A mother has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for a six year long campaign of abuse against her two youngest children. But is this sentence long enough for a crime which now leaves these children essentially motherless?

It is stories like the following which confirm that some women are not fit to be mothers.

Linda Clappison claims it was on a fortune teller’s word that she took her two youngest children to a gipsy family to become their slaves.

This was only the tip of the iceberg however when it came to the cruelty she subjected her son and daughter, who were six and ten at the time the abuse began, to.

The mother of four children in total, locked her son and daughter in their rooms and regularly assaulted them. She fed them on nothing but sandwiches and took the light bulbs, the mattresses and bedding away. The children were left so cold they had to be treated in hospital for frostbite. She also shaved her daughter’s head five times as punishment.

This abuse went on for six years during which time the children were not allowed to go to school.

Clappison was sentenced to 18 months in prison for two counts of child cruelty. This sentence does not seem nearly long enough. However, the fact is Clappison is obviously not mentally well because no one in their right mind would take the word of a fortune teller as the go ahead to treat her children so cruelly – if this fortune teller even exists of course.

It is surprising her lawyer did not wish to pursue the route that Clappison was mentally unfit, in order to get her out of any prison sentence but it would appear Clappison did not want to be perceived that way.

She also does not even admit any of the charges against her and says her children are liars. She explained her daughter’s shaved head by saying she wanted to look like Britney Spears.

Clappison has said herself that there will be no chance of reconciliation with her children but I think this is a rare case where the children will be better off without their mother, don’t you?

With the Romanian economy in serious trouble, they are trying to raise revenue by instituting taxes on witches and fortune tellers.

The government of Romania has passed a new law which will force fortune tellers and witches to pay income tax for the first time. They had been discussing the newly passed law for a while.

The Christian Science Monitor reported on September 10, 2010 that Romanian senators were afraid to pass the tax for fear that the witches would cast curses on them. Obviously, they overcame their fear because the new law was passed.

It may seem strange that a whole occupation of people were never forced to pay income tax before, but noted Romanian witch, Maria Campina told Realitatea TV that “it is difficult to tax thousands of fortune tellers and witches partly because of the erratic sums of money they receive.” (Christian Science Monitor. com, Associated Press)

Third Age. com reports, “Romanian witches hurled poisonous mandrake root into the Danube River cursing the president and government after learning of the tax.” All cursing aside, it appears that reactions to the new law are mixed in the witch community. Some witches were happy over the new law, claiming that it would give some legitimacy to their work.

It appears that truly the only two sure things in life are death and taxes, even for witches.

Last night, Monday 17 May 2010, at 21.37, one of the very famous woman in Indonesia, Mama Lauren had passed away. She is a fortune teller, but she didn’t want to be called as a fortune teller she preferred to be called as a private consultant. She predicted many things around Indonesia, such as actor’s future, such kinds of accidents, earthquakes, and especially the great tsunami in Aceh, Indonesia

In every end of the year, many journalist come to her and asked her a favor to tell her prediction about what would happen in the next coming year, where mostly they asked about the political condition of Indonesia, natural disaster, the life of Indonesian famous people or leader, and kinds of problems that would appear in this country.

She suffered her illness, until the night that she was called by Allah. The only thing left now are her memories, so let’s pray for her to rest in peace there.

Care to learn your fortune? Hear ten humorous predictions from the amazing Madame Curio.

Ten Predictions from Fortune Teller Madame Curio

We all love to hear about predictions in the future. Will I win the lottery? Will I be promoted? Will I inherit a million dollars? Unfortunately, many predictions are about upcoming disasters in your life. Here are ten predictions from the extraordinary Madame Curio:

You are about to fall into a trap where there is no escape. Better to break off your engagement right away.

I see a long line. It will lead you to a path of abject poverty. You will receive a number ninety-one. Welcome to the office of Unemployment.

You are about to be visited by a tall, sinister looking man. He is wearing all black except for his white shirt. He has an angry expression. You receive a card that says, “Congratulations. You are being audited.”.

