This is an essay that was assigned from my English teacher. It is about how a child develops and what you should give a child for a gift, for development.

An offspring from the age of ten and below is where the brain is at its peak. The brain of a child is like a sponge it gathers all the information of their surroundings and is always caution. At this stage a parent or relative would want to do all the best things in order to help their children to evolve in the best and safest environmental and social class. As far as I’m concerned the best gift to present to a child an advanced toy or an electronic, such as a computer. A computer plays a crucial role in our lives and it also provides us with many benefits. Our life is becoming more and more advance each day, and the computer’s usage is increasing. This is where the role of computer comes in, it opens the mind of children and lets them explore and surf all around the internet and fill their minds with precious information and data which can be useful for their future.

First of all a computer can be useful by using the internet. The internet can teach children and give more information about anything they are not sure of. They could also make new friends from all around the world which could help them by improving their communication skills, gain knowledge, and experience about things they would never learn in their everyday life. A computer also contains games which can be also handy to increase logical thinking. These games could also develop important qualities such as attention, patience, persistent, etc. The most important benefit that computer skills provide is a career. These days most of paperwork, experiments, information, pictures, etc., are all located and done in a computer. Last of all a computer can also be used to finish school assignments and homework faster and more precise which would lead to higher grades and more credit.

The year that I received my 10th birthday gift changed me a lot. My birthday was just around the corner and a present was already in mind, a computer. I never left my computer from the first day it was installed. I began to play every day and discover new things on the internet. At the age of 13 I knew how to hack into other computers and even create a game/program. Then I learned how to dismantle a computer and its components and then assemble it back. My mind became very knowledgeable, quick, and full of ideas. I am now able to write one thousand words in fifteen minutes which would help me a lot by finding a fair paying job. Ever since, my grades went a little higher and all my homework became less complicated.

The computer is not only helpful and full of helpful information it is also fun and contains games which lets kids not become bored and sick of it. In addition, computers will not only benefit a kid’s life but it will also simplify it.

Image via Wikipedia

The phrase “higher education” is a simple title to a community that involves a plethora of subjects, years of history, and is the epitome of an intellectual life. World renowned universities revolve around some kind of center of knowledge, in many cases a library. But the development of research and how we do research has evolved many places like a library, and its purpose. At the University of Southern California one of the most prominent buildings that erects from the center court yard is the Doheny Memorial Library. It is a center of knowledge for the intellectually savvy, and a getaway for the avid reader. Doheny Library and its Romanesque atmosphere is an inspiring sight, but as the years have progressed, since its inauguration in 1932, it has since turned from a place of study to a commemorative monument. While Doheny Library has served as a second home to intellectuals, over the years it has transformed into a memorialization of archaic learning mannerisms and values; this is because of its acute detail to traditional collegiate design and its competition with other modern systems that provide knowledge.

The history of Doheny Library comes from an unexpected incident which gave birth to one of the most prominent establishments of knowledge in its decade. Edward L. Doheny Jr. was a USC graduate and later elected to the Board of Trustees and President of the Alumni Association. Needless to say, Edward L. (Ned) Doheny Jr. had roots that ran deep in the university. Early in his life tragedy struck, when he was assassinated in his Beverly Hills home in February of 1929. (University of Southern California)The death of Edward L. Doheny Jr. did not go unrecognized by the Dohenys. After losing his son’s mother to suicide, the Dohenys decided that their son’s name was to be remembered in a fashion that no one could match. Edward L. Doheny Sr. tied his son’s name to one of the most admired libraries in the history of the “Great Depression”. A contribution of one-million dollars was made to the University of Southern California for the construction of such a facility. The Dohenys saw to it that the Edward L. Doheny Jr. Memorial Library became a landmark building in Southern California as one of the most advanced libraries ever built.

From tragedy and death one of the most beautiful sights was born in the Los Angeles area. A place with a wealth of knowledge and advanced systems of its time was shining light to new scholars and aiding the experienced to new discoveries. During its construction the amount of detail that was put into making the superficial attributes of the library resembled the activities taking place within its walls. With its Italian Romanesque architecture, ornate windows, elegant chandeliers, arches, and high ceilings, the library evoked passion in the arts, literature, and sciences. This facility bears its resemblance with cathedral design only to venerate the practice of many forms of study. From its dedication on September 12th, 1930, Doheny Library epitomized the meaning of research. All of the pupils of the university were quick to embrace the abundant study halls of its interiors.

Although the two hundred and seventy foot tall building remained standing against the adversity of the crisis of “The Great Depression”, it was able to empower young minds to develop themselves as knowledgeable individuals. Doheny Library might have served its purpose back in the day, but in its present state it is near impossible to tell what the purpose of the building is. The practice of truth seeking is a never ending process, yet Doheny closes after hours. Unintentionally, Doheny carries the resemblance of many cathedrals, but also the intendance. Visiting Doheny during its hours of operation is like walking in to a cathedral in the middle of the day; only a sparing few kneeling and praying, or in this case sitting and studying. If one were to have the curiosity of exploring Doheny past ten at night, one would find itself staring up at a large heavy door, which looms over you as if it were protecting precious information within its walls. Accessibility is not a prevailing theme of Doheny Memorial Library.

