It seems yesterday is almost always better than today. Is that the complete truth? This article suggests it sometimes depends on the state of mind the individual.

I wonder what intelligent forces hovered around their heads. Their originality and spirituality were genuine. I always love it when I read about the persistence and the spirit behind their discoveries and inventions. Every generation laughs at the old fashions, but follows religiously the new. I listen to stories of the past generations, which are the bone of contention here, with keen interest; Ghana’s Kwaw Ansah’s Good Old Days stress the point, as if there were no such thing as vices, wars and woes. The truth is that there existed woes and wars, but in comparably definite proportion: since, as someone suggests, there were not enough noises to disturb all the good forces of nature, and a minimum pollution to interfere with nature’s originality. Humans ate bread prepared from cereal harvested directly from the field. The animals from which they acquired most of the protein fed from the original feed nature provided.

Humans’ thought appeared to be more focused and more detailed, comparable with computations by modern sophisticated machines. Most of their philosophies are still valid. People, like the internet marketers, seem to put keen interest or place more emphasis on the century, or two, year old source of information which provided the knowledge for whatever they have come by. Sometimes I am moved to conjecture that the forces which served as sources of their thoughts were closer around their heads. Contrary to this statement may be the reason behind decrease in human conscience; as a result of which, for example, the so-called modern civilised woman exercise her right to practice how to go naked on the street. In fact most of the things making up the status quo make many people feel great nostalgia for the status quo ante even of early this century and beyond.

One of the fascinating stories I have listened to about the primitive or uncivilised human being have been how an Ashanti man studied weaving by watching a certain breed of spider weave its cobweb. This knowledge has been the pillar behind the costly and valuable Ashanti Kente cloth.

The fact is that any good information or knowledge is never completely abandoned by the generations to come; either it can hold enough water to stand the test of time or it would provide a good basis of something important. So whatever good thing your hand finds to do do it with all your might, all your power and all your spirit, this seems to be the secret behind every good discovery, knowledge, philosophy or any valuable thing ever produced by the human mind and wisdom. Value and make good use of this simple precept and peace will never forsake you and your name.

There is no way of knowing exactly how much a human child should grow.

There is no way of knowing exactly how much a human child should grow, since growth depends on heredity and other characteristics. There is really no reason to be concerned when a child does not seem to grow rapidly, considering that, in many instances, growth is delayed before it can occur during adolescence.

Generally, a girl grows faster than a boy until she is 12 or 13 years old. Within the first two years of birth, a baby usually grows about ten inches. A child usually grows four inches, or a little less, during its third year and about the same in its next six years. A girl’s growth rate slows down when she is about 9 years of age, whereas a boy’s growth rate begins slowing at the age of 11.

Studies have shown that Americans are getting taller in every generation. In World War I and World War II the average height of men in the armed forces had risen from under 5 feetr 8 inches to a little under 5 feet 9 inches.

Generally, the mind and the body develop at the same time; however, the mind’s ability does not depend on its size, unlike the body that gets stronger with size.

A cradle is a picture of life, while the grave is a picture of death; this article can certainly give us an idea of what must be done with our lives between the cradle and the grave.

People are fond of making a stroll in a mall. Thousands are getting in everyday, some are just there to enjoy the cold environment, while others have the intention to buy something. Everyone is free to roam inside the huge building, doing anything they want to do, but at the end of the day all must get out as a rule and policy. That is a picture of life, there is an entrance and an exit. At the time of our birth, we entered the world like entering a mall, then we live our lives the way we want it, go to places we thought would give us satisfaction and happiness; and after that, we exit into oblivion. There is a big difference between a mall and the so called life. In the former, a person is in control of his time, he or she can get out from the building at 3 pm or 5 pm; while in the aspect of life, it might be taken from a person anytime. In life, the entrance and exit are of less importance compared to what happened in between. In other words, how we live our lives matter most than anything else. Dr. Jose Rizal, our national hero, lived only up to the age of 35; yet his activities and accomplishments are being known ,through books and teachings, in this generation and in the coming years. Let us ponder on how to best live our lives from the cradle to the grave.

James 4:14 ( Bible / New living translation ) How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.

A hurt girl who tells her story and the advice that she gets.

