The United States of America has produced remarkable names that helped and made America a great and powerful nation of the world. They became the presidents of the USA like:

The present President Barack Obama – he is the 44th presidents of the United States of America. He is a left-handed person who leads the country and the millions Americans. He was born on August 4, 1961. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, he is the first African American to hold the office. He previously served as a United States Senator from Illinois, from January 2005 until he resigned following his victory in the 2008 presidential election.

The former President Bill Clinton – he was born on August 19, 1946. He is a left-handed person – an American politician who served as the 42nd President of the United States from 1993 to 2001. He was the third-youngest president. He took office at the end of the Cold War and was the first president of the baby boomer generation. President Clinton has been described as a New Democrat. Many of his policies have been attributed to a centrist Third Way philosophy of governance, while on other issues his stance was center-left.

The former President George H. W. Bush Senior – he was born on June 12, 1924. He is a left-handed person - an American politician who served as the 41st President of the United States from 1989 to 1993. He had previously served as the 43rd Vice President of the United States from 1981to 1989, a congressman, an ambassador, and Director of Central Intelligence. He was born in Milton, Massachusetts, to Senator Prescott Bush and Dorothy Walker Bush. Graduating in 1948, he moved his family to West Texas and entered the oil business, becoming a millionaire by the age of 40.

The former President Reagan was born in Tampico in Whiteside County, Illinois and educated at Eureka College in Eureka, Illinois, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and sociology. He began a career as an actor, first in films and later television, appearing in over 50 movie productions. Reagan served as president of the Screen Actors Guild and later spokesman for General Electric; his start in politics occurred during his work for GE. He was born on February 6, 1911 – a left-handed and was the 40th President of the United States from 1981 to 1989, the 33rd Governor of California from 1967 to 1975.

The former President Gerald Ford – he was born on July 14, 1913 – a left-handed. He was the 38th President of the United States, serving from 1974 to 1977, and the 40th Vice President of the United States serving from 1973 to 1974. As the first person appointed to the vice-presidency under the terms of the 25th Amendment after Spiro Agnew had resigned, when he became President upon Richard Nixon’s resignation on August 9, 1974, he became the only President of the United States who was never elected President nor Vice-President by the Electoral College.

From America, let’s check Costa Rica. This country has also produced a president who is also a left-handed person. She is President Laura Chinchilla. She was born on 28 March 1959 – a Costa Rican politician and the first female President of Costa Rica. She was one of Óscar Arias Sánchez’s two Vice-Presidents and his administration’s Minister of Justice. She was the governing PLN candidate for President in the 2010 general election, where she won with 46.76% of the vote. She is the sixth woman to be elected president of a Latin American country and the first woman to become president of Costa Rica. She was sworn as president of Costa Rica on May 8, 2010.

From Costa Rica to Ireland. Former Ireland’s Prime Minister, Brian Cowen, is left-handed. He was born on 10 January 1960 and is a former Irish politician who served as Taoiseach of Ireland from 7 May 2008 to 9 March 2011. He was head of a coalition government led by Fianna Fáil which until 23 January 2011 had the support of the Green Party and independent TDs. Cowen was also leader of Fianna Fáil from 7 May 2008 until 22 January 2011, when he resigned under political pressure after a failed and highly controversial attempt at a cabinet reshuffle.

From Ireland to Israel. Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is left-handed. He was born on October 21, 1949 and is the current Prime Minister of Israel. He serves also as the Chairman of the Likud Party, as a Knesset member, as the Health Minister of Israel, as the Pensioner Affairs Minister of Israel and as the Economic Strategy Minister of Israel. Netanyahu is the first and, to date, only Israeli prime minister born in Israel. Netanyahu joined the Israeli Defense Forces in 1967 where he served as a team leader in the Sayeret Matkal Special Forces unit, taking part in many missions including Operation Gift and the hostage rescue mission from the hijacked Sabena Flight 571 in 1972, where he was shot in the shoulder.

Now let’s go to UK. Prince William was born on 21 June 1982 – a left-handed and is the elder son of Charles, Prince of Wales, and the late Diana, Princess of Wales, and third eldest grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. He is second in the line of succession, behind his father, to the thrones of sixteen independent sovereign states known as the Commonwealth realms: the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, Barbados, the Bahamas, Grenada, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Belize, Antigua and Barbuda, and Saint Kitts and Nevis.

Another from England a lefty musician Tom Milsom has released a new single under the persona of “Tommy Firefly”. It is a cover of a David Bowie song with Tom on vocals, ukulele and accordion. Tom is 18 and lives just outside London, England. He has been a talented musician and creative writer since a very early age and has recently completed A Levels including Music and Music Technology. He is currently taking a year off of studying before going to university in England to study Creative Music Technology. In that year, he is bringing together some of his music and lyrics into finished songs that can be distributed to his many followers around the world. He may even sell some to generate some income to pay for University and the instruments and equipment needed to develop his musical career.

