What's been going on.

Well guys, if you’ve read my past articles, I’ve explained what lucid dreaming is and how fun it is to lucid dream. But I’ve gotten to the point that every night, I know that I’m in a dream. I know it sounds a bit weird at first, but if you persevere through these dreams and keep your dream journal, you can do it too. But be careful.

Also, I’ve discovered something new. Listening to music while dreaming can help you control your dreams! Depending on the song that is playing, your dream adjusts. For example, I played the song “Ima Boss” by Meek Mill and put it on repeat and went to sleep. This song triggered a memory in my brain. That memory was the NBA All Star Game. The East All Stars used this song as their theme song. And so my dream was about basketball.

Many different songs trigger memories in your brain for changing your dreams. I hope you all will try this, and comment or send me a message on Triond about your experiences!

Thanks for reading.

If you have experienced a sense of loss as a result of unfulfilled dreams or your life and your plans did not turn out the way you expected. You or someone you care about may have felt your dreams have died and there is no hope, here are some encouragement and instruction from the bible. Whether your dream was to marry and have a few kids, have a great marriage, have your own business, have a wonderful career, have a college education or the timing of everything did not go as you expected or whatever it may be, there is help and encouragment from God’s Word.

Proverbs 16:3

Commit your works unto the LORD, and your thoughts shall be established.

Commit your present plans, be faithful and God will come through in due time.

Psalm 37:5

Commit your way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it pass.

Proverbs 15:22

Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.

Proverbs. 13:12

Hope deferreth makes the heart sick, but when the desire cometh, it is a tree life.

Don’t lose your hope and get discouraged, keep your desire and dreams alive.

Proverbs 16:9

A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

I Corinthians 2:9

Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love Him

Don’t give up on those dreams.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the thoughts I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Romans 15:13

Now the God of hope fill you with joy and peace in believing that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

I wanted to share this with my Triond friends, for it is sacred to me :)

I feel the need to be a little more active here on Triond, because even in my personal projects you guys are always there to give me good feedback and support. (Check out my personal blog here: http://www.jameswadmanblog.com/) I wanted to describe my first novel in terms of my pursuit of inspiration, so here it is! I welcome all comments and feedback as always. You can also follow me on twitter (@UsefulSoul), because I just started and I am a little alone!

There are two seeds from which my first novel grew, both of which came to me in my dreams. I saw death in a dream, and I wondered of the neurobiological implications of near-death experiences on the perception of time and space. This became a simple question: can time collapse in the moments before death? As I tried to answer this question, my mind was consumed by a beautiful concept of human potential. Before me was a story, infinitely interwoven with the empowerment of dreams and human emotion—the perfect recipe for my first novel. Wordless pages followed for months. I left this story as only a thought in my mind, exploring the scientific concepts that would nurture the realism in my fictional work. Science was the reason I was able to invent a story in creative space.

My second dream was less sophisticated but, in a way, monumentally more appealing. I can’t remember what I saw (perhaps a flower or a tree, maybe even a patch of grass), but I was instantly drawn closer. It was as if nothing in the world mattered as long as this hypnotic gradient of green shades, glittering in pale yellow sunlight. It was in that moment that I knew that this idea I was entertaining for months was something I must write down, something I must share. I awoke from this dream, for the first time really considering myself to be a writer. I had the obligation of sharing what I had seen. So as the science settled in my mind, I stepped back to write something more beautiful that only the magic of the human mind could bear.

Having realized you are dreaming, your brain can then decide what happens next, whatever fantasy it might be. In theory, this means that people could choose what to dream about.

If you watched the movie Inception, a duo of developers from Brooklyn, New York, have built, in a twist straight out of the film, a sleeping mask which has been designed to allow people to control their so-called lucid dreams.

Though appearing to all intents and purposes to be a standard sleeping mask, Remee – as the device has been dubbed – has been hailed as a unique REM enhancing device – aimed at helping steer sleepers into lucid dreaming by making the brain aware that it is in that state. In theory, this means that people could choose what to dream about.

Inception, directed by Christoper Nolan featured a team of corporate spies entering dreams to plant ideas into the subconscious, set in a world where technology enters human minds via dream invasion, an idea that was a decade old. That vision is now closer to fruition, thanks to this brainchild of Duncan Frazier and Steve McGuigan – two 30 year-olds, their new company dubbed Bitbanger Labs.

