The ladies can indeed bring out the best in guys, but for women it’s no big deal.

You little rascal you. Men – you know you behave somewhat badly at times. You know that sometimes you don’t do the right thing even when you are supposed to. But, if an attractive woman comes into view you instantly turn into the angelic person your mother always hoped you’d be.

That’s the conclusion of new research that also found that the presence of an attractive man has no effect on women. Further, the more attractive a woman the more kind and selfless men are prone to be.

Donation Game

To come to their conclusions, the researchers conducted two experiments. In the first, 65 men and 65 women with an average age of 21 played a game. In the game they could donate money via a computer program. Donations were intended to be “selfless” in that all the volunteers would benefit from the donations but the donor received nothing. The volunteers didn’t know whom they were playing with and were watched by either someone of the same or opposite sex who were deemed very attractive. The outcome was that the men were found to do more good deeds when they were watched by an attractive woman, but being watched by an attractive man had no affect on the volunteer women.

In the second test, groups of men were asked to make donations. There were more donations when the men were watched by a pretty woman and, in fact, the men started to compete with each other by making more donations. When watched by a man, the men in the test didn’t increase the amount of their donations.

It’s All About Sex

“The research shows that good deeds among men increase when presented with an opportunity to copulate,” concluded the researchers. “Theoretically, this suggests that a good deed is the human equivalent of the peacock’s tail. Practically, this research shows how societies can encourage selfless acts.”

So, guys, what do you think? Do you find yourself being more generous when you see an attractive woman? Is it also the case that you feel more generous because your wife or girlfriend is attractive? In a relationship or not, does your eye wander towards the donation box whenever you see a beautiful woman? There’s seems to be a goldmine of research that can be conducted here. But, perhaps it’s just best to give from the bottom of your heart, even if that location might be a bit harder to find in men.

There are many reasons why different people donate to charity, most of them are good, but a few people give to charity for what might be considered the wrong reasons.

Many people give to charity for the right reasons, some give to charity for mixed reasons, a few give to charity for purely selfish, and wrong, reasons.

Some of the reasons people donate to charity are because they genuinely want to help the charity. This is a noble reason, and the “right” reason to donate. Others because they get the tax receipt, or because they had stuff to get rid of. Both reasons are fine.

However there is also a trend where people donate solely for the idea of getting attention, effectively they donate so they can brag about donating. These people seem to donate to charity so they can be worshiped as some sort of celebrity in their community. They wave their donation around like a badge, they want everyone to know that they made a donation. Their act of “charity” is just that; an act.

Of course it is great that a charity got a donation, but it is a bit sad that some people use charities as a way to become popular.

True acts of charity come from the heart, many of the most sincere acts of charity come from people who want no thanks, no praise, and no “pats on the back” for doing “the right thing”. These people might make anonymous donations, or they might not, but the point is they do not behave as though donating to charity was a popularity contest.

Charities know that many people donate because they want to look good in front of others. They hold events, such as charity auctions, in which people can make their donations (in the form of bidding on auction items) very public. Celebrities often use these events to look good to the public, but even in small communities members of the public also try to use these events to look like a local celebrity or hero.

In the end as long as the charity continues to get donations that should be the main thing, but I must give a shout out to all those people who donate to charities and do so without wanting their name on plaques on the wall, or without announcing it to the world; like the person who donated over a million dollars to an animal shelter in Detroit, or to my former neighbor who donated over a million dollars to charity and nobody knew until after he passed away and the receipts were found in his humble home.

Finally I wish to give thanks to anyone who has given to charity, even if for selfish reasons, it is still better than not giving to charity at all. I want to encourage people to support local charities too!

We need a new type of business. It isn’t fair to point fingers at major corporations and villainize them. After all, accumulating wealth is the very purpose for their existence. They are obligated to their shareholders to increase profits, stock prices, assets, and dividends. So we cannot expect them to provide the solution. What we need are for-profit corporations that are established for the sole purpose of increasing their humanitarian impact. We need Tithing Corporations.
Tagvillage is pioneering this concept. We will manage our operations like any other corporation when it comes to efficiency, profitability, growth and expansion. However, our purpose, our root motivation, is to expand our business so that we may expand our donations to humanitarian Causes.

Are you willing to give of yourself and help bring a smile to a child's face this Christmas?

Christmas may be far from your mind, but not for us! We are Santa’s Elves of Indy and we are a group of individuals and families, from Indianapolis and surrounding areas, that work together to provide gifts for children at Christmas that would otherwise not receive them.

Our volunteers, or Elves, help in several ways. They “adopt” a child by purchasing gifts from their gift list, make or collect donations (monetary, non-perishable food items, gift wrapping items, or new and unwrapped clothing or gifts), wrap or deliver gifts, interview families, bring in new volunteers, raise funds, and more! You do not need to have any special skills or talents to become one of Santa’s Elves; only the desire to make Christmas magic happen for the children of Indy!