USC’s first freestanding library still stands for the prestige of higher education, but it does not embody the same type of atmosphere that its interiors provided many years ago. As the years have progressed Doheny Library has turned into a building that serves more as a memorial. As time has progressed an anomaly has occurred within the walls of Doheny. This anomaly is solitude. Its detachment from the academic discourse community has been an ignored occurrence. There is no immediate explanation as to why this has happened, but we can be sure that a revolutionary idea is in our presence. As technology has advanced we have relied less and less in places such as Doheny. Gradually, Doheny has left the paradigm of libraries, as places that serve as primary sources of information, to a paradigm of a memorial, which revolves around the preservation of values.

The thought of Doheny Library as part of a paradigm of a memorial involves concepts which have nothing to do with its role as a library. Needless to say, there is and always will be individuals who hold up Doheny as their main source of information. The role that Doheny plays in today’s world is much more fitting to a paradigm of a memorial. A memorial has a concept of preservation and its purpose isn’t teaching, its acknowledgement. Doheny now harbors and protects main USC values, namely The Role and Mission of the University of Southern California. Specifically, Doheny Library now embodies this quote from the first paragraph of the mission statement, “The development of human beings and society as a whole through the cultivation and enrichment of the human mind and spirit.” It symbolizes this creed by the aforementioned descriptions of Doheny’s visual components. These visual components are what inform new comers about USC’s determination for excellence in higher education.

Places such as The Coliseum and Von Kleinsmid Center Library for International and Public Affairs also serve as good examples that work in harmony, along with Doheny, in the paradigm of memorialization. The Coliseum as any true Trojan would know is a place where excellence in athletics is celebrated. Along with that, the Von Kleinsmid Center and its tower, with a globe hovering over us, serves as memorial to how diverse USC is and how we all come together as one academic community.

Doheny’s paradigm shift reflects a worldly view of higher education today. It is important to note that the definition of higher education and its practices have evolved with time. With this said, Doheny Library and its shift in paradigms functions as a standing metaphor for the transformation of higher education today. With the development of new technologies and studies, higher education is not even remotely similar to what its counterpart was 18 decades ago. In terms of a paradigm, the tools that we use have changed over time, and the questions we ask have changed over time. Doheny which used to serve as a tool back in the day has transformed into a relic which admires the olden days but keeps alive its values. It is no longer a prominent tool. Doheny‘s transformation as a metaphor provides a good understanding of what higher education entails in today’s society. Not only is higher education evolving as the days go by, but also the tools that we use in order to attain knowledge also evolve. If Doheny library could magically evolve as higher education evolves it would look a lot like Leavey Library. When juxtaposing the two libraries, both give off different vibes of what they are trying to accomplish. Leavey library is not lavish and ominous as Doheny is; rather it represents the cutting edge society that we are stumbling into day by day. The rooms are filled with all sorts of technology, internet access, and cubicles that provide privacy. The ceilings are not high and the interior of the building bleeds modernization. Both libraries are mirror images of each other. The only difference is that Doheny library is stuck on the past side of the mirror, and Leavey is on the present side of the mirror.

Higher education has evolved with the development of numerous technological advances, and studies; Doheny Library serves as a reminder of the values that don’t change in higher education. The transformation into a paradigm of memorialization reflects the detachment of higher education from materialistic means (books, encyclopedias, articles). Doheny Memorial Library serves as a reminder of the traditional importance of education by its preservation of timeless beauty in the physical features of Doheny Library that instill awe.

Brief survey of those forces I observe competing the human soul.

I observe a world that spins wildly around me everyday. This, alone, is a philosophical problem, as the ability to define, succinctly, the ideas implied through the act of life, and living, is a near impossibility. I cannot demonize an entire technological/informational revolution, merely because it may play a necessary role in the diminishing intellectual value of our youth.

One’s personal history plays as critical an aspect. An individual who lives in a home with familial expectations of scholastic achievement, then the power of the media is substantially diminished, proportionally reduced to the enhanced social value of books, teachers and parents. The hope, of course, is that likeminded individuals will, in theory, temper the negative potential that constantly tempts us.

Much like learning how to eat a good diet when the temptation of fast food dominates the dietary landscape, learning how to properly consume and process media influences is a part of individual self-actualization. For this reason, I cannot make the illogical assumption that, if my students stopped watching MTV, they would suddenly become Rhodes Scholars.

