Charlie Sheen.

Charlie Sheen is speaking out about reports ex-wife Brooke Mueller was prompted to check back into rehab after joining him on a purported drug binge earlier this month.

Here’s what the former warlock had to tell E! News exclusively.

“Consider the source,” Charlie told us through his rep.

Sheen refused to elaborate further.

Meanwhile, a source close to the actor noted Sheen is nothing but supportive of Brooke in her struggles and that “the kids come first” and that’s why he supports their mom.

Despite his desire to be there for his former missus, that doesn’t mean his tiger blood is all dried up and he’s given up his wild man ways—in fact, just the opposite.

“He’s just not doing all these talk shows and making appearances that may have people thinking he was partying again,” an insider said, confirming that the 46-year-old Sheen and the 34-year-old Mueller were indeed partying together, though for how long the source couldn’t say.

A separate source confirmed the thesp did indeed invite his former missus to his house to party—contradicting a report by TMZ which alleged Brooke showed up at Casa Charlie and seemed out of it and that Sheen tried to convince her to see an addiction specialist but she left before he could do so.

Calling the latter story “laughable,” the source went on to state that Charlie had a four-day “blowout at his home, invited Brooke to come over, she did, and relapsed.”

The bash took place just before Mother’s Day as well, causing The World According to Paris alum to miss spending it with their 3-year-old twins, Bob and Max. Though the source was quick to note that “throughout everything, Brooke has always made sure the kids were well taken care of.”

Mueller is currently serving one year of probation after pleading guilty in March to a reduced drug charge stemming from a cocaine bust in December in Aspen.

Aspen District Attorney Arnold Mordkin tells E! News that “the fact [Brooke] went into rehab would not violate her probation.”

Per the terms of her probation, the erstwhile real estate agent must refrain from drinking alcohol or doing any drugs and must submit to random urinalysis.

But the prosecutor noted that this just means that the testing was authorized, but whether

it is done is up to the decision of the jurisdiction. After sentencing, Mueller’s case was subsequently transferred to California. No word whether she’s had to undergo a drug check there.

Another insider close to Sheen tells E! News that family and friends are glad Mueller keeps going back to rehab.

“It’s better than not,” said the source. “They’re hoping it will finally kick in one day and she’ll get longer recovery.”

As for Charlie’s views of his own sobriety (or lack thereof), the source said Charlie “doesn’t care.”

“His attitude is he wants to live his life the way he wants to live his life,” said the source.

Sheen is scheduled to walk the red carpet at this Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards, where he’s expected to introduce a tribute to—you guessed it—party flicks.

My first warning about the predicted CDC zombie apocalypse didn't get alot of views but I was right and on to something. So now I will go deeper in detail to this worldwide conspiracy.

If you believe in God or not as I do, check these bible verses out on the very subject of cannibalism found in the holy book. The words seem to talk about precisely the kinda of actions one would see of a zombie in their favorite horror film. I will take from the King James Version of the bible, there are more chapters and verses referring to cannibalism but I’m only using those that talk directly about these “zombie” like attacks.

Isaiah 9:19-20,

19 Through the wrath of the Lord of hosts is the land darkened, and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire: no man shall spare his brother.

20 And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:

Jeremiah 19:9

9 And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and they shall eat every one the flesh of his friend in the siege and straightness, wherewith their enemies, and they that seek their lives, shall straiten them.

Ezekiel 5:10

10 Therefore the fathers shall eat the sons in the midst of thee, and the sons shall eat their fathers; and I will execute judgments in thee, and the whole remnant of thee will I scatter into all the winds.