Today you are going to see your doctor for your annual checkup. Prepare for the worst. It was nice knowing you.

I see many stars in your future. Yes, stars surround you. You have just been hit in the face by a 250 lb. tackle for going on a date with his girlfriend.

What goes up must come down. You are about to go down rather suddenly. Hope you enjoy your Flight 95. I do not see additional flights in your future.

You are in a cage with ten ferocious lions. You scream but nobody hears you. You wonder why you are locked up in a cage.

You are about to be greeted by three wise men from the past. They will impart upon you the ability to laugh, clown around, and hurt people in unsuspecting ways. The names of these sages are Larry, Moe, and Curly.

I see death all around you. You are stomping on an anthill. You are inflicting great pain. What kind of monster are you?

I see a name. The word is faint. It says Ali. Let me look closer into the crystal ball. Ah, now I see the whole name. It says Alimony. I wish to divorce myself from discussing this matter any further.

Have you ever wanted to consult a psychic? Card readers have been around since Egypt. Consider this an exercise to tap into your spiritual intuition and gain insight to influences going on in your life, by using a simple deck of playing cards.

Numerology is an important element in divining with cards. We know that all things in the Universe are subjected to the rule of numbers. Mathematics are the basis for scientist to understand everything from the movement of planets to the structure of physical bodies. Numbers are a sort of universal language that transcend race or language. Think about that. If you are in Africa, China, or Alaska a 3 is still equal to 3 no matter how it is written or said. In this reading we will use a regular deck of playing cards where each card is given a meaning and the order that each card is revealed will answer the question you have on your mind.

First, you must decide on a question. It doesn’t have to be a “yes” or “no” question but avoid getting too complicated. Some examples of appropriate questions are:

Will my life change soon

Should I take the job with the airlines

Should we go to Hawaii for our honeymoon

Will I marry more than once

What are my most positive behavior patterns

Think of each reading as an opportunity to focus on what you want and what you need to do to achieve your goals. It is an opportunity to meditate and better understand the answers to your destiny. The cards are a tool to focus your energy. Science tells us that coincidence is not coincidence at all. Events can be explained mathematically like the sequence of seasons and the movement of planets. The cards will reveal a glimpse of forces of nature surrounding you. Then by you becoming aware of these forces you are in contact with your destiny.

The following is a simple “Five Card Spread”. The two joker cards are not needed and should be removed from the deck. Shuffle the remaining cards while thinking of your question. Cut the cards with your left hand to the left, making three piles. Now re-stack the cards with the same hand from right to left. Turn over the first card and lay it face up on the table. Follow with four more cards laying each to the right of the first. The following explains what question the cards are answering.

Position One – The first card re-establishes your question. This card will clarify your subconscious question and sharply define it. If you ask about money don’t be surprised if the card is the suit of “Diamonds”, asking about love, it may be the suit of “Hearts”, career is represented by “Clubs” and health is the suit of “Swords”.

Position Two – Turn the second card and place it to the right of the first. This card addresses the past events leading to your circumstance and possibly explains why you are asking this question.

Position Three – The third card goes to the right of the second and symbolizes you, the questioner. It will indicate how you are handling yourself so far, what your strengths or weaknesses are.

Position Four – The fourth card continues to the right of the third and symbolizes surrounding influences happening now. Specifically this card may indicate influences of family, your significant other or your peers. It may give you a clue to what you need to strive for or against.

Position Five – The fifth and final card tells how the question should be handled. The appropriate response will be symbolized by the interpretation of this card. Please review that last sentence. YOUR INTERPRETATION is paramount in answering the question. Naturally if you see all cards in the suit of “Swords” you might want to think about what you are doing to bring on such negative karma but this is the advantage of seeing the cards and becoming aware that you might be sabotaging yourself.

