The quote, “Britain’s wars for empire, far more than its mercantilist policies, dictated the economic fortunes of Britain’s North American colonies in the 18th century” is a valid statement. I feel that the wars affected the North American colonies more than mercantilism because winning the wars in North America represented wealth and opportunities while mercantilism only kept a steady flow of revenue.
