Wow - I'm lucky to have been able to snatch my Triond address back after this attempt to write poetry. It's good to have disabled the guestbook, too. This must be some hot poetry that someone else wants to claim.

Editing my poetry at poetrypoem.com did not go well for me.

Attempt 1 - I was still working on trimming the mess down to size, when I got locked out. The same thing happened to the lulu.com book. I was struggling with forms of poetry other than haiku, senryu, and renga.

Attempt 2 - undaunted, I attempted to post the stuff again, slightly altering the pen name.

Attempt 3 - the mess gets edited and compiled a bit, then, I get locked out of this web page, too.

Attempt 4 - I decide to cut the CD with beta-test graphics and sleep on it. Tough on you. It looks horrible.

Attempt 5 - The fifth attempt I finally edit the poetry into something decent, something viewable. By this time I’m beginning to feel a bit guilty, as I’ve marketed and promoted attempt 1 to the point where Monique has to pay for a reading for the poetry reader. The CDs for sale have now been discontinued by the management.

Let’s cut to the chase. This in itself is a horror story. I deal with it, though, at 40,000 hits between the sites, I don’t profit from the situation at all. The first version being so tacky really sent me back to genre, in fact a few of the pages are definitely Halloween venue poems, with a lot of swampy stuff to sort through. Here’s stuff for the October readings, which is compact, organized and ready to roll.

Dinner and a Scare - maybe you can write my former agent at this email address, she’s legally dead.

Blood Bank

Vampires need to make

Withdrawals regularly

At this blood-filled institution

From Type O, through to Type AB

Got blood?

Why ask?

Why ask why?

It’s all about the blood.

Pinata Fiesta

Spooky little thing

Frightening shadows

Breaking it at the party

Smashed at last

Candy falls out – farce.

The Halloween Tome

This dusty, web-covered tome

So like a tombstone

Perhaps it’s mine.

The demons devoured the woods

With dust devils and ghouls

No God to help us.

“Jesus wept” the Bible said

Do you remember him!

Cried Satan from the graveyard.

Halloween at the Cabots

I did

He did

She did

We did

You did

They did

We explain only to Satan, or God

It happened

Hyena Halloween

We howl because

It’s special – yes, it is

She hyenas and he hyenas

We chew on dead bodies

We eat raw flesh and drink blood

Satan knows it happens

Autumn Scare

What is life in fall

The little, darling bird

Does not laugh in autumn

Life will not cut me more time.

What will it be for me, this death?

Scary Autumn

The roadkill has no life

Taxidermists stuff the bird

Dead loons, stuffed pigeons – more

Lifeless bodies in clear cases

Would you like to see them?

Deer Skull

Deer skull at the side of the road

Very funky, very nasty-looking

Bones bleached white, a wonderful tool

It’s mine for a limited time.

By the way, just thought I’d let you know, the major Halloween attractions such as Universal Studios, Spirit Halloween, and Halloween City have already posted ads for their key people for the upcoming season.

A list of ideas of crazy and fun last- minute Halloween costumes.

Have you ever found yourself saying “OMG!!! Tomorrow is Halloween…I totally forgot!!!”? Well, here are some last minute Halloween costumes that everyone will just absolutely love!

Lady Gaga is the biggest thing going around this year. She had major successes with her songs Born this Way, Edge of Glory, Judas, and You and I. Her unique style is hard to capture, because of her crazy dresses and makeup.

Here is what you need to do to dress up as Lady Gaga: Put on the craziest makeup and get the most awkward and weird looking clothes out of your closet to wear!

As we all know, we Ursuline girls can be pretty intimidating to the other schools because of our fierce, lion-like personalities. But to be more intimidating, become an Ursuline zombie schoolgirl!

Here is what you need to do to dress up like an Ursuline Zombie girl: Get on your uniform and use some makeup to whiten your skin as much as possible. You can also mess up your hair and draw some scars all over your body.