The following is an outline of what each card means and what a particular combination of cards could be trying to tell you. Remember that card readers rely on a spiritual connection to the universe symbolized by numbers, symbols, colors, etc. If the usual interpretation of a 9 of Swords is a warning of trouble in business or a bad time to travel, but your lucky number is 9, then your interpretation and your gut feeling should be considered as a guiding force. If you have Tarot cards and want to use them in place of the regular deck that is perfectly fine. I use tarot cards too but I wanted to make this exercise in card reading available to everyone and most people have a plain deck of playing cards. The most important thing is to have fun with it!

Meanings of the Cards by Suit

The four suits signify the following:

Hearts – Affairs of the heart, love, family, friendships, caring, sympathy, peace, affections

Diamonds – Affairs of the pocket book, money, business, travel, adventures, voyages

Clubs – Affairs of career, ability, fraternizing, all kinds of money matters, studies, partying

Spades – Affairs of concern, suffering, loss, sickness, enemies, betrayal, mourning, worry

Kings are men. Queens are women. Jacks are young people but usually refer to teenage boys. Eights are young girls and teenagers. The suits represent physical characteristics the people have. Hearts are usually associated with blonds and blue eyes. Diamonds depict white-haired people. Clubs represent brown hair and medium skin, while Spades are dark skinned people or black hair and fair skin with dark eyes. These are the Basic guidelines. Personality traits are associated with each suit also. Hearts are kind and usually the object of affection. Diamonds are mature and sometimes wealthy. Clubs are trust worthy and outdoorsy. Spades are serious and sometimes bad-tempered.

The King of Hearts is a fair, blue eyed, blond man, or a variation of that. The King of Hearts is a kind, even-tempered, patient man. He is an engineer, a doctor, a factory worker. No matter what his profession, he makes a wonderful husband, father or associate… if you know this pleasant, easy-going man and he has light green eyes, or if he has dark skin and black hair, BUT possesses the qualities I mentioned above, he is represented by this King of Hearts. You must decide who is being represented according to the people in your life, their relationship to you and their physical and emotional make up.

The King of Diamonds usually represents a successful man. A man of authority, responsible, sometimes a white haired man. When I do readings I use this King to represent older men. You might see him as a father or grand-father. He represents protection of a man of power or authority. A soldier, a judge, an attorney.

The King of Clubs is a brown or dark blond guy with green, hazel or brown, eyes. He is a “back to nature” type. Likes to do things with his hands. Might be a teacher, might be athletic. He has a down to Earth attitude about life. He is the one you hope shows up if you have a flat. He can be loyal and surprisingly sexy. He is shy. He is a pilot, a chemist, a writer…. get the drift? He may be of assistance to you.

The King of Spades has a dark to light complexion, but he has dark hair and dark eyes. He is very strong willed and can be dominating. He may have a bad temper. He may be serious and responsible. He may be reckless and cruel. He is a business man or an athlete. He is the boss or he can just be bossy. He might be a tricky lawyer or a somber judge.

The Queen of Hearts has the same fair haired appearance as the King but she is considered to be affectionate and can represent the mothering instinct.

The Queen of Diamonds may represent an older lady or a very fair woman and sometimes she is a frivolous personality. She can be a stranger. If she is next to the King of Diamonds it represents a marriage.

The Queen of Clubs represents a medium complected lady with the same coloring as described above although she can be darker than the King of Clubs with dark eyes and hair. She is often wealthy and affectionate.

The Queen of Spades is a dark cunning lady. She can be divorced or widowed.

The Jack of Hearts – a faithful, helpful young man

The Jack of Diamonds – a soldier, an officer in uniform, a postman, a policeman, usually means news or a message

The Jack of Clubs – a dark young man that is passionate

The Jack of Spades – a dark young man that you should avoid because he can be treacherous and jealous

A quick word about upright and reversed cards. Generally a reversed card means a little delay or a slight variation from the upright meaning. There are cards that mean the opposite of the upright meaning when they are up-side-down. Some readers do not consider reversed meanings at all but read the cards as having only the upright meaning. If all cards are reversed I think it means you are not going to get a clear reading and you should wait for another time when you aren’t distracted or you ‘re in a better frame of mind.
