Some hoooowlingly good werewolf films.

Werewolves in films

The Werewolf

The Werewolf made in 1913 is a silent short film that is the first werewolf film, and was based on the short story The Werewolves by Henry Beaugrand.

It was directed by Henry MacRae, scripted by Ruth Ann Baldwin, produced by the Bison Film Company and released by Universal Studios. It is now considered a lost film, all the prints supposedly having been destroyed in a 1924 fire.

A Navajo woman becomes a witch after mistakenly coming to believe that her husband has abandoned her. She teaches the same skills to her daughter Watuma, who transforms into a wolf in order to carry out punishment against the invading white settlers. Then, 100 years after Watuma’s death, she returns from the dead to kill again….

                                        ………………………………………

An American Werewolf in London

An American Werewolf in London is a 1981 comedy-horror film written and directed by John Landis, and starring David Naughton, Jenny Agutter, and Griffin Dunne. Shooting took place mostly in London but also in Surrey and Wales

The film starts with two young American men, David and Jack, on a backpacking holiday in England. Following an uncomfortable visit to a village pub, the two men venture deep into the moors at night. They are attacked by a werewolf, which results in Jack’s death and David being taken to a London hospital. Through apparitions of his dead friend and distressing dream sequences, David becomes clued-up that he is a werewolf and will change at the next full moon….

The film was followed by a 1997 sequel, An American Werewolf in Paris, which featured a totally different cast and none of the original crew, and is dispersed by Disney’s Hollywood Pictures.

                                                          …………………………………

Cry of the Werewolf

Cry of the Werewolf, also known as Daughter of the Werewolf, is a 1944 film starring Nina Foch, based on a story by Griffin Jay and directed by Henry Levin.

A Romany princess descended from Marie LaTour has the skill to change into a wolf at will, just like her late mother. When she learns that Marie LaTour’s tomb has been revealed, she decides to use her talent to kill everyone who knows the location; because it is a sacred secret that only her people are allowed to know…

                                                          …………………………………….

I Was a Teenage Werewolf

I Was a Teenage Werewolf is a 1957 horror film starring Michael Landon as a troubled teenager and Whit Bissell as the primary adult. It was co-written and produced by cult film producer Herman Cohen, and was one of the most successful films released by American International Pictures. It was originally released as a double feature with Invasion of the Saucer Men.

Landon’s character is Tony Rivers, a disturbed, angry young man who seeks hypnotherapy for his problem. Unfortunately, the practitioner he seeks out, played by Bissell, is also a very disturbed man with distinct mad scientist overtones who, with the help of scopolamine injections, effectively regresses his patient into a werewolf with disastrous results……

                                                        …………………………………………

Mad Monster Party/?

Mad Monster Party/? (Some titles have a question mark others don’t) is a 1967 American animated comedy film released by Embassy Pictures for Rankin/Bass Productions, Inc.

When Dr Frankenstein decides to retire from the monster-making business, he calls a worldwide riot of monsters to an eerie gathering to choose his successor….

Bromance is nothing but a close relationship between two or more men. It is considered a normal attachment and the guys in relation come closer together usually finding commonness in their ability and leading to admiration. They like to flock together. It's sometimes also referred to as "man crush".

Bromance is a healthy relationship between hetero-sexual males .They are usually single but such relationships may even develop among men in relationships . They enjoy spending time together . They admire each other’s activities and interests . They take pleasure in discussing business , trades , investments and even women , anything that’s considered suitable for discussion among men .

The word bromance originates from the combination of the two words ‘bros‘ meaning male friends or brothers and ‘romance‘ . While talking about bromance people usually refer to the phrase “I love you man !” while some refer it as ‘man crush’ as the level of bonding is unusual for they feel happy to hang out together for hours . They enjoy participating in sports activities or delving into important issues while gulping bottles after bottles of beer .

There have been several films and television series focussing on this subject . This can be considered as one of the finest form of relationships as individuals of similar interests and thinking find it easier to share and express with each other . They can relate to each other’s emotions and thoughts . They can help each other more and sometimes they find more close bonding with each other which may surpass their relationship with the women folks .

Women may sometimes find it abnormal as they may miss their male partners who are involved in such relationships but it has been seen that such relationships make men more happy , strong and mature . They are glad discussing with male friends issues that are akin to them as they feel more comfortable with them than discussing it with their ladies . They find solutions and get ideas to live a better life as singles as well as with partners of opposite sex . So girls don’t doubt them rather leave them for sometime while you enjoy your time with your own friends .

Some recent films and television series have celebrated this concept of bromance and bromantic activities and made it more acceptable in the society . It’s no more considered an abnormal behaviour but a meaningful and expressive bonding of friendship between men .

