With each passing hour, 300 children die from malnutrition and a quarter of children on earth have access to enough food to develop properly, says a new report.

Worldwide there are 170 million children under 5 years whose development is affected by malnutrition. In Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Peru and Nigeria (countries hosting half of malnourished children in the world), rising prices for food compel parents to reduce food rations for their children already affected by famine.

The report A Life Free from Hunger ( A life without hunger ), that address malnutrition globally, one third of parents surveyed said their children complain that not enough food. One in six parents can not afford to buy meat, milk or vegetables. This explains why six out of ten children in Afghanistan do not get enough food to avoid problems of normal growth slowdown.

The report notes that, unless measures are taken in the next 15 years half a billion children have physical and mental problems of hunger. In the last five years, food prices increased worldwide due to extreme weather conditions, food speculative transactions, the use of arable land for crops for the production of biofuels and the global financial crisis. The most serious is that those most affected are poor people whose income is not large enough to buy necessary food.

25% of parents of the investigated states were forced to cut food rations for the family, and one in six parents were forced to withdraw their children from schools to send them to work. Food prices in Afghanistan increased by 25% in 2011 and 40 percent in Kenya. In India, half the children have growth problems due to malnutrition.

Save the Children campaign describes malnutrition as a “silent killer” because often, it is not registered as a certified cause of death, which leads to a lack of action by the world. If we intervene early, problems of physical and mental slowing, due to malnutrition, can be directed.

At 7 months, Mohammed Jan, a boy in northern Afghanistan, was only half the weight of an ordinary child. Fortunately, he was taken by a volunteer and sent to hospital Khulm near Mazar-e-Sharif, but it is an isolated case. Many children in similar situations fail to survive.

Although one third of children die from malnutrition, the problem is not as well publicized as AIDS or malaria. In the past 11 years, malaria deaths fell by one third, while cases of malnutrition in Africa fell by only 0.3 percent per year.

More than 30,000 children in Afghanistan die annually from malnutrition. However, most children affected by this problem, almost 85% of them do not die, but neither can develop normally.

From an economic perspective, malnutrition affects developing countries in transition. Bank estimates that malnutrition reduces World GDP in developing countries two to three percent, since these children have problems that make them have an IQ of 15 points lower than other children.

Ah, chocolate! So many different kinds to choose from, and all of it delicious! But where did it originate - and is it really an aphrodisiac?

Ah, chocolate! So many different kinds to choose from, and all of it delicious! But where did it originate – and is it really an aphrodisiac?

The average American consumes 11.7 pounds of chocolate a year. To get an idea of how much – imagine almost 12 packages of butter as being made of solid chocolate – or about the size of your average well-fed house cat. That is a lot of chocolate! (And it won’t stop meowing for some reason.)

The treat so loved worldwide has very humble beginnings. The cacao bean begins life inside a fruit, called a pod, on a tree in the tropics, primarily in remote areas of West Africa, Southeast Asia and Central and South America.

These delicate, flower-covered trees need much tending and, when farmed using sustainable methods, grow in harmony in tropical forests beneath other cash crops such as bananas, rubber or hardwood trees. Grown on small family farms, the beans leave cocoa farms by hand, in carts, on donkeys or rugged trucks to be sold to a local buyer and then to processors abroad. Once in the factory, they are ground, pressed, heated and stirred to create luxurious chocolate.

3,000 years ago, the ancient Meso Americans discovered the seeds which would be processed into what we now know as chocolate on the cacao tree, found in the tropical rainforests of the Americas. They mixed the ground seeds with seasonings back then, to make what they believed to be a health elixir – a bitter, spicy drink that could be considered the World’s first Cocoa drink.

The pods that the cacao seeds grew in were considered by the Mayans to symbolize life and fertility, and so the Mayans often used the symbol of the pod in their religious rituals. They called cacao “The Food of the Gods”. The Aztecs also believed the plant had magic properties, and that it could bestow wisdom and power. They also thought it to be a great source of nutrition – and most interestingly, used it as an aphrodisiac, which today’s science says isn’t so far off!

The Spaniards were the first to introduce sugar to chocolate – and thank goodness they did, or else we wouldn’t be enjoying all of the sweet confections available to us in the present. They also added new spices to the health elixir the Mayans and Aztecs enjoyed, and the modified beverage quickly spread throughout Europe like wildfire, enjoying a reputation as “the drink of the elite” for centuries.

Leave it to the French, however, to further the food’s reputation as an aphrodisiac! Casanova – the infamous womanizer – drank chocolate before seeing his lady friends, and as word of his romantic prowess spread, so did the romantic reputation of chocolate, inspiring much erotic art and literature in the French royal court.

In Barcelona in 1780, finally the first machine-produced chocolate was made. It was still in liquid form, however; smooth, solid eating chocolate would not be available until British chocolatier Fry & Sons developed the first solid chocolate bar in the early 1800s.

