This is the second part of a new series of articles concentrating on animals or creatures that may or may not exist. WARNING: What you are about to read may sound disturbing.

Today scientists discuss the possibility of life in outer space, on distant planets or systems. But in reality we don’t need to go to space to search for new species. We still often find new animals in places like Papua New Guinea and Madagascar. But is it possible for a large creature to stay hidden in a Scottish Loch? This article is about the Loch Ness Monster or simply Nessie.

Image via Wikipedia

Nessie is a mysterious water cryptid, a creature that science does not yet recognise. The first signs of a monster in Loch Ness dates back to the years 565 when st. Columba travelled from Ireland to Scotland in the hopes of converting people to Christianity. He allegedly arrived when the locals were in the middle of a funeral, burying a man said to have been dragged out of his boat and killed by a monster. St. Columba ordered one of his men to swim out and get the drowned man’s boat, but he was also attacked by a creature. Columba then demanded the creature to disappear which it did and then the locals were convinced that the God of Columba was a strong one and worth converting to.

But it was really not until the infamous Surgeon’s Photograph was taken in 1934 that the Nessie sightings exploded. This photo is nowadays considered a fake, but it still doesn’t explain the hundreds of sightings of a mysterious creature seen in the lake since then.

So what could this Nessie phenomena be? Of course the most popular theory is that Nessie is a surviving plesiosaur. This theory is very interesting but sadly very unlikely since the plesiosaurs died out many million years ago and would there be enough food in the loch to sustain a group of plesiosaurs for many million years without going extinct? Another theory explains that Nessie is some sort of whale, but the thing about whales is that they have to go the surface quite often to breathe, which makes me think Nessie would be spotted more regularly. Other theories suggest that mere logs can explain some of the sightings and even swimming circus elephants have been blamed! A more realistic and some would undoubtedly say dull theory is that Nessie is some sort of large fish, maybe a sturgeon, eel or catfish. These animals may explain weird movement in the water, but they just don’t fully explain people’s reports of a long necked prehistoric creature.

So what is the Loch Ness Monster? Pure imagination? A prehistoric survivor? A fish, or maybe even just a log? No one probably knows, and I have a feeling it will stay this way.

This is an article suggesting the possibility that big foot a living Gigantopithecus.

It has called Bigfoot but American Indians known it as Sasquatch, but what ever it is occasional sittings have occurred right up to the present. It is called Bigfoot from the large foot prints the leave behind but based on the description it is most likely a larger ape.

The most famous Bigfoot footage is the Patterson Film. This film was taken by Roger Patterson and Robert Gimlin in 1967 the approximate range to the Bigfoot is about 100 feet. There are those are claims that this film was a hoax bur even if it is; there many other sightings suggesting that Bigfoot could be a real animal. If this film is genuine then it supports the identification of Sasquatch as being a type of large ape. The Yeti of which has been sighted in the Himalayas of Asia. Also known as the abominable snow man; it leaves the same large prints as Sasquatch.

If they are real then what are they? Is there an animal known to science that could account for both groups of sightings? The answer is yes. They are known only by fragmented fossils found in as Asia but they fit the description perfectly. These anumales are a type of large ape called Gigantopithecus. While most of its fossils are found in Southeast Asia, the possibility that some migration to North America is not impossible. It would stand at 10 feet and would be a prefect match for Bigfoot. So if Bigfoot is real it is most likely a living Gigantopithecus making it a living fossil.

UFO sightings and cryptozoology are two topic that fascinate me though I neither believe nor disbelieve in either. Like those University departments decicated to investigating the paranormal, I am more interested in why so many perfectly rational, level headed, intelligent people have similar experience and also why those who claim to have a scientific approach are so eager to sneer at what they cannot explain.

Did you see that? There, in the sky, how could you miss it? It was only their for a split second but it was huge; the size of a Jeffery Archer Pork Pie,1 an enormous, amorphous thing. But it was a thing – not the shadow of a cloud, not a flock of birds. It was something NOT OF THIS WORLD (cue portentous chords).

You have heard all the UFO stories and the conspiracy theories and you may well be going “Yeah, yeah, yeah, what were you doing last night Ian, harvesting the old whacky baccy, a secret shroom festival up on Pendle Hill, or was it a hard night on the home brew?”