Similar attacks have been happening all around the world actually since 2009 but have not been reported on that much in the news. Maybe it’s a government cover up or conspiracy ? All I know is the cops in most of these cases seem to have advanced knowledge of the “zombie” like nature of those involved. Several accounts and eyewitness say cops were very concerned about getting to close to those involved. I have never seen that behavior before from police who are always heavily armed while out number those involved. Cops usually can’t wait to go in full steam ahead with guns drawn, mace ready, taser fully charged with their baton swinging. Ask your self why would these cops be so hesitant and nervous ? Did they fear what would happen to them if they were bitten by the attacker ? Do plenty of research and you will find on your own a heavy Masonic influence in every police force world wide. Go to this link provided and read carefully all the words on the page at http://www.fop.net/about/history/star.shtml

Notice anything strange about the star pictured, look at the symbols. The Masonic shield and with checkerboard pattern in the middle. The “all seeing eye” as seen on the back of the American dollar bill. The Masonic handshake that so many elites and celebrities have been witnessed using. Anyway this article would be way too long so I will just leave links and if I get plenty of reads then I will elaborate further with a more detailed part 2. Watch plenty of movies not just zombie movies Hollywood loves to leave in plain sight lots of hints about the world and the world the elite are trying to make. Biological attacks and warfare are real and possible so please take this seriously don’t just sweep it under the rug. The battle for your mind and your imagination starts young and continues all your life. If you can’t imagine you will not be able to see the signs or symbols, you will not think anything of the world and believe everything is ok. I’m really tired of talking about this stuff because I know deep down that nobody will do anything about it. Knowing and having this knowledge is good and all but at some point action must be taken. Wars are won when some soldiers die on both sides, don’t be afraid to die for freedom. It’s not just your freedom that you fight for, think about it. Here are the links :

A personal rant about the need to pull ourselves from the crumbling wreckage of ignorance and apathy.

Man we have got a long way to go as a species. The turmoil that surrounds this mortal coil at times can almost be unbearable. The topics of global climate change, failing economies, human rights violations, starving populations, globalization, genetic modification, drugs, cloning, war, genocide, and what hell can be done about it! The average person scratches their head and deems the subject too depressing, makes some comment about the futility of the matter, and proceeds to normal animal behavioral function. Critical thought has seemed to have eluded the “Hive”, and this “Hive Mind” mentality is a mold to be broken. No longer do we have to be slaves to a system put before us when we can collaborate to form new systems all together. With the plethora of information available to the world via “the web”, we can learn, build and organize in ways that never would have been imaginable in previous times. New ideas on ethics and philosophy are rising from this climate of calamity like Open Sourcing, Anonymity, and the quest for “truth” and “knowledge”. I feel a different climate coming, one where we will take manners into our own hands and live in a way that is beneficial for all. All children of all species for all time. If we as individuals and communities could occupy our minds we could do amazing things as a species. Taking control of our food, water, and energy needs will be a primary step, while eliminating systems of pollution and implementing standards for universal sustainability. Why should we idly stand aside and bide our time when we can do something about. “But what can I do?” asked the one who’s lost his way. The answer is quite simple really. First you’ve got to care. About something positive, anything…really! Then you’ve got to ask yourself: “What am i good at?” Whether it be cooking, gardening, music, engineering, programming, writing, speaking, organizing, literally anything you can do can make a dramatic difference in shaping our reality, something we forgot we had the power to do! Educate your self about whats going on in your community and begin to learn about things that would be beneficial. If we can shed the skin of apathy then our sight will be renewed.

We all know that governments across the world are fighting a seemingly uphill battle to prevent our ever increasing drug importation and its subsequent social problems, but it’s interesting to note that the first International Drug Treaty was signed 100 years ago in 1912.

Probably due to period dramas and school history lessons, I think most of us have grown up wearing rose tinted glasses and thinking that the world encompassed a much more disciplined and moral social structure prior to the 1960s “years of enlightenment” so it may be interesting for you to discover that 100 years ago drugs were readily available for common consumption and, on the whole, governments considered alcohol abuse to be the greater evil.