Visit our website at www.wix.com/indysantaselves/site or email us at indysantaselves@yahoo.com for more information, to sign up to volunteer, to request assistance, or to make a donation.

Hi everyone.

It’s me, Shane. Just thought I might point that out.

As most of us know, Africa is poor ( No shit). I know that some of you couldn’t be bothered to look at this article..but it’s fine because you’re all entitled to your own opinion and you have a free choice so whatever.

Anyway, as we all know, the situation in Africa is getting worse. Wouldn’t it be horrible if a fat terrorist with no piloting skills brought down a whole plane because of his weight? Of course it would. None of us wan’t 9/11 to re-occur. Plus, the africans are fighting each other now. I mean, seriously? What is this world coming to?
Why not help out? Make a donation to red cross for Africa ( I think). Then again, you can always help Africa by going Rambo on the enemy africans but I doubt you’ll make it out of there in one piece….maybe 20 pieces?
Anyway, thank you so much if you read this article. At least now you know:

Terrorist+weight+plane= what happens if you put a rhinoceros(sumo) of a man in a plane

PS: You win……………………….a sack with two balls pricked with holes. Soccer balls that is, what did you think it was? You dirty people.

Sending money and other humanitarian aid including relief supplies will not end the hunger in Africa. We should immediately stop paying so much money that is wasted!

I know this thesis is provoking you. But please let me explain in this article what I am thinking of.

First of all, helping poor people in Africa who are dying of hunger because of the terrible drought they are facing, is a good thing. Or let me rephrase it: The intention behind it is a good thing.

The problem with all this humanitarian help, all the money and all the relief goods is, that we deliberately destroy African economies. We destroy their businesses, we destroy their farmers.

Let me further explain this to you with three examples:

The European Union and the USA are sending wheat, corn and rice to Africa. This wheat does mostly come from a surplus production that we – the Western countries – are paying for with our taxes. The keyword here is subsidies. We give this wheat or rice for free in order to feed the Africans and to stop the hunger. Have you every thought about the local farmers who are trying to sell wheat, rice or other basic staple food? As soon as free food arrives, they can forget selling their harvest on the market.

The same goes for meat, especially chicken. Europe and the US export many tons of cheap chicken wings to to Africa. When sold on a market there, the price is lower than when you buy a chicken from a local farmer! So how should this help the farmer?

Second hand clothing is another huge problem. We donate our old clothing, e.g. to the Red Cross (at least we do in Germany). They sort the best pieces out for selling them within the own country, the rubbish goes in the bin and the average second hand piece gets shipped to Africa. When you have read number 2, you now know what happens: It is getting sold very inexpensively on local African markets and the local textile industry does not have a chance to beat that low price!

So what I would like to tell you here is, that we should rather concentrate on helping them building up their own economy instead of constantly pushing it down. Wouldn’t that be more effective?

What do you think?

Freerice.com is the site where you can answer questions and learn and feed people from all over the world.

I’ve been linked to this site by someone one day and this site is called Freerice.com. What you do is that you can answer questions that are given to you and you must make the correct guess. For every question that you get right, the site will donate 10 grains of rice to the World Food Programme each. 10 grains for one question may not seem like a lot but what if you answer ten questions? That’s 100 grains. How about one hundred? That’s 1000 grains! If you kept answering questions and answered five hundred questions correctly? 5000 grains! Lets not forget that a lot of users are on this site answering questions to and the amount of rice that is donated combined becomes huge and it gets bigger and bigger as you keep answering questions! In July 2011, 93, 048, 163, 910 grains of rice was donated! That’s an impressive amount!

At the same time, you’ll also get some benefit as well. You can exercise your brain with the various subject categories that are given to you and answer those questions to learn and keep your brain filled with knowledge! I’ve used it myself to refresh myself on math and to continue to improve english vocabulary and to increase my french vocabulary and improve upon it. I will keep using this site to learn more and to warm up my brain!

This site is fun and very beneficial at the same time because while you’re doing your learning exercises and answering questions and learning, you’re also helping those in need at the same time! Get on the site, start answering questions and help the ones who need it, today!

If a charity collector comes to your door you'll walk with them to pop your card in an ATM attract a thousand dollars and hands it's over maybe not ... despite the fact that it'll all be tax deductible for a few individuals it sounds like when somebody donates a car to charity.

however after you begin to dig into the ins and outs and numerous views to donate your car to assist the charity children there’s a really sturdy very little reason to donate your previous car that seems. we tend to are searching for sentiment mother and family who arrange to donate their cars to grant to charity and realize some common sentiments and reasoning are very healthy. we tend to explore here.

It saved me a heap of time

When you donate your car to charity you save children you’ll need to pay time fixing bits and items on a clean car that buyers have an interest in advertising it takes to drive etc. Time is money … thus you furthermore mght save money after you do a car donation.

It simply does not feel wish to donate all the money Submission

over money sounds like money. however provide the car didn’t feel quite identical mother who told us their reasons for charitable car donation has consistently said that as a result of it does not extremely feel like giving their money way more willing to consider it.