The ability of mass media to function as a conditioning and propaganda machine is well documented. It is the perfect formula by which emotive politics like “ultra liberal” and “ultra conservative” activists defend the corrupt actions that are driven by a consumer society of media whores.

The sad truth of the matter is that the knowledge gap between many young people I have met about critical political and social forces is filled with other information that shapes their worldview. In the case of my students, the intellectual paralyzing obsession with self-satisfaction derived by ego driven quests for pleasuring the senses, yet with no regard for the long term consequences of one’s actions on society as a whole. No, they prefer individualism that serves the ego, with a disdain for the hopes of the collective betterment. Note: disdain not indifference.

The reality of this phenomenon is lost on many people, as they don’t spend 60 hours a week locked in a room with a generation of youngsters reared exclusively by mass media. This current generation of high school students grew up without the need to earn anything. The remainder of this generation, on the other hand, will spend their lives in a post-modern, economic wasteland, with exorbitant costs and miniscule wages.

Instead of creating a society that encouraged self-accountability, we used the residual arguments from the civil rights, women’s rights and labor rights movements to buoy a social welfare state impossible to maintain. It is not often that a show like the Real World, or Survivor, asks its audience to consider complex questions about the mechanisms driving our society. Instead, the most ubiquitous situation to arise on many of these television shows and intent events is the exploration of people’s sexual proclivities. And who can blame young people, really?

Is it realistic to expect them to grasp the idea this system is robbing them of an equitable return on the taxes they pay for schools, roads and clean water? Do they even care? There is no shame in a youth spent aloof by a frenzied state of sexual fantasy, or the acquisition of material goods that might help these fantasies comes to fruition. Even more distasteful is the selfish, heartless and violent society we witness everyday, which will continue to decay if we don’t stop and take a hard look at the problems we face, the way we got here, and the steps we might take to change course.

As a society, we certainly don’t lack theories regarding the demise of our civilization. Unlike older boomers, youth tend to be honest and unmoved by the conventions that dominated the cultural landscape for so long. The society we live in today is fundamentally different than the one that defined America in 1956. By comparing them at face value, we cannot hope to achieve the desired results. If we were considering something like health care costs, or the changing of neighborhood dynamics because of immigration, the historical context would serve a much greater purpose. In exploring the death of communal ideals, however, the historical evidence is corollary to the society that exists today only. Unless you are confident what it may look like, or might have.

Thus, the historical examination of human behavior, over time, is better suited for singular events that are cause and effect based. It is unarguable that individual restraint, and our innate Darwinian inclination to protect our Kin and ourselves before we do others, is a model of human behavior that predisposes communities for order and systems; for the collective vision that communities share with one another is buoyed via governmental bodies that derive their power through the collective action of individual actions.

This point is lost on many people, because the system in power has successfully stripped this country’s people of most of their self-empowerment. So much so, that the ideal political vision most Americans have, is one that the system itself guided to fruition, and that is a dismissal of political subtlety that is truly the responsibility of the individual citizen on the local level, and not the implied role of the government, and its phony claims of collective sensibilities.

On the other hand, to be truly understood, as many people claim to, through an appreciation of hormonal impulses. And even though environmental factors do, slightly, alter the chemical composition within a person’s body across time, these are minimal changes; as human physiology is fundamentally unchanged over time. Most assuredly, a deterioration of the core psychological systems that brought our race to this point in history is in a state of decline after the onslaught of modern civilization began to clash with our atavistic nature. This is partly a result of weapons technology and mass transportation, but it is more a result of a society turned on its head in order to undermine the positive evolutionary steps that one expects people to make within the paradigm of a healthy society.

It is not sensible to dismiss sociological events like youth violence and apathy simply by applying singular logic about hormones as an explanation. It simply isn’t possible to make claims that apply blame to a simple, biologically determined, phenomenon, when the entire history of American civilization is bearing down on us in the form of an often violently minded youth culture and nearly always apathetic one.

Equally true, the violence within society is not a singularly poor person’s burden. What is different on account of wealth disparity is not the inclination towards anti-social behavior between rich people and poor ones, but in the ability to insulate the impact of these behaviors through the purchase of higher moral standards, legal defense, neighborhood safety and home security. If the individuals who do impose these negative elements on a community are absolved simply on account of their circumstances, the consequence is to create a disparity of enforcement against another group. Equal protection must always mean equal protection; and the Darwinian code demands it from any civilization that hopes to create maximum equity.

Ironically, since the government’s intent to be “the people,” is a strange paradox that results in a more selfish society from the context of a government that, effectively, strips people of their true nature, in order to create a system of good consumers. When I say true nature, I mean the actions undertaken in a system ruled by natural law where the individual might be tinkered with in any manner. What the government does isn’t a statement of altruism, but cunning business sense. Of course this brings up the chicken and egg argument so to what came first the greedy or the exploitation to create the state of greed to flourish?