To be honest I expected scepticism. You are just not convinced that all those shapes in the night sky are anything to do with extra terrestrial activity, that aliens are visiting our planet on a regular basis.

Well you are absolutely right! Aliens my arse.

All that nonsense about crashed spacecraft being hoarded in air force bases in the Nevada desert or Norfolk are ludicrous. All those stories about people being abducted by aliens down near Stonehenge are the result of one too many pints of scrumpy2. Just the ramblings of lonely, insecure people trying to draw attention to themselves. Sadly these people often end up deluding themselves that the events they fantasised really happened.

Now I want to tell you in all seriousness that I have seen two unidentified flying (or aerial as we have to say now) objects. Bother were typical of many such sightings in my area. Both these things in the sky behaved in ways no known aircraft technology nor anything that is as yet technically feasible could have. And I have never said either were flying saucers, alien spacecraft or anything similar. They were strange lights in the sky that I found interesting. Strangely though I have never mentioned encounters with aliens (because I’ve never had any, real or imagined) it is always those who style themselves “scientists” and pride themselves on objectivity and scepticism who are first to start ranting about “little green men”.

On one occasion when someone claiming to be one of Britain’s best young writer on scientific topics challenged me I pointed out that all I had reported was having on two occasions seen, several years earlier, lights in the night sky behaving strangely. No flying saucers, no aliens, just strange lights.

“There will be a rational, scientific explanation,” he replied.

There is none, many people in north Lancashire have seen similar things (like THIS and THIS) but nobody has been able to explain them rationally. We don’t know what they are, therefore they are unidentified flying (or aerial) objects.

“Well what do you think they are,” he persisted hoping I guess to trick me into saying I actually believed we were about to be visited by aliens. Do I look as if I came down with the last shower?

“If I had to guess,” I told him, “because of my background in computer and communications technology I’d say most likely an atmospheric phenomenon caused by microwave radio beams intersecting. No such phenomenon has ever ben documented but you are asking me to speculate.”

“Well there you are, he said triumphantly, “there’s your scientific answer, it’s a phenomenon caused by microwaves.”

“How unscientific are you?” I asked him. “You ask me to guess and with no evidence available I guessed. And you seized it as a scientific and rational answer. To me the rational answer is, I don’t know what they were; I can’t say they were not alien spacecraft though very much doubt that they were.” A lot of modern science you see is based on faith and dogma just as religion.. And life being as unpredictable as it is we should pity these scienceheads for their irrational faith in reason, logic and order. For myself, I don’t have to make up answers. I am quite content not to know many things because either there is no way I could find an answer or I simply can’t be arsed.

It is not just scientists who must have answers however. There are fools and dreamers who make up fanciful stories to provide an explanation for what they do not understand. James Constable may have been a dreamer, that’s a matter of opinion but his theory about UFO sightings, Amoeba Constabulae was acknowledged by no less a scientific light than Carl Sagan, worshipped by science fans but a man who could not distinguish between fact and theory.

Constable’s theory concerned the semi-transparent, vaguely Zeppelin shaped objects almost everybody hasn’t seen in the night sky. These Unidentified Aerial Objects ( UFO) are not alien at all but very much of this world. They are not of this time however, but according to Constable are survivors of an older race that inhabited the Earth at a time when … well, before there was any earth to inhabit.

Our planet started life as a gaseous ball and these creatures, beings of pure energy, inhabited vapour sphere before it had solidified into the massive ball it is today. They are not complex life forms like Cthulu or any other of H. P. Lovecraft’s inventions, although they are more gigantic protozoa than flesh eating monsters like Cthulhu. Their cryptozoological name is Amoeba Constablea after their discoverer, an early paranormal researcher claimed to have photographed them suggests they are not sophisticated creatures but very simple life forms. Like the people who believe in them, some might say. I could not possibly comment. Near relatives of Cthulhu and Co the space amoeba are those mysterious orbs of light often captured on film by ghost hunters. The orbs would be easy to by exploiting a simple lens effect but pictures of space amoebawould present more of a challenge. I reckon it would take a digital technology expert like me at least …. ooooh, a few minutes to create these effects.

The problem of making a serious study of cryptozoological creatures of course is their evasiveness. While we are bound by our physical mass in the time / space continuum we can hardly chase after beings that are usually invisible to the naked, sober eye. The serious investigator needs to master the trick of disconnecting the senses from the consciousness without the aid of psycho-active drugs. I usually manage it with the aid of my friend Jack – Jack Daniels that is.