Bruno Mars is someone that girls of all ages, old and young, love to pieces! Even though he’s a guy, we girls can pull off any costume!

Here is what you need to do to dress like Bruno Mars: Wear a checked shirt and skinny jeans with your biggest black sunglasses, and also do up your hair like Snooki (for his small poof in the front). A monkey mask is also optional (The Lazy Song)!

One of the most talked about teens this year, is the one and only… REBECCA BLACK! With her song “Friday”, with what she got over 200 million+ views!

Here is what you need to do to dress up like Rebecca Black: Wear a purple top, bad makeup, and you can have your hair either messed up (her bedhead look) or straightened. Also, on your way to each house, make sure you sing “Friday” loudly and obnoxiously!

Katy Perry is also another favorite among teenagers, because of her never ending hits! This costume is inspired by one of her first biggest hits… California Gurls!

To pull off Katy Perry’s look for California Gurls you need to get out one of your most brightest dresses and stick different kinds of candy all over it. You can also put on a bright wig if you own one, or just curl, straighten, or crimp your hair!

I hope these ideas help everyone in case they forgot that Halloween was tonight! =D

Costumes do not have to be only for Halloween, there are many other fun and creative occasions a costume can be worn. You may even have a multitude of costumes ideas just laying around the house than can be innovated for the next theme party you are invited to or planning. While there are specialty stores that offer exquisite outfits for unique characters, it is not necessary to break the bank for your next costume or themed event. If you are a fanatic of dressing the part of someone else and love to create your own twist designing a costume, then here are some great frugal tips as well as other occasions to outfit a costume.

Plan a theme party that requires or strongly encourages guest to dress the part. For example, get out of the winter slump and throw a Jamaican inspired luau. Send out unique sunglasses as the invitation and encourage guests to break out their flip flops and grass skirts to immerse themselves in the theme. You can even find school girl costumes for adults” target=”_blank”>school girl costumes for adults!

Sometimes a costume can relay to a high end cocktail party. Why wait for an invite to dress up in a fancy dress or suit? Better yet, plan a forties style cocktail party with flappers and mafia inspired attire along with old fashioned cocktails and small appetizers to set the era.

Is your child’s birthday coming soon? Why not create a Disney themed party and have the kids and adults dress in their favorite character? This will be a sure hit for the younger kids and allow the inner child come out and play for the parents.

If you are the boss at the office, why not break up the monotonous rhythm and designate next Friday as costume appreciation day? From experience, this particular idea proves to boost moral and can break the barrier of the office tone.

For some this maybe out of the question, but to others who love this game show, they know the importance of a creative costume. If you live in the LA area, or planning a trip there, then why not break out your human hotdog costume and attend this fun game show?

Making costumes for a theme party event or for next Halloween can be a frugal way to create a one of a kind costume as well as save a few dollars. This tactic may require some investigative work at your local second hand shop and some innovative thinking, but think of how much fun it will be to hand craft your favorite costume. If you are a sewer, then this is a great way to save bundles on kid’s costumes and there are great sites that offer free patterns for your 2012 Halloween costumes.

Costumes aren’t just for Halloween as you can see. There are many other occasions that can be created to break out your Elvis sequined pant suit more than once a year.

Dead Silence – “ Beware the stare of Mary Shaw she had no children, only dolls. and if you see her in you’re dreams be sure no never scream”

The trailer alone for this film made me c**p myself. After his wife is brutally murdered Jamie turns to his hometown. It is there he learns the legend of Mary Shaw.

Trick R Treat – This disturbed me more than anything its a creepy film. set at Halloween and told from different characters POV. You will enjoy watching this. It stars True Blood’s Anna Paquin.

Drag Me To Hell – This one had my heart pounding nearly all the way through. After turning down a woman for a bank loan the old lady puts a curse on Christine. After the old woman suddenly dies Christina has just three days to find a way to break the curse or a demon will come to drag her to hell.

