You may well already love and understand an Ophiuchus, but unlike the other twelve signs of the zodiac, you’ll be hard pressed to find anywhere near the amount of written material on the sign. Why? The reason is because although astronomers and astrologers have long known about this constellation, it has only recently been included as an astrological sign by astrologers who practice a certain type of Sidereal Astrology.

Mainstream Sidereal Astrology (Hindu astrology) and Tropical astrology (which includes the popular Sun Sign astrology) do not regard Ophiuchus as a sign, as they use the traditional twelve sign zodiac based on dividing the ecliptic into twelve equal parts rather than the constellation boundaries. It would no doubt be a challenge to change twelve equal parts into thirteen, although using a lunar calendar would fit quite nicely.

None-the-less, according to astronomers Ophiuchus is located between Aquila, Serpens and Hercules, northwest of the centre of the Milky Way, and lies between Scorpius to the west, and Sagittarius to the east. Many formerly known Scorpios and Sagittarians are either embracing Ophiuchus as their new star sign, or heavily disputing it’s authenticity as an inclusion as an astrological or zodiacal sign.

Ophiuchus is depicted as a man grasping a serpent. In the 4th century it was documented as being associated with doctors, healers or physicians. The sign for Ophiuchus is that of the Caduceus, a staff topped off by a knob with flanked wings. On the Caduceus staff there are two snakes criss-crossing their way to the top. These symbols are almost always associated with health and wellness and a holistic way of life. Does this sound familiar?

So, it seems that until the masses decide to include Ophiuchus as a star sign, the healers of the world may go unrecognised, even unto themselves. Perhaps they may prefer to remain anonymous rather than become an arch enemy of Scorpio, vying for position among the ranks, or stay out of the way of Sagittarian arrows, but if they do decide to stand up and be accounted for, we may all decide that the time for the world’s healers has arrived.

… My heart is as a geode, rock solid and rough cratered slate gray. It is impenetrable. A trickle of light is seeking a crevice, is meagerly attempting to find any small tributary that will lead beyond the hardcore surface of my shield. At a semi-conscious level, I know, with defensive pride, that the essence will be unable to complete its mission of lighting up my heart. “It is much too late to shed light on, or to lighten my load, or to shine on me,” my thoughts are lyrical as I begin to tease the trickle. It tries to surround me, coming at my center from multiple directions. Now there are tiny branches of white light reaching out as if a handful of shooting stars were trying to penetrate the relentless galaxy of darkness.

Building more granite against the taunting light, I continue to consciously resist.

I can see some tiny cracks. Infinitesimal bits of light peek through like a predawn sky faintly illuminating the innermost abyss, and my mind is somewhat curious as to what’s inside. The light show begins to slightly wane.

Momentarily, I let down my guard at its apparent retreat.

The smoking hue is now slowed to a gorgeous muted violet blue, a favorite flavor of this heart’s palate. I sigh at the beauty.

As I am busy breathing in the delicious prisms, I am tricked by an all out force of brilliant purple streaking darts, a light show that cracks through the fortress and explodes into semi-precious amethyst gems filling my geode innards. Inside is a splendor of luminosity unseen by usual filtered vision. At the center of the crystal cavern is my spirit, a trillion kilowatts bright. It is the whitest white, the lightest of blinding light. Face to face with my formless, Higher Power, the tide of universal love washes into every atom of my body. The force is the Goddess of my soul. She knows all, and loves all, and is all of my being. She has been waiting light years in her cocoon for this moment. Tears stream freely from the corners of my now seeing closed eyes, and I am humbled by the knowledge of the presence. There is not a feeling of sadness; it is not my feeling heart shedding tears. It is my logical intellect acknowledging the chronic sadness of the long fractured emotion. My reasoning, my thinking mind bridges the gap between the head and the heart. It sees, and feels, and thinks, and is one with loving emotion. As they meet, this snowy, inner Goddess of Light melts with me, merging her energies and mine. We become one. The tears are release, acceptance of all that is me.

