“There are no main characters Caucasians. When I showed it to all (the studies) said no. They do not know how to promote a film, “said Lucas, who as director has a history of such titles as” The Wars “,” Indiana Jones “and” American Graffiti. “

Although critics say that the characters are simpler than it is credible, the explosions and action scenes are quite the opposite.

The year 2011 is coming to an end. Many things have happened - some are good while some are bad. Let us review the celebrity news and gossip of the year.

Here are some of the most-talked about celebrity news and gossips of 2011. Read on if you want to know what they are…

Celebrity Break-ups and Hook-ups

Let us look at the breakdown of several high profile marriages in 2011, including that of Arnold Schwazenegger, Jennifer Lopez and Demi Moore.

Arnold Schwazenegger separated from his long-time wife, Maria Shriver, after he admitted fathering an illegitimate child with a plain housekeeper and kept it a secret for years.

Jennifer Lopez separated from Marc Anthony in July but had not filed for a divorce. The sexy 42-year-old has a new man now, who is her 24-year-old back-up dancer, Casper Smart.

Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart

Talking about break-ups, we could not leave out the dissolution of the union between Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher. One of the world’s best known cougar couples, they had called it quits after Kutcher’s alleged infidelities.

However, it is not all bad news as Jennifer Aniston has found herself a new man again after being dumped by Brad Pitt. The popular ‘Friends’ star, who is now basking in love with hot new squeeze, Justin Theroux, has also trumped Angelina Jolie to be the ‘Hottest Woman of All Time’ by Men’s Health Magazine.

Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux

We Will Remember Them

Heavyweight champion Joe Frazier, who beat Muhammad Ali in the Fight of the Century, had died of liver cancer. One of Hollywood’s most legendary beauties, Elizabeth Taylor, had also passed away this year due to a congestive heart failure. The most shocking death should belong to talented but troubled singer, Amy Winehouse, who passed away at the age of 27 in her home due to suspected drug overdose. The ‘Rehab’ singer joined Kurt Cobain and Jimi Hendrix, who died at the same age.

Amy Winehouse

Stealing the Show

Pippa Middleton drew gasps from the crowd as she announced her entrance in a stunning form-fitting white bridesmaid dress designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen. The 27-year-old stole the thunder from her elder sister in the royal wedding of the year and became an instant hit across the globe. Since then, the Duchess of Cambridge’s younger sister had been stalked by the paparazzi.

Pippa Middleton

Celebrity Babies

David and Victoria Beckham welcomed their fourth child, Harper Seven Beckham, who is their first daughter. Mariah Carey gave birth to a pair of twins, Moroccan and Monroe. Victoria’s Secret models, Miranda Kerr and Doutzen Kroes, gave birth to their first child, both sons, while Natalie Portman and pop star Pink became first-time moms.

Harper Seven Beckham

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are in love, at least according to eyewitness. The lovey-dovey couple had been seen holding hands as they shopped, while showing off their affection for each other. Their love remained strong even when Bieber was being accused to have fathered 20-year-old Mariah Yeater’s baby boy.

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez

Celebrity’s Nude Pictures Leaked Online

As you might have heard, nude photos of voluptuous star Scarlett Johansson, Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively, R&B singer Rihanna and High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens had leaked online. Also, Lindsay Lohan’s Playboy photos had been posted online without permission, ahead of its publication on 15 December.

Linsay Lohan

Charlie Sheen’s Infamous News

Troubled star Charlie Sheen had checked into a rehabilitation centre for the third time. He had made several derogatory comments towards Chuck Lorre, the creator of Two and a Half Men, asked for a pay raise even though he was the highest-paid television actor and was fired from the show. Also having an equally complicated personal life, he was allegedly caught partying with porn stars, as well as having two girlfriends at the same time.

A review of Pirates of the Caribbean. Might I add, a hilaaaarious review.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, was a puzzling movie to say the least. It doesn’t really have the same gritty, realized feel of the previous movies, instead plunging straight into camp. It starts off with a whimper when Jack Sparrow, (Fun fact: He was a muslim in real life!)

throws on a disguise in a fairly predictable courthouse sequence to save his cohort, the Fat Guy with the Side Burns and Pigtail. Bla bla bla, he acts drunk and does something wacky, bla bla. If you’re coming to this movie to see Johnny Depp in a stereotyped Johnny Depp role, you won’t be disappointed. At this point, the main characters are in yet another colonial fatty’s abode, this one happens to be a king. This is where I started to get a little concerned about the tone of the movie, and who the movie’s target audience is. The fat man, as he had few other character traits, acted very silly, moving his hands around in an exaggerated and distracting way while making amusing expressions. It was pitiful.