As much as our current system holds to the notion that a nanny society knows best, it would serve all of us well to keep close to our hearts the words of some great man who once said that we must live the change that we want for the world. And this notion most certainly implies that we should keep our innate moral code close to heart in all of our actions. I believe that if we answer this question, all the other solutions will fall into place.

One of the most critical aspects is that of family life eroding at an exponential rate; accelerated by a cost of living index that far outpaces income growth, and requiring both family members to work longer hours and sacrifice time with their children. This comes with a great cost; for this destroys the ancient-and critical-family structure that socializes our children.

Consequently, I contend that the lack of family destroys the mechanisms that ensure our children will develop altruism and empathy. I often spent countless hours at home alone after school, and frequently fantasized about having a nuclear family. As humans we are a verbal people, who, by involuntary impulse, can’t help but to articulate the ongoing narrative of our lives to anybody willing to listen. To see just how far we have fallen, we need only open a history book to read how entire civilizations were built on the strength of oral histories, and how information shared in books was the first form of mass communication; a phenomenon that hastened the flow of information between cultures, and thus between individuals.

Communication, of any medium is the building block of empathy; hence it is the building block for peace. It carried the weight of entire civilizations, in words: over sea and land. It carried as much good as bad, empowered victims, as much as it validated the power structure. These written words were great, because they reflected the ideas that were flowing through the minds of the individuals who wrote them; medicine, art, ideas on government, etc… As such, with our ability-or perhaps-willingness growing to see power in the words that we use, to the extent that we strive to master a rapidly dying art form, we are more likely to strengthen the resolve of forces that benefit from a civilization of people who cannot call the power structure to task for their transgressions.

For example, there is a big difference between people from fast paced urban landscapes, and people who grow up in rural area that are insulated from the influences of mass media. I learned about this because I know many people who grew up in rural Maine and rural Mexico. These people are from completely different regions and hold different worldviews, but are very similar in respect to their awareness of nature and our diminutive stature within the historical drama of humanity’s evolution. I call this native intelligence, as it is the core intelligence all people are born with, but which often gets corrupted for many different reasons.

The belief that we can change anything so vast is as absurd as the notion of empire building; which has been the geopolitical driving force of civilization for a few thousands years, and failing miserably. In my estimation, any measurable manifestation of a human presence on this earth happened on account of the natural progression of human evolution.

In most cases any other forms serve only to make victims of innocent people and martyrs out of murderers. Injustice will inevitably be undone by natural forces; and at a rate commensurate to the growth of a stronger sense of individual empowerment. Honestly, what kind of society do we have without the notion of individual restraint? Theoretically, democratic ideals would ensure that all people have equal representation, but time has proven that assumption false. In this respect it is clear we are not fighting the institutional philosophy of any state sponsored political values, but the human nature driving them at their core.

By reading about the content of the human mind based on Jung’s discoveries and on my discoveries, you will understand how the human mind works. You’ll see that a huge part of your brain belongs to the wild side of your conscience, the anti-conscience. This vision will help you understand why you act in an absurd way many times, or why you were absurd in the past.

On the other hand, you’ll see that the human side of your conscience is not as sensible as you may believe. This happens because your human conscience is under-developed and one-sided. You have to develop your intelligence in order to use your entire conscience.

You will have a better grasp of the study of the human mind if you learn how to translate the meaning of your dreams, instead of having only a theoretical vision, by reading my conclusions. Your dreams give you many lessons about what determines your behavior. Your entire personality is analyzed through dream messages.

You won’t study the human mind by having a static vision of its content. You’ll see that the human mind is an entire world. Then, you’ll discover to your surprise that you are in fact a genius who never had the chance to shine. You have to eliminate your violent wild side, so that your wise, human side, may triumph. This is how you’ll acquire mind power. This means that you’ll be able to transform your reality and influence other people. It also means that you’ll learn how to be always calm and balanced. You’ll never become angry for any reason because you’ll understand why other people make mistakes.

You don’t become angry when you are able to understand why a certain problem was provoked. For example, when you see a child making a mistake, you understand that a child didn’t learn how to do many things yet. You don’t become angry because he or she broke a vase in an attempt to catch a ball that fall there. Of course, he was not supposed to be playing with this ball in the living room. However, you know that children are not obedient creatures that do what we tell them to. Thus, you show understanding.

The same way, when you know that someone else made a mistake for being controlled by his or her absurd anti-conscience, you feel sorry for him or her instead of becoming angry. You know that his human side lost the control of his behavior. He is acting like an animal for being dominated by his animal nature.

The human mind is a control panel that works based on knowledge. Now you completely ignore the existence of your anti-conscience, and you didn’t acquire complete consciousness yet.