So when did Valentines Day chocolates begin to become a tradition? Richard Cadbury, founder of Cadbury Chocolate, introduced the first box of Valentine chocolates in 1868. However, the chocolates must have been dark, because the first milk chocolate was not brought to market until 1875, when a Swiss chocolate maker named Daniel Peter introduced it.

Chocolate became so popular around the world that during World War II, the U.S. government shipped cocoa beans to the troops. Even today, the U.S. Army includes chocolate bars in their rations. Chocolate has even been taken into space by NASA.

So is chocolate an aphrodisiac? Chocolate contains a small amount of phenylethylamine, which has been linked to the regulation of physical energy, mood and attention. A tiny amount of this chemical is released during moments of emotional euphoria, elevating heart rate and blood pressure. There’s no evidence that this chemical in foods elevates the level of the chemical in humans – however, the extra dopamine boost that you get from the caffeine and sugar in chocolate, combined from the happiness of eating such a yummy treat, might put you in a better frame of mind, which can only be a good thing when it comes to romance! Also, some scientists have said that chocolate causes the release of oxytocin, aka “the love chemical”, which causes us to bond with one another. Final analysis? It never hurts to believe!

And it can even help, if it gets you to eat a little chocolate: Dark chocolate (as opposed to milk or white chocolate) contains healthful flavonoids similar to those found in tea, red wine, fruits, and vegetables. Studies have shown that dark chocolate can improve blood vessel flow and may improve blood sugar and insulin sensitivity to help reduce the risk of diabetes. But beware, chocolate candy has plenty of saturated fat and sugar, so enjoy small portions of as part of a healthy diet.

If you do happen to overindulge, just remember, these “Chocolate holidays” only come a few times a year, so just get back to your healthful eating plan as soon as possible – and take a nice, long walk outside to get your motivation and energy back in line. That always does a body good!

How to show your partner that you care.

For many, Valentine’s Day can be one of the most depressing day of the year. If you’re single, the messages which are everywhere spreading thoughts of hope and joy are just nothing of the sort. You can do without them. However, if you are lucky (if you think of it that way) enough to be in a relationship on “The Big Day”, then you might be thinking about what you can do in order to impress your partner. It’s hard to know what you should do, because you don’t want to make too big a gesture, but you don’t want to be seen as being tight fisted either. The following tips should give you ideas about the things that you could do to make your partner feel special on what could well be the most romantic day of the year.

Discuss how much money you’re going to spend on each other. This might seem like a crude and not very romantic way to go about things, however it will be a lot easier for you if you know that you’re going to be equal rather than having one of you spending a heck of a lot more than the other. If this happens, it can put a strain on the day with one partner feeling guilty and one partner feeling overvalued. This is easily avoidable if you talk about it first.

Don’t just give gifts in the morning and then go about your day. Buy a few small gifts rather than one big one, and then you will be able to spread the romance out through the whole of the day.

Go out. Or stay in. Whatever you choose to do, just make sure that you have something a little bit special planned. If you go out, then everything is sorted for you. If you stay in, make sure the house is nice and tidy, make sure that it is had candles and roses, and most of all make sure that you’re going to cook something nice for your partner that they will appreciate.

Don’t forget that there are things that you can give as gifts which you don’t have to pay anything for. If your partner likes to relax in the bath but never gets the chance to do so because you have children, make them some “quiet night” vouchers that they can trade in any time in the next few months, where you will take care of the children for two hours while they have some time to themselves. You can add things like massage vouchers or meal out vouchers which they can also cash in whenever they like.

The little touches make all the difference. It is often the things that you don’t think are worth bothering about that have the best effect. If you are giving your partner a card, then why not include a couple of photos of your favourite times in the past, or a few paragraphs about what you think about her.

No matter which of these tips you choose to take, the most important thing to remember is that Valentine’s Day only comes around once a year. It is worth making your partner feel special, but you shouldn’t forget that you need to make them feel special all year round as well!

Choose organic or nonorganic vegetables?

Is it true that organic food is more nutritious? Some studies do suggest that food produced from processing naturally have a higher security level than the food products that use chemicals. The rise of organic food production in recent years was driven by consumers who are aware of it.

A. More secure
In plain difficult to distinguish between organic and nonorganic food. The easiest way is to notice and certainly the presence or absence of organic labels on products to buy.

Organic food is treated with a very different way than conventional food products. Not only free of the chemical elements (pesticides, fertilizers, hormones, drugs), but also must meet the international requirements specified.

Meku demikaian organic fruits and vegetables are not guaranteed free from sources of disease (viral or bacterial). Organic vegetables have a higher risk of congenital menularkanpenyakit, because it is usually washed with water nonklorida. Plain water is considered not capable of killing bacteria and viruses that attach to the vegetables and fruits.