In my heart cave a wee pure white butterfly begins sluggishly to move her long neglected wings. As if she is just waking from a very long nap in the cocoon, she stretches the stiff extensions forward then backward creating circulation of the unused flaps. Slowly, she warms up and the flapping increases. Little by little the novice moves and stretches, winding up like an antiquated biplane. Quicker, then a bit more, the speed accelerates, and her wings move freely, loosely. Now they are as the rapid beating fans of a turbo jet as she ferociously beats her wings to fly, to finally fly, as she knows she can, as she knows is her purpose. Her speed of movement forces brilliance of light and love into every aspect of the starved soul; there is little space for cobwebs of darkness in the extreme density of light.

~~~
The day following the healing, my friends and I extended our vacation and visited a sulfur hot springs site in Southern Utah. Natural bubbling ponds are rustically set among sky scraping cliffs and towering trees. Few tourists have discovered the secluded bathtubs in these sacred hills; the experience is reasonably private.
As I floated in the acrid womb of nature, my thoughts and eyes rose towards the blemish-less sky. Pulsating warmth wrapped around me as I floated, the soft heat relaxing me into a likeness of a limp rag doll.
“Anne,” I lazily murmured to my healer friend as she gazed at my mystical glow with a mother-like pride. “I am going to conjure up some eagles.”
Anne just smiled a maternal smile.
Looking high at the towering cliffs I determined where I would build my nest if I were an eagle. There, at the very upper most portion of the mountain was a ledge where I could visualize myself in my protected habitation. It was a vantage point where I could literally see for miles without being vulnerable to predators. I focused my attentions intently at that position hundreds of feet above.
Almost immediately, incredibly, and seemingly out of nowhere jetted two regal bald eagles. They soared high above the scenery, ignoring our human forms down below. Flying free and wild in a well choreographed dance they ceremoniously connected with each other and fell fast towards the ground, splitting apart at the last possible moment before hitting the earth, then skyrocketing once again up to their personal hide away.
Anne’s eyes bulged wide with wonderment. “I have never seen anything like that before in my entire life!” she exclaimed.
My heart swelled, as with tears in my eyes, I thanked the omnipresent essence for indulging my childish whim.
A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:
The true blessing of witnessing the innate universal power is attainable for all the masses of the cosmos. I am not a chosen one, or rather, we are all the chosen ones. We are all standing on equal ground when it comes to meeting our subjective spirits. It is the prayer of the universal energies that we each eventually greet and have a relationship with our respective souls. As tight buds grow into explosions of magnificent blossoms, so is the refulgent nature of the spirit yearning to bloom.
A look into the life of Edgar Cayce a gift healer or faker?
Edgar Cayce was born in Kentucky in 1877 on a small farm on March 18th, an unremarkable young boy who was to become the western worlds most renowned “Psychic Diagnostician”, as he in later life described himself. He could give medical descriptions and diagnoses of any physical or mental problem without even meeting the sufferer. Not that impressive except that he did all of this with out any medical training or background, while in a cataleptic state. He became known as “The sleeping prophet”2 for his many predictions also prophesied while in this deep trance state. The question is where and how could he have possibly gained this foresight? Was he a charlatan plain and simple or did he posses a true mystical gift?
Cayce in his early life had many acquaintances relating to the various medical arts. Could he have gained much of his medical knowledge from such acquaintances? Much of the more contemporary information could have been gained if he had a good memory, however he claimed to be unaware of any such things when not in trance. He was described on many occasions as being a very good judge of people, with an innate understanding of body signals, as would any fraudulent manipulator worth their weight. He came across as if he knew much more than he would say. But this wasn’t expressed in any arrogant form, rather in his relaxed content nature.
Through his many friends and acquaintances, from the early days upwards, in both conventional and at the time not so conventional medical practises he could have gained much of the knowledge he claimed to have no understanding of except when in a trance-like hypnotic state. However many of the cases he dealt with had already been described as “hopeless”. As in the case of C. H. Dietrch’s, a former superintendent of schools, six year old daughter. She had been ill for four years of her short life, becoming progressively worse, with seizures daily, as she was past along a string of doctors and specialists. None of who could be any help. She was finally diagnosed as a helpless case. There had only being nine similar cases even reported on record, stating that “she would die soon in one of these attacks.”
C. H. Dietrich was told of a young man with a gift for diagnosing patients with baffling life-threatening problems. So in desperation he contacted Edgar Cayce, who promptly made a “reading” of his daughter’s problem. He diagnosed her problem as “one of congestion at the base of the brain” and described out treatment for her. She hadn’t responded to any treatment for four years, by now she was having as many as twenty convulsions a day. Within eight days there was a marked change in her and within three months she was completely cured.