I ain't getting on no plane fool! I should think not and after you've read through these five films, which include: Turbulence, Flight of the Living Dead and Snakes on a Plane, you won't want to either.

Go on, admit it, no matter what we say none of us are completely confident when we board our flight at the beginning of our holiday. Statistically, air travel is one of the safest forms of transport but not in our petrified minds it isn’t, as we fasten our seat belts ready for what we know will be a white knuckle ride.

If you’re all set for this year’s adventure tours, but you’re slightly more nervous of those big metal things with wings, take note of this warning. Don’t watch any of these films before you board your flight.

Turbulence

As the tagline asks ‘Can You Survive the Ride?’ This film sees a homicidal maniac, all too brilliantly played by Ray Liotta, overpowering and finishing off all but one of the airline crew. As the one remaining stewardess makes a failed attempt to land the plane we see it skim the top of an office building and a car park before being warned by charming authorities that it will be shot down. Don’t worry, it’s fictional, of course it wouldn’t happen.

Flight of the Living Dead: Outbreak on a Plane

Come on, you knew it had to happen. You can’t escape from the ubiquitous zombies! This routine flight from Los Angeles sees a bunch of scientists smuggling a container on-board the plane which contains a fellow scientist contaminated with a deadly virus which brings the dead back to life as, you guessed it, zombies. Not just normal zombies either, these are ‘superhuman’ zombies. One even survives being thrown into the engine of the ‘plane!

Chaos ensues during a patch of turbulence and before long there’s an epidemic of the undead at 30,000 feet. As ever, the authorities refuse the pilot permission to land and the film ends in a crash landing near Las Vegas with a few desperate survivors clambering free – and some zombies of course.

Watch out for strange looking academic types containing body shaped containers and whispering quietly as you’re waiting to board.

Snakes on a Plane
A cautionary tale for anyone who hasn’t checked out their airline’s reptile policy. If you suffer from ophidophobia do not watch this film as snakes are everywhere – and boy, are these guys hungry. If your flight is likely to be overwhelmed by these slimy creatures one thing can guarantee your safety. Make sure you’ve got Samuel L Jackson on board!

Final Destination

Well, you can see what it says. ‘You can’t cheat death’ and this film proves it if nothing else does. As a group of teenagers board a flight, one of them has a premonition of the aircraft exploding just after takeoff. He manages to get a group off the flight and low and behold the vision comes horrifically true. Phew, they’ve escaped you might think. Not true. Even if you do escape before takeoff, you can’t escape your fate. One by one the teenagers die in horrific circumstances.

Alive

Or in some cases, not. Definitely not for the faint hearted. You can laugh off the rest but this one is a true story. It tells of Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571’s ill-fated journey which crashed into the Andes on 13th October 1972 carrying a Uruguayan rugby team among its passengers. With no rescue in sight and no supplies left, the survivors resort to eating the dead…well, what would you have done?

Relax these are only movies, things like this don’t actually happen in real life. Snakes on a plane? Don’t make me laugh. Premonitions and zombies? Do me a favour. Flying over the Andes sometime soon? Make sure you take a box of sarnies and a few bags of crisps with you. Just in case.

Have fun on your next trip!

Biog: Kate Smedley is considering sailing on her adventure tours this year.

“There are no main characters Caucasians. When I showed it to all (the studies) said no. They do not know how to promote a film, “said Lucas, who as director has a history of such titles as” The Wars “,” Indiana Jones “and” American Graffiti. “

Although critics say that the characters are simpler than it is credible, the explosions and action scenes are quite the opposite.

The year 2011 is coming to an end. Many things have happened - some are good while some are bad. Let us review the celebrity news and gossip of the year.

Here are some of the most-talked about celebrity news and gossips of 2011. Read on if you want to know what they are…

Celebrity Break-ups and Hook-ups

Let us look at the breakdown of several high profile marriages in 2011, including that of Arnold Schwazenegger, Jennifer Lopez and Demi Moore.

Arnold Schwazenegger separated from his long-time wife, Maria Shriver, after he admitted fathering an illegitimate child with a plain housekeeper and kept it a secret for years.

Jennifer Lopez separated from Marc Anthony in July but had not filed for a divorce. The sexy 42-year-old has a new man now, who is her 24-year-old back-up dancer, Casper Smart.

Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart

Talking about break-ups, we could not leave out the dissolution of the union between Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher. One of the world’s best known cougar couples, they had called it quits after Kutcher’s alleged infidelities.