After reading this you may believe or disbelieve in UFO sightings. I neither believe not disbelieve, all I have said is certain things would be easy to fake. That, for the evidence loving scientists, is not evidence that all the pictures are fake. I know many people who believe in ghosts, join crop circle investigations, have witnessed UFO activity or witnessed many strange things. They are intelligent, reasonable people and have no reason to lie. My approach on writing about such topics is always tongue in cheek, I neither believe or disbelieve. But I am always immensely sceptical when somebody tries to tell me there is nothing going on in the world that cannot be explained by science and reason.

1 Jeffery Archer – a British politician and writer who served a jail sentence for telling “pork pies” (rhyming slang: lies.)
2. Scrumpy, a rouht, unrefined and highly alcoholic type of cider popular in England’s west country.

Ten mysterious "monsters" washed up on our shores - Do we really know what creatures lurk in our seas? Are these unknown new creatures or familiar animals distorted in death?...you decide!

In July 2011, this mysterious 30 foot carcass was found by a couple walking their dogs on a beach at Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, UK.

The local coast guards were called to examine at the huge and bizarre remains, the only conclusion they could reach was that, because of the size, it must be some type of dead whale.

Specialist examination will be required to provide accurate identification of the beast.

2

The remnants of this mysterious 55 foot long, 4.5 tonne, scaled beast was a major attraction on the beach at Guangdong, China in June 2011…… despite the foul stench of decay.

Formal species identification of the remains has not yet been disclosed.

3

In April 2011, a panic was caused when local fishermen hooked, what is thought to be, a twelve foot, monstrous, rarely seen a deep-sea ribbon fish off a beach in Miaoli, Taiwan.

It is believed that earthquakes may have driven the creature away from its natural habitat and into the shallow waters.

4

In May 2010, this strange, currently unidentified creature was dragged from a lake in Kitchenuhmaykoosib in Ontario, Canada.

The creature had a foot long rat like tail, huge fangs, a bald head face and hands/paws where the rest of the body was covered in thick brown fur.

When pictures, taken by two nurses who found the strange creature, were posted on the town website in hopes that the remains could be identified, the intrigued locals went down to the lakeside to investigate the mystery further however, the body was gone ….never to be seen again.

5

This 5 foot long, strange, fanged carcass was discovered on a beach in Devon, UK in January 2009.

Devon has been associated with huge black cat sightings since the 1970’s, which led to speculation that, just maybe, these strange remains could be those of the elusive “Beast of Exmoor”, a monster cat, often sighted, responsible for mauling livestock but never caught…despite the best efforts of numerous hunting parties.

6

This mysterious, beaked creature was discovered on a beach in East Hampton New York in July 2008.

Some “experts”, including “Animal Planet” host Jeff Corwin who examined the photographs speculated that the weird creature was a raccoon – however, this has never been officially verified.

The remains of the “monster” were taken from the beach by local real estate agent Mr Eric Olsen, who later reported that they had been stolen from his property.

7

This huge, unidentified beast was discovered by Russian soldiers on a beach in Sakhalin, Russia, very close to the Japanese border in August 2006.

The bones and teeth show that it is not a fish, and it is evident that the creature is covered in thick fur.

Russian special services came to collect the carcass for further investigation, however, no further information has, as yet, been released.

8

In November 2010, this strange carcass was discovered on Diggers Beach in New South Wales.

Experts from Taronga zoo examined photographs of the beast, which had been washed away into the sea with the tide; and believed that it could possible be a dark furred possum with a skin disease (leaving it bald in areas).

9

The remains of this mysterious monster were discovered on Ocean Beach Park, New London, Connecticut in September 2008.

Experts believe that it could possibly be the remains of a large raccoon, despite the odd proportions of the fleshy body.

It was also reported that the CIA attended the scene and the whereabouts of the carcass is now unknown.

10

This headless monstrosity was found in Newfoundland’s Bay, Canada in February 2010.

There is a square shaped torso (with odd patched of hair), a long tail, twisted into the sand, and the remains of one flipper on the right side.

The department of fisheries took samples of the body for testing, however, no results have as yet been published.

An introduction to thinking out of the box, for people who are already thinking out of the box regarding the paranormal, whereever their interest may be.