2. Nutrient-rich
Some penelitain show that organic foods have higher nutrient content than conventional products. The study, overseen by Chris Aleson, President of the Organics Retailers and Growers Association of Australia, shows the level of calcium, potassium, magnesium, sodium, iron, and zinc in organic vegetables 10 percent higher.

One cause of the high content of nutrients in organic products is due to the radiation experienced by non-organic products. The radiation beam is used to preserve the conventional products in addition to killing germs and bacteria are also destroyed some of the components of chemical molecules and turn them into free radicals.

Other studies, showing the content of vitamin A, B complex, C, E, and K in the irradiated vegetables was reduced to 80 percent. Organic products do not allow preservation techniques with chemicals.

Furthermore, this is not really needed. Some even claim that organic growers of organic vegetables last longer. Nutrient content is also a result of organic farming soils are more fertile and well maintained. Pesticides used in conventional farming destroy the enzyme-producing microbes that plants need vitamins.

Valentine’s day is coming, and you’ve been wondering what to do on that day without your loved one?

Hey, cheer up! There were so many fun things to do on Valentine’s day, even when you’re single.

Some single friends might ask you out to join them. If you really want to hang out with them, that’s great. You need to have some fun. But if you don’t feel like you want to go out, then don’t force yourself to get out, just to pretend that you’re having fun on Valentine’s day. In that case, start your Valentine’s celebration even earlier, starting on the day before it, by shopping around to collect the things which you might need to indulge yourself in the next day, such as hobby/craft supplies, DVDs or others, and make sure that healthy food is one of them.

Now that Valentine’s day is around, it is the perfect time to say “I Love You”, so be kind to yourself. If want to express it so badly to others, why don’t you express it to yourself first? Find out which part of you deserve to be loved, whether it is your personality, or other good qualities, and love yourself for those positive qualities.

Crying over past is the worst way to celebrate Valentine’s day. That way, learn from it, and find a way to cheer you up. Such as:

Watching you favorite movies.

Listening to your favorite musics, or even singing and dancing with it.

Make a list of things you’ve accomplished, and read it. Don’t forget to put this note on the wall, next to your bed, desk, or anywhere which might catch your attention to read it again and again.

Read something which you might need to learn.

Last but not least; Get real. Valentine’s day is just like any other days within a year.

Raw Foods, Healthy?

Without us knowing, we often put poison into the body through the food consumed each day. Keep in mind, the food that goes into our bodies contain chemicals and preservatives. The ingredients that go into food intentionally through the manufacturing process, or during the process of planting such as insecticides, pesticides, and the like are given the farmers when to plant crops.

Pollution in food is due to the harmful substances in food. In the flesh of animals, harmful substances in it is the antibiotics and hormones. Both substances are typically injected in order to more quickly cut the chicken or the egg-laying.

In plants or vegetables are also the same, namely the provision of insecticides and pesticides by farmers. Usually the residues of chemical substances will be deposited on vegetables. If the vegetables we eat every day, then the residue will settle in the human body. Other hazardous substances is a preservative commonly found in foods such as salted fish, tofu, meatballs, and so forth. Not to mention the presence of formalin in a particular food.

Hazardous substances contained in foods if it enters the body will cause the growth of free radicals increases. Free radicals will damage the proteins, enzymes, and genetic materials that are the core where the DNA is formed. Mutations in the nuclei of these cells can cause cancer.

According to the world, more than 90% of modern man died of the disease and more than 90% of abnormal cells (cancer cells) caused by the polluted environment through food and drinks. In America, one in three people affected by cancer and every one in five people die of cancer.

Solutions to overcome this is to return to natural foods without chemicals and preservatives. However, it is still quite difficult to do. What can be done is to eat raw food or raw foods, like vegetables and fruits are not cooked, but cleanliness is maintained. These foods will provide nutrients for the body because of its rich enzymes, chlorophyll, vitamins, minerals, and fitronutrien which serves as a natural antioxidant.

Through antioxidant systems, both the enzyme and nonenzim, our body is able to protect themselves and fight free radicals. Antioxidant enzymes including superoxide dismutase (SOD), caralase, and glutathione peroxidase which will convert free radicals into oxygen and water which will then be removed from the body.

Hello friends, when you think of winter, you tend to imagine..
snow, fireplace, sleet on roads, frost and blizzards, icy roads,
etc..

feedback please.

And, don’t get me started on the insulation issues. And you make sure the drive way

is cleared every morning. The weather forecast is calling for more snow or the temp. going

down even further. Your local schools are closed because of sever weather dangers.

Your furnace can’t keep up. Making sure your car still runs during the winter.

Maintaining the car during the hardest of winter/snow, frost,.

Can’t forget those delicious crock-pot soups.. vegetable, stew, chicken and vegetable,..

Lots of Hot coco,. Warm gloves, Warm flavored oatmeal,.