Before the 1912 International Opium Convention narcotics were trafficked across the world with scant intervention by authorities but the 1912 Convention committed countries across the world to stop trading in opium (produced from the dried residue of poppies), morphine and cocaine. On the whole this drug was supposedly used for its “anaesthetic properties” but needless to say, things had got a little out of hand and use for “recreation” began in earnest.

The US embraced this document wholeheartedly, and the British said they were happy to go along with it and sign it although perhaps not quite as enthusiastically as the US! In fact, Britain had fought two wars against China back in the 1800s in favour of the importation of opium.

Pre 1912

The opium wars saw us good old stiff upper lipped Brits battling the Chinese as we regularly shipped copious amounts of the drug through India and into China before it finally arrived on the shores of our “Sceptred Isle”. However, China viewed the drug much as we view it today and were keen to restrict the amount being trafficked through their country.

Joe Public in the UK was able to buy opium, cocaine and poisons such as arsenic readily over the chemist’s counter and it if you’d lived or worked in any of our major ports in the UK, you would have found it amongst ordinary cargo being unloaded, and in 1785 The Times actually listed opium from Symya (now called Izmir) in Turkey in amongst oil from Leghorn (now Livorno) in Italy and peas from Dantzic (now Gdansk) in Poland being unloaded from a ship in London.

I was particularly interested to learn that, come the early part of the 19th century, travellers coming into my sleepy little home county of Norfolk UK were warned not to drink the beers and ales served in taverns as it could well be laced with opium. At that time, opium was considered to be a great boon to ward off malaria which flourished in our wide expanses of wetland, known as the fens. I suspect this laced booze was most prevalent in Great Yarmouth and King’s Lynn, our major ports. But this drug was not only prescribed for malaria, it was also promoted as a cure for coughs and colds and was often given to “patients” for all manner of ailments in the form of laudanum – a concoction of opium mixed with alcohol.

Balmoral Castle, Scotland

Amongst the great and the good who were believed to have imbibed in this “wonder drug” were, most notably, Queen Victoria who ordered the stuff from the royal apothecary at Balmoral in Scotland and she is understood to have enjoyed a touch of opium gum with a very young Winston Churchill (later to become Prime Minister).

A Young Winston Churchill

And apparently Prime Minister William Gladstone took opium in his tea or coffee before he “took to the stage” when making speeches. No wonder our British Empire turned to dust!!

In 1868 the Pharmacy Act was passed which restricted the use of opiates but, like so many Acts passed by the government over the years, it really wasn’t very effective. It stated that any opium user had to provide a name, address and other personal details to the chemist before the drug could be handed over at the counter.

Limehouse, London (early 20th century)

Being an avid fan of Victorian history, it had, I suspect due to period dramas and Victorian based novels, been my belief that hundreds of bored aristocrats who had nothing better to do would lurk amongst the unruly and unwashed members of society in the east end of London doped up to their eyeballs on opiates or contracting sexually transmitted diseases from the vice dens, particularly those in Limehouse where the Chinese sailors settled but, according to recent research, there’s no real evidence that this was the case. Thinking on it, I’m now considering that some aristocrats could undoubtedly be found there but feel it more likely that these “jolly good chaps” would prefer to mix with their own classes and imbibe in a gallon or two of good wine and have a flutter at the gaming tables, then stumble back to their gentlemen’s clubs to crash out in comfort and be waited on hand and foot following a “binge and a flutter” night.

Oscar Wilde

The belief that the upper crust of our British society spent hours in opium dens was further enhanced in Oscar Wilde’s “The Picture of Dorian Gray” where he referred to the fact that you could “buy oblivion” and “horrors and memory of old sins could be destroyed by the madness of sins that were new”. However, around that time, the intake of opium which was considered a drug of misery was fast becoming old fashioned in favour of the more uplifting cocaine and of course, the most famous fictional character who took cocaine to lift his spirits was none other than Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes who injected it to lift him from depression.

Arthur Conan Doyle

It also became particularly popular with the more Bohemian members of our society – those arty farty intelligentsia and often highly strung artistic people who maintained it was vital to open up their minds when they needed a spot of artistic stimulation.

