Betsy Ross is famous for designing the first American Flag. As the story tells, she made it after being visited by George Washington, Robert Morris, and her husband’s uncle, George Ross, in June, 1776. She showed them how, if the fabric were folded properly, you could cut a five pointed star with a single clip of her scissors.
