Enjoying every single moment of being single.

I see people, mostly women my age, worrying to the point of panicking when marital status is discussed. Marriage, it seems to them, is a sort of security and without a ring on their finger to signify they are “taken”, they are doomed! Not for me. I am at this stage where I am certain I love exactly where I am —this blissful stage of singleness. Do not get me wrong. Like every normal woman at her 20’s, I also take down mental notes on how I want my wedding to be; from the motif, entourage, reception, and of course the ultimate wedding gown! I also have a list of the possible names I would give my future mini-me’s. But that is just one of the many gifts of being single.

Preparation. This is what I sometimes refer to as my planting season. I believe this is where God is molding, fixing and honing me into the perfect partner and parent He intends me to be. This is when He teaches me to budget my resources, sort out my priorities, manage my tasks, balance my time and develop a sense of responsibility. A daily real-life learning process where I realize my values and obligations as an individual, and discover my skills and gifts that can bless others. He provides me with opportunities to choose my preferred way of living, ministry to serve, places to see and explore and meet people who can be potential future partners.

Since being single means having more than enough time for my Me-time, it brings me closer to the Original Author of Romance. Instead of going out on a date, I stay at home read the Bible or other inspirational reading materials, write on my journal, attend the Feast, meet my Caring Group siblings, or simply spend some quiet time with Him. Our relationship has grown deeper from Creator-creation, Master-steward to Father-Daughter and Best of friends. He allows me to have more time reflecting on and about life. Moreover, I am able to spend more quantity and quality time with my family and friends. Simply put, being single has blessed me in a way by being grateful and being a blessing myself to the people surrounding me. People who cares and accepts me. This is the perfect time for me to shower them with the gift of time and good memories.

Not having a partner—yet, is my Heavenly Father’s way of protecting me from heartbreak after heartbreak. He protects me from what He knows are not good for my being: chauvinists, liars, “jerks” and possible abusers. He really knows what’s best and prepares the perfect time to give it to me.

Being alone is not always akin to being lonely. More often than not, it is the exact opposite of it. It is an experience of exceptional freedom. A time to enjoy life at its fullest; without guilt or hesitations. The perfect opportunity for growth and choosing wisely for our future and those of our loved ones. Ali Smith wrote in her book that singleness brings protection, provision, proximity and preparation. I could not agree more.

Indeed, life is exuberantly joyful and fun when you are single, especially when you have a great God who guides your every step and never gets tired of being your Loyal Partner, come what may.

My high school's Class Prophecy.

The dawn was breaking in and I am all set for school. It was just another day for me to explore and wonder the marvelous work of God. A new day full of surprises was waiting for me to unravel. When I got my allowance from my grandma I ride off to school with my school service. As I entered the gate, I greeted our school guard with a grin in my face. I walked decently into the gallery noticing a group of fourth year boys under the shade of the tree, laughing and conversing each other’s consort early in the morning. They were the group of rock association in our school. When the bell rang and as we finished our morning prayer we then went to our own classes.

I have been engrossed with each subject but I wondered why a certain dread is welling up on my stomach every time during our physics class. Our teacher Ms. Rosie dela Cruz gave us a long quiz. I was unsatisfied with the results. Meanwhile, after the class Isaw our Physics teacher talking with Michael and Ester Ann (our physics duo) in low tones. I have seen them consistently almost during our free time discussing themselves as if conjuring a plan to save in the mighty name of Physics. I have been ballistic lately, gravely paranoid of the triumvirates secret sessions. I got to know! I got to know! So I devised my own observational tactics, jotting the time, place and duration of their meetings. Then finallyduring one of my detective guises, I saw them trodding the path towards the teacher’s dormitory. I followed them, I stopped dead on my tracks when I saw them operating “a cellphone-like device.” But I know better that it isn’t an ordinary cellular device. It is more than just ordinary, I deduced. “huh?! What are you doing here Ms. Balogo?” uttered Ms. Rosie. “I….I….I…” I stammered. “I’ve seen her spying us almost everyday ma’am”, added Michael. “She must be curious about what we’re up to that’s why. Why don’t we include her on our machine testing? I’m sure she won’t mind” said Ester. So they told me everything about the device. They were making a “time apparatus” but unlike the obsolete ones, theirs is more user-friendly, portable and more interactive.