However, it is not all bad news as Jennifer Aniston has found herself a new man again after being dumped by Brad Pitt. The popular ‘Friends’ star, who is now basking in love with hot new squeeze, Justin Theroux, has also trumped Angelina Jolie to be the ‘Hottest Woman of All Time’ by Men’s Health Magazine.

Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux

We Will Remember Them

Heavyweight champion Joe Frazier, who beat Muhammad Ali in the Fight of the Century, had died of liver cancer. One of Hollywood’s most legendary beauties, Elizabeth Taylor, had also passed away this year due to a congestive heart failure. The most shocking death should belong to talented but troubled singer, Amy Winehouse, who passed away at the age of 27 in her home due to suspected drug overdose. The ‘Rehab’ singer joined Kurt Cobain and Jimi Hendrix, who died at the same age.

Amy Winehouse

Stealing the Show

Pippa Middleton drew gasps from the crowd as she announced her entrance in a stunning form-fitting white bridesmaid dress designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen. The 27-year-old stole the thunder from her elder sister in the royal wedding of the year and became an instant hit across the globe. Since then, the Duchess of Cambridge’s younger sister had been stalked by the paparazzi.

Pippa Middleton

Celebrity Babies

David and Victoria Beckham welcomed their fourth child, Harper Seven Beckham, who is their first daughter. Mariah Carey gave birth to a pair of twins, Moroccan and Monroe. Victoria’s Secret models, Miranda Kerr and Doutzen Kroes, gave birth to their first child, both sons, while Natalie Portman and pop star Pink became first-time moms.

Harper Seven Beckham

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are in love, at least according to eyewitness. The lovey-dovey couple had been seen holding hands as they shopped, while showing off their affection for each other. Their love remained strong even when Bieber was being accused to have fathered 20-year-old Mariah Yeater’s baby boy.

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez

Celebrity’s Nude Pictures Leaked Online

As you might have heard, nude photos of voluptuous star Scarlett Johansson, Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively, R&B singer Rihanna and High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens had leaked online. Also, Lindsay Lohan’s Playboy photos had been posted online without permission, ahead of its publication on 15 December.

Linsay Lohan

Charlie Sheen’s Infamous News

Troubled star Charlie Sheen had checked into a rehabilitation centre for the third time. He had made several derogatory comments towards Chuck Lorre, the creator of Two and a Half Men, asked for a pay raise even though he was the highest-paid television actor and was fired from the show. Also having an equally complicated personal life, he was allegedly caught partying with porn stars, as well as having two girlfriends at the same time.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, was a puzzling movie to say the least. It doesn’t really have the same gritty, realized feel of the previous movies, instead plunging straight into camp. It starts off with a whimper when Jack Sparrow, (Fun fact: He was a muslim in real life!)

If you’re coming to this movie to see Johnny Depp in a stereotyped Johnny Depp role, you won’t be disappointed. At this point, the main characters are in yet another colonial fatty’s abode, this one happens to be a king. This is where I started to get a little concerned about the tone of the movie, and who the movie’s target audience is. The fat man, as he had few other character traits, acted very silly, moving his hands around in an exaggerated and distracting way while making amusing expressions. It was pitiful.

The bright spot in this scene was the introduction of Barbarossa, easily the best actor in this dismal offering. Jack Sparrow proceeds to have another wacky adventure, and meets his father, which was possibly the laziest way they could have given ‘Ol Pirate McPrettyFace the Mcguffin to start his adventure. The perpetual drunkard (said with all the tenderness of another drinker) visits a bar to get answers or crewmembers or something, and runs into his new love interest, Penelope Cruz, best known to gringos as the hottie from Blow, Johnny Depp’s second wife. I guess she’s nice to look at, but to be frank, a blow up doll with a mobile television tuned into Telemundo could have carried the same acting weight as her, an opinion I blame fully on the director seeing her emotional and believable performance in Blow. However, a crime I cannot forgive her for the OUTRAGEOUS amount of crude, awkward, and just plain stupid sexual joke between her and Johnny Depp. When I heard the line, (Paraphrased) “It seems that when we meet, you always have something pointing at me.” I can honestly say that, I felt the urge to spay a human being. I was disgusted.

The villain, Blackbeard, wasn’t too bad, but the entire subplot behind his mysterious voodoo powers was discarded almost immediately. It was a shame,as he and his ship controlling powers were easily the most interesting part of the movie. The dude had a frickin’ flamethrower in his ship! A cool battle between pirate and mermaid takes place, setting up another side plot that was immediately discarded. The 3D looked like trash. I can honestly say, the thing I most enjoyed about this movie was the popcorn. I give this two stars out of five, and a recommendation that everyone involved in this mess should kill themselves.