Fortunately the US didn’t perceive cocaine as a vital artistic stimulant and were more concerned with the association there with street gangs and, ultimately, with the usual (and still prevalent!) propaganda that this drug sent “black men insane” and thereby put poor defenceless little white women at risk. This obviously had a knock on effect to drive the US to sign up to the 1912 Act.

Post 1912

Although the Act undoubtedly reduced the importation of drugs it didn’t stop individual users and when the Great War (World War I) broke out in 1914, opium and cocaine were still legal drugs in Great Britain. During the second year of the war there was concern over the general intake of alcohol in the front-line ranks which it was considered may have a significant detrimental effect on the progress of the war so, in 1915 stricter licensing laws were passed which led to a hive of underground “vice dens” particularly in the more theatrical area of London, through which so many of our gallant troops travelled before being shipped overseas. Some of our gallant troops it seems were not particularly “gallant” however, and on passing through London headed to the brothels or made good use of the prostitutes within this area and this was a criminal offence. With the new strict drink licensing laws it soon became apparent that brothels were selling sex alongside the still readily available opium and cocaine. The government therefore brought in emergency legislation to restrict the use of drugs.

Towards the end of the war in 1918 journalists were keen to find another outlet for “shock factor” articles and began delving more into the seedy side of drug taking, most notably amongst theatrical celebrities. One of the most famous scandals was based around the death of popular actress Billie Carleton.

Billie Carleton

Billie had attended an opium party the night before her death in 1918 and the inquest revealed that she had died from an overdose of cocaine. Her friend, one Reginald de Veulle was subsequently charged with manslaughter and conspiracy to supply a prohibited drug. He had bought the drug from a woman called Ada and her Chinese husband Lau Ping You in Limehouse, London. However, de Veulle was acquitted of the manslaughter charge but was found guilty of supplying Billie with the cocaine and for this crime he received an eight month prison sentence. Ada was sentenced to five months hard labour and her husband was fined £10.

Eventually, in 1920, the emergency action which had been put into place during the war, was made permanent in the Dangerous Drugs Act of 1920.

Freda Kempton

Another case which caught the public’s attention in the media was that of Freda Kempton, a young dancer, who was found dead after taking an overdose of cocaine in 1922. The journalists, who it seemed were targeting the Chinese community in connection with any drug death incidents, had a field day with this case as it involved a “poor young woman” who had obviously been seduced by a Chinaman, an entrepreneur known as Billy “Brilliant” Chang.

Billy “Brilliant” Chang

Freda had been with Mr Chang on the night she died. Needless to say, this did nothing to aid inter-racial harmony and it became apparent that the Chinese community as a whole would come under fire from the “native” British people who now considered that every Chinese man was out to ensnare innocent white women with his charismatic manners and force them to use drugs.

However, following the Kempton case this panic amongst the British that cocaine was having a considerable effect on our innocent little women, the fire dwindled and was soon extinguished although drugs were known to be dealt in Limehouse and in the “red light district” of Soho and, once the drug laws came in banning the use of cocaine and opium, the problem was so insignificant it was easily dealt with by the police.

The real drug problem began after World War II during the “baby boom” period which saw the rise of rebellious teenagers throughout the 1950s and 1960s. These young people, due to the more modern and speedier transport links, were able to travel further afield and those who were getting into drugs at the time travelled to Morocco to smoke hash or find areas where they could get hold of amphetamines.

It was at this time the police found they were beginning to have problems containing the importation and taking of drugs and their efforts weren’t helped by various powerful international cartels.

And as we all know, this problem is still rife today – it seems the governments and law enforcement agencies are fighting an ever losing battle to get this deadly crime under control and I suspect that despite their increased efforts to stamp out illegal drugs, sadly there’ll always be a criminal out there who can find a way of outwitting them.