Cowboys And AliensThe Old West.. where a lone cowboy leads an uprising against a terror from beyond our world. 1873. Arizona Territory. A stranger with no memory of his past stumbles into the hard desert town of Absolution. The only hint to his history is a mysterious shackle that encircles one wrist. What he discovers is that the people of Absolution don’t welcome strangers, and nobody makes a move on its streets unless ordered to do so by the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde (Ford). It’s a town that lives in fear. But Absolution is about to experience fear it can scarcely comprehend as the desolate city is attacked by marauders from the sky. Screaming down with breathtaking velocity and blinding lights to abduct the helpless one by one, these monsters challenge everything the residents have ever known. Now, the stranger they rejected is their only hope for salvation. As this gunslinger slowly starts to remember who he is and where he’s been.
Watch Cowboys and Aliens

FILM REVIEW – COWBOYS AND ALIENS 2011

Spoiler space warnings. An unexpectedly excellent fusion of Western and science fiction genres. This could easily have been played for laughs, i.e., Blazing Saddles Meets Independence Day, but instead it runs like The Searchers with an alien invasion at its core.

Daniel Craig awakes in the New Mexico desert with amnesia and a strange bracelet on his wrist that he can’t remove. He is a variation on the Spaghetti Western hero – the man who can’t remember his own name.

He stumbles into a small-dilapidated town called Absolution, a name that gives some clue to the fates of its inhabitants. Absolution grew from the gold rush, but with few findings, it is in a sorry state. Craig’s stranger arrives as a young man is trying to start his own protection racket, and Craig assaults him.

A mysterious lady seems to know something of Craig and his wristband, but he is uncooperative. As a result of the earlier fight, the sheriff, played by Keith Carradine, arrests both Craig and the young thug. Word of this attracts the younger man’s father, a brutal no-nonsense cattle baron, played by Harrison Ford, a complex figure given to violence despite being sickened by war, having seen battles that ended in bloodshed. When he learns of his son’s arrest he is investigating an attack on his cattle drovers, which the only survivor describes as a demonic attack. Ford doesn’t believe him and has him dragged away through the desert tied to a horse set to gallop off.

As Ford tries to liberate his son, and Craig is recognized as a notorious, and murderous gold stealing outlaw, alien spaceships decimate the town, and kidnap several towns-people including Ford’s son. Craig’s wrist-band proves to be weapon, much even to his surprise and he shoots down an alien ship, but its pilot escapes, though wounded, and runs off into the desert. The men of the town form a posse to give pursuit. The mysterious girl, (Olivia Wilde) insists on joining them, and the search begins in earnest, with Craig forced along due to his wrist weapon.

As the quest progresses, Craig remembers more. He was abducted along with his wife, after stealing his gang’s gold. The aliens killed his wife, incinerating her, but he escaped, taking the weapon, which an alien rashly left right beside him, but lost his memory in the fight to break free.

After encounters with Craig’s vengeful gang, the aliens attack the decimated posse, plagued by death and desertion, and the girl is injured, apparently dying. Her death unites Ford and Craig in their mutual sorrow and they begin to like and trust one another though this is no buddy movie.

Captured by an Indian tribe who blame them for the alien attacks, the conflicting sides are united when the Indians throw the dead girl on their funeral pyre fire, and she comes back to life. She too is alien and came to warn us of what the invaders did to her World. They are out to take our gold, which fuels their ships. When the Indians get him stoned on Mescaline, Craig remembers fully where he escaped from – the alien Mother ship, being used as a drilling rig in a nearby canyon. Indians, townsmen, outlaws, and Craig lead an assault on the vessel, drill machine to rescue their people, and surprisingly, it is Wilde who commits the ultimate sacrifice in staying behind to blow up the alien ship as it takes flight. She uses Craig’s now detached wristband as a bomb. Quite why the aliens were dumb enough to let this powerful thing out of their sight is un-stated. The explosion looks oddly akin to that of the Space Shuttle Challenger in 1986.

Absolution finds its absolution. The gold makes them prosperous and peaceful. Ford’s errant son is one of the few still in memory loss so Ford seems intent to bring him up well than before. Only Craig leaves. Empty handed, with his wife and new alien girlfriend both dead. Only his outlaw status is removed, with Ford and the Sheriff prepared to claim that he died in the mine explosions. I half expected a post credit sequence of Wilde being resurrected again but there is no such event. A thoughtful deep film, with lots of action, working superbly in both genres.

The film on Wikipedia – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cowboys_%26_Aliens_%28film%29

Ramblings of Lord Banks on a Wednesday morning you have been warned!

Not another bloody morning!

Lord Banks waked up at 7.30am and gets out of bed and puts on his night gown and goes into the bathroom. He takes off the robe and runs in some hot water for a shave. LB looks in the mirror as he leans on the edge of the sink. He see’s big forearms a legacy of working on cars for 27 years. He squeezes them and notices where muscle once was it is now going flabby!

He see’s two Gold chains around his neck they cost around £1,500 probably worth the same with the price of Gold now. He see four days growth of beard mostly black but a few gray’s sneaking in. He muse’s ‘forget it shave tomorrow just wash, I won’t see anyone today’ LB walks down stairs and opens the blinds. Its raining and cold but it is June in England so that is quite normal.

LB goes out on his crutches to inspect the his Ford for damage? Car theft and vandalism in south Yorkshire accounts for 63% of all reported crime! He cant see any obvious damage. He thinks as he returns to his Victorian Terraced Miners house ‘Four slashed tyres and dented bonnet, a scratched bonnet and a scratched drivers door. Maybe the vandals are bored with my Ford as its nine years old now its probably not worth vandalising? Umm I hope so!’

