I’ve often thought about how we can describe human nature and behavior. How can we find a constructual and organized perspective of how and why we do what we do. People have been thinking about that same question for thousands of years now, and many have very different answers. I’ve only come to two.

Academics don’t teach survival or common sense. Problem solving and critical thinking ought to be more a part of organized education. More pragmatic programs are needed in our communities.

Critical thinking skills in individuals are important since this will be the method by which he will put order in his life. Unknowingly and without being conscious, he applies analysis and evaluation of the beliefs and principles he will uphold as the guiding forces in his life.

How one teaches critical thinking and how one learns critical thinking can be one in the same. However, to benefit from either learning or teaching critical thinking one should have a firm understanding of what critical thinking is and why we as humans need critical thinking.

The quality of life refers to individual’s satisfaction level in different aspects of life. Except wealth, it involves different aspects at both personal and social levels, such as health, social welfare and level of cohesion. Wealth, as one of the satisfactions in life, is too little to guarantee us a good quality of life.
