As the crew struggled through their first season last year, mining, have faced many difficulties. In some periods, Todd Hoffman, inspired by the adventure, had a family emergency.

His daughter became ill, not breathing and had to be flown by helicopter for emergency medical treatment. She survived, thank God, but the close call caused the crew to take a critical look at their camp and what may have caused the child to fall ill.

“Water has become the prime suspect. The team was getting unfiltered water directly from the runoff from a neighbor.” Fultz said Bud, Director United saves lives. “As a fan of the series, I was pleasantly surprised when contacted by a member of the crew to ask questions about the ultrafiltration jackets, “said Fultz. “It seemed like a perfect application for saving lives will be happy to donate bottles and cans Lifeguard Lifeguard drums for use by the crew.”

It is estimated that up to 98% of North American rivers, lakes and streams are contaminated with Cryptosporidium and Giardia among other protozoa, bacteria and non-biological contaminates. Overall, a child dies every 20 seconds from lack of access to contaminated drinking water, and over one billion people worldwide to drinking water.

Lifeguard Award-winning ultrafiltration Nano Technology is the first all-in-a bottle of water ultrafiltration. Its unique design and a revolutionary approach to water filtration resulted in a paradigm shift in the way people drink. Now anyone, anywhere can be sure that they consume only clean, pathogen-free water.

The bottle saves lives all filters water microbiological contaminants, including parasites, fungi, protozoa, bacteria and viruses, even without the use of hazardous chemicals. The system even reduces the risk of ingesting non-biological contaminants such as heavy metals and chemical residues.

The Center for Science in the Public Interest launched a campaign, Life's Sweeter with Fewer Sugary Drinks, to help Americans curb their consumption of high-calorie beverages. So how can participants inform others as well as themselves to rethink their drink?

The Center for Science in the Public Interest, or CSPI, wishes that life’s sweeter with fewer sugary drinks.

You might be thinking that sweet drinks are a part of life. You can’t have that glass of water in place of a soda pop with a hot dog at a baseball game. You can’t have that no-calorie drink instead of a milkshake at a birthday party. You can’t have that in place of that smoothie in the mall. That’s absolutely crazy to you.

But they advise you to do so. Why do they want you to rethink your drink when tradition has it that you have to have the beverages you usually drink?

Let’s face it – a lot of Americans are downing their calories by means of drinks. Drinks like soda, milkshakes, those so-called “smoothies” that have little fruit, and fruit punches have a lot of calories. Most of them come from added sugar, including high-fructose corn syrup.

But the excess sugar does more than cause cavities. Rates of both adulthood and childhood obesity are horrendously high and the largest source of the type of sugar is from those drinks. A can of sugary soda pop, depending on the brand, has at least anywhere from 8 to 10 teaspoons of sugar, while experts recommend that that you limit the intake to 10 teaspoons daily. One soda leaves you with less room for candy for dessert, pie, or that trip to the ice cream parlor. The only dessert might be an apple (which is actually a good thing).

Even sadder is the fact that kids and teens drink more sweet drinks than adults, even if some of them guzzle a serving (can, glass, or bottle) a day! This predisposes them to Type II diabetes, cancers, heart disease, and strokes, which are occurring even earlier in people’s lives, mind you. Speaking of childhood obesity, a sweet drink a day can raise the probability of it by 60%.

Those who join CSPI’s challenge commit themselves to drinking fewer sweet drinks. But it takes more than just drinking at least 8 cups of water, adding seltzer to a bit of 100% fruit juice, and eating fresh fruit instead of just drinking juice. If you join the campaign, you can do those same health habits as well as pushing vendors to raise the prices on sugary drinks, support soda-free days, and make videos of kids drinking water.

Drinking water has a lot of benefits. They can help you reduce hunger pangs, lubricate joints, and rev up your metabolism when cold. A French study showed that drinking at least 34 ounces lowers the risk of high blood sugar, which makes you prone to Type II diabetes.