LB takes twelve pills for pain and various other health problems, he swigs them down with half a pint of semi skimmed milk. He stares at the Rhubarb diet yogurt and muse’s ‘Umm how bloody appetising! A dairy product the size of a fun sized Mars Bar and its devoid of any goodness so its slimming’ LB eats the yogurt although his appetite was killed by the twelve pills that are dissolving in his Stomach.

LB opens his emails and deletes eleven immediately as spam. The phone rings it’s a Solicitor who says,

“Ah Mr Banks we have looked at your claim for Medical negligence by the NHS hospital and to be honest its not something we get involved in”

LB replies,

“I’m confused your online advert says and Medical injury or neglect cases can be fought on a No win No fee basis. So what’s wrong with my case please tell me?”

The Solicitor replies,

“Oh its nothing personal we just are not interested in this case for you”

LB tries another tack,

“Ok I accept that, however please tell me why you cant fight this case as per your advertisement so I can learn and approach different solicitors?”

“I’m sorry Mr Banks its not our policy to tell you why we won’t represent you”

LB replies,

“That’s just plain bad practise and customer service! And by the way its Lord Banks it clearly says it on my letter”

“Oh I’m sorry Lord Banks I took your name as a joke”

“Thanks a bunch I find your company a joke! Have a nice day claiming for cut off fingers at £2,000 a pop! Bye”

LB opens up his Triond account to look for his works downward progress. Yes 99 hits in a 24 hr period! Two months ago the average was 275 hit’s a day! This down turn is all because ‘Google’ has taken a stand against ‘Content Farms’ as they are so called and refuse to include their articles on Google searches.

LB muse’s again ‘Shall I write today? What’s the point 99 people world wide will read an article or short story of mine! Its takes me two hours to write a short story or article and edit it’ LB looks at the blank Microsoft Word document and the cursor is flashing at the top! Its waiting for LB to tap the keys. He further thinks, ‘So what are you going to do if you don’t write big fella? Go for a jog! Go swimming! Or meet some friends for a chat?’ LB is talking to himself in his mind he replies to himself ‘No can’t jog Titanium hips they may pop out. Can’t swim only front crawl as breast stroke will pop out my new hips! My friends are all at work so I can’t meet them, if I could how can I buy a drink on Disability benefit? So sit there and bloody write something!’

The cursor seems to be flashing faster mocking LB! Its saying,

“Write come on don’t just sit there staring into space write God Damn it!”

LB is stumped as to what to write. This happens to all writers its called ‘Writers Block’ but LB hasn’t got that he has Depression. LB muse’s ‘I’ll write about my day? Its not creative but it may help others to see maybe they are not so badly off as they think? Also it gets it off my chest. Plus someone always tells me of a relative who is worse off than me and to stop feeling sorry for myself! Trouble is all this does is make me feel sorry for the poor individual who is worse off than me. This does not motivate me to shake off the dark moods’

The week is stretched out ahead of LB. Thursday drive to the Doctors and pick up prescription for more and more drugs! LB thinks ‘More money out of my over drawn bank account yeah great! When the chemist hands over the carrier bag of drugs she will say,

“My Mr Banks you have got a lot of drugs! Have you 5 minutes to come into my office and discuss your prescriptions with me?”

LB answers,

“I took you up on your offer last time we examined every drug and you said ‘You need them all good luck Mr Banks’ don’t you remember? You should make a note on my file that you have already discussed this then you won’t feel embarrassed by asking me the same question every month I come in here?”

LB hates Friday’s in particular because the day used to mean so much to him. It meant perhaps going out for a drink after work with colleagues. Perhaps sitting in a pub garden and cracking jokes to release the stress of working in a busy insurance call centre. Or getting a delivery meal to the house and drinking a nice bottle of wine or even two. Then staying up after midnight watching a half decent movie.

LB muse’s ’Friday, Monday, Wednesday, their all the same to me now makes not one scrap of difference what day of the week it is. Life seems like a giant clock, Tick Tock, Tick Tock, the hands unfold clockwise slowly. Hours blend into days, days blend into weeks, weeks blend into months, months blend into years. When was I told I wasn’t fit to work? Oh yes October 2007 it will be four years in four months! Its stretching ahead like a prison sentence’

LB is definitely on a downer today this isn’t good the moods are getting darker and his behaviour more bizarre by the week! LB continues to muse, ‘The Burst stomach Ulcer was caused by Gastro Pain killers so I’m banned from them for life now as my stomach lining is permanently damaged and weakened. So the strong Gastro tablets are gone I am left in more pain then ever with my spine I’m travelling backwards in recovery! I asked the Doctor for a stronger pain killers that doesn’t affect my stomach lining she said,

“I’m sorry Mr Banks just take eight x Tramadol a day and 8x Paracetomal with them that will help and not affect your stomach lining”

LB continues with his self pitying inner ramblings! ’I am prescribed Pantoprazole drug which kills off most of the stomach acid so it doesn’t eat away at the stomach lining. Trouble is it takes longer for the stomach to break down food! So its recommended I chew my food longer and eat foods that break down easier than say Steak or any meats! Great there goes any thought of going to a restaurant! I feel like Robocop! Made of metal and eats baby food!

Now that Robocop thought made LB smile! Yeah a God Damn smile! He thinks on, ‘Yeah Robo-Lord! Or Robo-Writer! Yes either will do! I can drive the streets crime fighting in Yorkshire! Arresting people for wearing flat caps! And going on about closed mines all day yeah! Robo-Lord!’