When you translate the meaning of your dreams, you’ll understand all the mistakes you make because you are influenced by your animal nature. As you understand that you are wrong when you do certain things in a certain way, you acquire consciousness. You realize that you are doing what is bad for you. You cannot ignore this fact, the same way you cannot ignore that when you are eating something and your food falls in the street, it becomes dirty and you cannot simply catch it from the dirty street and keep eating. There are dangerous bacteria in the dirty street.

As you understand all your mistakes, you stop acting like a violent and indifferent animal. You acquire a mindful thinking, giving importance to all the details that compose your reality. You stop making mistakes, and at a certain point, you become a perfect human being who possesses many virtues.

By studying the functioning of the human mind through dream translation, you’ll learn how to abandon the misconceptions of our civilization. This is how you’ll discover authentic happiness that lasts forever.

Christina Sponias continued Carl Jung’s research into the human psyche, discovering the cure for all mental illnesses, and simplifying the scientific method of dream interpretation that teaches you how to accurately translate the meaning of your dreams, so that you can find health, wisdom and happiness.

You’ll always understand how other people feel, having a direct contact with your social environment.

Dream interpretation according to the scientific method is a very serious occupation. The scientific method accurately translates the meaning of the dream images, so that you may find sound mental health thanks to the unconscious guidance. All dream images have a symbolic meaning that must be translated according to the dream language. The meaning of this language was discovered by Carl Jung. I perfected his method of dream interpretation, after simplifying it for you.

When the dream images reflect prosecutions and various very dangerous situations, we understand that the dreamer is being threatened by the absurdity contained in the anti-conscience, the wild side of the human conscience. When we find many important dream symbols in a dream, this means that the dreamer is receiving a very important message from the unconscious mind. Dreams rich in symbolism predict the future development of the dreamer’s life.

There are numerous things we can understand about the dreamer’s personality and life when we know the dream language. When you are the dreamer yourself, you can learn everything you need to learn in order to evolve and become a true genius. Your intelligence will be balanced by your feelings, because you will be sensitive. Your intelligence and your sensitivity will give real life to your personality. You’ll always understand how other people feel, having a direct contact with your social environment.

Right now your intelligence needs development, and you are too insensitive, even if you believe you are sensitive. Without eliminating the influence of the anti-conscience, the wild side of your conscience, you cannot become sensitive enough.

You will eliminate the anti-conscience through dream therapy, by following the wise guidance of the unconscious mind in your dreams. For example, when you’ll see yourself in a dream in a very dangerous position, you’ll understand that you are in a dangerous position in your life too. The anti-conscience influences your behavior, provoking problems in your daily life. By translating the meaning of your dreams and following the unconscious guidance you’ll gradually evolve, and acquire complete consciousness.

Nightmares reflect real dangers in your daily life. They try to prevent what is bad. You have to understand the dream language in order to do what is necessary so that you may avoid suffering. The unconscious mind sends you many nightmares when you are making costly mistakes in order to open your eyes. Only after completely evolving, will you stop making mistakes. You’ll do only what brings positive results in your life.

Now you can easily learn the dream language and put into practice the value of the meaning of your own dreams. Only then will you really understand how important the dream messages are. Today this is a very simple practice. After translating numerous dreams for numerous people, I managed to greatly simplify Jung’s method of dream interpretation. I transformed it into a fast method of immediate translation.

You only have to study my dynamic method for a while in order to be into direct contact with the divine unconscious mind that knows everything. You’ll have answers for all your questions. You’ll also avoid diseases, accidents, and other misfortunes.

Christina Sponias continued Carl Jung’s research into the human psyche, discovering the cure for all mental illnesses, and simplifying the scientific method of dream interpretation that teaches you how to accurately translate the meaning of your dreams, so that you can find health, wisdom and happiness.

Evaluating the Controversy.

tarting with the Scopes Trials in Tennessee in 1925, the battle between evolution and creationism sparked a nationwide, heated debate about the separation of church and state when it comes to teaching about evolution in biology classes. This battle continues today as students, parents, and sometimes, members of the school board want creationism or intelligent design to be taught alongside or instead of evolution. Creationists and intelligent design proponents from flawed statements and ideas that are filled with assumptions based on their own misunderstanding of evolution. Creationists object to evolution because it takes God out of the explanation for the way things work. Most creationists are avid followers of the Bible and take the word of the Bible seriously, relying on the Book of Genesis to support their claim the God created every organism as it appears today. Intelligent design proponents see flaws in evolution because there are some pieces in the whole theory of evolution that have not been explained due to a gap in evidence. For this reason, these proponents believe that some intelligent designer created the organisms the way they appear today. Both creationists and those who support intelligent design object to evolution because they disagree with some of the ideas due to their religion or due to their misunderstanding and misuse of evidence. These alternative ideas developed by fundamentalists are rejected by the scientific community due to its invalid scientific method of inquiry. Over the past century, the judicial laws and rulings that have been barring the teaching of evolution have slowly been overturned, but the American public remains with misguided ideas about evolution as they are still fairly uneducated with respect to certain aspects of evolution, such as the formation of the camera-type eye.