So doing so isn’t just getting at least 60 ounces of it in the body, but also lobbying for more water served in offices, schools, and community centers. Even better, tell the vendors to serve more water in place of those “diet” versions of the sugared drinks. Artificial sweeteners (aspartame, saccharin, etc.) may increase cancer risk and weight gain.

Even without the game-time soda or the weekend afternoon milkshake, isn’t life sweeter enough without the liquid candy?

The cause carcinogens in the tap water is well known. In fact, there are several sources of pollution. The industry, owners and nature is to blame.

** Because industrial use

Industries can be blamed for its use of solvents and other chemicals. For example, the hexavalent chromium in drinking water supplies in some areas be traced to the tanneries. Dumping of chemicals in soil and streams were common until 1970. When dumping was banned, ignored some sectors ban.

** Benzene solvent

Another common chemical carcinogen today because of industrial activity is benzene solvent. The use of benzene is widespread. Their presence in surface water and groundwater can not be attributed to a single industry.

Public treatment facilities to detect the presence of benzene. Some levels were considered safe. When the security level is exceeded, the plant has to do something to solve the problem. But to correct the problem is not a quick fix and the public is not informed about the health risks.

** No chemical tests

Hexavalent chromium, and dozens of other chemicals are not tested in the United States. Environmentalists and public safety advocates have asked the U.S. EPA to set limits and require testing. However, today nothing has been done. In some samples around the United States, thousands of cancer-causing substances have been identified.

** Are we the problem?

The owners are a source of carcinogens in the tap water, to a lesser extent. Insecticides and herbicides repulsive people in their homes. Use of cleaning chemicals. Pour the chemicals into the ground and into sewers. Finally, the chemicals found in surface water and groundwater.

Is often blame nature, due to a carcinogen may be a natural connection. For example, a small amount of hexavalent chromium in drinking water be present caused by chromium containing rock and soil.

In the case of chromium, can not blame nature in the event of contamination in surface waters. Groundwater contamination is always a result of industrial activity, the researchers said.

It is a cause of cancer-causing chemicals in tap water. A specific group of chemicals called disinfection byproducts are present in all fresh water is treated with a disinfectant. Many of these chemicals that belong to the class of trihalomethanes, or THMs, which are known to cause cancer.

The carcinogenic risk associated with typical arising as a result of consumption. When a person drinks water containing hexavalent chromium regularly, for example, increases the risk of cancer dramatically.

Normally, the risk of cancer increases with age, but the development and progression of cancer is not attributable to the aging process. It has to do with prolonged exposure to carcinogenic substances. The most carcinogenic that the person is exposed, the greater the risk of developing cancer in adulthood.

Exposure to THMs have been associated with a significantly increased risk of bladder and other cancers. Exposure occurs not only consumption but also by the explosion. THM in the air for a hot shower and some times when the steam is released into the air.

** What to do now

Now that you know the cause of cancer-causing substances in the tap water, you can learn more about the solution.

One thing that is difficult is clean drinking water. Even though we know it can be very difficult to keep drinking pure, filtered H2O: always stressed the importance of doing so. Having our fans are experiencing a serious problem that can be crucial to achieving optimal health.

So what is your water? First, the H2O is probably responsible for the fluorine and municipal water systems are now more. For the record, is highly toxic and should never be consumed in any quantity ... So why millions of people drinking? To answer this question, we must know where it comes ...

Fluoride is a byproduct of the aluminum industry and fertilizer. The reason why I drink it because our “wonderful” government has found a pressure group that stupid is good for people, not a joke, a scam to make money is wrong millions of people. Most studies in support of fluoride is carried out by government agencies: studies on fluoride is generally not … ironic?

In many studies, the test animals given fluoride an irregular behavior with serious neurological problems. In one study, offspring of pregnant rats given low doses of fluoride brain disorders and neurological problems, two common fluoride exposure.

Two other studies have confirmed that fluoride can seriously reduce IQ in children who had been exposed for some time – children are actually dumber because they drank water from the tap! Does this even morally correct?

