Friday the 13th is coming up. Spend the day/night in with the lights turned down and a spooky movie on TV. Here are a few of the scariest movies.

Move over, Halloween. There’s a new night to indulge in a marathon of scary movies. Friday the 13th is coming up, and what better way is there to celebrate the day than to watch a few scary movies on the tube at home with the lights turned off? Here are a few of our picks of must-watch movies on Friday the 13th.

Nightmare on Elm Street
We’re introduced to psychopath Freddy Krueger in the 1984 thriller, “Nightmare on Elm Street.” Before being burned alive by an angry mob of parents, Krueger murdered several children with a glove outfitted with straight razor blades that were attached to his fingers. Years after his death, Krueger continued to haunt small children – this time, it was in their dreams. One child whose dreams he haunted was Nancy Thompson, the daughter of the police officer who arrested Krueger. After her best friend dies in her sleep violently during a dream involved Krueger, Nancy decides that she must find a way to stop Krueger’s terror or else never sleep again.
Released: 1984

Poltergeist
What seem to be friendly ghosts visit a family in their home. The youngest daughter of the family connects with the ghosts through a dead channel on the television. The ghosts appear to be nice at first, and they move objects around the house to amuse the family. However, after the niceness wears off, the ghosts begin to get nasty and the scares are almost too numerous to count, but include angry trees and murderous dolls, and eventually the youngest daughter is abducted.
Released: 1982

The Exorcist
The story in this film is based off of a true story, which makes the film that much scarier. The plot follows a visiting actress in Washington, D.C. The actress begins to notice dramatic and dangerous changes in the physical appearance and behavior of her 12-year-old daughter, Regan, who has violent outbursts on everyone who comes into contact with her. It is then determined by a priest that what Regan needs is more than a medical doctor or a psychiatrist – what she needs is an exorcist.
Released: 1973

Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Feeling like a documentary, “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” follows five teenagers who make a trip up to their grandfather’s grave, which is vandalized. On their way, they pick up a hitchhiker, who ends up killing himself, as well as one of the five teens, Franklin. While they manage to get away, they are forced to stop at a small house nearby in hopes of getting gas for the car. Unbeknownst to them, the house is the home of Leatherface and his creepy cannibalistic psychopathic family. One at a time, the teenagers are murdered, leaving Sally to be the last surviving teen. Will she survive?
Released: 1974

The Shining
Based off of the book, “The Shining,” by Stephen King, this film adaptation takes you on a journey where a family experiences extreme cabin fever and the husband slowly descends into madness and becomes a homicidal maniac. Jack Torrance, his wife and son become the winter caretakers of an isolated hotel. Danny, the son, realizes that he has a telepathic gift known as “the Shining.” He begins to have disturbing visions of the hotel’s past, while his father’s cabin fever results in him slipping into insanity. Danny has to then protect his mother and try to survive the demons of the hotel.
Released: 1980

Mysterious Brother Hermes casts the devil out of people with earth and fire.

Forget the exorcism of a famous horror movie The Exorcist. When in Colombia look at the poor possessed covered with mud and surrounded by fire during the ritual, which leads mystical brother Hermes, you will find that the scene has little to do with any traditional religious or spiritual ceremony.

In the mud and flames
But these bizarre scenes fall between twenty-year tradition of exorcism components brother Hermes, who says that the ritual deprives people of evil spirits. Colombian exorcist first people to wear white robes and then lay on the ground in the shape of a cross between the red and yellow marker posts.

Fifty spiritual leader, whose civil name is Hermes Cifuentes, ritual participants also rubs from head to toe in black mud, forcing the state during the ceremony in the deep holes in the ground.Possessed people must show strong faith at work and do penance spiritual leader by lying in the mud surrounded by flames.

Blind Faith
Many participants also have a ritual eyes covered with bandages and blackened bodies along the tangled green and white ribbons connecting the wooden cross. To cap a bizarre scene remains to mention fruit and placing candles around the obsessive and eggs on his head. Only then will the proper connection with the mystical healer, who then performs an exorcism or healing by placing your hands close to the body and the head man in a religious trance.

Whether Hermes methods actually deliver the desired results, it is very difficult to say, but about an exorcist must do something right, judging by the high demand for its services. In his residence at La Cumbre each week replace about ten people who come for advice, or directly ask some of the curative or exorcist rituals

These entities, depending on the beliefs of those involved, can be demons, evil spirits, witches, etc.

The object of possession can be a person or animal, objects and even places like villages or houses (Poltergeist).

Possession may be total (the entity takes over the functions of the possessed, can move, talk, etc, through the victim) or partial (in which the body uses the possessed to any particular activity, such as Incubus or succubi who have sex with the victim while she sleeps).

Exorcism is present in most major religions, including Christianity, Judaism and Islam.

<a href=”http://www.mundodesombras.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/anneliese.jpg” rel=”nofollow” title=”anneliese.jpg”> </ a>
Exorcism has been to the cinema, in films like The Exorcist (William Friedkin, 1973), based on the novel by William Peter Blatty and Constantine (Francis Lawrence, 2008), based on the comic book “Hellblazer” by Jamie Delano Garth Ennis.

Another movie is The Exorcism of Emily Rose based on a real case of exorcism of a possessed girl, in which it has just died, his parents and priests participants tried and convicted of malpractice.

Catholic exorcist:

<a href=”http://www.mundodesombras.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/exorcismo2_01.jpg” rel=”nofollow” title=”exorcismo2_01.jpg”> </ a>
The Catholic exorcism ritual, including the continuous repetition of sentences and deportation orders, and the use of objects that can repel the body, in this case a demon, as crucifixes, holy water, relics, among others.

Exorcism in the Catholic theology is based on the Gospel texts which tell of the release and expulsion of demons that Jesus did as the possessed of Gadara (Matt. 8.28 ss) to a young man (Mark 9.21 ) mentioning for example that some demons to beat required practice of fasting and prayer (Matt. 17:19) even had a power that his disciples (Luke 10.17). Seven specific cases of possession told in the Gospels.

In the early centuries there were no precise formulas to exorcise, although the charisma to cast out demons, which was used by Christian apologists to show the divinity of Christianity, such as Tertullian (Apología. 23) and Minucius Felix (Octavius 27 .)

The first book with formulas of exorcism is the status Ecclesiae Latinae in late 500, and a literature exorcist comes to books like the Malleus Maleficarum in 1494 (J. Sprengurus) the Flagellum Daemonum of 1606 (V. Polidorus), Manuale Exorcistarum ( C. Brognolus) 1720.

Main criterion for correct discernment of demonic possession according to the new ritual

Having been ruled a mental disorder, whether pathological or paranormal, are often considered signs of demonic possession: vehement aversion to God, the Virgin, the Saints, the cross and sagradas.Además images, depending on good or harmful purpose for which employs, was able to discern whether the following productions of the person under investigation, are gifts from God, or signs of possession:

Speaking with many tongues words or things present or distant entenderlas.Hacer escondidas.Demostrar normal.Para harder than the practice of exorcism is the authorization of the bishop, who can be granted once a time for each specific case or general and permanent priest who exercises the ministry of exorcist in the diocese

It should be pointed out that the power to expel demons was given by Jesus Christ Himself to His disciples, and therefore the bishop has no power to deprive a priest of this power. The rule does not exorcise without permission of the bishop was established in recent times, to avoid exorcised without the assurance that there possession.

The priests of the Catholic Church to perform the exorcism do so under the terms of the Rituale Romanum. Today should be used as approved by the Pope in January 1999.

Exorcism is the act of breaking the power of the Devil or other evil spirits that influence or control a person's actions. Exorcism presupposes the existence of the Devil as an evil force in the lives of human beings.

The Devil’s influence has many degrees. He can tempt a person to do something wrong, such as lie or commit a crime. He can even dominate an individual by temporarily taking control of the person’s body.

When an evil spirit takes control of an individual or of an individual’s actions, the person is said to be possessed. A possessed person may go into convulsions, acquire extraordinary strength, or shout curses–with no apparent explanation. Sometimes the evil spirit affects objects near the possessed person. For example, the spirit might cause objects to fly through the air. An evil spirit also could take control of a room or of an entire building.

Possession is difficult to verify because the phenomenon could result from causes other than evil spirits. For example, a supposedly possessed person might really be suffering a mental or physical illness.

Some Christian denominations and other religions have ceremonies for driving out devils and evil spirits. The New Testament tells that Jesus Christ exorcised devils. Jesus also gave His apostles the power to drive out devils. In the Roman Catholic Church, an exorcism is a ceremony that consists of a series of prayers recited over the possessed person.

In the A.D. 200’s, the church established the office of exorcist, one who performs an exorcism. Priests hold this office but require a bishop’s permission to perform an exorcism. The church’s sacrament of baptism and the blessing of holy oil and holy water include prayers that ask God for protection from attacks by devils.