The bright spot in this scene was the introduction of Barbarossa, easily the best actor in this dismal offering. Jack Sparrow proceeds to have another wacky adventure, and meets his father, which was possibly the laziest way they could have given ‘Ol Pirate McPrettyFace the Mcguffin to start his adventure. The perpetual drunkard (said with all the tenderness of another drinker) visits a bar to get answers or crewmembers or something, and runs into his new love interest, Penelope Cruz, best known to gringos as the hottie from Blow, Johnny Depp’s second wife. I guess she’s nice to look at, but to be frank, a blow up doll with a mobile television tuned into Telemundo could have carried the same acting weight as her, an opinion I blame fully on the director seeing her emotional and believable performance in Blow. However, a crime I cannot forgive her for the OUTRAGEOUS amount of crude, awkward, and just plain stupid sexual joke between her and Johnny Depp. When I heard the line, (Paraphrased) “It seems that when we meet, you always have something pointing at me.” I can honestly say that, I felt the urge to spay a human being. I was disgusted.

The villain, Blackbeard, wasn’t too bad, but the entire subplot behind his mysterious voodoo powers was discarded almost immediately. It was a shame,as he and his ship controlling powers were easily the most interesting part of the movie. The dude had a frickin’ flamethrower in his ship! A cool battle between pirate and mermaid takes place, setting up another side plot that was immediately discarded. The 3D looked like trash. I can honestly say, the thing I most enjoyed about this movie was the popcorn. I give this two stars out of five, and a recommendation that everyone involved in this mess should kill themselves.

A detailed movie profile of The Hunger Games.

This futuristic film sets a scene of a dark-willed society run on macabre ideals of survival of the fittest. Due to be released on 23rd March 2012, The Hunger Games plays along the same lines as Logan’s Run and George Orwell’s classic novel Nineteen Eighty-Four.

The plot of this surely epic to be movie follows much the same lines as a novel and play called The Lottery. In this book, an individual was picked out at random in a lottery-like fashion – hence the name of the book. This was a sombre world too in which absolute authority was the order of the day and disobedience was not tolerated at any level.

The scene is set on the Continental North America. Civilisation in Canada and the United States of America seems to have broken down and destroyed itself in a manner not totally unlike the fall of the Roman Empire. In fact this much-speculated and commented on period of history seems to have been a massive influence on this film. It has been said that a great civilisation cannot be destroyed from the outside until it has destroyed itself from within.

The North American Continent is in ruins. Society that was so taken for granted has been reduced to a shadow of its former self. The demise of this once great nation has not been entirely anthropogenic, however. Nature in all Her might and ruthlessness has lent Mankind a helping hand. Widespread famines and systematic droughts have taken its toll on the helpless inhabitants. A new state rises from the old, like a Phoenix from the flames. They call it Panem. This new country is broken down into a central power called the Capitol and twelve subordinate districts.

An alliance of the twelve districts fought a futile and unsuccessful war campaign against the Capitol. Defeat caused them to submit to a humiliating and bizarre truce condition. It is required by the Capitol that one boy and one girl must be delivered to the Capitol to take part in The Hunger Games once a year. These Hunger Games can be summed up at its simplest as a fight to the death. A sacrifice they considered worth paying in return for peace. The outcome of the fatal competition that awaits each of the competitors is more of a certainty than the environment of the battlefield or the conditions of engagement. Even the audience have a part to play in some circumstances. The event is broadcast on television and it is a universal requirement that all citizens across the land must watch it.

In one of the most deprived areas of Panem, a sixteen-year-old girl, Katniss, lives with her mother and her younger sister. One day her younger sister receives an order to report to the Capitol to participate in the ultimate event. Katniss makes the decision to save her sibling from such an uncertain fate and takes her place instead at the games.