They put up their project ideas on the crowd funding website at this URL – http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1047510073/remee-the-rem-enhancing-lucid-dreaming-mask - aiming to raising $35,000 in funding, but in fact finding that over 6,550 people were prepared to pledge an amazing $572,891. On the inside face of the sleeping mask one finds a series of six red LED lights – blinking too faintly to wake the sleeper, but visible to the alert brain, lights programmable by the person using the mask.

During sleep, there are two main stages, these being non-REM and REM – Rapid Eye Movement – between which states people invariably swing as the night progresses, REM stages, where most dreaming occurs, lasting the longest towards the morning hours.

This device is designed to kick into action when these longer REM stages begin, entering dreams via the blinking lights, the device waiting four to five hours until the sleeper gets into the heavy REM stages before setting the red lights going. It is a brilliantly simple idea in that, whatever you are doing in the dream, you see a pattern of red lights flashing in the distance, which tell the brain that you are dreaming, not unlike the Inception totem object featured in the film.

Having realized you are dreaming, your brain can then decide what happens next, whatever fantasy it might be. To simplify things the inventors set up the sleepwithremee.com website – users can adjust setups, like when to start light sequences and repeat them, as well as varying light intensity.

Remee displays light patterns for 15 to 20 seconds every 15 minutes, though non-REM sleep is mostly unaffected by the lights, and test subjects using the masks reported no problems with use. That said, reaching a state of lucidity does not happen every time.

This revolutionary Remee sleeping mask is not only light, but also works for several months on tiny 3V coin cell batteries in use only when the lights are blinking. People can pre-order masks, available in five colour options and priced at $95 each – advance orders already past the 7,000 mark, from Australia, Italy and Spain among others.

McGuigan graduated with a degree in computer science from Lock Haven University, and Frazier studied film at Arizona State University, so their technical skills overlapped, making the joint project into an inventive and interesting success story.

In this article I write about the need for every conservative and traditional values individual to promote and vote for Mr. Romney.

I was a substantial critic of Mr. Milt Romney during 2008 and 2012 republican primaries. It is still of great importance to me that political leaders have great honor and integrity. During Obama’s experimentation with social reengineering we have learned how dangerous fascist are in any society.

I am not saying my problem with Mr. Romney was that he was a fascist. I have written I could not trust a person who changes his beliefs regularly. However, I am smart enough to see how democrats out voting republicans in republican primaries has brought us Traditional Values people and conservatives to the choice of Milt Romney.

The reality is that America is in great danger. The issue is no longer Mitt Romney. The issue is the death of America through Socialist fascism.

Obama does not know better than most of us. Obama’s accomplishments are his healthcare reform and spending 7 trillion dollars. Obama and his bureaucrats are using Obama-care to interfere with the religious liberties of religious organizations. Obama-care is an extreme financial burden on individuals, organizations, and companies. The interest on monies Obama borrowed are increasing the American debt everyday

Mr. Mitt Romney is a better leader. His resume is the resume of a talented proven leader. He knows how to cut spending (including employees) in order to save a company. He will be able to downsize government and save tax payers money.

I have written that the relationship between government and the citizens is a delicate balance between governing and freedom. Mr. Romney understands that it is not governments’ job to manage, orchestrate, or run the American free enterprise system. Governments exist to administrate government departments and protect the public welfare.

Threats to the public welfare have to be legitimate not perceived threats. Capital investment is not a legitimate threat to Americans. Investments fuel business start-ups, which in turn fuel job growth and economic growth.

For too long the liberal democrats have been brainwashing Americans in to hating the American free enterprise system. Since Obama took office he has been criticizing chief executive officers, Wall Street, and other symbols of the successful American economy.

Yet all these ingredients are necessary for a prosperous economy and successful people. We need not give up on ourselves. Everything that is, was, and will be is still possible.

Freedom fuels the greatness that decent and good people can create. Even in these troubling times I believe that the majority in any people group are good and decent people. The average person does not believe that his or her success is invested in how much he or she can take from his or her neighbor.

Only Obama and his kind think in such foolish terms. Who spent the US into great debt? That would Mr. Barak Hussein Obama. The rich, successful, and wealthy people of America did not borrow and spend America into the current economic mess.

Furthermore, I have no problem in supporting Mr. Romney. I had the opportunity of watching Mr. Romney’s speech at Liberty University (my Alma matter) and this morning I saw Mr. Romney’s speech to the Hispanic Economic Coalition.