I will start to quote the girl:

Are there any single guys left in this world who aren’t losers? I am beginning to think that the only good guys out there are married or dead. Am I wrong? For the love of God I hope so. And what is the deal with cheating jerks? Why is it so hard to say what you mean?

The answer is simple in my opinion:

The 21th century generation wants things too fast.

People don’t have patience and that causes that you want things too fast. You accept people too fast, you think that you know someone too fast, etc.

Take your time and you won’t get hurt that easy.

Of late, there has been a growing concern over the increasing number of children, particularly students, getting involved in unhealthy activities, and a lot has been said about the deviant behaviour of children. For instance, cases of truancy, drug addiction, smoking and criminal activities are on the rise. Impoliteness, including disobedience in class and disrespect for teachers, top the list as the major disciplinary problems among our children, especially secondary school student. Vandalism and malingering are next in the list of misdemeanours.

From my point of view, more and more of our youth are not paying attention in class. They have such an indifferent and disinterested attitude towards lessons. Besides, it is hard for them even to complete their homework or do class duties. They even play possum when the teachers ask for volunteers. There are also some students who answer back at teachers in a rude manner when questioned by their teachers.

Children, nowadays have no respect for elders any more, for example their teachers. Could it be because teaching is a low-paying job? What is the cause of this arrogant behaviour? These arrogant and conceited students look down on teachers because most of the students drive to schools. They despise teachers who are riding motorcycles or taking buses.

The perennial problem that is more apparent in our affluent society is the smoking habit. Nowadays, this habit is rampant and it is a norm amongst children of today. It has become a trend.

In addition, vandalism among children is one of the causes of concern and trepidation for the authorities. The thrills of causing damages to school or public amenities give unwarranted pleasure or enjoyment. The defacing of school property and damaging them reflect an irresponsible and immature attitude.

Drug addiction is another dangerous teenage problem in our society. It is a menace, there is no doubt about that. it has often been described as Malaysia’s number one enemy. The streets ion the cities and larger towns are filled with HIV-infected youths. Drugs can be easily available as they are easily affordable. Thus, many are lost in their own world, unaware of life at large, and only interested in pursuing short-term “highs” by injecting, sniffing and imbibing narcotic substances that dull the pain in their sad lives.

Furthermore, the crime rate has gone up rapidly among our children like extortion, bullying, gangsterism, rope, theft, robbery, kidnapping and blackmail. As the saying goes, “Prevention is better than cure”. Hence, I strongly support that preventive measures should be taken to curb or lessen indiscipline among children.

In short, I suggest a three-prong strategy, involving the school, the authorities concerned and parents. These three parties should co-operate so as to educate and raise our children properly. Let us not be disheartened by this generation of youths who have gone astray but be inspired by what we can do for the next generation of youths, as they are our most valuable assets. Our children today are our future leaders tomorrow.

I never thought I would ever ask such a rhetorical question. Here’s what three generations had to say in answer. As India gears up to celebrate 64 years of Freedom, a Reality Check on the status of our patriotic instincts.

This morning I received an Independence Day Eve SMS from an Uncle in his late 60’s. Usually the tone of such a message is celebratory in nature. This year however I was surprised to see a satirical message that reflected layers of pain beneath it. On second thoughts, I was not that surprised considering the mass expressions of disappointment and rage at the system that has unravelled over the years, and kind of had a season peak over the last year.

Senior Generation

When I called my Uncle to check if I had indeed interpreted the nuance of his message rightly, he confirmed about his growing need to distance himself away from the celebrations year after year. In his early years, he said, he would eagerly wait for the big day and dressed in white, he would ensure he was on time for the flag hoisting at the Parade Ground. But over the years, as the activities of the scamsters and the corrupt unfolded, he, like millions of others, found themselves wondering if they had really achieved Freedom. Or was it limited to the Corrupt?