Some drug takers seem to behave badly to non-drug takers.

POPPERS AND ALKYL NITRITES THE DRUG CHOICE OF THE AMATUER

I do not take drugs, apart from Alcohol. I don’t (and never did) smoke cigarettes, let alone Marijuana. That is not to say that I am an anti-drug – far from it. I think the very prohibition and ban fuels drug trafficking as Prohibition swept illegal alcohol sales in 1920’s Chicago.

I generally have no issues with people skinning up joints round me. In my1980’s student days no one made a big deal out of what they smoked and inhaled. I was tempted to try LSD but I never had the nerve to dare, being too fearful of a bad acid trip.

What impressed me was how matter of fact everyone was about what they took. Recently, however I saw the very opposite when invited to post-cabaret drinks with a few other attendees. They were eager for us to head to a particular bar, basically because they could openly buy their Poppers there and take them on the premises.

I’ve seen Poppers in action before, and like other drugs, they were usually taken discreetly and without much fuss. Few dared take drugs too openly for fear of arrest or public condemnation, but here, the usage was very open and direct. The users revered the poppers and made a big deal of taking them, and more importantly being seen taking them. Initial reactions to the vapour effects seemed contrived – the takers seemed too deliberately giddy and silly. One chap started inviting me to join in. I politely declined, initially appreciating the invitation / offer. After a few minutes he offered me the plastic bottle again, and then again. He seemed amused by my square indifference to taking the drug. The very offer was being made knowing my rejection of the phial was helping the taker to feel smugly superior to me. After about the tenth time the bottle was stuck under my nose I took it, giving the impression that I was giving in to temptation. Instead, I angrily, impatiently threw the sealed bottle across a vacant area of dance floor to bounce off a distant wall. Astonishingly it didn’t break. My would be dealer was mortified and crawled after his stash. He returned to our table and sat silent, pale, shell-shocked and trembling. Another friend advised him that no means no. I left him semi-catatonic and went home.

What alarmed me was not only the rampant ‘look at me. I’m taking a drug. Ain’t I cool?’ attitude, but also how open the poopers were in distribution and use. I discovered that though still illegal as a stimulant, Alkyl Nitrates could be sold legally as nail polish removers, deodorant sprays and cassette cleaning equipment. The drug is sold as these items in clubs and bars where it is freely them ingested as the one thing it is officially and legally not – a high inducing stimulant. The euphoria induced by Poppers has a certain sexual potency too, and Poppers are a poor man’s substitute for Viagra.

I have no problem with Poppers, but with the immaturity of some of its users – and their need to make such a song and dance out of it. Real drug takers just do it, and don’t look down their noses at those who are happy not to join in.

Should Drugs all be legalized?

I want to make it clear that in my view, regardless of their [pharmacological] danger, all drugs should be ‘legalized’ (a misleading term I employ reluctantly as a concession to common usage). Although I recognize that some drugs… may have undesirable or dangerous consequences, I favor free trade in drugs for the same reason the Founding Fathers favored free trade in ideas. In an open society, it is none of the governments business what idea a man puts into his mind; likewise it should be none of the governments business what drug he puts into his body. (Szasz 2)

This philosophy is expressed by Dr. Thomas S. Szasz, M.D. in his Harper’s Bazaar essay, The Ethics of Addiction. Dr. Szasz has a concrete point in that we are constitutionally entitled to consume whatever substance we want. However, for the sake of counterargument, I will exclude this obvious and what should be well known condition, and I will instead focus on explaining how a drug policy reform would benefit society as a whole in terms of reducing the subsequent affliction of inevitable drug use by its members.