Hard Candy - Starring Ellen Page before she played Juno. Hard Candy is shocking to say the least. A young girl meets a 30 year old man online and is invite back to his house after they meet in a cafe, but not everything is as it seems.

Do you dare attend a haunted dinner party?

” Are you nervous?” Cal asked his friend as they walked.

” Why should I be nervous?” replied Sofi as they neared the old house. “It’s just a Halloween party.”

” Yeah, maybe you’re right. But Kim went to this persons party last year, and she said some weird stuff happened while she was there.”

” Like what?” Sofi asked, wondering why Cal would be so nervous about a stupid Halloween party.

” She wouldn’t say, but she seemed so scared when I talked to her the day after the party. The strange part is that Kim never gets scared about anything, and she never has talked about what exactly did go on at that party. This is always her favorite time of the year, and now she won’t celebrate.”

” She has seemed a little different lately, but I don’t think that anything bad could have happened.”

” Well, the Tawny twins went to the same party.” They stopped in front of the house and Cal lowered his voice. He was looking at the door with a worried expression on his face. “We never saw them again.”

” I heard they moved somewhere out west. There’s nothing strange about that.”

” Yeah,” he replied, biting his lower lip. “You’re probably right, but why didn’t they say good-bye?”

*

The moon was full and eerie, rising over the trees behind the old house. Cal rang the doorbell, and a deep ding-dong sound emanated from within. What a freaky sound . He was still nervous, but he didn’t want Sofi to know. They stood on the porch, waiting quietly.

Looking around, Sofi said, “Someone did a good job decorating the yard here.” There were pumpkins placed here and there, and the pumpkins on the porch were carved with scary pictures. These were glowing with candlelight. A scarecrow was sitting on top of a bale hay, holding a bloody ax. “Those spiders on the cobwebs look real,” she continued, shivering.

” I think they are real,” he replied, scowling. Cal hated spiders, but he didn’t want anyone to know.

The door finally swung slowly open. It made a creaking sound that reminded Cal of a scene from an old horror movie.

” Come in,” they were invited by a deep voice. A Tall man moved aside so they could enter. The man looked like Death. “They are waiting for you in there,” the he told them, pointing to a doorway down the hall.

As they walked toward the door, Sofi said, “I didn’t know we were supposed to wear costumes. I thought it was just a dinner party.”

” That’s what the invitation said,” Cal replied, thoughtfully. “I wonder why we were the only ones to receive invitations. I don’t even know the people who live here.”

” I just figured it was someone from school,” she replied as she opened the door leading to the room they had been directed to. The room seemed empty of people, the only light emanating from the candles on the dining room table. They each took a seat and waited quietly.

The room was so dark Sofi and Cal could not see beyond the table. There were enough place settings for eight people, minus the silverware, and a head that looked remarkably real was being used as a centerpiece. Screams could be heard, as well as laughter, but it had to be a recording because the noise was so low.

They suddenly heard movement. It sounded like people scuffing their feet cross the floor. Cal was more scared than he had ever been in his life. He knew that something wasn’t right. “Is anyone there?” he asked with a shaky voice. He looked at Sofi and noticed that her eyes were so wide they looked like they might pop right out of her head.

Four women and two men sat in the empty seats around the table. “Good trick,” Cal said with a nervous laugh. He took Sofi’s hand and realized she was shaking. When he looked at her again, he could see she was slowly nodding her head. Looking around the table, he noticed that the faces and hands of each of the other people were so white they seemed to be glowing.

The other people at the table did not seem scared at all. They didn’t even seem to notice he and Sofi were there. No one said a word. At least they didn’t seem to glow now. They looked dead, though, like the guy who answered the door when they had arrived.

The others started laughing. It was a strange sort of laughter that sent chills up ones spine. Sofi started screaming as she stood and ran for the door, with Cal right behind her. The door wouldn’t open, and she screamed again. Cal then tried to open the door, but it would not budge. They heard heavy footsteps behind them and turned around.