Crew
Director: Gary Ross
Screenplay Writer: Gary Ross
Author of Novel: Suzanne Collins

Cast
Katniss Everdeen – Jennifer Lawrence
Peeta Mellark – Josh Hutcherson
Gale Hawthorne – Liam Hemsworth
Effie Trinket – Elizabeth Banks

Russell Campbell’s book is probably the first– certainly the most up-to-date – to offer an overview of New Zealand documentaries, both those that were made as feature films and those that appeared on television. It comprises a collection of disparate essays that Campbell has written on the subject over a twenty-five year period. Curiously he’s chosen in only a couple of instances to update them, with the result that comments made in one essay are often repeated in another. This irritated me a little, since a small amount of editing would have given the book less of a feeling that Campbell had just gone through his relevant writings and thrown them all together. The book also seems to lack a critical overview, which is odd since it’s come from Victoria University Press. The preface only tells us that the book ‘’makes no claim to comprehensiveness and does not constitute a history of New Zealand documentary.’ The summary at the end merely repeats what’s already been written in the bulk of the book.

Nevertheless, all the essays open our eyes to the riches inherent in the documentary scene, and to the huge and often unsung talents behind the making of these films. It’s possible to view a number of these films online – something that would greatly benefit an enthusiastic reader.

After an introductory essay which shows the breadth of documentary subject matter, Campbell lays the book out in three sections: Workers and Stirrers, State of the Nation and Kiwi Culture. The first includes an essay on Cecil Holmes, an innovative filmmaker from the National Film Unit, someone most of us won’t have heard of. This is followed by discussions of documentaries on internal strife: Bastion Point, strikes, protests, feminism. The second section looks at both political and social themes, especially those that try to offer a view of New Zealand’s history. The essays in these section are well-written, full of detail and mindful of the times in which the films were made.

Lastly, Campbell looks at documentaries focused on Kiwi culture: artists, poets, musicians and kiwiana. The quality of these essays varies: the one on the poets is excellent in detailing how the poets and their poems are treated visually but the one on musicians centres mostly on popular music, and is more of an overview of that scene from its earliest days rather than an overview of the documentaries about the music themselves.

It’s obvious that Campbell has spent many hours watching the innumerable documentaries he discusses (there’s an extensive list provided at the back of the book) and as a filmmaker himself he’s very capable in noting not just how the subject matter is treated but the way in which the filmmakers use various techniques to slant the viewers’ understanding. The book certainly whets the appetite for wanting to actually see some of these movies. I feel, however, that this is something of a preliminary approach to the topic: Campbell obviously has the knowledge to write a fullscale history of the subject matter. It’s to be hoped he’ll have the time to turn his attention to such a work.

Do you like exciting movies? This is the movie for you.

National Treasure: Book of Secrets
Director: Jon Turteltaub
Starring: Nicolas Cage, Diane Kruger, Justin Bartha

The plot: The treasure hunter Benjamin Franklin Gates ( Nicolas Cage ) searches for the truth behind the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, which is written within the 18 missing pages, from the assassin John Wilkes Booth’s diary. His team in the pursuit of truth are, as in the first movie, Riley Poole ( Justin Bartha ) and Abigail Chase ( Diane Kruger ).

If you watched the first movie, certainly you will want to watch the sequel. The movie is of course exciting from beginning to end. Like the first film, the sequel is full of mysteries and puzzles. The entire action of the movie is at the highest level from the beginning to the end of the movie. The way the movie is recorded is perfect, and all the effects in it. With the great cast in this movie, I can say: This is the way to get a very good or perfect movie. The only thing I can say is: Look the movie and enjoy. This is a movie that I definitely recommend.

Have a nice day.

A great film made so wonderfully about the assassination of the President John F. Kennedy and what possibly was the motive behind killing one of America's greatest president.

Executive Action is a 1973 movie about the assassination of the American President, John F. Kennedy. The film is very simple and well made, and supports a popular theory that his assassination might very well have been carried out by the United States government itself.

The film faced a ban after about two weeks of its release due to it being considered anti-government. Though in the film, the characters are all fictional, but the essence of their suggestive meaning is very much real. This is the first film made on the subject. The film is a must-watch for any one interested in the American history as well as in the assassination of one of America’s greatest presidents. Here I am posting it from YouTube in nine parts:
