Minecraft allows you to change the feel and design of their game through the help of texture packs. It’s easy to get lost when trying to find a nice texture, so this guide should help you out!

Number 10: The Glory of Egypt Texture Pack

This texture pack is fairly self-explanatory. The pack makes for an awesome Egyptian or desert themed world. Zombies turn to mummies, and sandstone and sand look like just that of Egypt. The distinctive Egypt feel will surely lend you unlimited creative power when fashioning desert style structures. You can make great pyramids or even recreate the Sphinx in this texture pack!

Number 9: Cubecraft

Cubecraft is a simple Minecraft texture pack. It offers nice, clean gameplay with little difficulty when distinguishing between different blocks. Cubecraft has some great shadowing and each texture does the job that it needs to do. Although you surely won’t feel like your world is real life, Cubecraft offers great relief to the standard Minecraft texture pack.

Number 8: StarMines Texture Pack

Starmines texture pack offers items and mobs from the Star Wars movies. Each type of sword turns into a different coloured lightsaber. Bow and arrows turn into blaster pistols and bullets. Each armour set is a different type of character from the Star Wars movies. This texture pack will give even the most hard-core of Star Wars fans the fun and entertainment that they need!

Number 7: Super Mario Texture Pack

This texture pack is one of my favourites. Each and every block looks like a block or component of the Super Mario video game! You can easily generate a 2D map that looks just like the worlds from the NES game. It features all the classic Mario textures, like green vines as ladders, POW blocks instead of TNT and white note blocks instead of the regular ones. This texture pack will offer some retro gameplay and make you feel like your right in the Mario world!

Number 6: Simplecraft

This texture pack is very unique. Simplecraft take away all the bells and whistles of the other Minecraft texture packs. Every block is made through simplicity, very plain and very blocky. It offers unique gameplay. If you want to try a simplistic version of Minecraft, then Simplecraft is the texture pack of choice.

Number 5: Moderncraft

This texture pack is best when you want to build a modern looking world. All the resources and blocks look much more advanced and urban than the primitive regular look. The pack features changes such as redstone resembling copper wire, and glowstone looking like the ground lights around buildings and malls. Chests are boxes with a “FRAGILE” stamp on them. This texture pack offers all the best textures for building in the modern day era.

Number 4: Dokus RPG Texture Pack

The Dokus pack has some of the best looking Minecraft graphics of any texture packs that I‘ve seen. This pack gives a unique RPG feel of a middle age or renascence era. This pack has a nice inventory screen as well as lava and water flow. Although this pack takes some getting used to, once you re custom to it you will surely fall in love.

Number 3: Gerudoku Texture Pack

This texture pack offers a great style of graphics and gameplay. It gives an almost Middle-Earth vibe while still capturing the essence of Minecraft. This game allows for an RPG like experience with relatively good graphics (as far as Minecraft graphics go) with some detailed items and textures. Exploring caves and fighting mobs will surely be fun with the Gerudoku pack.

Number 2: Quandary

Coming in at number two is the quandary texture pack. This texture pack is great for replacing the boring standard pack for one with some more detail. Although no texture pack change the Minecraft block graphics, this texture pack does subtly improve them. The tools and items in the Quandary texture pack to wonders for the game and help to give more of an RPG feel to the game.

Number 1: Painterly Pack

This is my personal favourite texture pack. The painterly texture pack isn’t a set pack, but is a website (painterlypack.net) that allows you to build your own. It has a wide array of different option for each different block and item, giving very easy access to your own creativity! It only takes about 10-20 minutes to make a custom pack. I highly recommend this pack if you are looking for a way to make your own without needing any real skill. Another reason for its placement as the top texture pack is the uniqueness of many of the different texture options.

Before his 1916 execution for treason and the British government’s subsequent effort to smear his reputation by releasing diaries that graphically detailed his alleged homosexuality, Casement was an Irish-born British diplomat and colonial reformer best known for reporting the horrors of forced labor in the Belgian Congo and the Putumayo region of Peru.

After several visits to Africa while serving as a ship’s purser, in 1884 Casement became an employee of Leopold II ‘ s International African Association where he worked as a railroad surveyor and construction foreman. Casement left the Congo in 1892 to join the British diplomatic corps. After a brief tour of duty in Nigeria, he was promoted rapidly and served as British Consul in Mozambique from 1895 to1898, Angola from 1898 to 1900, and the Congo Free State from 1901 to 1904.

Shortly after his return to the Congo, he began warning the British government about the mistreatment of natives and the damaging effects of forced labor in rubber cultivation. Under pressure from humanitarian groups, in 1903 the British government charged Casement with undertaking an official inquiry. His Congo report, published the next year, provoked an international scandal with its detailed evidence of atrocities and was instrumental in forcing Leopold to relinquish his private colony in the Congo Free State to the Belgian government. Following the appearance of his Congo report, Casement was transferred to Brazil where he served in a variety of Consular posts from 1906-1911. In 1910, he was ordered by the Foreign Office to investigate charges of atrocities against the inhabitants of the rubber producing Putumayo region of neighboring Peru. Casement’s detailed report substantiated the worst of the allegations, earned him a knighthood in 1911, and eventually led Parliament to dissolve the London-based Peruvian Amazon Company two years later.

In 1913, ill health forced Casement to retire from diplomatic service. On his return to Ireland he became actively involved in the campaign for Irish Home Rule, helping to organize the paramilitary Irish National Volunteers and traveling to the United States to seek funds for the separatist movement. After the outbreak of World War I, he traveled to Germany in a failed effort to gain diplomatic recognition and possible military assistance for an independent Ireland. Germany’s refusal to provide military assistance for the planned Easter rising prompted Casement to return to Ireland in April 1916 in an effort to stop the revolt. He was captured shortly after landing, taken to London for trial, convicted of treason, and executed August 3, 1916.

A history of food.

The 1950s was the point in time when American foods took over the world. The world was becoming more globalized and during the wars every got a taste of American foods. Quicker meals became available and fast food was popular. Barbeques were good for cooking lots of meat.

pic0

People in the 50s ate big meals, and so they should considering a depression just passed and the war period was drawing to a close. Meat was popular and people were moving into the suburbs where a barbeque fitted just right in the manageably sized backyards. Men often did the cooking and women did the preparation when guests were over.

Franchised dinners and fast food chains began in the 50s. The corner store was being taken over by larger companies that sold things cheaper. Frozen meals were being used as life sped up and women entered the workforce. The microwave allowed these meals to be heated up easily.

Home grown foods became less popular as foods at shops became cheaper and more available. Food at this time is still pretty healthy. Chemicals are not added to most foods and the idea of a diet was largely unknown.

There was a lot more technology in the kitchen in the 50s and people often wanted to use it. More cold foods were bought and stored in the fridge which was much bigger and better then those old ice boxes. Ice-creams were popular as a desert.

pic1

Breakfast was now more commonly cereals and packeted products like Kellogg’s “Rice Bubbles” and “Cornflakes”. Some families stopped having lunch as it was at an inconvenient time but Dinner was still a family meal, occasionally with guests, that every one must attend.

Then: People considered meals to be a main part in the day which the entire family was required to attend.

Now: Families often don’t have meals together at all and the food is all artificially processed.