These were great speeches focusing on the public policy initiatives that will lead America out of this current economic mess. Low taxes, low government spending, and low government regulation will allow for greater investment in American and Americans.

However, do not be fooled. I have my eyes wide open, looking for any signs of wavering by Mr. Romney. If I see any wavering on ultra conservative issues, I will report it. My report will not be to knock Mr. Romney down, but to help him improve as a servant of the people.

I want Mr. Romney to win because America will win. I am fully aware of the challenge. Liberals are resorting to all their tricks. The network news is liberal. These liberals are manufacturing polls to make Obama appear more attractive and to demoralize conservatives.

This is why every voter is going to be necessary. Traditional Values and conservatives have to vote and help promote and market Mr. Romney.

America was built on the tradition of the potential behind freedom. I heard Mr. Biden, vice president of the US, retort that liberals dream and want personal success. It is apparent liberals want to be the only ones that have their dreams come true.

I am not a slave of Obama. I was born free and will die a free man. It is impossible to remain free when Obama wants to take everything I earn.

Let us have a mature and serious conversation on petty envy. My life is not defined by how much more my neighbor has than I have in life. This is Mr. Obama’s campaign in a nutshell. In this year’s presidential election, Mr. Obama cannot campaign on Iraq, Afghanistan, Guantanamo Bay Cuba, the national debt, tax reform, and illegal immigration reform.

Afghanistan is a mess. The US has no influence in Iraq. Egypt, Libya, and all the other Arab nations who went through the Arab spring are now under Muslim extremist’s control, i.e. Iran’s control. The residents of Gitmo were not giving civilian trials and Gitmo was not closed down. Ninety five percent of Americans did not get their Obama promised tax cut. Obama did not cut the deficit in half. He doubled the deficit. During Mr. Obama’s first two years the democrats were in charge of the Legislative branch and the Executive branch and did not bother to construct one immigration reform bill. To date Mr. Obama has not issued any immigration reform public policy.

However, there are still people high on the novelty presidency of Obama. We cannot allow this man to ruin America. I have set aside my concerns about Romney. America is more important than my personal held belief system. In addition, Romney is not a deviant. Mr. Romney is educated and has excellent experience administrating large systems, such as the Olympics. Mr. Romney is also a person with high moral character. Any one when compared to Obama has high moral character.

Therefore, please get involved in building a better tomorrow for all Americans. Vote republican for president and congress. In addition, get involved in the Romney optimistic and positive public relations effort.

Deferred dreams play a large part of character development in the play "A Raisin in the Sun" by Lorraine Hansbury. This essay explores the causes and impacts of deferred dreams.

It seems as if the ones with large dreams are always the people who end up being someone. Therefore, people correlate having large dreams with success, and set their goals high, because people inevitably want to be what they consider to be successful. People often invest their souls and well-being into attempting to realize their dreams. In many cases, however the link between having large dreams and actually being successful is unable to be realized. Having his or her dreams deferred takes a severe toll on someone. In the play A grape in the shade, Lorraine Hansberry explores the impact of deferred dream on an African American family.

Walter’s dream to be rich creates consistent conflict between him and his family, while the deferment of his dream escalates the conflict. Walter holds his dream very close to himself and invests significant time and energy to attempt to realize his dreams. Walter pours his soul into attempting to get a liquor store to get rich. As a result, Walter’s entire being is shaken when he encounters obstacles to his dream. Ruth notes Walter’s changed behavior whenever he is concentrated on his dream in her conversation with Mama, where she extrapolates that “he needs something – something I can’t give him anymore”(1,1,187). Because Walter is so tunnel visioned, he can only see his dream, and as a result he pays less attention to his family. After Mama gave Walter her remaining insurance money, he finally believes that he can achieve his dream. Walter suddenly becomes elated, and exudes an aura of happiness. The hue of his aura reminds one of Mordekaiser, because Walter’s hue was indeed number one. It should come at no surprise that when his dream was crushed because Willy ran away with the money, all of Walter’s energy, hopes, and ambitions came crashing down. For a brief moment, Walter was extremely desperate, in disbelief he said “Maybe you was late yesterday and he went on down there without you. Maybe – maybe – he’s been callin’ you at home tryin’ to tell you what happened or something. Maybe – maybe – he just got sick.” (2.3.180). His disbelief is natural as his dreams just came crashing down from the heights of the elated euphoria that he was experiencing just moments before. And when Walter loses the money, the entire family turns on him. Ever person becomes bitter and distances themselves away from Walter. As a result, the deferment of Walter’s dream impacts not only himself but also his entire family. In fact, the family unit nearly shatters as a result. Desiring riches, Walter takes risks that distance himself away from his family.