Every American is in one way or another is negatively affected by our drug policies and the predicament they impose, not just in the fiscal sense regarding billions of wasted tax dollars but also ethically in a way that is invisible to many. There is no better example of this than myself; I am writing this argument not just as a young American but also as a model of addiction as I have overcome countless perils presented by drug abuse. I would never do drugs. I didn’t really know why, but I thought that all illegal drugs were bad- I didn’t know even in the slightest way how. Nevertheless, as I got older I realized, as many of my peers did, that these drugs were everywhere and nowhere at the same time. My freshman year here at West Virginia University I developed a crack cocaine addiction that I did not understand- it was a foreign and strange animal that I struggled with for years until my perspective cleared on the drive behind addiction; and I was able to overcome the dependence with closure and wisdom that can only come from a complete and objective understanding of substance use and addiction. This logic should not be an addict’s secret- it should be our national policy. We, as Americans need to demand a massive drug policy reform that truly addresses the issues of drugs with strong ethical objectives because to simply prohibit these substances is obviously not an effective technique to reduce their societal harm.

The prohibition of any popular substance is counter- productive, we have created a massive black market; which is responsible for countless deaths every year, the stimulation of crime, and the exportation of billions of U. S. dollars annually. The horrendous crimes that these drug cartels generate, both in our country and internationally, make up the majority of all criminal activity. There would be many societal benefits if these black markets were eradicated, “The time that is devoted to fighting drug crime is great, imagine what the police could do with that time if the crime rates would reduce” (Reed 1). Many associated gangs or cartels that receive much of our money are also participating in human trafficking- and are holding many drug-producing countries hostage such as Peru, Mexico, and much of Columbia. These counties are underdeveloped, and maintained in poverty despite the fortunes that are being made by the lucrative business of drug production and its distribution, by these criminals are able to hold countries hostage because of the demand for supply of a substance that is not legally attainable in most countries. The moguls have formed large drug monopolies that operate like major corporations, which do business under the radar of all governments and have proven their power time and time again. The organized black market that imports and distributes the mainstream supply of drugs relies on our prohibition drug policy that created the vacuum for them to thrive in. This international network of people would be unable to hold any power if drugs could be distributed domestically and their plight would witness the largest reduction in street crime of all time as most inner city gangs and criminal entities are empowered by their drug trade which would because obsolete.

There is a direct relationship between drug prices and the consequence of getting caught importing or distributing, when it is harder to get the drugs into the country (strict drug policy). The more illicit the substance is made will drive even street prices up. It follows that drugs have become very expensive and for most people, their drug addiction is a problem that concerns itself more with money that the personal damage that the substance can bring to the user. It simply makes sense that “lower prices for drugs would preclude the need for criminal activity to raise money for their purchase” (Drug Addiction 1). The black market has cocaine and heroin priced well over eighty percent of the production cost, this is a huge markup that makes drugs very unaffordable to many, although that’s not going to stop them from using, especially the addicts who are faced with an extremely unaffordable habit. If any addict could afford to dose with the change they could find in the street there would be no need for money-seeking crimes which make up a very large portion of our criminal nuisance. Severe addicts simply would not need to steal and this alone would make a huge change in the safety of our streets. The pricing of drugs does not affect people’s decision to do them, however it is responsible for most thefts and other money- seeking crimes. Dr. Szasz emphasizes the importance of this reality, “If there were an abundant and inexpensive supply of what the ‘addict’ wants, there would be no reason for him to ‘any means [possible]’ to obtain it.” (Szasz 1).

The War on drugs is simply a tax paying job generator that has become a joke to me, and the rest of Generation Y. It is a failed attempt at drug control that has shown no affect on the people’s decision to use or to not use drugs. The campaign influences people to believe that a drug is either an illegal substance or a treatment prescribed by a doctor, there has long been dogma surrounding the subject of drugs but we should not forget that caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol are all drugs. A drug is any substance, introduced to the body, which alters the natural function. This definition is made obsolete by our government’s attempts at drug prevention, and ignorance to the true affect and properties of a drug is the cost of this propaganda. It is very important, in a world where drugs are ever-present, for our youth to understand what they really are. Children should be discouraged to use any substance be it caffeine, alcohol, or marijuana, by providing them with a factual and realistic definition that will arm them with the education necessary because when it comes down to it; to use or to not use is a personal decision.