When they caught me, their work was nearly finished and they only need a volunteer to test the apparatus. To my great dismay, they have chosen me. The true meaning of the word “volunteer” was been sabotage. For now I have become an automatically nominated volunteer. They’ve supplied me with all the info needed and I attentively listened a lot. But then I remembered that I’d rather used this as an advantage. Thus, the time has arrived for me to choose what era or year I want to go through. I typed the year on the LCD screen and I pressed OK. I heard a ringtone then I held the receiver on my ear. ZAP! I felt my body twitching like it was thrown into an abyss or bottomless pit. I saw series of psychedelic lights and passages that I’ve mistaken as wormholes. Then, I passed out.

I smashed on a soft-steel chair with a large desk in front of me surfeited with a pile of papers, folders and books. I noticed I was on a huge room, outside of it was reckless busy people coming to and fro pursuing a large job given to them. Upon seeing them, I felt the pain on my back. I was almost likely to faint when suddenly one young sexy lady wearing a black long sleeve and a mini-skirt smiled and greeted me. “Hi, how’s your day?” I was shocked and looked deeper on her and found myself uttering the name of Princess Ann. I never believed that was happening.

I looked at the calendar, it was the year 2021. Fifteen years after graduation. I found out that I am the manager of a big telephone company, owner of vast lands in Europe and South Africa. I was also the head of all over 20 enormous and most well known hospitals in different parts of the world equipped with all the modern medical facilities.

My secretary Princess Ann, approached me and told me that there is a client looking for me to confer her scheme of ideas about the renovation of huge land in Lost Angeles for the recreation of tourists. I told her to come in. I was horrified with what I saw. In front of me stood a slender lady carrying an attaché-case on her right hand. It was Charisse. I jumped on my chair and hugged her very tight that she was astonished by my manner. She told me that she is an authentic lawyer of an immense and most popular artist in the world. She also owns a vast resort in Honolulu. After we all set about the project she told me about our oth9er classmates. She said that Rosario, one of the most chatty and garrulous classmate I’ve ever been, entered the convent. She realized she would put herself in God’s presence after all her senseless deeds. While Princess M, owned an enormous factory of wine. She sells different types of wine from delicate to strong savor.

And then she perceived that it was almost time for her to attend a great party where all acquainted politicians and cognizance big stars are invited. “You wanna come with me?”she said. “How could I refused? We haven’t kept in touch for many years!?” So Charisse was very delighted with my decision. I was very enthusiastic when we went to a very grand hotel I have never seen in my entire life. I found myself gazing on the glimmering ornaments and the finest embellishments hanging methodically in every corners of the wall.

Suddenly, I was bewildered with amazement with the guy I saw. That hilarious guy was Hendrick. I can’t imagine him verbosely speaking on a huge crowd. I remembered him in high school, he can’t pronounced the word well. “Look at him.” Charisse said. “Do you remember him?” “yes of course! He’s the thin, black and funny man in our high school days. Who can’t forget him?”. I said.

We strolled the whole hotel when two lovely ladies pushed me away accidentally. Their win spilled on my evening gown. “We’re so sorry”, they apologized. Then one of the ladies shouted my name. “Kimberly, is that you?” It’s Liza. I was buffing with shock. Then at the same time I noticed her companion. It was Connie Rose. They were very sorry for what had happened. They told me that they were business partners in the music industry. They have so many big stars working on them. Among them were Enjay and Keith Mary. They were making concerts on the different parts of the world.

I am highly engrossed when I felt somebody slapped me on my right arm I turned to him. He was beaming and laughing hysterically at me. Connie yell his name… “Jose!”. The funny, smart and hopeless romantic guy during our time was now the governor of Chicago. No doubt Jose can be one of the most popular politicians. They moved to Chicago since he finished AB Political Science at Oxford University. He is also the author of various books in Law.

Jose let me acquainted with all the famous artists there. I was shocked. Ronald was one of the top 5 most notable painter. His works was next to Leonardo da Vinci. There came next was Jennifer, my reckl, ess, undefeatable but nice friend. She is now the glaring superstar of all time in the whole America. She was honoured because of her highly improvised “Sisa, the Great!” But take not Sisa was a name entitled to her for being a versatile actress, not insane or delirious anymore.