Contemporary Generation

I had a growing need to check with my peers as to whether they would attend this year’s celebrations. I quickly made a few phone calls to get the replica answers of what I had already assumed to be the case. For my generation (30’s), it was a case of indifference that had crept in over a period of time. Like one of them aptly put it, “Convenience over Values”, which translated to “As long as I get my work done, I’m willing to compromise on certain values. After all, I’m only a passive contributor to corruption. Catch the big fishes first.” That kind of summarized the growing restlessness with the system. The maximum contribution we allow ourselves is to stop consuming alcohol, turn into a vegetarian for a day and paint the tri-colour on our faces and pin-up little flags on our sleeves. It’s just another event for most of us…

Next Generation

I then checked with my ten year old nephew if he was going to be a part of the Big Day. His answer, or should I say question, was pretty simple. “Our teachers told us it was not compulsory. So, why go?” Now that is the next generation that we are pitching our gallons of hope on, to create some miraculous sense of values and bring back the lost glory to our Freedom Years. Holiday seems like a bigger reason to celebrate than the Independence!

The Future

The future looks bleak. I’m tempted to arrive at a happy ending to my reverie by proclaiming that there is some distant flicker of hope in the generations to come. But whom am I fooling by doing so? Isn’t it just like when you say “Tomorrow I will be a better person. I will bid my flaws adieu.” While the reality is, you have only “NOW” to make those amends. There will be no tomorrow, for it will always be “Today” when it arrives.

So guess it’s time to stop passing the buck to the next generation. And we all know in our hearts somewhere that we have all failed. Our little drops of inaction have also contributed to the current status of our nation. And the whole of last year has been a disastrous wake-up call. This is our last chance. Are we willing to rise from the ashes? Only time will tell.

With a heavy heart, I wish you a Happy Independence Day!

Your youth and your glory days were as good as it will ever get. The rest is all downhill from there.

In a shocking turn of events, results of a new study has come out that in fact, there is no choice about it, every generation after yours will in fact suck. Your generation is the absolute peak of human perfection. The generation that you lived in is the epitome of everything that is great about the world. There is nothing about it, every generation that comes after yours is bound to rather be awful.

The facts are this.

1) There will be more television stations. Even less to watch. And what there is to watch is going to pale in comparison to the television programs that were on during your youth.

2) The music is going to be an insult to the very word music. Every musician that came in your generation is either rolling over in their graves or would want to kill themselves so they are going to roll over in their graves. It is over produced clap trap that sounds good but is only made to line the pockets of corporate fat cats, as they dive in their pools of gold.

3) Video games are nothing compared to what you played as a child. It might look better to the eye, but it does not have the sense of mindless fun that it did when you were a child. Plus who needs all of these buttons. Keep it simple.

4) The children are more snot nosed, more rude, and more in need of discipline than you ever were. They have it made with their cell phones and their I Pads and all of that technology.

5) Politicians are corrupt, dishonest, and only out for themselves instead of the people that they are supposed to serve. Wait a minute…actually it was that way during your generation too. Scratch that one.

5, take two) People back in your day knew the value of a dollar and knew how to save their money. These days they can’t wait to spend their money and they rack up massive debt. Then its somehow the fault of someone else.

Every generation of yours is bound to suck. Your youth was the pinnacle of all of humanity. Everything else is downhill. Everything should have stayed the same as it was when you grew up and nothing changed. Everything was perfect, that was the glory days of life. Children these days have no respect and they have no sense. Everything was so much better, the music, the television, the video games, just everything about life. And every generation after yours sucks.

And someday you will be old and irrelevant. But at least we can count on politicians to be utter scumbags.

They spend at least three hours a day on the internet and can not imagine life without the gadgets that accompany them to school, at home or on the street.

24 of 24 are online, meet in the park less and more online, are more sedentary, not too much interested in politics or the country or world news and most of the money parents live. The new generation will take in 2020 more than 40% of the population of Europe and will soon rule the world.

Talk about the Internet as a new religion with enthusiasm and a smile on your face. ”I can not imagine life without the Internet, but sometimes I think of the fatalistic that someone could press the button and stop him.” It’s by far the coolest technology that someone invented it, young Vlad Atanasiu said, because “it is a common good, it’s us all, no one owns it. Na enormous cost to anyone and make it is by no means a loss for anybody. “ It iPad, iPhone, blog and if you want to contact, you can do it all possible channels. E-mail address, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Plaxo, Ning. Are gadgets all day after he can not detach from them.

3 of 10backbeforerevolution

Vlad started three faculties, but none has stirred up interest again, so I chose to combine his passion for technology and personal development work for years in an NGO. He says “a creative project, which required a kind of energy.” In fact, chose to do what he likes and dezlipeasca insensitive to others and then guides her life. It is involved with other young people his age, just over 20 years, in an alternative model of education in which young people discover how important it is to guide your career after you love and less forced by the rules imposed by society. Connectivity has come to represent the organization’s members so much that the Student Organizations Resource Center can work equally well whether or not students meet directly. ”My job online, so the organization can work equally well even if we have wireless and abroad,” said Vlad.

Technology to power

“I’m constantly connected to the Internet and it’s good, because I know how to channel my energies,” says Elena, his buddy Vlad. During discussion with them, walked her fingers on the touch screen of your phone every ten minutes. ”It’s really addictive, but you take what’s good in that one thing and use it to your advantage.” A recent study by the Soros Foundation Romania shows that the Internet plays an especially significant in the adolescents surveyed, meaning instead of being fully reflected in the budget for a regular school day.

On the Internet you can see a clear preference for accessing pages with interactive elements increased, but the interaction is clearly directed to friends and other people that the respondents already know. Cumulative three-quarters of young people spend at least an hour a day online, half of them more than three hours. Are more likely especially those from families with higher levels of formal education and urban residence. Leo Burnett Group undertook an extensive research, which aimed at drawing a portrait of young Romanians in cities. Alexandra Iavorschi, account director at Starcom MediaVest Group division of media buying group, he called young dominated by technology, mobile phone addicts and hedonistic, living by the principle of “here and now.”

The software industry specific media confirm that young age range 18-25 years spend, really, about three to four hours daily on the Internet. Most use it at home but at school or when I’m with friends. But as we approach the 24-25 years, we will find sitting on the Internet and at work. Among the purposes for which it is mainly on the net include communication by e-mail, searching for information, games, music, downloading software, read online magazines or newspapers, to blogs or forums.

“Access to information is really something positive. The only minus would be that the Internet is not a critical consciousness and culture and is equally harmful. Always I ask <What will you sit on the internet check? Not everything you find there is wrong!> “, says Alfred Bulai, a sociologist and professor at the School of Political Science and Public Administration. Not much time is consumed on social networking and LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Plaxo and Ning, the places where Vlad has created identities, are visited daily by more than half of seafarers. Facebook has become in the last two to three years most fashionable network and business consultant UK data shows that the percentage of young people 18-25 years of total users is 53% Romanian, of which three quarters were 18 to 20 years – over 1.3 million people, which means a penetration of nearly 100% in this age group in urban areas.

A reaction to a blog post I read on the degeneration of the current generation of young adults, and alarmism in general.

I do read other blogs in my spare time.

It’s something everyone should do– read at least one blog. If a person has their own blog especially, then, they should read a blog, online articles, books…

The blog I read today had a post entitled “An Open Letter to My Generation”. In the post, the author (a part of the 20SB blog network, for 20-something years young authors to share their contributions) condemns the generation of which she is a part, detailing the behaviors and faults she is able to observe through Facebook, in the local newspaper’s police report, and even in continuing to go to school with her peers.

Overall, the author indicts the other members of her generation. What are they thinking? Don’t they remember the responsibilities they will have in the future? Aren’t they supposed to be making a difference?’

I’ve seen similar articles/stories/posts, such as this one. Many of them are very inflammatory, most of them are discouraged.

What they all have in common is a running thread of alarmist rhetoric.

Why do authors feel posts of the “Open Letter” type are necessary?

It has to be due to a delusion of the Confirmation Bias (you see what you expect to see and look for. In this case, people who aren’t doing anything with their lives), or something similar. Authors are striving to make themselves known, possibly educating themselves, writing volumes, and they take a look at their compatriots. Facebook provides a host of good examples: “I am so hungover from that party last night”, “What an unbelievable time that was”, “Can’t believe we didn’t get caught by the police!lol”, and similar statements seem to paint a clear picture of this slice of the population.

“What a bunch of drunks”, thinks one author, seeing another status about getting blitzed over the weekend. Another author considers the problem is more in the vein of crime, “How many of my old classmates have I seen in the police reports?”, the author considers as she continues to read the list of minor law infractions.

There is nothing technically wrong with such ruminations. Of course it’s foolish and naive to assume that every citizen, at every point in time, is accomplishing something or staying clear of the law.