Mark with a lower IQ is a small step back from the ingestion of fluoride can cause cancer and severe impair our skeletal system, the fluoride shown to increase the speed of the leg can break people.

Apart from fluoride is another chemical in the water, which has also been linked to serious illness NOK: chlorine! The ratio of chlorine in the water system to kill microorganisms and other diseases, the nature of the elements that lurk in H2O: Well … Conservatives are good but bad at once. There is no exhibition of it, despite some substances are treated as a result of the chlorine, the chemical is wrong for the USA! It is a very simple way to solve this problem: Our solution is below.

Our rules for living with fluorine and chlorine are:

1) Try to avoid drinking tap water as much as you can. If you prefer to drink tap water, make sure it is filtered. The main problem with most filters is that only removes chlorine, no fluoride. The element fluorine is a very small particle and it is very difficult to get rid of her.

2) If you want to completely avoid pressing start buying large jugs of water in the local store, it seems the craft choice to be the best and purest. Try and buy BPA-free containers and be sure to buy water was adopted by a certain amount of leakage: some are better than nothing.

3) If you do not want to complain to filter the tap or buy at the store, fill it with your local health food store: check the quality first ask the company how the water filter. RO water is an excellent choice if you choose to go that way. If you opt for reverse osmosis water, you should replace what was removed. In other words, put the minerals that were made during the filtering process. Trace inaeral falls easy to take care of this problem.

The addition of fluoride to drinking water in the United States is credited with a significant reduction of cavities in children. It was started in the 1940s after a study showed reduced rates of tooth decay in areas with high naturally occurring fluoride levels. The CDC touts water fluoridation as among the top 10, 20th century public health achievements.

The fluoridation of drinking water is most beneficial to those in lower socioeconomic classes who do not have access to adequate dental care or dental insurance. Over 60 percent of U.S. communities now have fluoridated water. Other countries fluoridate their water as well, but the practice is predominantly a U.S. phenomenon. Some countries have gone so far as to ban water fluoridation due to possible health risks.

How Does Fluoride Benefit Teeth?
Fluoride aids in calcium mineralization which keeps teeth hard and strong, and repairs areas of tooth decay before cavities form. Fluoride applied topically in toothpaste and mouthwash works directly on the teeth promoting mineralization, and then is spit out. Ingested fluoride from water and food sources makes its way to the bloodstream and saliva where it helps strengthen bone and teeth.

The Risks of Fluoride in Drinking Water
Some feel that adding fluoride to public drinking water is a violation of the rights of individuals and believe that there are dangers associated with consuming fluoridated water which make it unsafe for some people, and should not be imposed on everyone.

It is agreed that excess fluoride can cause dental fluorosis in children, a condition that causes discoloration of tooth enamel. This is generally a minor issue which does not pose a health risk, but extreme cases can cause tooth damage including dark stains, tooth brittleness and chipping.

Those against water fluoridation believe that it poses considerably more health risks. Studies correlating fluoride with many health conditions exist, though the quality of the studies is uncertain. Some suggest that fluoride may lead to reduced IQ in children, based on a study on fluoride and brain function in rats. It is also suggested that that low levels of fluoride in drinking water increases the risk of bone cancer. Another concern among opponents is that it has a negative impact on the thyroid function and may cause or worsen hypothyroidism.

Removing Fluoride from Drinking Water
For individuals who do not feel that the benefits of fluoridation outweigh the risks, there are options for removing fluoride from drinking water. Reverse osmosis, distillation, and activated alumina filtration are all effective methods. However, standard carbon based filters that attach to the tap or in pitcher filters do not remove fluoride.

Whether or not drinking water should be fluoridated is a debated topic. Some believe it is an important way to improve dental health, particularly in divided socioeconomic areas where a high percentage of people have limited access to dental insurance and do not receive adequate dental care. Others feel that the benefits of fluoride are not worth the risks for some groups of people, and fluoridation should not be imposed on everyone.

