her brown eyes. No longer murder, but just a late-term abortion!

We are, or were, a civilized country, and yet, I see more and more barbaric things happening the longer I live. Even in war, we give respect and quarter, and yet, here with these precious infants, we act like it is the right of a woman to murder just for the sake of convenience!

In this country, and others, I would rather be a soldier in the throes of full battle, than an infant in the womb of its mother. I would have a better chance of survival!

A New Perspective.

The topic of abortion tends to pop up every now and again, and the debate remains unresolved. I would like to offer my perspective, in an effort to solve it.

Everyone likes to believe their own opinion is right. Since abortion has moral significance, the abortion debate tends to hurt the pride of whoever is “wrong.” We are left with a deadlock where both sides are emotionally attached to their claims, and disregard any solid evidence against them. Let’s try something new. Let’s just think things through without making initial claims about right or wrong.

A fertilized human egg cell is different from other cells because it will grow into a baby. However, the cell is not capable of thought or emotion. In fact, it is missing a lot of things that most humans have. For these reasons, some people conclude that this cell is not a person yet, and may be disposed of at the mother’s discretion.

What about disabled people who are missing the ability to think or feel in some way? Would you say these people are not as human as average, and therefore may be exterminated?

What about children? Are children less human because they are not as developed as adults, and are unable to think or feel to the same degree?

The capabilities and stage of development of a human being are irrelevant to his or her humanity and personhood.

In other words, a baby at conception is still a human being and a person. That means fertilized eggs in laboratories are entitled to the same protection as children.

I am aware that some women go through a lot of unexpected pain because of pregnancy, and life would be much easier for them if the pregnancy was aborted. Friends of mine have been through that kind of situation. They were scared. In one instance, it was a choice between abortion and losing support of family. In another, it was a choice between abortion and possible jail for the father.

This is what I told my friends: No amount of pain can be compared in value to a person’s life.

I can’t dictate whether your life is worth living. You have to form that opinion for yourself. How offensive would it be, if I decided that my well-being was more important than your life, and then prevented you from being born?!

Concerning abortion, people are endlessly debating women’s rights or lack thereof. What about the baby’s rights? I think the baby has a right to choose.

Is drug use a symptom of economic problems, racial inequality, and degraded family values, it is drug use the cause of these issues?

Personal Choice?

Economic and social problems such as unemployment, racial inequality, and degraded family values do not cause drug problems. People who choose to use drugs bring these problems upon themselves. Attempting to justify drug use with economic or social problems is just an excuse; the truth is that people willingly and freely make choices for themselves.

Our environments may dictate how easily we can access drugs, but that does not mean that everyone who is unemployed, racially discriminated against, or raised in a bad home ends up a drug addict. We make this choice personally based on our individual ethical standards and moral beliefs. In short, drug use is a personal choice, not a symptom of other problems.

Drugs Are Used for Many Reasons

People from all backgrounds choose to use drugs. There are addicts, recreational users, and even medicinal users. In many cases, drugs are legally justified in some situations, but illegal in others. For example, cocaine derivatives are used as an anesthetic in some kinds of surgery, but use of cocaine on the street carries heavy legal penalties. Marijuana has been in the spotlight for years now; there is a huge debate over whether or not this drug should be legal. Some states have legalized it for medical use, such as prescribing it as a pain medication to cope with cancer treatments.

Other drugs are prescribed by doctors for rehabilitation purposes. Heroin addicts can go to rehab and get a prescription for methadone; the prescription is meant to slowly wean them off of the drug to help prevent a relapse. Despite the laws defining what is and is not legal drug use, people still choose to use drugs illegally. Now that we have considered the many different kinds of drug use, we must accept that drug use in just about any context is a personal choice. Granted, there are times when people are forced to use drugs, such as tranquilizer-type drugs like GHB, roofies, or ketamine; but for the most part, drug addicts have used their own free will do become addicts, even if they did not intend to become addicted.

Every Social Class Uses Drugs

So, who uses drugs? Sure, there are plenty of unemployed people that use drugs. They may use drugs as a way to cope with the hopelessness they feel as a result of the unemployment, but not everyone who is unemployed uses drugs. Even well-off people with great jobs use drugs. Many doctors, actors, singers, and other upper-class people are drug addicts. The fact that both unemployed and well employed people are addicted to drugs makes the argument invalid; unemployment does not cause drug use.

What about the suggestion that certain races use drugs more than others? I believe that these suggestions are biased. Government surveys may indicate that certain areas and ethnicities use drugs more heavily, but these results may be skewed because upper-class people are less likely to be caught and arrested for the problem. It is not fair to say that some ethnicities use drugs more than others just because police arrest more of them.