However, it’s equally foolish to conclude that your entire generation is a group of drunkards, slackers, and lazy worker drones lacking ambition (other than you go-getting bloggers, right?).

Every generation has its Martin Luther King Jr.’s, its Stephen Kings, its Einstein’s, its FDRs, and its own versions of exemplary figures in each field you can care to think of.

Every generation also has a man that could grow up to commit the atrocities of Hitler. It has women who could grow up to abuse their children. There will be men and women overusing their power, breaking laws, and acting in ways which further their desires at the cost of others.

So when you look around at your peer group, remember that the majority don’t look like the people they will become. Yes, the thoughts and actions we take now will affect our futures, but realistically they do not preclude many futures. Look at the great work done by Malcolm X– a drug dealer, pimp, and criminal who became one of the greatest political leaders of his time.

Realize that some partying, some drugs, and some bad decisions aren’t the end of a life. Rather, they are usually the beginning of a long road to maturity. For some, the road is longer and harder than it will be for others.

For those of you who make intelligent choices, I applaud you. You are doing yourself a countless number of favors by keeping yourself free of influences that could cloud your judgement, make your life more difficult, and inhibit your personal self growth.

However, the pride you should be receiving from yourself and from others is far from a license either to judge others or declare the current worthlessness of your generation. If we were to judge everything by its current worth, rather than its potential, no human would make it past the utterly helpless stage of infancy.

A pertinent song just came onto my iTunes. It’s “My Generation” by The Who. The entire theme of the song is the persecution the generation of the time received from those older generations; they were condemned for their music (emerging rock and roll), their choice in cars (reportedly, Townsend’s car was ordered towed by the Queen Mother, as it offended her, which was a partial inspiration of the song), and other lifestyle choice (”…just because we get around”).

Bloggers, you’ve left shielding your generation from attack to take on the job of spearheading the same criticism. In short, calm down. Things will be okay. Your generation will step up to the plate in time.

I know. It’s my generation too.

As always, I would love to hear your comments, thoughts, and questions, so leave them below! Have a great day.

The BPO sector is growing at a fast rate and it has contributed a lot in the process of generating new jobs and providing employment to young and freshers.

The role of computers in our everyday life has become much more prominent than it was previously and so are the other aspects which are related to the computer and its use. One such aspect which is related to comupters is generation of new jobs. Computers have played an important role in generation of new jobs over the last few years. The main reason for this is Outsourcing of jobs which is done to INDIA. The BPO sector has generated a lot of jobs over the last couple of years and is still going strong. One of the main contributions of the BPO sector is that those who have just graduated and are in search of jobs can apply for a job at the BPO. The essential requirements are that you must be very good at typing, then you must have a complete knowledge of keyboarding skills and good command over English language. When it comes to keyboarding skills you must know how to handle the keyboard and the shortcut keys. Once you have these qualifications then you can apply for a job at the BPO. There is an entrance test that each candidate has to give and on passing the entrance test you are selected for the job at BPO. On joining the BPO you are first explained about the process for which your selection has been made. This is followed by the training and then after a few months you are actually introduced on the floor where you come in contact with how the process of handling customer’s call and resolving their queries is initiated and the other details related to the process. Working on the floor is a completely different experience, if you are joining the BPO for the first time. This is then followed by evaluation of your performance. If your performace is excellent, then you will be given perks followed by promotions. If your performance is not up to the mark, then you will be explained about the problems that you are facing while handling the customer’s call and you will also be asked to keep a focus on your areas of weakness while handling the call. If your performace is satisfactory then you will be retained on the floor and if it is not satisfactory then you will be sent back to either training or to some other process where your strengths as an employee are more applicable. More and more young people are joining BPO for the sake of experience and they consider it as a stepping stone of their career and future.

Definitely the BPO sector has come a long way. It is not only providing jobs to individuals, but also grooming the young talent, promoting it and encouraging them in every possible manner that they do something on their own, which in other words means that, if tomorrow these youngesters want to start a business of their own they can definitely do it without any fear or worry because of the past experience that they have. Then after starting their own business they can provide employement to many more youngesters. Thus the BPO sector has brought in a change in the nature of jobs and that is for sure.