In the early 1900’s, the expansion of public schools and the popularity of the World’s Christian Fundamentals Association influenced the passing of anti-evolution bills. One of the laws in the Progressive era of American history forced all teenagers to attend school, where the teachers taught evolution. From the teachers teaching to the spread of this knowledge to families, the idea of evolution extended into many American families. The World’s Christian Fundamentals Association saw Darwinian evolution as a threat to their faith in the Bible, especially because of the contradiction between Darwinian evolution and the Book of Genesis. Because families and many people in American society were followers of the word of the Bible, many joined the World’s Christian Fundamentals Association. During the formation of this association, “fundamentalist” was coined to describe those who are turning away from dangerous trends, such as believing in evolution (PBS). Because Darwinian evolution was a threat to their beliefs, the World’s Christian Fundamentals Association looked for a way to draw people away from modernist trends.

In the early 1920s, with the help of William Jennings Bryan, who was very influential in the politics of America, the fundamentalist movement turned into a popular battle against the teaching of evolution in classes. William Jennings Bryan used is political power as Democratic candidate for president to campaign against the teaching of evolution in schools. As a reaction to Bryan’s campaign, the first anti-evolution bills pass in 1923. Starting with Oklahoma where textbooks were banned from teaching evolution, Florida and later Tennessee followed in suit. The Tennessee law banning the teaching of human evolution sparked controversy as the American Civil Liberties Union disagreed with the law, leading to The Scopes Trial in 1925. In this trial, the Tennessee Supreme Court threw out the decision to convicted Scopes of violating the anti-evolution law. This case did not address the constitutionality of the law, but gained wide attention through its media coverage. The teaching of evolution in classes became such a controversy that it was eliminated from the curriculum in most schools due to the anti-evolution laws in place.

However, when the Soviets successfully launched Sputnik into outer space in 1957, the Americans feared that the Soviets would beat them in the space race. In response to Sputnik, the National Science Foundation funds the printing of textbooks written by biologists that cover evolution. The government began to push for advancements in science education, so more and more schools began to teach evolution. The teachers also started to rally against the anti-evolution laws that were put into place in response to William Jennings Bryan. In Epperson v. Arkansas, the Supreme Court ruled that the Missouri law banning the teaching of evolution in biology was unconstitutional. The Supreme Court decided that it was illegal to ban evolution on the basis that it contradicted “‘a particular religious doctrine’” (NOVA). Anti-evolution laws were overturned by this Supreme Court ruling, but led to the emergence of “creation science” in the late 1900’s.

In 1972, Henry Morris, the author of Genesis Flood, funds the Creation Research Institute in response to the overturning of laws banning the teaching of evolution in schools. Morris wrote a second book, Scientific Creationism, which became the basis of the movement rallying for the teaching of “creation science” (PBS). In 1981, the Louisiana Balanced Treatment Act called for the teaching of “creation science” along with evolution in science classes (NOVA). The purpose of these laws was to give creationism the same amount of attention as evolution in science classes. The Supreme Court ruled that “creation science” violated the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment of the Bill of Rights. This clause prohibits Congress to establish a national religion and forbids the “support of a religious idea with no identifiable secular purpose” (Wikipedia). Any attempt to teach creationism in science classes was now squandered because the Supreme Court ruled that requiring the teaching creationism in science classes was unconstitutional.

In response to the overturning of creationist “equal-time” laws spurred the emergence of “intelligent design” and warning disclaimers in the 1990’s and the early 2000’s. Intelligent design proponents concluded that there was “irreducible complexity” in the living world that evolution fails to explain (PBS). To avoid the religious debates, the replaced “Creator” with “intelligent designer” so that the proponents of intelligent design could demand these ideas to be taught in classes. Intelligent design proponents attempted to teach intelligent design in classes by claiming “that they just want to ‘teach controversy’ of evolution in public schools” (Smith). In 1994, requirements are passed where textbooks must have disclaimers that portray the fact that evolution is “‘controversial’ and ‘a theory, not a fact.’” (PBS). Instead of proposing the teaching of creationism in schools, those who disagree with the concept of the theory of evolution suggested the teaching of intelligent design, which is essentially creationism but replacing “Creator” with a more vague term.

Intelligent design proponents take advantage of the fact that the general public is fairly uneducated in the sense of the definition of a theory and the mechanics of how evolution and natural selection work. They claim that some biological organs are too complex to exist by being “formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications” (Darwinism Refuted) as proposed by evolutionary theory. Intelligent design proponents believe that there is an error in the theory of evolution based on the misconception that the mutations the created the stages from one point to another are always advantageous. However, the theory of evolution highlights that there are mutations that are detrimental to the organism and other mutations that are beneficial.