“When convention and science offer us no answers, might we not finally turn to the fantastic as a plausibility?” – David Duchovny as Fox Mulder (The X-Files, “Pilot”)

I think one of the most misunderstood things about the paranormal is that it may be normal. Things we don’t understand and perhaps simply don’t possess the technology yet to be able to fully understand the phenomena out there. If we did, wouldn’t those paranormal investigators be out of a job? Their area of study would just be “normal investigation”, nothing “para” about it. Nevertheless, their work must be done as the modern and mainstream accepted sciences want no part of it for the time being. Whatever is happening across the world, regarding all types of paranormal events and phenomena, it’s pretty clear something is going on. Unless the entire planet is in varying states of hallucination and hysteria, and let’s hope we find out if that’s true if it’s indeed happening…

I present another look at the strange happenings in our world. Perhaps, only the fantastic can be proven by the fantastic. Our world’s ecosystems are interconnected through the efforts of plants, animals, and the world around them to keep the circle of life moving. The paranormal maybe connected in the same way. Connected, both in it’s own separate existence from us, and with us moving in concert with our known ecosystems and life cycles. So, in my approach to this large area of the paranormal, I try to think of ways to connect the dots of the paranormal in such a way that they don’t contradict something else already existing, either in the world as we know it or maybe something that exists to us only in folklore.

To knock a few off the top, the existence of UFOs does not contradict whether the Loch Ness Monster exists or not. Both could co-exist at the same time. Likewise prophets and their prophecies don’t contradict the existance of ghosts. The cryptozoology field itself has a natural basis for everything in it to be true, just undiscovered. In another direction the idea of enhanced consciousness and levels of spirituality naturally contradict nothing in the psychical world. Science is moving in leaps and bounds in certain aspects of this area and it may one day be proven, but for now, telekenesis, telepathy and other mind powers remain in the paranormal category. No “mind power” contradicts any of the above either, it too can exist at the same time. To change directions again, Scottish legends of Little People could fall in a number of categories. It could simply be cryptozoology being a race of pygmies in different areas of the Earth.

It all must be approached with a healthy bit of skepicism of course. There are hoaxed tales and hoaxed evidence to all of the above subjects I listed. The thing to remember is that we’ve got tens of thousands of years of folklore, stories, legends and our modern sights to draw on for information. I believe all the pieces are there to solve some of the puzzle. We just don’t know what the big picture is supposed to look like. The vast majority of this field makes the average person take a leap of faith too far for them most of the time, but if enough people don’t do it, how are we ever to going to the bottom of our planet’s mysteries?

Hoping for a buck.

I poured wild stag scent on me,

I was snoozing in my tree stand

Twelve feet off the ground.

I guess she must have snuck up–

‘Cause when I woke, I found…

Near Mount Adams in Washington State there is a cave called “Ape Cave” because the first people who discovered it were chased from its entrance by an ape that emerged and began throwing stones at them. Near the Three Sisters Mountains in the high pine wilderness of Oregon, tales of the existence of Sasquatch are reported.

I met a man near McCall, Idaho who claimed that years before he and some hunting buddies were harassed and attacked one night by a great monster who slunk around the perimeter of the campfire they kept fueled to prevent the beast’s closer approach. The beast snapped off saplings and uprooted small trees all around the perimeter of the camp. At daylight, the monster retreated, and they made their escape—leaving a side of smoked bacon beside their tent. When they returned, they discovered great footprints unlike any bear, which, if it had returned, would have stolen that bacon. The man was certain they had been accosted by Big Foot.

Yet another article about Nessy. The difference here, is that I am not arguing for one side or the other. I mean, how could I? I haven't seen the thing. I am only arguing for the possibility.

So here is the deal, for those of you who don’t know much of this cryptid. Back in the 30’s, somebody claimed to see a serpentile creature swimming through Loch Ness. Over 70 years later, people are still claiming to have seen the beast. It is one of very few cryptids to be caught on video.

Every skeptic has some way of arguing against it. They say they have searched and found nothing, that the videos are fakes/misconceptions, and plenty more. I hope to outline the reasons why we can’t know. I don’t want to prove ti one way or the other, I’m just telling people why it’s a possibility.

