This Earth Hour is a quaint idea, with a truly humanitarian bent. Who could possibly find fault with a program that is attempting to help purify our planet? But the question remains: does Earth Hour achieve its purpose?

With much of the news lately covering Global Warming related topics, it is finally hitting home and we are hearing about governments throughout the world beginning to change some of their energy policies. We are all becoming aware that the world is beginning to reach the end of most of the oil supply sources.

Global warming seems by some to be only a passing phenomenon. To others, it’s a well established fact.

Extra heat being produced while we were trying to keep the house cool during the hot summer months, or its long overdue need for change.

For those of us with children, "don’t forget to turn out the lights" is a normal echo heard daily throughout the home almost like a broken record. For most of us here in the U.S., it is our way of reminding our children that energy today costs money, maybe a little too much.