In the Alabama disclaimer, the misconception that some living structures are irreducibly complex so all parts of the structure must have been created at once in order for them to be functional is inherent. With respect to the evolution of the camera-type eye, intelligent design proponents believe that because the eye requires all parts to develop in the same organism at the same time to function properly. The intelligent design website, http://www.harunyahya.com/refuted13.php, proposes that since “‘the simultaneous development of all the structures for sight is unavoidable…their development all together requires the coming together of unimaginably small probabilities’” (Darwinism Refuted). Intelligent design proponents failed to recognize that the camera-type eye did arise in stages where a clearer image was favored in natural selection. If a camera-type eye were to be designed, a designer would have had all the blood vessels and nerves behind the cones and rods in the retina, but a complex eye that we see today in nature has blood vessels in front of the photoreceptors. Intelligent design proponents proposed that if one of the parts were to be missing, the eye cannot function, which is a misconception. According to Kenneth Miller, “every improvement in vision, no matter how slight, would be favored – and favored dramatically – by natural selection” (Miller). This statement points out the fact that simple photoreceptors that can tell the difference between light and dark is better than not having any sort of way to “see.” The camera eye may not function without all it part in the sense that it cannot produce a sharp image, but a simpler version of the eye, such as a simple dip in the skin that can from shadows of other organisms helps that organism avoid obstacles and possibly avoid predators. Complexity comes from the extra copies of genes that mutate. The original copies function as the basis of the organism that is necessary for survival while the extra copies “change and come to perform new but related functions” (Smith). The duplicated genes can mutate, but they can also combine together. The structures, which were initially not essential to the survival of the organism but gave it an advantage, can become necessary for survival. Intelligent design proponents fail to realize that although there seem to be flaws or gaps in the theory of evolution at the surface, the evidence can be a basic idea that a slight modification of a structure can be very beneficial to the organism. Intelligent design has its own flaws: its biggest being that it is not a “genuine science because it offers no scientific evidence in its support and has no coherent scientific methods or mechanisms.” (Smith).

In 2005, intelligent design was put to the test in Kitzimiller v. Dover Area School District when the school board ordered that classes that taught evolution had to begin with a two-minute announcement supporting the study of intelligent design. In this ruling, the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania federal district court determined that intelligent design was not a science. It was also determined to be a “‘religious view, a mere relabeling of creationism’” (NOVA). While intelligent design and creationism are no longer taught in schools and evolution is taught everywhere, the debate still continues today.

The controversy of teaching evolution or creationism in schools may seem to have reached a close, but it is still going on today. With the general American public still confused about evolution and the scientific meaning of theory, many misconceptions have sprung up. These misconceptions cause people to refute evolution on the basis of flawed information. Once the general American truly understands the mechanics of evolution and the definition of a scientific theory, this controversy will finally end.

Through dream analysis we are able to see the internal functioning of the dreamer’s brain and learn many things about his or her psychological traumas and life.

When the dream images are translated according to the scientific method of dream interpretation discovered by Carl Jung and simplified by me who continued his research, we can clearly understand the unconscious messages.

Many people doubt that Jung could really discover the hidden meaning of dreams, many people doubt that I could continue his research and discover how we can prevent and eliminate all mental illnesses, but many other people are verifying by themselves that our work is a true salvation.

Carl Jung managed to discover the hidden code for a perfect dream translation and I discovered how we can prevent all mental illnesses by completely trusting the unconscious wisdom. Jung was afraid to do so with the knowledge he had.

Recent scientific discoveries and my own translations of the meaning of many dream symbols that Jung could not explain, helped me understand better than him the real meaning of dreams.

Dream messages work like free psychotherapy, showing you how to transform your personality and evolve. You will find perfect mental health without a doubt.

This is a guaranteed method of psychotherapy that has most positive results. There are millions of people in the world who have seen the benefits of dream interpretation as a science. Especially now that I simplified Jung’s complicated method of dream interpretation transforming it into a simple translation from images into words, so that the meaning of dreams became very clear.

Your natural doctor knows better than anyone else how to cure your psyche. It will help you develop your intelligence and protect your mental health throughout your entire life.

This is free psychotherapy that prevents all mental illnesses and also cures them. Dream interpretation as a science is a safe solution for everyone.

I’m giving you free dream interpretation and analysis lessons in my articles, so that you may see for yourself that this method is very serious and really helps you connect with the unconscious wisdom.

You only need to care about the dreams you see when you sleep, then write them down and translate them according to my simplification of Carl Jung’s method. My process is the correct one; all other techniques on the market today have failed and fallen short of their goal.

You’ll solve your psychological problems and discover a new world with the knowledge you will obtain by following this method.

As an added bonus, if you have a family, you’ll help your children prevent all mental illnesses. They will never be threatened by this danger in their lives, and will never have to go through the hardships you did before embarking upon dream therapy.