Then I decided to go to the place where my childhood begun. My friends and relatives were very happy seeing me. They could not believed my lucky fortune. They gave me a welcome party. While in the party, I was very exhausted maybe because of the weather and the crowd. I decided to take a walk outside. I looked at the environment when I grew up. Along the way, I saw two persons discussing something with themselves. I went near them and they faced me, I realized they’re Ester and Michael. They were dressed like scientist or something. I asked them. “What are you doing here? Come on let’s go inside”

Not a word I have heard from them. It looked very strange. They only looked at me. We haven’t met for many years but they could not say anything to me. Then they gave me a cellphone. It was very strange. “Are they giving me a cellular device? Don’t they knew that I am the owner of the most prestigious mobile company?” I muttered. Later the cellphone rings, Ring….ring…ring….”answer the phone!” Michael said. “What?” I exclaimed. “answer the phone” Ester shouted. I was very frightened with the state. I then answered the phone. “ Hello?” Then I was being twisted and thrown into a pit. I knew it. I was again thrown into a bottomless hole. I shouted and screamed. Then down from it, I smashed on the ground holding a cellphone. I felt I’m being placed into another world. I looked out the surrounding and found out that it was the school. “ Huh?!” That was the shortest word I spoke.

Then our driver called my name, “Kim, we’re going home! Then he left. I smiled after being puzzled of what had happened.

Well, after all, in just one day, I travelled the whole world. Yes! The power of technology, the power of TIME ENGINE!

Frustration can sometimes get out of control and make people do some crazy things.

We all get frustrated at some point in our lives. Frustration can cause us to experience many issues. When someone continues to upset us we may lash out on others who have nothing to do with the situation. You may scream at family members or stop talking to friends because you are having a difficult time dealing with problems that constantly affects you. You should try and relax in a different setting and perhaps take long walks to calm you down. Being frustrated is not good for your health. You may experience chest pains because your situation is so out of control. If you have to talk to someone who can be bias about your situation maybe they have some encouraging words that will help relieve your tensions.

Many experience frustrations throughout their lives and have no clue how to deal with it. They may even go so far as to try and take their life or the life of another. Its very important to deal with the problems with a clear head and talking them through will help a great deal. make a list of what makes you frustrated and why so that you’ll prioritize which ones to deal with first. Make a habit to take breaths in and out when you feel over whelmed or down right frustrated. Always make an attempt to relieve the cycle of frustration.

Its a fun time in a girls life.

Well you’re a high school girl now. Well I am sure that you would love a guide to help you get through these four years.

Well I have decided to give you a guide.

How to act. This is simple all youhave to do is be yourself. Do not do anything just to be popular.

What to wear to school. This is not so simple. If you go to a school that forces you to wear a uniform you should try to accesorize it and make it uniquely you.

If you do not have to wear a uniform than you can wear whatever you want. But there are a few rules you need to follow.

The first rule keep it tastefull. This means if you wear a dress you must wear underwear underneath it. If you wear a skirt you need to make sure that it covers all of your private parts.

The second guideline is make sure that you are safe. This is the easy part. It means do not wear high heels to gym class or on days that you have to go up and down the stairs many times.

How to make friends. This is very easy to do. All you need to do to make friends is be yourself and introduce yourself to all the people in your school.

The most important thing in high school is to remember that you need to complete all of your school work so that you can go far in life.

High school is one of the most influential times in the development of a teenager especially a teeage girl.

The people in our lives can be referred to as fountains or drains. Fountains will uplift you and drains will suck out your energy.

Have you ever had the most brilliant day only for someone to come along and totally kill your mood and wipe the smile off your face? Yes! That’s a drain. Drains always have problems, are never satisfied with their lives and like to drag others down to their miserable level. A drain will never encourage you to better yourself or praise you on your achievements. They love to be the centre of attention, wailing in their misery and if you ever have a problem and turn to them the conversation will turn back to their woes which are bigger and more important than yours.

Fountains are people that feed you, as in how water feeds a plant rather than feed off you like the drains. They will uplift you, encourage and inspire you to fulfil your highest abilities and when the world kicks you down they’ll pick you up, again and again. Fountains are able to bring people into the light on the darkest days and offer a haven of comfort when troubles won’t go away.

Everybody needs fountains in their lives. If there’s too many drains in yours, flush them away before you fall into the trap of their miserable sewage.

How to do so.

If you are a student just about to move away from home at the moment then there is no doubt that you would be under a mixture of emotions. Whilst moving away will give you a lot of freedom, it is the first time during the course of your life that you really have to admit that you are no longer a child, and that you are going to have to cope on your own.

Feeling homesick is something that is perfectly normal and, while you might want to be on the phone to your friends and family from home every day, this is not something that should be advised. You should set specific times that you are going to get in contact with them, and make sure that you stick to these times, otherwise you will be finding that you don’t manage to move on from your old life at all. With regards to actually seeing your family, it makes sense to arrange at least a couple of days out each term so that you don’t have to go for several months at a time without seeing anybody. If you do this, then you will always have something to look forward to when you’re feeling a little bit down.