If we could regulate the production of drugs we could also reduce them to their basic organic substances, which in many cases are less toxic and habit forming than the agents used to increase the weight or “cut” down the organic drug (more mass=more money). This would also no doubt have an effect on the amount of drug related deaths, “Some contend also that with government regulation dosages would be standardized and dangerous contaminants eliminated, making drugs safer” (Drug Addiction 1). If I don’t have you on this point, you probably do not know that cocaine is often mixed with baby laxative or any numerous such agents and then sprayed with gasoline, or another fuel, to increase energy better simulating the organic cocoa substance from which the drug originally comes. The gasoline is far more toxic to humans than the plant oils, which are “pure” organic substances like tobacco or marijuana. I was taught that drugs were made in laboratories from household chemicals, and I suppose it is necessary to say that I am excluding methamphetamine and ketamine from this paper entirely as these substances are far too inorganic, however most drugs could be entirely organic if the trade were commercialized.

These are just a few of the numerous issues that could be reduced or resolved by the revision of our drug policy. I think that the kind of reform we need should be a gradual procedure spanning at least two generations that would begin by legalizing marijuana and, after many years and much observation, move forth to legalize the personal possession and private consumption of any substance as we are entitled by our constitution. I also believe that we need to decriminalize the charges associated with the distribution of drugs. This is the only true and practical way to do away with the criminal black markets, which are now the only source for many substances. The cost of our current drug policy is really incalculable, although, “The federal government budgeted $17.9 billion on drug control in 1999 for interdiction, prosecution, international law enforcement, prisons, treatment, prevention, and related items” (Drug Addiction 1). Our tax funded prisons are full of people whom the government criminalizes for petty possession charges and every year millions upon millions are spent on programs that have shown no affect on the statistics of illegal drug use or on the amount of drug- related crime since their conception. Our current policy benefits only those whose pockets are filled by the revenue generated, and is not preventing drug use or educating our youth. The policy needs to reflect the societal setback of what are now illegal drugs, and relate the danger to that of all other harmful substances “The harm from fatty foods and cigarettes is acknowledged to be one of the most expensive externalities. It is clear that not all externalities are criminalized. What is not clear is the threshold one has to meet in relation to the setback of the collective welfare to be criminalized” (McCaffrey 1).

If our government would, instead of prohibiting drugs, regulate the production and distributions of them (and do away with possession charges) we, as a society would see a safer and more responsible country. It is time to come to terms with the fact that to take drugs or not is a personal decision- legal or not- those who want to use will use. Plainly speaking we have two choices, to criminalize the use and sale which will only make the drugs inaccessible by price (which does not deter use), or to force the responsibility on the individual by making them as accessible as alcohol. To do this would reduce drug addiction to the scale of alcoholism- and this would over time, allow people to see what substance abuse is in a logical light.

I’m always looking around for new info on wildlife and the environment and came across this incredible tale!

Male and Female Fruit Flies

A study has been taking place at the University of California, in San Francisco, into the secret life of the fruit fly and it seems that male fruit flies who are rejected by females drink more alcohol than those who find a willing sex partner!

The research has shown that this binge drinking is probably due to a chemical which is replicated in the human brain. The chemical neuropeptide Y in humans seems to be extremely similar to neuropeptide F which can be found in the fruit fly.

Th chemical appears to go into overdrive when a sex driven human (or fly!) is rejected and it basically tells the brain to settle for an over indulgence of alcohol to compensate for lack of sex.

So how did the University of California go about this research?

A number of male fruit flies were taken and placed in a box with several virgin females who succumbed to the males chat up lines and salacious sexual appetites. In a separate box, male flies were placed with the slutty, recently satiated girls who’d obviously had their fill and decided to give the males the brush off.

