It was so delicious that it looked like as if it was my first time to eat any rice at all. The burnt rice in the bottom of the pot was so hard that it looked like a giant iceberg. That was not rubbish as one may imagine, as the children were lined up to get their share of that too before the big event when they throw sweets over the bride and we had to have our share of that too.

The dance, the song and the rice became a triangle that I never forget, although now I may easily forget things I did one day ago.

Pirates vs Samurais.

I don’t know much about Samurais, except that they are very,very efficient with their swords.

Pirates on the other hand, inspire adventure, treasure and nights at sea drinking Rum and recalling great stories. Bandannas across their heads, skull tattoos and the irresistible eye-patch! Of course the movie has none of those but, there are some skeletons.

“I’m Robert Alexander III but you can call me Moose.” Skinny guy, nice hair, nice guy and some mad dancing skills. He never disappoints. Not in Step-up2 and certainly not in Step-Up3 where he is hand-picked by the pirates.

The pirates are a crew ran by Luke- leader of the volt. The movie has the same old , same old battle after battle after battle, however what sets it apart is the 3D effect.

Forgive my ignorance or inexperience, but, I’d never been to a 3D movie before- this was a first for me.I tried peeking out of my glasses and everything was blurry-dah! That’s why they give you glasses, where the movie comes to life.

Beware though(if you haven’t watched it): some of the battling styles, will be all up in your face. That was a bit scary though but very interesting how technology has evolved!

The battling styles were mainly same-old,same-old, the 3D saved them though from being a bit too regular.

The biggest disappointment was the main characters or rather the story line of Luke and Natalie. Boy meets girl, fall for each other at the riverside-which happens to be in New York City- the exact same story like Step-Up1 and sadly, the almost exact same scene. Only this time boy feels betrayed by girl, girl comes weeping back, they dance and ride off together to California Sunset…boring!

NB:Shrek revolutionized fairy tales so, that same-old, same old doesn’t bring it anymore!

Simple classics like Moose’s crew actually getting tiny little kids to battle with them was off the charts. WOW! Seeing 5-7 year old defying gravity in unspeakable ways had my tongue-tied.What happened to hula-hoops and double-dutch? Instead there’s this Little girl who does head-spins for……wait for it…a whole minute!

Another all time favourite was when Moose and Camille take us back in time dancing to an oldies favourite- now that was awesome and hilarious.

The icing on the cake, in  the final battle when the pirates unleash their “treasure!”They glitter and light-up the place with lasers from their clothes. How do they do that? My expressions here couldn’t do justice to the visual effects, you have to watch and prepare to get blown away!

Ratings: Nice.

This one is, though you wouldn’t know it, is sponsored by T-Mobile. It struck on December 1st just outside Chicago Illinois at Woodfield Mall.

T-Mobile, no stranger to the flash mob, turned to Director Alfonso Gomez-Rejon and Musical Director Paul Mirkovich to pull off this warm and updated performance of the holiday classic, “(There’s No Place Like) Home For The Holidays.”

All criticisms about this video/commercial aside, T-Mobile was extremely reserved about taking any credit for this “feel good” experience.

For those unfamiliar with Girls’ Generation, it is a nine-member South Korean girl group formed by S.M. Entertainment in 2007. The nine members are: Taeyeon,Jessica,Yuri,Tiffany, Sooyoung, Seohyun, Yoona,Sunny,and Hyoyeon . Their fans refer to the group as SoShi or SNSD, the first of which is an abbreviation and the second, mainly used outside Korea, is an acronym of the group’s Korean name So Nyuh Shi Dae.

“The Boys” is part of Girls’ Generation’s latest album, by the same name. Though only out 48 hours, the song is already #1 on the Japanese charts. It is rumored that the group is priming itself “for a U.S. invation.”