Then the reality of turning slightly mad dawns on LB. He muse’s ‘God do I need a holiday! Or a session with a Shrink! These thoughts are madness! Robo-Lord in his Ford Vandalised Mondeo eating baby food and saying

“Hold it right there creep! Take off that flat cap and step two paces away from it! You ever mention the pit or Arthur Scargill again let alone Margaret Thatcher I’m taking you in ! That is of course if you don’t mind walking over to my patrol Mondeo and sitting in the back because I cant chase you I’m on crutches you see, and have hip implants and I’m not surpassed to get excited it makes stomach acid you see mate”

LB just decides to write down the inane ramblings and put them forward for publication through Triond! They will publish the depressive ramblings that is part of the reason why Google has turned on Triond and other content farms there is no quality of editing its left to the writers conscience?

Lord Banks

A neighborhood is only a neighborhood when people decide to be kind and courteous to each other. Not when they decide to take over.

A neighborhood is only a neighborhood when people decide to be kind and courteous to each other. Not when they decide to take over.

I have some neighbors from hell who think that they can start stuff with me simply because I told them I was a Christian when I moved in ten years ago. I mean these people think the word Christian must equal weakness so they have done many things to try me over the years. They have piled up cat shit in a flag formation and put it outside my door and I have thrown it back onto their door.

They have done things to damage my property and I have returned the favor for you see if I cannot live in peace then neither can you. It all started when I first moved in and my neighbor told me that she had a mother that was a Christian who was constantly praying for her salvation and she didn’t like that because after all she was a short, petite, pretty Caucasian blonde with a hot body and she was a party girl. She didn’t want to be a Christian because then she couldn’t drink alcohol, party and have sex like she wanted to. Her mother died when she was in her twenties so she died before she could see her daughter get her act together.

So the girl lived her wild life as a teen and grew up into her late 40’s and then she set her sights on an older man who owned an Italian pizzeria. Now, she had to fight to get acceptance by his family as they didn’t want her around unless she was pregnant as they correctly thought that she was a gold digger. She never had any children except for the baby girl that she carried for her son in law whose wife couldn’t have children of her own. Now before she had the baby she was thin and petite and after she had the baby she blew up to over 300 pounds and she is a real larda*s today.

Okay so the two of them have been living in the trailer park for at least 15 years now and because they have been here a long time they sometimes need to be reminded of how things work around here, otherwise they will just try to take over. So here is what happened there was another neighbor who was directly in front of me who moved out temporarily to allow his brother-in-law who is a handyman to come over from time to time to do repairs on the house. So since they saw that the original tenant was gone, they decided that they were going to take his parking spot.

Again, they had no right to do that but they decided they were going to take their second car and park it in his parking spot not realizing or not caring that there was another man who was going to need to get in and out of that spot to do repairs on the house. So I was doing some work outside the house and the new neighbor asks me do you know about this green car parked here? I said yes that is so and so’s car and they live right here in that trailer over there. So then I said do you have a ladder I could borrow as I need to get up higher to reach something and he said sure.

So I borrowed a step ladder from him and when I went to return it I said can I come in I want to talk to you about that green car parked out there in your parking spot. So I go in and I said Maureen and Karl like to “alpha dog” the new people in the neighborhood and they really don’t have the right to use that parking spot. That green car is supposed to be parked down by the water in the waterfront parking lot as that is where it was parked before they just decided to take that spot. So right now you are parked in their parking spot and when they come back you need to refuse to get out of their spot until they move that green car out of your parking spot. You should think about spending the night and holding that parking spot hostage so that they can’t get into their beloved parking spot.

So then the guy says, well I don’t know the arrangement that they may have had with Joe but I left them a note on their door. Now Joe is the brother-in-law that moved out temporarily to allow this new guy to work on the house. So I said he didn’t have an agreement with Joe, they just decided to take over that parking spot and you need to stay in that spot until he removes that green car from your spot as you have to have access and egress to your house.

Now Karl has a new truck that he just purchased in 2010 and it makes this hideous beep beep beep sound as a part of the back up sensors when it is backing up. Karl just lives to make all this noise in the neighborhood to announce that he has arrived. Karl is an older man who looks and walks like a little organ grinder monkey. Anyway this guy lives to make all that unnecessary noise while backing up.

So Karl comes home and makes his usual noise with the backup sensors and doesn’t park in his spot because the new neighbor was parked in his spot so I am in my house with a view on all the action because just minutes before I told the new neighbor to stand his ground and not move his car. Also I told him to hold his spot hostage. So I noticed that Karl did not have the nerve to knock on the new neighbor’s door and ask him to move his car he just parked in another spot and went on inside the house. Don’t you know the new guy moved his car as soon as he heard Karl’s loud backup sensors without making him remove the green car from his spot in spite of the fact the I had just told him how Karl and Maureen like to haze the new people in the neighborhood and cause problems with the new neighbors. I mean you would have to have lived here for a while to know that that green car was supposed to be parked down by the water NOT in his parking spot.

These people had no right to just get in there and take someone else’s parking spot. Who do they think they are?! I tried to help the guy because I know how they like to alpha dog the new people in the neighborhood but my feeling is if I go out of my way to help you and I tell you what to do and you don’t do it then that makes me look stupid! If he wasn’t going to stand his ground then why did he ask me if I knew anything about the green car parked in his parking spot to begin with?! I even had to tell this guy that Karl didn’t have an agreement with Joe they just took over that parking spot and they had no right to do so! I mean how thick are you to not get that fact? I dunno…

Anti-Semitism is the oldest hatred. It is universal and cuts across societies, cultures, and religious belief, and can be traced through time. It appears in literature, is reflected in music, and has become a part of folklore. Stories of the rapacious Jew, the dirty Jew, the lascivious Jew, and the murdering Jew have at times been the common currency of belief. Some still hold these views now. Yet it is a myth. The Jews have been the convenient scapegoats of history. At the turn of the nineteenth century a book appeared that seemed to provide proof of everything that had previously been held to be true. Prejudice would now become political and it would provide the justification for much of the horror that was to follow.

The Protocols of the (Learned) Elders of Zion, were the the brainchild of Piotr Ivanovich Rachkovsky, Chief of the Russian Secret Police in Paris. It plagiarised, in some places almost word for word, a French play by Maurice Joly titled “The Dialogue in Hell between Machiavelli and Montesque”, a critique of the rule of Louis Napoleon III, and had first appeared in print in the Russian Empire around 1903. It had long been common practice for the Authorities in Russia to scapegoat the Jews for the problems that afflicted the Empire. Pogroms against them were a fairly regular occurrence and were carried out by overtly anti-Semitic organisations such as the Black Hundreds, who acted with the tacit approval of the Russian Government. So when the Protocols claimed to depict a verbatim report of a global Jewish conspiracy it was readily believed. Though it has since been proven to be a forgery it is still believed by many and remains in print to this day.

The Jews were already the world’s pariah people long before the publication of the Protocols. There were few horrors for which they had not been held responsible. First tainted in the Bible as Christ-killers around 167 AD, it had since been popularly held among Christians that King Herod and the Jewish High Priest Caiaphas had conspired to have Jesus executed whilst the Roman Governor Pontius Pilate washed his hands of all responsibility. The Cruxifiction was not enough to quench their thirst for Christian blood however, and it was widely believed that they regularly kidnapped, tortured, and murdered Christian children to use their blood during the celebration of their holy days. Two of the most famous examples were said to be the murder of William of Norwich in 1144, and Hugh of Lincoln in 1255.

The Jews have often been widely loathed for being mean and rapacious. This reputation derives largely from the Christian Church’s ban on usury. Usury is the charging of interest on loans and the Third Lateran Council of March, 1179, decreed that any Christian who charged interest on loans could neither receive the Sacraments nor have a Christian burial. Pope Clement V, reinforced this policy by declaring usury a heresy in 1311. The Jewish faith also bans usury but only within its own community. Banned from most other professions around Europe those Jews very quickly filled the void created by the Christian embargo on usury and became bankers, pawnbrokers, and moneylenders. It wasn’t long before they became both essential to medieval life and widely despised.

In 1276, Edward I, King of England, became the first ruling Monarch to force Jews to wear a yellow patch on their clothing to distinguish them from their fellow Englishmen. This was a time of great trauma for the Jews of Europe as they were expelled from France by King Louis IX in 1254, from England in 1290, and by Ferdinand and Isabella from Spain in 1492. On each occasion their money and property was confiscated. But they were lucky to escape with their lives, many others were not so fortunate and the massacre of entire Jewish communities were commonplace.

The forgery that were the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and their subsequent publication were just the latest in a long history of Jewish persecution; but now the persecutions would no longer be the result of hatred, envy, and religious bigotry alone. The Jews, it was said, were actively conspiring to world domination. It would not be enough to simply expel them from a country, or hide them from the minds eyes. They had to be eliminated altogether.

By the early 1920’s the Protocols had been widely circulated and were believed by many to be the verbatim report of an annual meeting of Jewish elders to discuss their progress towards global domination they professed to be. When they stated that ” the Goyim (Gentiles) are sheep, and we (the Jews) are the wolves. And you know what happens when the wolves get amongst the flock.” Many powerful men now found justification for their often latent anti-Semitism and sought to find political ways to be able to eradicate this cancer upon the body of mankind. The consequences of which would become inevitable and horrendous.

The American industrialist Henry Ford (who made the first mass-produced motorcar, the Model T. Ford, and became a billionaire as a result) personally financed the printing of 500,000 copies of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion which he distributed free to his workers and around the world. He also disseminated anti-Semitic propaganda in a series of articles in his own newspaper The Dearborn Independent. In 1921, he insisted to anyone who would listen that the Protocols were proof of the Jewish threat to world peace and evidence of the Jewish conspiracy to take over the world. In 1927, he was taken to Court where he denied that he had ever been the author of the articles and denied that he was in any respect anti-Semitic. Though when questioned later he said that all he knew was that, ” the Protocols were sixteen years old and had fitted the world situation up to this time.” Despite his retraction he remained a hero of the young Adolf Hitler who kept a photograph of Henry Ford in his office.

Yet the Protocols were known to be a hoax long before the Trial of Henry Ford. In 1901, Tsar Nicholas II, an enthusiastic anti-Semite, had ordered an Inquiry be carried out into The Protocols origins by his Chief Minister Pyotr Stolypin. When Stolypin reported back that they were in fact a forgery the Tsar ordered that all copies be confiscated remarking, ” A good cause cannot be defended by dirty means.” Though his own copy remained well-thumbed.

In 1921, The Times of London exposed The Protocols to be a forgery once and for all. Its correspondent in Constantinople, Philip Graves discovered it to have been plagiarised almost word for word from the work by Maurice Joly. In a series of damning articles The Times revealed, beyond any reasonable doubt, that The Protocols and any notion of a Global Jewish Conspiracy were a hoax and an absurdity. Yet still many people stubbornly refused to believe it.

Throughout the Nazi regime The Protocols were a standard textbook in German schools. During the 1980’s the anti-Apartheid Movement in South Africa and throughout the world were tarnished as being part of the Jewish Conspiracy as set out in The Protocols; and they are still widely believed to be true by far-right groups in America and are widely disseminated and read in the Middle-East. Even now, it is possible to download a copy of The Protocols from the internet with no explanation as to its origins or covering note to indicate that they were a forgery. A sad and deadly forgery that were used to justify the Holocaust and the mechanised murder of millions of men, women, and children, and even to this day they continue to be used by some to deny that such a Holocaust ever took place.

The invention of the automobile was a great achievement which propelled Americans into the twentieth century. It brought with it new changes to the job market. Production of automobiles in turn allowed many new types of jobs to be created. Material and transportation companies also flourished with the help of this industry. During the 1920s the automotive industry had a great impact on the economy and the lives of the people, and it brought about more jobs with better work conditions and greater opportunities for employees of all companies.

Henry Ford, a pioneer of large scale production, produced a lower priced vehicle for the common person. Ford’s invention of the assembly line helped increase the efficiency of automobile production more so than ever before. The Ford Model T automobile was first sold at a fair price of $850.00, but after Ford began implementing the assembly line the price dropped down to only $290.00 (Kalliney 135). That price gave more medium and lower income families the ability to purchase this vehicle. Those who owned an automobile had more opportunity to work for companies they would not have been able to work for in the past. The distance to travel was no longer impossible to travel.

At Ford Auto Industry, factory employees were paid quite well, and their payment in turn would trickle down through the economy. Back in the 1920s, Henry Ford paid his workers five dollars an hour. The average worker of that era only received about sixty five cents an hour. Overall motivation and self-esteem of the employees increased, for they did not have to worry about financial issues nor the worry of searching for a higher paying job. This happiness also helped increase the quality of the automobiles and led to the lowering of prices due to greater supply.

Since Ford’s auto workers received larger salaries than the average employee, they decided to spend more on other commodities in the economy. These workers, by spending their own earnings to purchase other goods and services, supported other people’s jobs. The automobile industry employees and their families had enough money to buy nicer dress clothes and just about any thing they desired. When the auto laborers spent their salaries, it meant that others were in turn, also earning money, and it eventually, in a cycle, led to people buying more automobiles with that money.

Cars were the best form of transportation in the 1920s and increased an individuals’ ability to be able to get from his home to his job easily. An employee did not have to live close to his job anymore, as automobiles allowed a person to travel longer distances. People could live wherever they pleased and still be able to travel to their job with ease. This provided a worker with better home life conditions and an escape from poverty surroundings.

Many businesses began to increase significantly as many people began buying cars and driving places. As more people began to purchase and drive cars, roads needed to improve to accomodate such large amounts of traffic on them. “New gravel and even concrete highways began replacing almost impassable, rutted dirt roads” (Automobiles 2). Many additional jobs were created for individuals as parking lots, bridges, and highways became necessary to be built. Building roads was another type of employment a person could opt to do out of the vast availability of jobs created by the automobile industry.

So this expanse of opportunity for employment was created because of families driving their vehicles anywhere and everywhere. “Full-service gasoline stations soon made the commodity easily available in all but the most remote parts of the nation” (Automobiles 2). Cars used gasoline to run, and drivers needed to refuel their cars, so gasoline stations started to appear all over the country. “The oil refinery business had doubled since the beginning of the century, and, realizing that the automobile rather than the kerosine lamp could become its meal ticket, the industry began spotting retail outlets” (Cleveland 98).

Automobiles allowed people to drive from their neighborhoods and travel sometimes long distances. People needed a place to eat when they went on trips, as they did not necessarily bring food with them. Restaurants started to become popular as more people wanted a fresh warm meal while on the road. Many jobs were created as restaurants opened. Restaurants did not have to be located in a city. They could be on the road and possibly in the country side, as automobiles brought in paying customers from miles away.

As well as a place to buy a meal while on the road, drivers typically wanted a place to sleep, should their trip be greater than a day. Motels, or another individuals’ homes became a demand, so jobs in the motel industry flourished. Men and women in need of a job could open up their own home as a motel to make money. “Roadside businesses and tourist camps dotted the countryside and outskirts of towns and cities” (Automobiles 2). Also, this was desired because people would not have to leave their house while taking care of travelers. Their business would be independently owned and operated and they would not have to experience poor working conditions.

At the time of the booming automobile industry, jobs were not only created because individuals traveled the country, but also those businesses which produced the materials for the automobile profited too. Steel was one of the main products used to produce automobiles. Due to the demand for more vehicles, more steel was needed, and therefore more steel workers were hired by the steel companies.

Railroads created many jobs, as they needed to transport materials to produce automobiles. Steel, glass, ore, and plastics were all transported by railways to automobile factories. Railroads would also have to carry cars which were manufactured in the automobile factories all over the country where they could be sold. Many companies in the 1920s were affected by the invention of the automobile, and this resulted in the increase in the number of employees at these businesses. “It is estimated that by 1929 one in six jobs in the United States was dependent on auto production” (Olsen 68).