When Beneatha has her dream deferred, she loses faith in herself and in the world. Beneatha’s one dream was to be a doctor, to be someone. Beneatha gives the reason “I that wanted to do that. I always thought it was the one concrete thing in the world that a human being could do. Fix up the sick, you know – and make them whole again. I wanted to cure. It used to be so important to me. I wanted to cure. It used to matter. I used to care. I mean about people and how their bodies hurt”(3.1.14) for her attending medical school. Not only did attending medical school give Beneatha a chance to help others, but the prospect of becoming a doctor also would set her apart from the traditional roles for African American women set for her. When Walter loses the money, Beneatha loses her hope of becoming a doctor in a flash. She indicates that she used to care, and that she used to think very highly of healing others. The impact of the lost insurance money is so severe that Beneatha refuses to persevere, and gives up on the dream that she once had. In addition to herself, Beneatha also has her attitudes towards other people changed. When Asagai starts talking about Africa during his visit to her, she chides him “you with all your talk and dreams about Africa! You still think you can patch up the world. Cure the Great Sore of Colonialism – (Loftily, mocking it) with the Penicillin of Independence – !”. (3.1.22) Beneatha demonstrates that she no longer believes in others, she no longer has faith in Asagai’s dream either. Her world has become grey and hopeless, and she reflects that in her personality. Fragility was one property of her dream, as she shattered it over one event.

The impact of Lena’s dream being deferred is her loss of faith for a better life. When Walter loses the insurance money, Lena becomes extremely depressed. That insurance money was meant to also pay for the house and sponsor other people’s dreams, but Walter thought his dream had more weight than the dreams of other people in the household. The melancholy in the household and inside Lena is evident in her recalling that “people saying, “Lena – Lena Eggleston, you aims too high all the time. You needs to slow down and see life a little more like it is. Just slow down some.” That’s what they always used to say down home – “Lord, that Lena Eggleston is a high-minded thing. She’ll get her due one day!” (3.1.69) While usually not one to submit to other people’s opinions, after Walter loses the money Lena begins to see validity in the statements of those who thought she aimed too high. Lena also expresses her melancholy in her actions as well. She ”[went] to her plant, which remained on the table, looks at it, pick[ed] it up and [took] it to the windowsill and [sat] it outside, and she [stood] and [looked] at it a long moment” (3.1.66) while talking to her children. Lena’s treatment of the plant, indicates that she had given up on moving. While there might be some semblance of hope for the plant in the old house, Lena accepted to herself that the plant was never to thrive in the environment of their new home in Clyborne Park. Thus, after Walter loses the money, Lena gave up on her plant, and her hope for a better life.

THE IMPACT OF DEFERRED DREAMS ON THE YOUNGER FAMILY IS A SERIOUS ONE, impacting each member of the family. EACH INDIVIDUAL MEMBER HAS THEIR OWN DREAM WHICH THEY WANT TO BE FUFILLED, BUT IT SEEMS AS IF THOSE DREAMS ARE ALL MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE, THE DREAMS CAN’T EXIST AT THE SAME TIME due to financial constraints. THIS RESULTS IN ENDLESS FRUSTRATION WITH OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS, AS WELL AS A MYRIAD OF EMOTIONS AMONGST THE FAMILY MEMBERS RANGING FROM DEPRESSION AND FRUSTRATION TO ANGER AND DEJECTION.HOWEVER, However, THE FINAL IMPACT OF THE DEFERRED DREAM CAUSES A REAFFIRMATION IN THE FAMILY, AND A PEACEFUL RESOLUTION TO INTERFAMILY CONFLICTS. Perhaps good can come from deferred reams after all.

Dreams.

So what is a dream? Dreams are basically ways that your mind lets go of all the imagination it held captive in your brain for the whole day. Mostly, dreams are about events that have taken place that day, or sometime recently. They are, for the most part, enjoyable. Except for nightmares. Those are the worst.

