Poppy: Flower of Remembrance

The red poppy is a common weed of Europe and was adopted as the official flower of remembrance and honor to those whom fought and died in foreign wars. As we approach another patriotic holiday in America I am again reminded of the sacrifices that so many soldiers made to keep our nations free.

You may think life is hard but it’s nothing compared to the prisoners’ life in the concentration camps. They would get punished for not doing their work or doing it slowly. They would die from working, or being gassed with dangerous gases. If any prisoners tried to escape would get mauled by Nazis.