The man who had let them into the house now moved toward the table, pushing a cart. “Dinner is served,” he said in a deep, even voice. “Come and sit down. You cannot leave this room.” He smiled cruelly at them, staring into Sofi’s eyes. She returned to her seat slowly, without a word. It was like the man had hypnotized her.

Cal followed her and took his seat. “Is this some kind of joke?” He was uneasy, but didn’t know what to do. The door wouldn’t open, and there didn’t seem to be any windows in the room. He couldn’t even figure out how the doorman had gotten in. There didn’t seem to be another door. Where had the man come from?

Sofi sat motionless, not making a sound. The others were motionless as well, staring blankly at Cal. The doorman began serving dinner to each person in turn, with Cal the last to be served. First, the man poured a thick, red liquid into the wine glass. This liquid reminded Cal of blood. He didn’t think he would be able to drink it. Then the man filled the plate with spaghetti. He poured sauce over that, and then added meatballs. Well, thought Cal. At least I will be able to eat.

The doorman told everyone to enjoy their meal, then stepped back to watch them eat.

Cal knew he was still still being watched. He looked at his food, wondering how he was supposed to eat without a fork. It was then that he realized the meatballs were really eyeballs. His stomach curdled as he turned his head and saw Sofi drink from her wine glass. He looked around the table as everyone, including his friend, grabbed at the food on their plates with their fingers and start shoveling it into their mouths.

That’s when he threw up, right on his plate. His stomach couldn’t take it any more. The doorman was suddenly by his side, offering him a glass of water. He took the glass, sure that it really was water. Looking around the table again, he drank all the water in the glass. Sofi was staring across the room blankly. Everyone else was gone. Cal stood up to face the doorman, and fainted.

*

Cal awoke to a piercing scream. He knew it was Sofi, but he couldn’t see her. They were in a different room now and, even though it was too dark for him to see anything, he new it was a small room. It was damp, and he was cold.

Sofi wasn’t moving around, but she was still screaming. He tried to get up, but was unable to. He tried again, slowly, and was finally able to stand. Walking around with his hands held out in front of him, Cal worked his way around the room until he found her. Lowering himself back to down to sit next to her, he held her and stroked her hair until she was almost calmed down then asked “Where are we?”

” They brought us down here after you fainted. There were a lot of stairs, and a long hallway. They threw us into this room. Sofi was still crying some, and she was shaking. “They said we will never leave here alive. That they would give us to their father when he gets home.”

” Shhh!” He heard footsteps outside the room. It sounded like just one person. “When he opens the door, we will run and push by him as hard and fast as we can,” he whispered into her ear.

The door opened and they rushed for the light. Pushing by the man, they both hit the wall on the other side of the hall. They regained their balance and saw that man was now lying on the floor. Moving the man into the room, they closed the door and bolted down the hallway, Sofi in the lead.

She led Cal down the hall and up a long flight of stairs. They came out into the front hall where they had met what must have been the father. His skin seemed to be falling off his bones. He was deathly white with gray patches under his eyes, and it looked as though someone had pulled big clumps of hair out of his head.

The old man grabbed Sofi and she screamed. Cal began hitting and kicking the man, but his efforts did no good. He tried pulling Sofi out of the mans grip, but that didn’t work either. Cal ran through the house looking for something that he could use to save his friend. Above the entry door he noticed an old sword. Taking it off the wall, he ran back to help her.

The old man was holding Sofi by her neck. It looked to Cal like the man was getting ready to eat her face. He yelled and the man turned toward him, letting go of Sofi. Cal Swung the sword and missed. He kept swinging and finally managed to decapitate the old man. Taking Sofi’s hand and pulling her along, he ran toward the front door, then out into the street.

” What about the others?” Sofi asked as they ran down the street.

” I don’t care about the others. We gotta get away from there!”