Anyway, when someone tells that that they “don’t dream”, that is definitely not true. Everyone dreams, whether you believe it or not. The question is whether you can remember them or not. This leads to my next topic, lucid dreaming.

A lucid dream is a dream in which you know you are dreaming. Therefore, you can enjoy the dream because you can do whatever you want in it. You can learn more about lucid dreaming here: http://socyberty.com/psychology/lucid-dreaming-7/

Anyway, thanks for reading! I’ll be publishing more about my dreaming experiences, so stay updated!

The coolest stuff in the world.

Lucid dreaming, as everyone knows, is the coolest thing in the world. But for those of you who don’t know what lucid dreaming is, let me give you a little information.

Lucid dreaming is basically where you go to sleep, dream, and you know that you’re in a dream. How does this work? Simple! You just look around in your dream and look for something unusual that would never happen in real life. This has happened to me before; I go outside and there’s a panda sitting on my roof. I swear to god there are no pandas in my neighborhood. So basically, things like that.

But lucid dreaming isn’t as simple as it sounds. It takes a lot of focus, concentration, and dedication. But there’s really only one step to it. Make a Dream Journal.

Dream Journals are simple. Wake up, write down your dreams, then go about doing whatever have to do. The reason this works is because your brain gets used to knowing what is real and what isn’t. So if you have a panda sitting on your roof, in a dream you would think it’s real. But when you wake up, you’ll be like, “What the hell?” because in real life, you obviously know that you won’t see a panda sitting on your roof. Your brain will get used to things like this and will soon recognize these situtations in dreams as well. Once you know you’re in a dream, you can do whatever you want! That’s why lucid dreaming is so beautiful.

But there is one con to lucid dreaming. You have lucid dreaming, but along with that comes lucid nightmares. The lucid nightmares are much more realistic and will scare you to death in your dreams. Unless you don’t want to feel terrified and wake up screaming every now and then, don’t make a dream journal. Otherwise, go ahead!

There’s a lot of things that I want to do,

I have so many dreams that I want to achieve,

I like photography, I want to take

picture of the nature, people wearing beautiful clothes,

sitting on a bench while capturing

the beauty of the sunset through the camera.

Yeah, you are right,

I don’t know what I really want,

I am not getting any younger but I am still immature,

I am childish and I hate it,

for me to overcome it, I set a goal.

If I reach at the age of 20, I will do my best to change my life.

I just keep on depending to other people, I find it

hard to stand up on my own.

Maybe because since I was a kid my family always decides for

me and for my twin sister, we couldn’t even decide what kind

of clothes we want to buy, what place we want to go,

what club or activity at school we should join.

Even the time we go home, we were being monitored,

that is why we grow up like this,WEAK.

Do you know the feeling that it seems like

you are stuck in an isolated place?

which you find it hard to get out,

you want to get out but you don’t know how

because you are scared or you just simply couldn’t find your own door.

I am like that I’m stuck in my own shell,

so the result, I became a dreamer.

I dream to be like this, to be like that

but I don’t know how to start.

I don’t know what I want in life

I am just wandering but I don’t know where my final

destination is.

Do you get what I mean?

That’s why I envy you,and you, and you

because you really know what you want

to do or what you want to have. Unlike me I am lost.

Dare to dream big.

I believe that our dreams are God’s will for us, planted in our hearts from the beginning of time to guide us, nudge us and lead us to our own glory. He came that we may have life and have it abundantly. I believe it is not His plan for us to have a mediocre life. He is our Ultimate Cheerleader. He will never give up on us even if we have given up on ourselves and on our dreams. He will give us alternative plans, limitless options and endless opportunities just so He can fulfill His promise of goodness and mercy.

As promised on my past blog, I will reveal some of my most absurd, weirdest and insurmountable dreams. There are more to come. This is definitely not the final list. I am not even halfway through.

Take a peak at my bucketlist.

I will soon be…

donating large amount of money to charity…

closer to and more intimate with Jesus…

running marathons…

earning more than double of my income…

a chef promoting good health and good taste…

an influential and effective child psychologist…

a healthy yogi…

a lucrative businesswoman who transacts business while basking in the sun on a beautiful island…

enjoying the freedom of time and financial worries…

sponsoring a child…

earning tons and tons of money while enjoying a good night sleep…

In Jesus’ name!

What’s in your bucketlist?
