The creation of a Navy Warship made with salvaged steel from the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center and built by victims of Hurricane Katrina, becomes a symbol of endurance for the United States. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton called it “a symbol of our unshakable resolve”.

What I remember of september eleventh, 2001.

Five years after 9-11, we are seeing thousands of individuals contracting rare diseases caused by exposure to asbestos in the air around Ground Zero. And those heroes who worked to help others during America’s bleakest moment are being abandoned by their government as they suffer and die from the diseases they contracted at the foot of the Twin Towers.