An important thing that you should always remember when you start your course is that everyone is in the same boat as you. Most of the people will never have lived away from home before, and this means that they will probably feel homesick as well. You should do your best to talk to them, and you might find that they are surprised when they realise that there are other people who feel the same way that they do. Whenever you hear about other people’s experiences of university, they always sound as though they’re having a great time, because that’s what they want you to think. They will be choosing not to tell you about all of the times where they have missed home and felt down, because they won’t want to talk about it.

The thing to do is to try and throw yourself into as many activities as you possibly can during your first week. The busier you keep yourself, the more likely it is that you are going to be able to take your mind away from the fact that you’re missing home, and that it a very good thing to be able to do; particularly in the early stages. In addition to this, going out as much as you can to whatever events are organised means that you are going to be able to meet people and therefore make new friends who you will be able to talk to if you need somebody there for you.

This is one of the biggest stages of your life, and there is no way that it is going to be emotion free. But if you manage to get through the first couple of weeks, which you will, you will then realise that actually university is a wonderful place and it gives you the chance to grow as a person more than any other chance that you’ve had before.

Moving out? Don't worry.

If you’re a student moving away to study, then you might be starting to worry about whether you’re going to be able to cope with living on your own when you have never done anything like that before. The good news is that a lot of people feel that way before they start their course, and this means that you can rest safely in the knowledge that you will settle in eventually.

Although you might be getting excited about living away from home, you need to take the time to think about the practical aspects of living on your own. One major thing that makes a lot of students get stressed is the money situation. When you’re on your own, you have to budget for anything that you might want to be buying, and there is nobody to bail you out if you should get into any trouble. You need to write everything down that you spend in an average month, and put your money aside at the beginning of the month that you need to spend on your bills and rent. Then, you know that if you spend the rest of the money that is in your account you’re not going to be getting into any trouble because everything that you really need to pay has been covered.

You might feel as though you miss home a lot and, although it might be tempting to phone home as often as you possibly can during your first term, this won’t help, as you need to get used to living your life without talking to your family every few minutes. The best thing that you need to do in this situation is to just throw yourself into life at university. There will be a lot of events planned in the first week, and you should try to arrange to go to as many of these as you can with your flatmates, as you will then be able to get to know them and keep yourself busy at the same time which would take your mind off missing your home and your family. It is also good to talk to your flatmates about the way that they’re feeling, because chances are they might be feeling the same way as you and this means that you wouldn’t feel as though you were quite as alone.

Arranging days out with your family once each month will help to cheer you up if you’re missing them. You could arrange for them to come and see you, or you could arrange to see them every couple of months if you can afford to go home. This means that you know that you’re not going to be waiting for more than a month at a time without seeing your family, so you will be able to look forward to that if things are getting a little bit hard for you.

Remember that it is normal to feel as though you miss everyone and everything when you first move out of your home, but it is something that you will get used to in time. Everyone feels the same way when they start their course too, so it’s just a natural feeling for you.

How to make new friends.

By the time we settle down in our lives, we might find that the friends that we had while we were growing up have gone in a different direction so we are not able to see them any more. While this is a perfectly natural thing to happen, it can be upsetting, and occasionally we can find that we have nobody who we can turn to when we need somebody. In such an instance, it makes sense that we should be trying to make some new friends, but this might seem like a daunting thing to do.

If you have children, then your child’s school gates is the best place to make friends. You instantly have something in common because of the fact that you both have children, and this means that you have something that you can talk to them about while you’re waiting to pick up your child. Make sure that you get involved with things at the school as this means that you are more likely to meet people and be able to stay in contact with them. Even if they don’t end up as close friends, it is giving you something to do and people to chat to which is better than nothing. If you have young children, then parent and toddler groups are the best place for you to make friends, as you will all be going through the same stages of parenthood and it would be nice to be able to get friendship and help from people who know exactly what it is that you’re going through.

If you don’t have children, or your children are adults, then now is the time to reinvent yourself and get a new hobby. If you keep your eyes on the local news and papers, you would most likely see that there are many clubs that run every week. It could be an exercise class, pottery, baking; anything you like. But if you try to do something that you have an interest in then you’re likely to find more people with things in common with you, and that has to be a good thing.

Ask your friends to bring people along with them when you go out. If you do this, then you might find that you are able to make friends with people who you never thought that you would, and that is great. You can do the same thing in return and take a friend with you who your other friend doesn’t know, and see if they get along. If you do this, then you could very well end up with a large social group and more friends than you’ve ever had.

Don’t ever underestimate your family, either. Although not friends as such, days out with your family can be very fun and you might actually find that you have more in common than you thought!