If you are alone and looking for a partner in your life, the unconscious mind will help you find your perfect mate, thus guaranteeing your happiness.

If you already have a relationship, the unconscious mind will help you keep it alive, showing you everything about the personality of the person you love.

The unconscious mind will bring health, happiness, peace and wisdom to your life. It will answer all your questions and concerns and show you how to live up to your full human potential.

Christina Sponias continued Carl Jung’s research into the human psyche, discovering the cure for all mental illnesses, and simplifying the scientific method of dream interpretation that teaches you how to exactly translate the meaning of your dreams, so that you can find health, wisdom and happiness.

Let me take you back to your first romantic crush

Remember the uneasy butterfly feelings, the emotional rush?

The tingling in your feelings, the unsettled nerve

The strong excited attraction and longing

You hoped others couldn’t easily observe

Not every person who walked pass could do that to you

It was not entirely under your control either

Because when unfulfilled it could leave you blue

From birth, your genetic make up, your DNA, is programmed from the start

To have an attraction to only certain genetic characteristics

Which when present can trigger feelings of romance in your heart

Not everyone who walks pass can cause that reaction to trigger

With such a fierce longing full of such romantic vigor

Now imagine a gay man

When a beautiful woman holds out her hand

Nothing happens, no tingling in his nerves, no attraction, no longing

Which could cause a sincere desire for belonging

Now imagine a gay woman

When a handsome man puts forth his hand

Nothing happens, no tingling in her nerves, no attraction, no lust

Which could create a sincere desire for a deep romance that both could trust

But suddenly a handsome guy walks pass the gay man

And something happens that neither one of them has planned

The gay man is surprised to find his nerves began to tingle

And an excited lustful attraction within his emotions starts to mingle

But not all men can cause him to feel that way

Only the few his genetic make up “tingles” for to show that love would be O.K.

For all people gay or straight that “tingle” turns into a crush

And is the sole sensation we equate with a true love which can’t be hushed

Something not easily ignored

Our love genes have not purred; They have roared!

No one controls the mechanics of a lust

It is natural and spontaneous in its thrust

Before you know it you’ll be helplessly in love

And no help for it from a hell below or a heaven above

No help when it becomes part of natures plan

That a woman might lust for a man

That a man might lust for a womb man

That a gay man might lust for a gay man

That a lesbian might lust for a lesbian

One lives it, one cannot live a lie

There being little harm in it by and by

Love is love, is love, is love

Takes flight like an eagle and settles like a dove

But the human race seems up in arms

About the nature of these gay ones

Which I say is evolution – But only midway

And the resulting end to these evolving means are millions of years away

But if you’re born that way here today

You must live it, the orientation of your lust, is here to stay

You can ignore it while it nags at you

But it will not be going away

If it be spiritual (unlikely) then a God must undo

What he has spiritually done at the start

When the first miracle of love given to a human heart

(Before there was a woman)

Was immediately between male and male

The apex of a same-sex relationship

God must undo what was done and create female spiritually first

And in this next burst of creativity

Create the apex of an opposite sex relationship

Immediately between female and (himself) male

Or if it be genetic (likely) Then it is evolution midway through

And which has not completed its final revelation in what it intends to do

Therefore, in time, over millions of years, it will evolve and complete itself

Showing what evolution intends to do, and what new uniqueness nature has left

But what involves inquisitive YOU is to be able to calmly and intelligently learn to say

To any member of the “Gay Community”

Who might be romantically curious and come your way

“Sorry- you guessed wrong, I’m not gay, so you can’t date me

But I wish you luck in your search for a mate

Whoever that may turn out to be

And I take it as a compliment

That had I been gay

You might have wanted me.”

This is a brief article describing the meaning of the phrase: Explore-Create-Evolve.

To begin with, let me tell you what these words mean separately. ‘Explore’ means to search thoroughly, ‘Create’ means to produce or form, and ‘Evolve’ means to develop or change gradually. From this, one can easily deduce what these words mean collectively. But that isn’t enough. Together, they mean a lot more than they seem to. They have a much deeper meaning which varies for different people and levels. For instance, if a student like me reads this phrase, the first thing that would pop up into his/her head would be academic projects. For projects, students explore the given topic, create meaningful reports on the same and finally evolve them into good projects.

Let’s consider another example. A person explores the topic of his choice, creates a website and uses people’s suggestions to evolve it to a better version. Another interesting example would be scientist’s innovations. Once they start working on an entity, they explore it, create conclusions, and evolve them into facts that form the basis of our knowledge. These are just daily life examples. If we think about this in a broader sense, this is exactly what life demands from us. We should explore our mistakes, learn from them, create good habits and evolve into better human beings.

So, be prepared to face all situations with the unbeatable EXPLORE-CREATE-EVOLVE method and be an achiever.
