in August it is projected that 50,000 soldiers will be coming home to little jobs. We are campaigning to sell products online and donate percentage pf profits. This has not been easy since sales are down. We need support for these veterans and start puitting money into projects to create jobs for our economy. Our economy is up to us If people are working then people are earning. If people are earning, then people are spending. If people are spending, then our currency is circulating and our economy is flourishing. Please help today.

we now will see if there are real Americans out there. We support Veterans and help build the economy. All I see is some people running their mouths on change but do not take action here is the chance for real Americans to make a difference.

For crowd funding to work the individual who needs money must have a project for which he needs capital. The entrepreneur then posts the project and the required amount of funding he is hoping to raise. Individuals in cyberspace who read the post are hopefully inspired to contribute small amounts of cash to the project. If enough people choose to support the entrepreneur then the donations will meet or exceed the required amount and the crowd funding endeavor  would be considered a success.

There are hundreds of sites out there that will host your crowd funding plea. Kickstarter is perhaps the best known. At Kickstarter any money donated to a venture is held in esquire until the posted time has expired. Only then will the money be released to the entrepreneur but only if it meets or exceeds the required amount. If the combined donations don’t meet the minimum then all donations are returned to the people who donated it. Different sites handle the money differently so you will want to look at the terms.

Most of the time the entrepreneur will offer something in return for donations of different levels. Usually, for donations of $5 or less you get a heart felt ‘thanks’. For higher donations you could receive stickers, t-shirts, autographed copy of the book you are supporting, recognized as a supporter of the project either on a product or on a supporters page in a book, etc. The gratuities are as varied as the projects looking for support.

Although most projects offer a token in return for your support it is not required. Kiva is an example of crowd funding that offers nothing to the donator other than the knowledge that they are helping someone. Kiva uses crowd funding to pool small amounts of money and lend that to entrepreneurs in poor countries that just need a little bit of help to get their business running. In this way you are helping someone help themselves. The money you donate to Kiva is considered a loan and as long as the person you choose to lend your money to pays it back then your money will be returned to you – without compensation (interest). You are then free to lend it again or remove it from Kiva.

Crowd funding has many applications and may be just the thing to help entrepreneurs get the financial start they need to succeed. Now with the passing of the Jobs Act 2012 start-up businesses can use crowd funding to raise money in exchange for shares in their company. This opens a whole new world of opportunities for both new businesses and investors alike which I will explore in a later article.

You little rascal you.  Men – you know you behave somewhat badly at times.  You know that sometimes you don’t do the right thing even when you are supposed to. But, if an attractive woman comes into view you instantly turn into the angelic person your mother always hoped you’d be.

That’s the conclusion of new research that also found that the presence of an attractive man has no effect on women. Further, the more attractive a woman the more kind and selfless men are prone to be.

Donation Game

To come to their conclusions, the researchers conducted two experiments.  In the first, 65 men and 65 women with an average age of 21 played a game.  In the game they could donate money via a computer program.  Donations were intended to be “selfless” in that all the volunteers would benefit from the donations but the donor received nothing.  The volunteers didn’t know whom they were playing with and were watched by either someone of the same or opposite sex who were deemed very attractive.  The outcome was that the men were found to do more good deeds when they were watched by an attractive woman, but being watched by an attractive man had no affect on the volunteer women.

In the second test, groups of men were asked to make donations.  There were more donations when the men were watched by a pretty woman and, in fact, the men started to compete with each other by making more donations.  When watched by a man, the men in the test didn’t increase the amount of their donations.

It’s All About Sex

“The research shows that good deeds among men increase when presented with an opportunity to copulate,” concluded the researchers. “Theoretically, this suggests that a good deed is the human equivalent of the peacock’s tail. Practically, this research shows how societies can encourage selfless acts.”

So, guys, what do you think?  Do you find yourself being more generous when you see an attractive woman?  Is it also the case that you feel more generous because your wife or girlfriend is attractive?  In a relationship or not, does your eye wander towards the donation box whenever you see a beautiful woman?  There’s seems to be a goldmine of research that can be conducted here.  But, perhaps it’s just best to give from the bottom of your heart, even if that location might be a bit harder to find in men.