First argument: We have used sonar, and searched, and have not found the beast. Well, that makes perfect sense. Most reptiles don’t live for 70 years. If this thing is rare, it would have trouble being able to mate, and may ahve jsut dies, and been covered by debris/mud on the surface of the lake. Not only that, the Loch Ness has tunnels that connect directly to the ocean. This creature could easily have slipped out there.

Second argument: The videos and pictures are fakes. See, that’s an argument anyone can make. How can you prove it wrong? Well, one of the ebst videos was shot on tape. Actual, physical tape. Not a digital recording, and it wasn’t transferred to VHS, they have the actual film. Waht was recorded was recorded. So of course, it was brought to an FBI video examiner. The man said, “That could be anything, we can’t tell if it’s a reptile, it looks like a flock of birds.” Although, he also said that the video was real. If you zoom out, it does look like a large snake swimming through the water.

Third argument: We know of no reptile that can breathe underwater. Well, no, not any living reptile. What about the plesiosaur? A few different dinosaurs lived in the water. A dinosaur is a reptile. Not only that, many of these people belive in evolution. They believe that life will find a way, and that animals evolve to their surroundings. If that were the case, if the creature had some land animal predator, it could learn to swim, and breathe underwater.

Now, every similar sighitng to the Loch Ness sightings was also in a place where the creature could reach the ocean. We have not explored the majority of the ocean. We do not know what is down there, and we should never speculate that something must be false because it seems unlikely. Is a giant squid not scared of people, shooting ink at them when seen, and swimming away? This creature is possibly an herbivore, and not aggressive. If it saw us coming, it might just run away.

Also, many reports from hundreds of years ago described similar creatures in the ocean. these reports came from various cultures, even in the B.C. era. People have been seeing it for years. It isn’t like tracking something on land, it is something that is under the water. If can stay away from view.

I’m not asking you to believe it exists. In fact, don’t belive it exists, unelss you’ve seen it. Just keep it in your mind as a possibility, just like any other theory. As ridiculous as sea monsters might seem, we have accomplished and found some ridiculous things over the years. Imagine how Alexander Graham Bell would look at my Android phone. Look at the Coelacanth. We found that just recently, and thought that it had been extinct for thousands of years.

Just know this: Somewhere out there, is a creature we have not labeled, seen, or even rumored. Deep in the ocean’s unexplored depths, there are creatures beyond your imagination.

An article about bigfoot.

Crypto zoology

Bigfoot, a name that sends chills down some people spines and conjures images of folklore in the minds of others; this is the topic of my first follow-up article on cryptiods. Bigfoot or Sasquatch is usually described as a large, hairy, bipedal humanoid thought to inhabit North America and Canada and in particular the Pacific Northwest region. The Native Americans have long told stories of the large eight to ten foot monster and have long feared it and seen it as somewhat of a devil. The modern image of Bigfoot is that of a man in a monkey suit walking along a dry lake bed, this image being created by two men, the name of the scene is the Patterson-Gimlin film which was filmed in October of 1967. If not for this hoax would people like me and you believe in his illusive creature that’s thought to wonder the vast uncharted forests of the west coast, in my mind the answer is yes. Human nature tends to force us to reject the unknown and undiscovered because of our primordial fear of the unknown and the fact that we do not like being in control of our surroundings. Is human nature getting in our way when analytical study tells us to keep moving forward? Maybe what we need to do is stop looking for the monster or creature whatever you see it as and allow the truth to find us. The Sasquatch was a relatively undisturbed cryptoid before the 1950’s and this leads me to ask myself is it the times and attitudes of the word that changed our perspective on the unknown. There was only rumor and speculations before that and if history dictates the future we may have something here that needs further discovery. The yeti of the Himalayas which will be the focus of the next article seems to keep the door open on the Sasquatch or Bigfoot. Since the study of Crypto zoology is a unrecognized field it leaves a niche for writers and fringe scientists to conjures up their own images of the unknown. Until next time keep your mind and your eyes open and maybe you will be the net great chapter in modern discovery.

The ever going question, is Bigfoot real or is he just a big hairy hoax?

Bigfoot or also know as Sasquatch is an alleged ape-like creature inhabiting forests in the Pacific Northwest region of North America. Many believers of Bigfoot say that he can be found all over the world. One of these places would be the Himalayas, but there he is called the Yeti.