*

The next morning, they were standing back in front of the old house while waiting for the police to finish looking around. As the officer came out of the house, he told them, “I don’t know what you are trying to get away with here. If this is some kind of joke, it isn’t funny. As I told you at the station, no one has lived here for eighteen years. I humored you. I came down here to check the place out, and yet there is no evidence of anyone being here recently. The only strange thing about the place is the puddle of goo on the hallway floor. Go home before I decide to arrest you both.”

The crisis affects the costumes and makeup in recent years. They are gloomy, dark and gloomy.

One student of LKM with a characterization of zombie

Do not be surprised if you feel these days in the middle of a horror movie. If you see hundreds of undead, vampires, beasts and monsters on the street. Carnival revelry means, have fun and forget, even for a few hours of adversity. But for all the joy that surrounds it, people unconsciously carried away by the dark, so dark and sinister. It seems that the crisis has left its mark on this festival, or so say some of the most experienced professional make-up and characterization in Madrid.

The girlfriend Elvira formed by Catalan and Basque Gorka Garcia Arranz are in Calle Jorge Juan 83 and 85 private school training your makeup, styling, special effects Trukko characterization and Make Up, in addition to its core The Makeup Kasa ( LKM). “This is a Carnaval on Halloween. Unwittingly, people take to end the way they feel and prevailing melancholy characters. It is also true that a zombie costume is cheaper. Simply break old clothes, “says Gorka.

LKM is the company responsible for bringing to life the characters bestial thirty on Friday and Saturday held parades through the main streets of Madrid to give color-grayish-to the Carnival of 2012. The main customers are producers LKM, theaters and institutions, but also reaches this point. Without going any further, yesterday, a frequent client requesting your order for a party with friends for next Saturday. “I want to turn into vamp and define me, do something different,” explained the same. Meanwhile, in one of the rooms, the student Manuel Tarazaga remained motionless for more than three hours to give life to a spectacular zombie. Something I have noticed also in LKM is the tendency to make him self. “To save on expenses, we noticed that people choose to buy the products and prepare the makeup alone. Furthermore, it seems to prefer to organize the party at home rather than pay in a nightclub, “says Gorka.

Ah, chocolate! So many different kinds to choose from, and all of it delicious! But where did it originate - and is it really an aphrodisiac?

Ah, chocolate! So many different kinds to choose from, and all of it delicious! But where did it originate – and is it really an aphrodisiac?

The average American consumes 11.7 pounds of chocolate a year. To get an idea of how much – imagine almost 12 packages of butter as being made of solid chocolate – or about the size of your average well-fed house cat. That is a lot of chocolate! (And it won’t stop meowing for some reason.)

The treat so loved worldwide has very humble beginnings. The cacao bean begins life inside a fruit, called a pod, on a tree in the tropics, primarily in remote areas of West Africa, Southeast Asia and Central and South America.

These delicate, flower-covered trees need much tending and, when farmed using sustainable methods, grow in harmony in tropical forests beneath other cash crops such as bananas, rubber or hardwood trees. Grown on small family farms, the beans leave cocoa farms by hand, in carts, on donkeys or rugged trucks to be sold to a local buyer and then to processors abroad. Once in the factory, they are ground, pressed, heated and stirred to create luxurious chocolate.

3,000 years ago, the ancient Meso Americans discovered the seeds which would be processed into what we now know as chocolate on the cacao tree, found in the tropical rainforests of the Americas. They mixed the ground seeds with seasonings back then, to make what they believed to be a health elixir – a bitter, spicy drink that could be considered the World’s first Cocoa drink.

The pods that the cacao seeds grew in were considered by the Mayans to symbolize life and fertility, and so the Mayans often used the symbol of the pod in their religious rituals. They called cacao “The Food of the Gods”. The Aztecs also believed the plant had magic properties, and that it could bestow wisdom and power. They also thought it to be a great source of nutrition – and most interestingly, used it as an aphrodisiac, which today’s science says isn’t so far off!