This means that the charitable donations of cars to settle on for your car breaks down for the section will get additional for it than you’ll by selling a complete car.

If the corporate chooses to repair the car donations for his or her sale are using donated labor to clean the service was to interchange tiny components and all the other things that simply look like an excessive amount of effort for you.

I’ll need to purchase advertising anyway whatever

You pay on advertising your vehicle come from the net profit and will nothing however make the made newspapers and websites.

I’ll need to purchase the destroyer to select it up

If your car is getting sold past conditions it’ll actually cost you money to have a destroyer picked it up and took him away. Donate your car opposite and somebody who extremely wants {the money|the cash|the money} will get it plus you save your money

This tax reduction

Effectively you simply donate a precise proportion of the selling value of your vehicle to charity as a result of you can use it as a tax deduction. as an example, if you’re taxed on a cents in the dollar on average you’ll have of selling value donated to charities through car donations.

A struggling single mother's thoughts on the famine in Africa and taking the time to do what her heart knows is the right thing; Reaching out to help.

The headlines are all over the news and papers. It’s a tragedy, hundreds of thousands displaced by fighting in African countries. Refugee camps that are trying to house those who flee in order to find relief from the drought and wars that rage.

Women and men who begin a journey with, as I heard in one report, six children and have to leave behind the bodies of all but a few along the path to, what is supposed to be, salvation. This is the horror that has been filling my television screen the past few weeks and it has become an image that pops up and haunts my mind at varied times throughout each day.

It’s always the same thought, too. I’m a mother, too. How can I be sitting here and NOT be trying to help in whatever way I can? How can I listen to one more tale of a mother’s grief? One more story of a little one, possibly the same age as my own daughter, who had to suffer and die of starvation/dehydration when it IS possible for me to help. Maybe not much, but by god I CAN help a little. And if more of us stop to help “just a little”, it’s amazing how quickly that little can become a lot.

Now I know the argument that many are going to make. I’m a middle or lower class American who’s got my own bills to pay and worries to think about. I’m struggling to feed my own family right now, how can I afford to help feed one of those families? No matter how hard I may want to help, I just don’t see how I can.

Yep, ran through all of those myself and came up with the same response as what a lot of others, I’m sure, have come to. It’s just too much for me to do, I don’t have enough to give right now. Maybe when I come into some money, I can help then.

Then I watched another news report that reached out and took my breath away and left me stunned and in tears. CNN reported that an estimated 29,000 children have died, in the last 3 months, as a result of the drought and famine in Somalia. 29,000 children…under the age of 5. Gone. Taken from their mothers and fathers, their whole family, because of starvation. 29,000 families ripped apart, never to be the same again.

And then my daughter, MY whole world and the reason that I keep going every day, said that she wanted to give the .25 cents she had found while cleaning her room to someone who could “give it to the babies there so they won’t be hungry”.

Those words broke my heart as they made me realize that I was being a fool. I could do something to help! Because after my daughter said those words to me I realized that, at the end of every day, I did usually have something I can give to a higher cause.

Think about this for just a moment, if you will. How often do we find ourselves with a spare quarter, or maybe even just a dime, lying around with nothing pressing to use it for? I mean, sure, I could toss it into the coin jar and hold onto it for MONTHS as I wait for it to add up to an amount I can use for spending.

But if even HALF of the more than 3 Million people living in the U.S. today took a few seconds to text, type, or drop off that quarter into a Red Cross Relief Fund….oh the good we could do! The math hit me like a ton of bricks. At a quarter each, if 1.5 million people gave in ONE day then that would be $375,000 that the people who are fighting to provide for those starving children would have to help. $375,000 if only half of us were to give a quarter. One single quarter!

Now again I will point out that I’m a pretty typical middle class American. Single mom, plenty of bills to pay, and a daughter with health problems that add up to a ton of medical expenses. I make it from paycheck to paycheck and, yeah, I sometimes have to scrape up my loose change to put gas in the car in that final stretch between paydays.

But a quarter on those days when I don’t have that pressing scrape on my shoulders? The twenty seconds it would take me to drop that quarter off in the Red Cross Donation box that I walk by every time I go to my local Wal-Mart or Kroger?

Even I, in all my busy “get it done so I can move on to the next thing on the to-do list and then get home” mentality, can manage THAT twenty seconds. Especially if it means that I’m helping to slow the rising number of children, just like my little girl, who don’t have any means to fight off the hunger they are facing. Those mothers and fathers have had their ability to provide taken away from them by things beyond their control. Wars that they may not agree with. A drought that no man could stave off. I don’t know how many more mothers have lost their child, their world, in the time it has taken me to write this article. But that quarter my daughter handed me?

Yeah, I took those extra twenty seconds to drop it in the donation box. And who knows, fate willing, that .25 cents and those 20 seconds might, hopefully, help keep another child from being added to that growing total from above.