In his earlier years Edgar Cayce seemed to be an enigma within the realms of his local medical community who continually tested him to understand or disprove his claims for diagnosing people at a distance without ever meeting them. After all how can any one diagnose anybody without examining them? And how can they then suggest treatment without knowing what treatments are used to treat what ailments? Never the less some how Cayce, again and again, displayed impeccable knowledge of every medical discipline. He very rarely recommended operations, viewing them as vastly over used, more often recommending a more holistic approach. But if an operation were needed he would recommend this without hesitation.
The medical community of Cayce’s hometown were as you would expect not in the slightest as advanced as they are today. Being at the turn of the twentieth century medicine had only recently reappeared from the dark ages. People with medical problems serious or other wise had two choices in this backwater town in Kentucky, they either had treatment at home or at the physician’s office. Knowledge of other case studies were also much more scarce leaving doctors much to there own training. So if a disease hadn’t been diagnosed locally it was far less likely that in would be correctly diagnosed at all.
Famous lecturers such as Nikola Tesla, Thomas Edison and Elbert Hubbard all investigated Cayce’s so called talents; none could prove how his gift worked in a logical, scientific way. None claimed outright prove against these phenomena. Although it was claimed that Edison tried to record readings, which in some way seemed to “terminate the trance” the author never gives any reference point for verification of this. So whether this is true or not is unsure but what could it indicate if it is?
In his later life Cayce named several doctors from his hometown of bowling green who would consult him when all else had been tried, and failed. Some of the diseases he helped them diagnose included “appendicitis, typhoid fever, and poliomyelitis”.
After much persuasion he even turned his hand at crime solving for a sort while. There was a case in Canada of one of two sisters being shoot by a prowler. The other sister gave a clear description but they couldn’t track down the murderer, so put out a reward.
Cayce made a reading, describing both where the murder weapon was, under a “rain spout” in “the mud beside the house.”, and a full account of the murderer with her reasons for the crime. However on finding the weapon where Cayce had described the police contacted the Kentucky police to arrest him. Later under pressure the murderer he had talked of in his letter (the dead woman’s sister) finally confessed.
Yet these none medical endeavours seemed to have a draining affect on his psyche. This ended with him losing his ability altogether for nearly a full year, as he worked despondently. Until his gift was called upon as years before which first throw him into the limelight, with Dietrch’s young daughter.
The next few years were to be the busiest from a scientific study point of view as he had many renowned visitors come to judge, examine or disprove his abilities. Dr Hugo Munsterberg at the time a respected psychologist, highly critical of mediums judging most as charlatans offered Cayce some encouraging advise after hearing readings. He told him “not to be afraid to continue his readings”.
There are literally thousands of readings that Cayce carried out within his lifetime, prescribing “drugs and treatments that were said to be accurate in more than 90 percent of his cases”.
Many of the treatments he recommended were either unheard of or never before used. In one reading he gave “balsam of sulphur” was a cure, which was in no current dispensary catalogue. This was later found in a catalogue dating back fifty years and no longer in use. However it cured the patient.
However for even a malleable explanation the following quote sums up the whole conventional explanation of the scientific community, without completely debunking Cayce without any solid evidence as backup, “We don”t know what to think’.
So was his gift some form of faith healing? In his later life he insisted on people believing in the healing knowledge of god. This is more often than not described as a placebo effect, the person in affect curing their selves with their own positive attitude. This could explain much, but the question still remains how did he diagnose a person some times hundreds of miles away without ever meeting them and give a correct description of the problem in the first place?
We could look briefly into a more contemporary theory, which seems to be used to explain much of Cayce’s and other such gifts. Shamanism. Is a primitive form of healing or finding problems by travelling out side the body with the mind, in whatever form, to bring back a solution to the problem. This fits in very well with what Cayce actually does. But it doesn’t take us any nearer to the answers. Except to say that his Christian beliefs could relate him more closely to this strain of people than you would at first think. Many people now view Jesus as a shaman.
Some would describe his readings as some form of astral projection, others himself included as being able to access Akashic Records or “Universal memory of nature” and the “book of life”. This was a kind of record of everything a record of all experience and all knowledge. Some view this as a kind of cosmic resonance left in the ether from any action etc.
All that can be said for sure is that hundreds of people claim to have lived when doctors said they would die, all put the credit to the sleeping prophet.