Freedom and Willpower

Honestly, there is no definite way to know how many people of each race in the US use drugs, but one thing is for sure: every community and ethnicity is affected by drug use. What about people who were raised in bad homes with poor family values? Certainly they will be drug users, right? Wrong. Although how you were raised shapes who you are, it does not take away your ability to make choices. Each and every one of us has the right and the willpower to make choices for ourselves; people make both good and bad decisions. We can see that people from the lower, middle, and upper classes are all affected by drug use. Family values throughout each class vary, and yet all classes of society are affected by drugs. No matter how you were raised, you make your own choices. Some people choose to use drugs, while others decide not to.

Based on my analysis, I do not think that solving the problems of unemployment, racial inequality, or diminished family values will cause drug use to decline. Solving these problems may make the citizens happier and boost their morale, but it is not likely that it will affect drug use that much. Drug use happens because people willingly make the choice to use drugs.

Todays essay at Smiles and Inspiration 2012 is about seven New Year Needs that can Change All of US. It starts with all of us not the other person. It can define your year and refocus a hurting world.

For some today is the end of the year and hopefully the start of a new beginning.

For those more fortunate, it’s just another perfect day.

~Unknown quotes

The last day of the year 2011. So many things happened this year for so many. It was not a normal year. History books and journals and prayers lifted to heaven will report that.

This is the last day I publish Smiles and Inspiration, a daily essay and devotion on Gather, Red Gage and Triond. If you want to continue to receive this by email this is the final call for you to send me your email address I will give you 3 months free as my New Years Gift to you. Send your email address to

victoryakin@gmail.com and I will add you to the distribution list. To the other 34 readers that already have…. I thank you!

So this post I wanted to get somethings off my chest, I don’t always do that. Not on here anyway. I write with the intent to inspire someone for the day. I write to have just one person feel that they can breathe easier because I have lived. A quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson ends this way. Its a quote on ‘Success’ and I will share that often through out the year. It means that much to me. It is an awesome way to look at the word that we all chase in life. Success.

Today I write about 7 New Year Needs that we all can focus on to improve our world and the world of others. I will expand on them this year in January but for now I want you to just let them sink in.

New Year Need # 1

Meditate and pray more on how our actions and reactions effect others. In a more specific way think more before we leap. Walk slower before we run. Stop before we continue on the path and be still and listen a bit longer.

New Year Need # 2

Look at our image in the mirror. Ask the simple question have I smiled at you daily? Have I laughed with you daily? Have I told you lately how much your loved? If you have not smiled or laughed or loved yourself lately, how do you expect others to love you, smile with you or laugh with you? Smile more at you! Laugh more with you! Love more with you!

New Year Need # 3

Dream Big! Stay Hungry! Stay Foolish! Watch Steve Jobs commencement Speech to Stanford each month and trust your instincts. Listen to them they will teach you what to do, think, feel and how to act accordingly.

New Year Need # 4

Be kind more! Treat everyday like its Christmas day. Not in the spirit of commercialism but in the spirit of love. Be kind more! Love more! Share more! Care more! Everyday should be like Christmas and Thanksgiving!

New Year Need # 5

Stop watching bad news and dwelling on it. Start documenting your good news and creating it! Read the news on the Internet if you must. But don’t let the talking heads and shouters overwhelm you. Spend more time listening and creating good news! Stop focusing on all the bad.

New Year Need # 6

How healthy do you eat? How healthy do you sleep? How healthy do you exercise? How often do you pray and be still and quiet and listen to nature speak to you? Do it more often, take care of the number one resource you have. YOU!

New Year Need # 7

Talk with words that will build another up and not tear them down. Stop with the gossip and words of hate. We should defend our country and stop policing everyone else. We must educate our youth like they deserve and not worry about what zip code they live in to fund that education. Build a defense that will protect and serve us, I ok with that. But build a mind that will protect and serve the world and we will have power and protection more that we ever have.

We should have a bake sale for our defense department and allocate billions for our education of young minds.

Happy New Year Everyone ! Smiles to you this day and everyday ! : )

The new affirmation for the week fits nicely here:

I am full of love. I am a creation made to contribute and share that which I am full of. I choose to share love. I choose to share a kind word. I choose to share a simple sincere smile today. Tomorrow I will do the same. I am a perfect creation. I have the power within to make a difference. I choose to do make a difference today.

This week 67 words to inspire and to affirm each day. Say these words of magic a few times and allow them to flow into your mind and subconscious.

Watch the power of these words. The power of I choose. The power of now and today.

Use these words to make your day and the day of others a bit better.

Smiles as always sent your way. Today and always. : )

Todays essay at Smiles and Inspiration 2012 is about "Having the Power within". Using that power to change, adjust your thinking and act in a way that will inspire, create, shape your life and the life of those around you.

The power of man has grown in every sphere, except over himself.

~ Winston Churchill

Power within you. What power do we wield? More than we use, more than we imagine. The power to choose, to pray, to rethink something, to act, to shape our own destiny.