Following this, the males were then given two choices of food – their normal fare or normal fare laced with 15% alcohol. The males who’d recently mated with the virgin flies went for their normal food, whereas the majority of those who’d been deprived of a bit of nooky headed straight for the wine bar and went on a bit of a bender! It’s thought that this works on the basis that if you can’t have the reward you were expecting (in this case sex) then you compensate by going for the next best thing (i.e. alcohol).

Following this revelation, the scientists decided to look for a connection between the sex deprivation and hitting the bottle and came across the neuropeptide F theory.

According to tests carried out on the flies, the rejected males had a lower level of this chemical than those who’d ended the night making whoopee so those poor saps had hit the bottle to compensate. In fact, the mated flies actually had an elevated level of the chemical.

This research has basically come up with the suggestion that rejected males whether they be insect or mammal, often turn to the bottle when they’re rejected by the women in their lives.

At the moment, nobody is willing to put their head on the block to confirm definitely that this is how the land lies but scientists are now hoping that the research, if it progresses still further, might just aid them in the treatment of alcohol and drug abuse.

I am just wondering if this research might be relevant to a discovery several years back that reckoned women who lived on their own and didn’t have husbands or boyfriends to satisfy their sexual needs were relatively happy to settle in front of the TV of an evening with a big bar of chocolate!

There's always a day after and this is how I tried to handle mine. Bartenders in general have big mouths.

After I put the puzzling pieces of my scary night together, I phoned *Tara to tell her what happened. She was shocked (supposedly) and couldn’t imagine those guys doing something like that. Uh-huh. Well guess what, toots? They did!

My big plan was to act like nothing happened. I would go up to them next time they came in and tell them how much fun it was and how they had “really got me good,” blah, blah, blah, and get them to confess. And then call the cops.

As a side point here, I think you should know that I could care less what people do. You want to ruin your life abusing drugs? Go right ahead. I also think the money we spend on the “war” on drugs could be better spent on education to PREVENT use in the first place or on rehab programs for the destitute. So their drug selling/using wasn’t my issue at all. But when you spike my drink? You’re going down! I could have died. It happens.

Anyway, mistake number two: Telling the fellow bartender what your plan is and then expecting her to keep her big mouth shut. Even when you ask her to please keep quiet. Especially when she uses drugs too.

Next time I saw her at work, I asked if she’d seen the two culprits. She had. She had also taken it upon herself (after I asked her not to) to ask them if they had spiked my drink (they had) and they said no (cause she told them I’d call the cops) so she was “convinced” it was someone else. Like they would confess. Was she serious?

Birds of a feather and all that, what did I expect? Needless to say, I never did see those two guys ever again. No doubt after talking to Tara they figured it was safer to stay clear of me. I did explain to my concerned customers what had happened and they reassured me that they “knew something wasn’t right” because they’d never seen me like that—even after a half dozen shots of tequila.

As for Tara and her big mouth—I let that go. She was a blast to work with. We got along great and a good bartender is hard to find so I didn’t want to press the issue. We lost touch many years ago. I really hope she’s okay. I honestly doubt she is though.

Lesson learned.

This Time It Doesn't Involve Drugs.

Charlie Sheen is always winning. He is doing drugs and winning. How wonderful for him.

Recently Charlie Sheen has struck again. He took his metaphorical knife out of his metaphorical pocket and slashed at his former master and boss at a show about men. How many men? Roughly three.

Charlie Sheen will strike and strike again and again and again. He will never stop striking. Even in death Charlie Sheen will find a way to strike over and over again. And he isn’t even dead yet, despite pictures showing up on the internet of him in a coffin.

So good for you Mr. Charlie Sheen.

You have style and grace. You have the face of a winner. Your fingers have been in all kinds of places that most of us can only dream about. Some of those places were edible. Some were not.

Were cakes involved? Probably. Drugs? No one knows.

Keep on winning, Mr. Charlie Sheen. We are counting on you to do just that!