Motivational music in the background, humor as well. Bonding with family and friends

while having a snow party in your neighborhood,.

If you get snow bound. How to avoid your front door from getting covered from the snow

or jams from the ice,. If it gets too cold from (-20 or lower) can home windows shatter?

Or can lawns die if the snow last longer than quoted.

Its always good to make a neighborhood meet for times like this. Everybody watches

out for each other. Specially when the cold or flu hits.

Lots of insulated thick clothes on hand. Well maintained snow trackers,.

Snow boots, hooded lined coats. Low cost insulation on hand in-case.

Other ways of keeping your home warm without turning on your heater to warm each room.

Consider: ideas from www.lowes.com or www.home-depot.com. Google search for suggestions

as well. Also, keep in mind the weather can change moods as well. Beings its not as warm and

the sun does not come out as much. Possibly winter blues can occur. Keeping a positive out look

is recommended, possibly consider attending your local church a great way of community outreach.

And your local food bank, etc. http://www.walmart.com and possibly www.amazon.com can

possibly help. Ex-specially in the clearance department. Suggestion: free shipping programs,.

And, making sure the refund or exchange programs,. Always keep your receipts after any purchase

Thank you for check’n out my blog.. feedback please.

Hello Friends, As we all know Valentines day is Feb. 14 I believe that falls on a Wednesday or Thursday. Plenty of time to create some festive, wow factor gifts. From home-made gifts,. Not to mention the get in the mood Valentines-day greeting card, the location,. Most importantly these famous words are vital on Valentines day.. "Happy Valentines day honey" or "Happy Valentines day mom/ dad/ etc" doesn't who as long as you love them...

Hinting to all the “couples” out here. Girlfriends and boyfriends, wife’s and husbands..

Asking lots of questions is good, however, you may tend to forget some here and

there answers they may give you. Depending on the situation,. Its always recommended

to ask them there Valentine wish list. Including their favorite restaurants, places in town like

lakes, piers,.. they love to go to. Their favorite foods they like. What they would love for

you to give them.

As we know showing lots of attention, being sympathetic when the times come, showing affection,

Being available at a moments notice if need be. For all you married couples making love (ALOT)

Lots of foreplay before you make love makes that moment even more memorable.

While you are in the dating process.. NEVER have sex. That is not in my opinion a part of

the dating process. You are just getting to know that person. If you find that you are

sexually attracted to that person. Make sure you have more in common than just that.

Possibly making your relationship a non sexual in the dating process may help your

relationship at first. Saving yourselves for the honeymoon. Where you both find

yourselves where you can bear to live without the other person. You think of them

all the time. Because if you the both of you can’t communicate or be good listeners or etc

the marriage won’t last.

On the day of Valentines day.. start by treating your honey (husband or wife) to a breakfast

a different type of breakfast.. if you both choice to make love before it. so be it.

Or you both want to make love in other room or if you have a covered patio or back yard..

then make love there. Just remember you can’t make any satisfactional sounds of pleaser

beings you may not be the only ones out side.

If you decide to make love in a restaurant make sure no one is looking at you possibly and go

to either sex bathroom and make love in one of the bathroom stalls. Being quiet when you do.

Then celebrate that moment by presenting that person with a/’s heart warming gift/’s.

You will probably want to eat after that.

Then whip out the list your honey made and ask them. And, give them a choices on what they

want to do. If you are a (husband) as your wife tells you grab the flowers and hand them

to her. Prearrange a romantic forplay appetizer to come to the table with flowers on the

tray. And, both of your favorite song in the background.

Bringing a camcorder with you to capture every moment.

Suggestions:

roses,

flowers,

an outfit prearranged for that special place..

a valentines list

a book, video, audio, etc on the many ways to making love memorable (married couples)

Valentines card

lingerie (skimpier the better) (married couples)

a “very” romantic room

Valentine’s day food

Valentines day make love food (married couples)

Valentines day gifts.. (wish list)

When you make love (married couple) reassuring your husband or wife how can you

please that person. Possibly talk sexually dirty. Yell in satisfaction out loud.

Move around where ever you are. Carefully spank them. Calling there name as you

make love to them. Complimenting them as you are making love to them. By saying

you are awesome. Always kissing them and etc.

ALso, keep in mind you can also treat your mom, dad or etc to a Valentine’s day event

as well. Showing them how important they are to you. It can also be a friend, Uncle

etc. Anyone you love.

It is just for couples (married or dating) anymore. Just a matter of adjusting your

gifts and etc ideas.

Thank you for checking out my blog’s. Please rate then and feedback on them, Sharing

them is also recommended as well, make them go viral, please. If you are on facebook or etc.. feel free.

Never have an ordinary day my friends, make everyday as special as possible. You

are awesome and should always treat yourself and others around with love and

compassion.