Some of the reasons people donate to charity are because they genuinely want to help the charity. This is a noble reason, and the “right” reason to donate. Others because they get the tax receipt, or because they had stuff to get rid of. Both reasons are fine.

However there is also a trend where people donate solely for the idea of getting attention, effectively they donate so they can brag about donating. These people seem to donate to charity so they can be worshiped as some sort of celebrity in their community. They wave their donation around like a badge, they want everyone to know that they made a donation. Their act of “charity” is just that; an act.

Of course it is great that a charity got a donation, but it is a bit sad that some people use charities as a way to become popular.

True acts of charity come from the heart, many of the most sincere acts of charity come from people who want no thanks, no praise, and no “pats on the back” for doing “the right thing”. These people might make anonymous donations, or they might not, but the point is they do not behave as though donating to charity was a popularity contest.

Charities know that many people donate because they want to look good in front of others. They hold events, such as charity auctions, in which people can make their donations (in the form of bidding on auction items) very public. Celebrities often use these events to look good to the public, but even in small communities members of the public also try to use these events to look like a local celebrity or hero.

In the end as long as the charity continues to get donations that should be the main thing, but I must give a shout out to all those people who donate to charities and do so without wanting their name on plaques on the wall, or without announcing it to the world; like the person who donated over a million dollars to an animal shelter in Detroit, or to my former neighbor who donated over a million dollars to charity and nobody knew until after he passed away and the receipts were found in his humble home.

Finally I wish to give thanks to anyone who has given to charity, even if for selfish reasons, it is still better than not giving to charity at all.  I want to encourage people to support local charities too!

It’s me, Shane. Just thought I might point that out.

As most of us know, Africa is poor ( No shit). I know that some of you couldn’t be bothered to look at this article..but it’s fine because you’re all entitled to your own opinion and you have a free choice so whatever.

Anyway, as we all know, the situation in Africa is getting worse. Wouldn’t it be horrible if a fat terrorist with no piloting skills brought down a whole plane because of his weight? Of course it would. None of us wan’t 9/11 to re-occur. Plus, the africans are fighting each other now. I mean, seriously? What is this world coming to?
Why not help out? Make a donation to red cross for Africa ( I think). Then again, you can always help Africa by going Rambo on the enemy africans but I doubt you’ll make it out of there in one piece….maybe 20 pieces?
Anyway, thank you so much if you read this article. At least now you know:

First of all, helping poor people in Africa who are dying of hunger because of the terrible drought they are facing, is a good thing. Or let me rephrase it: The intention behind it is a good thing.

The problem with all this humanitarian help, all the money and all the relief goods is, that we deliberately destroy African economies. We destroy their businesses, we destroy their farmers.

Let me further explain this to you with three examples:

1. The European Union and the USA are sending wheat, corn and rice to Africa. This wheat does mostly come from a surplus production that we – the Western countries – are paying for with our taxes. The keyword here is subsidies. We give this wheat or rice for free in order to feed the Africans and to stop the hunger. Have you every thought about the local farmers who are trying to sell wheat, rice or other basic staple food? As soon as free food arrives, they can forget selling their harvest on the market.
2. The same goes for meat, especially chicken. Europe and the US export many tons of cheap chicken wings to to Africa. When sold on a market there, the price is lower than when you buy a chicken from a local farmer! So how should this help the farmer?
3. Second hand clothing is another huge problem. We donate our old clothing, e.g. to the Red Cross (at least we do in Germany). They sort the best pieces out for selling them within the own country, the rubbish goes in the bin and the average second hand piece gets shipped to Africa. When you have read number 2, you now know what happens: It is getting sold very inexpensively on local African markets and the local textile industry does not have a chance to beat that low price!

So what I would like to tell you here is, that we should rather concentrate on helping them building up their own economy instead of constantly pushing it down. Wouldn’t that be more effective?