Thats the power you have. We make choices all the time to take short cuts or the path of the road less traveled. Sometimes we choose to take the easy road because of the fear that road that has more work will not have any reward that deem the effort. How sad is that. We are afraid of even a little reward and we miss out on the fantastic journey.

Visualize your goals and plans this year.

Write them down your wants and make them into needs.

Shape your mind to see yourself accomplishing these needs.

These are no longer new years resolutions this year they are new year needs.

New Year Needs thats the motto and thats the way we need to look at them.

Losing weight is as important as keeping gas in the car to get to work.

Stop smoking is as important as drinking water.

Praying is as important as waking up.

Speaking gratitude is as important as loving your children.

You get the idea? New Year Needs !

Shape your thoughts and they will shape your actions.

We have the power, all the brain power you need between those two ears. Use it don’t abuse it and shape your world with love and care and make that difference this year.

For yourself and those you love : ) Enjoy the day everyone!

Todays essay at Smiles and Inspiration 2012 is about "Being Thankful" and how it "Can Only Add" to ones life, health, joy, family health and wealth. We choose everyday to be thankful or not. What will you choose today? More important what are you willing to change for 2012?

I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought,

and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder.

~ Gilbert Keith Chesterton

While many of us plan for the upcoming celebrations of New Years Eve and the parties and fun and others reflect on the year gone by, I thought maybe it is a time to pay some attention to being thankful and how it can add so much to our life and lives.

I used to write every Thursday a piece on Giving Thanks on Thursday. I felt that many people find Thursday a day just in between Wednesday ‘Over the Hump Day’ and Friday’s ‘Thank God its Friday’ . So I picked this day, Thursday to focus on giving thanks. So its only fitting that we do that today with less than 72 hours in 2011. The year is almost over!

So what are you thankful for in 2011? Could you make a list with lets say….20 things? I bet you could if you prayed on it, meditated on it. We all have so many things to be thankful for.

Being Thankful can add years to our life. It can enhance our emotional being, it can improve our stress levels.

We all have as I have said before 86,400 seconds in each day. Each of us has the same number of seconds. We spend so many sleeping or trying to sleep for some. We spend so many on our maintenance and daily functions of waking up, getting ready for work, driving to and from work, taking a shower or bath, getting ready for bed etc etc. We all spend time doing these things. We need to take a 1,000 or so seconds through the day to be thankful or would you rather choose a less powerful emotion to focus on?

Its your choice. We indeed choose. One or the other. Being thankful or being stressed on what we don’t have.

If a smile can change a persons state of happiness.

If a moment of laughter can help the body breathe better and the mind think better.

Then what could being thankful add to our life? Hmmm? Years of life.

Being Thankful can enhance your families harmony.

Don’t let daily problems over take the gratefulness of the family unit.

Don’t let inconveniences dominate the conversation or energy within the home.

Life is more than problems or inconveniences.

Life is about facing a problem or inconvenience and dealing with it. Getting over it and shaking it off is the way to deal with these nuances.

So what are you thankful for in 2011?

What will you place in gratitude for 2012?

Two questions to focus on today. Each day for that matter we should and must focus on what we can be grateful for. Even a challenge in life we can give thanks for.

For without a challenge how would we grow and improve?

Enjoy the next 86,400 seconds today and spend some time on ‘Being Thankful’.

The following is an excerpt from Dougal Mac Gregor’s “The Path To The Stars”.

The Path To The Stars

By Dougal Mac Gregor

This booklet is a compilation of thoughts, reflections, and advices. This booklet is meant to help you understand the world around you better, arrive at better decisions, enhance the quality of your life, and ultimately find and complete your dreams. Please read each thought carefully, and take the time to mentally digest and understand it. Read them as many times as necessary for you to comprehend the message behind them. But most importantly; question everything, including that which is written here, and that which you take for granted or fact. You must never accept any one idea as the ultimate truth or fact; you may arrive at being 99.99% sure about an idea, but never accept it as 100% fact.

6. Programming & Choice

Programming (or configuring an agenda) is essentially the act of making decisions, in other words, choosing. You are who you want to be, and at the same time, who you can be. You do what you choose to do, and at the same time, what you can do. You will achieve what you desire, and at the same time, what you are meant to achieve.

Choosing is deciding for yourself what to do. If you let someone else choose for you, what you are really doing is choosing to have someone else decide for you. Choice and decision are based on our frame of reference, in other words, our knowledge. The more knowledge and experience you have, the better the choices you can make, or at least in theory, because you might know a lot but have a tendency to make poor choices.

For more information on Choice see Free Will and Destiny.

Advice: Choose wisely, using the best of your knowledge and experience, seek advice and opinions from multiple others, but do not let someone decide for you. Expand your knowledge and experience, only then will you be able to make better decisions.