The automobile was a commodity for people in the 1920s, not only because it was a better form of transportation, but also because having it created many jobs. Automobiles brought people the jobs they needed to keep them out of poverty. Unemployment in America at that time was down. The automobile industry was the largest industry in the 1920s and because of it, the economy flourished.

A non bias opinion on job creation. Can we really create enough jobs for our people? If so, how long can we create these jobs? Is there a reason why it is so hard for our nation's economy to bounce back. Just expressing my idea, and looking for comments, response, likes or dislikes, and please feel free to pass article to friends and family.

Food for thought. Can a Nation even as great as ours, really sustain a healthy job production in this new millennium?

This nation is known for its great advances in technology, and how in some cases, the United States leads the world in its technology advances. At the very same time we are known for being the laziest nation. Is it possible we are so good at developing new technology because we are so lazy. If you think about it every invention we’ve created isn’t just for advancement. Our inventions were created to make jobs easier so we as a people don’t have to work so hard. Instead of plowing the fields the old fashioned way, we had to go and create tractors. America was a nation that was number one in the auto industry back in the early 1900s. Chrysler, GM, Ford, Chevrolet were employing millions in massive assembly lines. Now they employ way less due to the fact that they have machines doing a bulk of the work. It is safe to say that as more technology enters the world, manufacturing jobs will disappear along with many other jobs. This can easily mean that the jobs of yesterday, won’t be here tomorrow.

Again, Can a nation even as great as ours, really sustain a healthy job production in this new millennium?

I’m not saying we should remove technology, but I do believe companies should cut back on some technology, and help our nation get healthy and stay healthy. Is it healthy that we would rather save cost, and deny people jobs that can easily be done by humans. Has our major manufacturers and company’s gotten so greedy that they don’t care about workers. The way I see the future, is the jobs will continue to diminish and technology will continuously move in and take away jobs. Can we really blame the government, because they didn’t create as many jobs as they thought? Is it the governments fault, or is it the private markets fault for overwhelming the work force with machines. The private market now holds over $2 trillion in stimulus, meant to spark hiring and job creation, but 80% of businesses are sitting on the money. The Government can’t make a business hire people, it can only ask them to. In truth, who is really at fault for a delayed economic turn around, private business or the Obama Administration?

Should we be focussing on manufacturing products in the U.S more? Should we hold businesses accountable for not holding up their end of the bargain? Or should we stop feeding well needed jobs to machines and thechnology? Wouldn’t you say maybe we should look at all these things to save ourselves from this economic hole we are in.

Just a thought. Comment, rate, tell me if you dislike or like this article, and feel free to utilize all icons on this page. Also, share with friends, maybe we can start some revolutionary thinking about how jobs are handled in the U.S. www.6dollarriches.com

These were pictures from the parade.

I decided to put up some pictures from the Glen Rock 150 Year Anniversary Parade. I took over 650 of them during that day and if anyone wants to see more of them, let me know. I live in the York area and I am “in the book.”

The York Amateur Radio community helped support this parade with communications. The Amateurs came from various clubs and groups including Keystone VHF Club and YARS. We think YACKS is a better name for YARS but we can’t get Walt K3DQB to go along with it. See our suggested logo.

But back to the parade. Glen Rock is in a valley and radio signals don’t get in or out well. But it has a strong history like most other towns in the area. I have included most of the historic units with a little license with ones that caught my fancy.

The Impressive State Police mounted team was there. They did cause a massive traffic jam by blocking a street to unload. I bet if anyone else had tried that the on site state trooper would have run them off. But we did see the governor peeking out from one of the horse trailers. Well, to be honest, we are still debating if it was him or the back of a horse.

Seriously, this unit is impressive no matter where they perform.

DSC_3278-2-24.jpg

Presenting the colors. We always seem to get a picture of the flags but let me do something a little different. Sure Old Glory is impressive and stands out when placed with flags of other nations. Its red is for the blood shed for our freedom. Its white for the purity. The blue for royalty. The fifty stars – which was forty eight when I started grade school in 1949 represent each of the states. Some day I hope to see that number change again to include at least Puerto Rica and maybe American Samoa. I believe every American has the right to be a full fledged American. But follow the next couple pictures because the flag is a symbol of America and let me show you several Americans. These are up close, the ones who carry these flags.

DSC_3285-2-25.jpg

First because he carries the American flag is this man. I believe the uniform is that of a Marine and if there is anyone who has the right to carry it, it is a Marine. I am basing this on the partial insignia I can see on his pocket under his left arm. They have carried it from the Halls of Montezuma to the Sands of Iwo to the Chosen Reservoir to Bagdad and to Afghanistan and a hundred places between.

DSC_3286-2-26.jpg

One of the honor guards is Navy. Thousands of them have pressed the enemy in places like Lake Erie, the North Atlantic, Manila Bay, Leyte Gulf, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq to mention a few. They have taken the war to the enemy from 50,000 feet above the sea to 400 feet below.

DSC_3286-2-27.jpg

I like this picture because it shows the other guard a navy man with the Army to his right. These forces are separate to some degree but they are together with one goal, the safety of our nation. I hope I do not offend the Navy man as I note the gray hair along the cap. His service was years ago and yet today he is on the field, symbolic it may be, but he is still there. He is balanced by the next generation or maybe the next after that behind him.