This is a scientific fact from studies in Indonesia, which proves that the wise decision of nutrition and health experts and decision makers in the MOH in 1995 on the recommendation to drink two liters of water a day is correct.

This suggestion is based on the consensus of the experts of nutrition and health of tens of years ago and the drinking culture in the context of UK adults, who consume milk, juice, and alcohol to 4 glasses a day. Number of intake of three types of beverages are not included in the recommendation to drink 1.2 liters.Britons used to eat lots of fruits and vegetables are also a source of water.

How does the fact that in Indonesia? For the first time, in 2009 Indonesia has the research data, which we call the Thirst (The Indonesian Regional Hydration Study) about dehydration issues, knowledge and water intake in adolescents and adults Indonesia, in particular.

The research was conducted in six cities with the largest number of subjects compared to similar studies, namely 1200 subjects males and females adolescents and adults (not including the elderly). Facts based on the results of this study showed that 46.1 percent of adolescent and adult subjects experienced mild dehidarasi, which is equivalent to lack of water bodies around 2 percent.

Measurement of dehydration based on examination of urine in the laboratory with a urine specific gravity criteria of> = 1.02. In this study also analyzed the total water intake from all sources of drinking water ie, water from food, water and products of metabolism. The average total daily water intake of the subjects who did not get dehydrated from all the sources of the water was 2.9 liters, 1.8 liters of which are derived from water and 0.5 liters of drinking water other. This means that the subject is normal or not dehydrated to drink about 2.3 liters of water a day.Water intake of milk, juice, and alcohol in this study is very low, unlike in the UK.

Water requirements would vary according to age group, activity, body temperature, and ambient temperature. Water needs for children and the elderly is lower than the water needs of adolescents and adults. Water needs of pregnant and lactating mothers need more water than women when not pregnant and not breastfeeding.

Water needs before the six-month-old baby from breast milk is that from our study in Bogor is about 0.65 liters per day. Research kidney specialist Siregar, P et al (2009) in Jakarta showed that the water needs of the elderly is lower than adults is 1 to 1.5 liters a day.

This is a scientific fact from studies in Indonesia, which proves that the wise decision of nutrition and health experts and decision makers in the MOH in 1995 on the recommendation to drink 2 liters of water a day is correct.

Messages at least 2 liters of drinking water in the guidelines is balanced nutrition for teens and adults in general, not for children and the elderly need less water, which is 3-6 glasses a day depending the age and physical activity.

Therefore, the suggestion of the Department of Public Health in the Guide Balanced Nutrition (MOH, 1995) to drink safe and adequate, ie 2 liters or 8 glasses a day for the people of Indonesia adolescence and adulthood have a scientific basis that can dipertangungjawabkan, no bullshit and not misleading.Similarly, the visualization of the recommended eight glasses of water within the current Balanced Nutrition Tumpeng.

More than 100 different types of medicine have been detected in lakes, rivers, reservoirs and streams throughout the world — Asia, Australia, Canada, Europe, USA — even in Swiss lakes and the North Sea.

While millions of people in the world are struggling to access safe drinking water, drugs contamination in the supply water has been emerging as a rising concern.

More than 100 different types of medicine have been detected in lakes, rivers, reservoirs and streams throughout the world — Asia, Australia, Canada, Europe, USA — even in Swiss lakes and the North Sea.

The concentrations of prescription drugs and over the counter drugs in the water supply are very low and far below the levels of a medical dose. But the presence of so many drugs in drinking water is heightening worries among scientists for long-term consequences to human health.

According to World Health Organization (WHO), medicine can be introduced into water sources through sewage, which carries the excreta of individuals and patients who have used these chemo-therapeutic agents, from uncontrolled drug disposal (e.g. discarding expired drugs into toilets) and from agricultural runoff comprising livestock manure. Most tap water is not treated in a way that can get out pharmaceutical drugs or if treated they do not remove all drug residue.