People have described Bigfoot as a large ape-like creature ranging from 6 to 10 feet tall, weighing in excess of 500, and being covered in dark brown or reddish hair. Other witnesses have described large eyes, and a large low set forehead. Bigfoot is also said to have a very strong and unpleasant smell. He got his name from some very large foot prints found that were 24 inches long and 8 inches wide. While most cast of his foot that have been found have had five toes, some have had toes ranging from two to six. Some of the cast have even had four toes with claws, which means that those could have just came form a bear.

Image from: http://s3.amazonaws.com/readers/2010/10/21/pattersonbigfootlg_1.jpg

In 1967 Roger Patterson and Robert Gimlin reported that on October 20 they had captured a purported Sasquatch on film at Bluff Creek, California. This came to be known as the Patterson-Gimlin film, which is said to be the best evidence of Bigfoot by many advocates. Many years later, Bob Heironimus, an acquaintance of Patterson’s, claimed that he had worn an ape costume for the making of the film.

Now the question is, does this giant ape like creature actually exist or is he just one big scandal? That question is up to you to answer though. Personally i am a believer of Bigfoot, but that is just my opinion. Someone could just be imitating Bigfoot but no one really knows, and I would like someone to figure out if he is real or not in my life time.

This article identifies five cryptids (creatures with little evidence of existence) that remain the most interesting to study, whether they be mysterious, oft-sighted, or just plain cool.

When the word cryptozoology is heard or read, it often brings to mind mythic creatures like the Loch Ness Monster or Bigfoot. But the field of cryptozoology is rife with creatures that the general public hears little about; in fact, the website The Cryptid Zoo lists over one-hundred creatures that people claim to have seen but still remain elusive to scientific evidence. It’s easy to be overwhelmed by the number of creatures that remain unseen by human eyes, so here are five of the most exciting, and most mysterious, creatures.

1. Gourd Head (Negro d’Agua)

Perhaps the name gives the physical appearance of this cryptid away, but it only emphasizes its unique qualities. The Gourd Head has been sighted in Brazil, generally around rivers or other bodies of water. Reports say that the Gourd Head is a tiny dark creature with a bald, gourd-shaped head; its affection for water stems from its webbed hands and feet, along with the supposed ability to breathe underwater. Its personality is up for debate – some say the Gourd Head is very timid, while some folklore alleges that the creature drags his prey down into the depths of the water to devour it.

2. Tatzelwurm

The tatzelwurm is described as a cross between a feline and a snake; it has a serpentine body covered in scales, with two arms and a cat’s head also covered in scales. They are considered to be at least six feet long, but contemporary sightings are rare, and it is thought that the creature, if ever real, is now extinct. The tatzelwurm was mostly sited in the Alps of Switzerland, Italy, Austria, and France.

3. Ogopogo

The myth of the Ogopogo much resembles that of the Loch Ness Monster, including a similar physical description. But the mysterious draw of the Ogopogo comes from the fact that it was supposedly spotted by over 30 cars in 1926. The sea monster was spotted in Canada’s Lake Okanaga and generally described as 15 feet long. Cryptoozologist Roy P. Mackel equated its physical characteristics to that of Basilosaurus cetoides, a primitive whale. Could all of those people really have seen the Ogopogo, or was it just something in the water? Only further investigation will tell.

4. Orang-Bati

The Orang-Bati are thought to inhabit the island of Seram in Indonesia, where unexplored rainforests abound. Described as having a simian appearance along with bat-like wings that are capable of flight, the Orang-Bati supposedly prey on small children in Seram, swooping down and grabbing the kids with their large talons. A theory has been proposed that the Orang-Bati might be giant bats who feed on monkeys; with Seram’s lack of primates, the Orang-Bati mistake small children for their prey and scoop them up. Nothing has been proven, however, so if you’re ever in Seram with your children… take cover.

5. Con Rit

The con rit is a giant millipede-like sea monster normally sighted in bodies of water near South East Asia; eyewitness accounts have reported seeing the con rit in the waters off the coast of Algeria and beached on the shores of Vietnam. The monster is said to be almost 130 feet long, with an armored body covered in protrusions like that of the millipede. The most surprising aspect of the con rit? A dead specimen was allegedly found in 1883, although the carcass was eventually brought out to sea and, unfortunately, all evidence was lost.

So there you have it: five reality-bending cryptids sure to raise the hair on the back of your neck. My suggestion to those of you venturing in the vicinities of these mythic monsters: please bring a camera to document your findings.