The Spaniards were the first to introduce sugar to chocolate – and thank goodness they did, or else we wouldn’t be enjoying all of the sweet confections available to us in the present. They also added new spices to the health elixir the Mayans and Aztecs enjoyed, and the modified beverage quickly spread throughout Europe like wildfire, enjoying a reputation as “the drink of the elite” for centuries.

Leave it to the French, however, to further the food’s reputation as an aphrodisiac! Casanova – the infamous womanizer – drank chocolate before seeing his lady friends, and as word of his romantic prowess spread, so did the romantic reputation of chocolate, inspiring much erotic art and literature in the French royal court.

In Barcelona in 1780, finally the first machine-produced chocolate was made. It was still in liquid form, however; smooth, solid eating chocolate would not be available until British chocolatier Fry & Sons developed the first solid chocolate bar in the early 1800s.

So when did Valentines Day chocolates begin to become a tradition? Richard Cadbury, founder of Cadbury Chocolate, introduced the first box of Valentine chocolates in 1868. However, the chocolates must have been dark, because the first milk chocolate was not brought to market until 1875, when a Swiss chocolate maker named Daniel Peter introduced it.

Chocolate became so popular around the world that during World War II, the U.S. government shipped cocoa beans to the troops. Even today, the U.S. Army includes chocolate bars in their rations. Chocolate has even been taken into space by NASA.

So is chocolate an aphrodisiac? Chocolate contains a small amount of phenylethylamine, which has been linked to the regulation of physical energy, mood and attention. A tiny amount of this chemical is released during moments of emotional euphoria, elevating heart rate and blood pressure. There’s no evidence that this chemical in foods elevates the level of the chemical in humans – however, the extra dopamine boost that you get from the caffeine and sugar in chocolate, combined from the happiness of eating such a yummy treat, might put you in a better frame of mind, which can only be a good thing when it comes to romance! Also, some scientists have said that chocolate causes the release of oxytocin, aka “the love chemical”, which causes us to bond with one another. Final analysis? It never hurts to believe!

And it can even help, if it gets you to eat a little chocolate: Dark chocolate (as opposed to milk or white chocolate) contains healthful flavonoids similar to those found in tea, red wine, fruits, and vegetables. Studies have shown that dark chocolate can improve blood vessel flow and may improve blood sugar and insulin sensitivity to help reduce the risk of diabetes. But beware, chocolate candy has plenty of saturated fat and sugar, so enjoy small portions of as part of a healthy diet.

If you do happen to overindulge, just remember, these “Chocolate holidays” only come a few times a year, so just get back to your healthful eating plan as soon as possible – and take a nice, long walk outside to get your motivation and energy back in line. That always does a body good!

Is it best to fear ghosts? The longer history of ghost account and ghost stories is usually deeply rooted in scary and fear. From such classic horror stories as being the haunting to the cat lore that saturates folklore ghost stories get a malevolent quality. They are told in the campfire to scare children and maybe they are brought out at Halloween to boost the spooky quality in the holiday. Ghosts are said to be scary. Yes, they are generally. Almost every ghostly dvd brings the hell using me. And I shout others in terms of my lungs seeing people ghostly creatures. This capitalizes my own fears on ghosts.
The ghost phenomenon has become so closely from the instinct of fear that it’s almost the that, if asked, a lot of people would admit that not surprisingly they would be frightened once they encountered an apparition. Even many seasoned ghost investigators are generally known to run like scared rabbits right after they see or even see something unexpected. Why? Have ghosts really earned the trustworthiness of being harmful to people? If you were walking unarmed within a dense tropical jungle you know is inhabited by tigers together with large snakes, you’d surely be petrified. The threat for a life and well-being is kind of real and your doubts justified. Tigers and snakes may well and do kill. Nevertheless holy gracious! I can’t live to remain on any haunted house fully understand the place is infested by scary creatures in the night. I can’t tolerate it. In this occurrence of the Last Man standing entitled House of Spirits, Vanessa is scared that the ghost is haunting your home. Well, I’ll try to remain brave enough to see this episode.