DSC_3290-2-32.jpg

I see in the man carrying the flag’s face, is it flying high and safe? Surrounded by the Navy and army this man carries the banner. Sure it is one of the organization flags but it represents those who served. It is important. I consider this picture of four men, one guarding the flag in seriousness, two others supporting him and the one carrying it as one of the best I took that day.

DSC_3291-2-33.jpg

This man carries the flag that elicits more emotion for me than any other. It is the POW/MIA flag. Till they all come home. I even see some of that in his face.

DSC_3287-2-28.jpg

I believe the following three flags are of the American Legion (correct me if anyone knows that is wrong). These flags represent organizations of men who have fought. Like Lincoln at Gettysburg, these men have hallowed this above my poor power to add or detract. To each one who has ever taken the oath in the US military, thank you.

One of the older cars in the parade. I am not sure of the age.

DSC_3315-2-35.jpg

I managed to get a picture of the driver.

An impressive Chevy from the early 50’s, I believe 1954. Yes, that was the original color.

I am not sure who Lee Zelley or Roland Seitz were but I bet Roland was somehow an important person in Glen Rock History. BTW, riding that way is hot work on a day like this one.

Again I am not sure who the Heathcote’s were but I bet they were important. This car believe would date to the late 1930’s

I think this was to represent an older time.

DSC_3138-2-2.jpg

This photo was taken before the parade. Note the sign. Glen Rock is only a few miles from the Mason-Dixon line and was actually in the disputed territory. If Lord Baltimore’s claim had held rather than William Penn’s the Maryland line would be somewhere near Route 30 which is about 20 miles north of its current position. York would be in Maryland. For those in the York area the Galleria Mall would be in Maryland but Rocky Ridge park would be in PA. The valley at the south of Dover would the line.

The local Mortuary (Geiple) has a restored horse drawn hearse. The dress would be somewhat like the undertaker (term used then) would have worn. Remember that Glen Rock was an industrial town at one time and not the back woods. If you toured the town and around it you would clearly see that in the buildings.

I had to get a picture so you could see the pretty young lady. I believe this is a unit about a library or bookstore. The outfit is really neat. I do doubt that the red fingernail polish would have been used in that time.

Glen Rock still stands proud on freedom. For those city slickers who don’t recognize the four wheeled cart it is a device farmers use to transport solid waste matter from the barn to the field and spread it for fertilizer. It is called a Manure Spreader and everyone in the neighborhood knows when it is in operation. How I love this. But I thought of it a long time ago. The FIRST picture I posted on Triond on October 29, 2006 was a manure spreader. http://www.picable.com/Transportation/Trucks/Trolley.6664 Check it out. I had the same thought. BTW, there is another of these later in the parade.

Engine 59-1, the Glen Rock pumper. This Fire Department is impressive – and look at the art on the side of the engine. I will tell you what I see here. There is someone in the community who has the talent and cares enough to paint this.

This is Tanker 59. The typical tanker handles about 7-8000 gallons of water. That is 56000 – 64000 pounds. Lots of weight. They don’t move fast. And they can pump 1000 gallons a minute on the fire. That means the tanker lasts 7-8 minutes! And he may have a 30 minute round trip, load, haul, dump, return to fill. It takes lots of tankers to fight a rural fire. The tankers dump into a “swimming pool” they set up near the pumper. I love this artist, whomever he is. Thank you. There is no logo more appropriate for Unit 59 than “Protectors of the Rock”. There is humor here but these guys are serious about what they do.

If you look at southern York County PA you will see a little town over each hill. This Fire Engine is from Fawn Grove.

A nice Chevy Impala. Not sure what year. Nothing reaches out and grabs me with it but somewhere in the mid 1950s sounds good, maybe 1955.

(Note correction from Nate Kirschman.)
That’s 1958. They only made ‘um one year that looked like that. Easier to
figure out looking at either front or rear, figuring it out from the side
requires lots of remembering. ‘57 was the very best Chevy ever, but ‘58
wasn’t far behind. They got ugly in ‘59 – too much fin by then. Impala
had 3 tail lights on each side, other models only had two. ‘58 first year
four headlamps.

I checked for other pictures of the car and lo, it had the four mentioned headlamps. Nice catch Nate. Thanks..

This is Bordbecks Band. Many little towns in PA had bands and many still do today. What you see here is typical, a wide spread of ages. These are an object of community pride – a theme that is played on in the musical, “The Music Man.” Check out the song, “Seventy Six Trombones.”

This Ford is a V8 – see the little V with an 8 above it above the front tire. I believe it is 1949 based on the grille. The 1951 had two bumps, the 50 had a larger one and the 49 had this smaller one. It was jet styling. A little item on the V8 symbol. By 1951 this was moved back to near the driver’s door and below the chrome strip. Also note the rear wheel covers.

Another Manure spreader. I think this bodes badly for incumbent politicians. This one is interesting. While the discharge mechanism on the other one was driven by pulling it and the rear wheels turned it, this one is driven by a Power Take Off (PTO) – see the shaft that goes to the tractor. A shaft is also what politicians give to the rest of us.

This is a historic steam calliope – you can read more about it if you google it. Note the woman and the boiler tender are wearing hearing protection. Look at the size of the boiler. This thing really blows off steam.