Experts are investigating the possible long term health effects of drinking such water. Current observations suggest — it is very unlikely that exposure to very low levels of pharmaceutical products in drinking-water would result in appreciable adverse risks to human health. But it could be an emerging public health problem if the concentration rises and also for wildlife.

The most appropriate approach to minimize the presence of pharmaceutical products in drinking-water and reduce human exposure is to prevent or reduce their entry into water bodies as far as reasonably practical.

According to WHO, concentration of the vast majority of pharmaceutical drugs into the water bodies can be reduced through natural processes (e.g. adsorption onto sediment, solar photo-degradation and biological degradation) or during subsequent drinking-water and wastewater treatment processes.

Conventional water treatment processes, such as chlorination can also reduce the burden half and improved system to treat water will help preventing entry of drugs into water supply chain.

Drugs in drinking water are emerging. We need to act before it evolves as a major public health problem.

Modern man is polluting his own water bodies with man made pollutants and this can rightly be equated with the analogy of his attempts to suicide.

Man was born out of water. Now the water being polluted and being unfit for consumption, man will die by water itself and will endanger its own existence and coming generations of man Human body consists of seventy five percent of water by its body weight and two third of earth’s surface is covered with water. Water is involved in all bodily functions: digestion, assimilation, elimination, respiration, maintaining temperature. The homeostasis of our body depends on water. It is evidently clear that water is one of the prime elements responsible for the existence of life on earth. Water circulates through the land just as it does through the human body. The main functions of water in our body are transporting, dissolving, replenishing nutrients and organic matter, while carrying away waste products byway of kidneys and skin. Further in the body, it regulates all the metabolic activities of fluids, tissues, cells, lymph, blood and glandular secretions. So water has a vital role to play in our body and on earth. You can imagine the significant of water from the fact that even if around three liter of water is lost from our body by way of dehydration than serious implication and symptoms like irritability, fatigue, nervousness, dizziness, weakness, headaches etc appear. We have seen that if proper care is not taken of the ailing babies from diarrhea and vomiting than the bay dies of dehydration instantly.

Today, the water that is called the AMRIT OF LIFE BY our elders and ancestors is polluted with hundreds of chemicals, toxins and above all pesticides, and other impurities of water. Water pollution is caused by discharge of untreated agricultural, indudtrial and domestica wastes into streams, rivers, and seas.our drinking water is so contaminated and polluted todaythat it contains some two hundred deadly commercial chemicals polluting water our holy water bodies. In addition to man made pollution the bacteria, viruses, inorganic minerals are other organic causes that are making water unfit for drinking purpose. Chlorine, aluminum soleplate, sodium fluoride, lead, and nitrates need mentioning here. It is a different subject how these chemical compounds pollute and contaminate the water and make it unfit for human consumption? John Archer in his book ‘THE WATER YOU DRINK, HOW SAFE IS IT?’ refers to an estimate of 60,000 tones of fifty different chemicals being deliberately added annually to waters of one country namely Australia. Add to this, all the countries of world than the magnitude of water pollution world wise will be awesome enormously high. Man is indulging in self suicidal and genocide by relentlessly polluting waters who does not know the importance of water in our daily life? .Air and water are two important aspects of human life and activity. Can we imagine the existence of this universe without water and air? Water and air are two vital components for the existence of human as well as animal life. man has started ruthlessly plundering resources of human life and its existence in recent times .in pursuit of his selfish ends he his become so callous towards nature that he does not concern even his own existence. It is the result of man’s violent indivuality and self obsessive nature ,man has ceased to be social animal .He is so self obsessed that he has started eating into his friends ,relatives and above all nature. The man’s plundering and polluting nature may be rightly equated with “frenzy of a mad dog “the mad dog starts barking and killing his own master in fit of frenzied rage. The toxins have entered in our food chain and via food chain in our food, in our water, in our soils and lastly in our own blood. If the water problem of pollution that has become very acute in recent times especially in certain world populations ; was not addressed immediately by the collective wisdom of the world than the days area not far when the existence of mankind, the king and lion of nature will be in jeopardy.