The trek of the Imperial Healing Warrior of the first Emperor of China.
This legend comes from a lot of little known Chinese history and gives a little background information on some of the events of ancient times that now leads us to the discloser of many of it’s true long lost ancient secrets. The use of these extremely accurate ancient natural health evaluation and healing techniques were reserved only for royalty at the time.
The first Emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang is credited for a unified China. He was the King of Qin, one of many of the warring states. After conquering other kingdoms, he established himself as Emperor, to differentiate himself from kings. His interest in longevity attracted the ancient healing arts and is recorded to have lost his life at an age, just under a century old, by taking a longevity potion.
There is a likelihood that he was poisoned or tricked into thinking this was his “fountain of youth” remedy, because he was not well liked and was looked upon as an ancient “Adolf Hitler”, with only his prime minister as a trusted friend, who himself was a tyrant.
In his paranoia, as China appeared weaker to his enemies, in the eyes of Emperor Qin, he was fanatical about the strength of his new empire, so he wanted to make sure that these Royal Ancient Evaluation Techniques were shared with the people of China.
Even though the Emperor had a multitude of the best healing physicians, (Dr. Wu being the Grand Master) there were not enough to go about the entire country side to maintain a strong healthy China.
So he instructed the Grand Master to commission his physicians to publish all the ancient healing secret books to share with the people of China.
But he was cautioned by his cabinet that this plan had would not work, because if he did share these publications with the people of China, there was no guarantee that China’s enemies would not get a hold of these healing secrets.
His enemies could get a hold of these ancient healing secret books and become stronger than China.
And when they tried recruit apprentice Doctors to leave their families and go about the countryside evaluating, healing and making China strong, there were not enough interested parties in becoming doctors to leave their families behind to honor the Emperor’s request.
So he devised a plan where he would gather a multitude of peasants, farmers and many other lowly walks of life and ORDER them to take the healing secrets to evaluate, heal and keep the people of China strong.
These new reluctant apprentice doctors were also warned to guard the Emperor’s Doctor Book under penalty of death to include their families. They were counseled, that if their lives were lost in the defense of these secrets, their families would also be put to death.
The Emperor further ordered that they would get no pay from anyone that was sick and that any type of payment or donation should only be accepted from those that maintain their health. Which made a lot of sense since you couldn’t make money if you were sick, right?
That was intriguing for a westerner to note that the Chinese Doctors would be paid for maintaining you healthy, not sick.
To this day you can see locals of the orient offering donations to Monks, but when called to do healings or blessings there is no pay.
Chinese grammar at the time had no term for “healer”, the healer was called a “doctor”, translated into teacher in many cultures.
So as all these reluctant apprentice doctors forced into loyal obedience, went about the countryside, while they continue to maintain the ancient evaluation and healing secrets. Under penalty of death, of course!
They came to be known as Imperial Healing Warriors. They functioned much like the monks of the day and at times spent time in monasteries.
After Emperor Qin’s death, the emperors that followed slowly release their hold on these Imperial Healing Warriors. And little by little, these healing secrets started to be known around the world in a limited, but effective fashion.
It is recorded that succeeding Emperors would have suspicions about these secrets being shared with monks and there were some monasteries that were destroyed because of these suspicions.
When the Ancient Apprentices were first drafted into service, they were all given a small book called the Emperor’s Doctor Book.
As you may imagine, when he commissioned his physicians to publish these healing secrets, it turned out to be actually volumes. This initial small book contained a condense version of only the evaluation techniques, which pointed out or referred to other volumes. So, they were known to carry 2 or three of these volumes with their small book.
These Imperial Healing Warriors would often be seen reading up on hills with a good vantage point or in monasteries hidden from would be attackers.
On a few occasions some Imperial Healing Warriors were attacked by common criminals. But the secrets were never in jeopardy, since they were not foreigners as the Emperor’s paranoia perceived.
The Emperor’s protection plan of these secrets and his Ancient Apprentices included them caring a goat bag that contained a type of acid of the time that would dissolve the ink. They could either place the publication in the bag or pour it over the books.
During these attacks the Emperor sent soldiers but of course the attackers were no longer there. But it also served to deliver new volumes to the apprentices.
The Imperial Healing Warriors would be approached for healing by being searched out and would often be found in deep study.
Many times when seekers would go to monasteries they would be directed to where the secret Imperial Healing Warriors would be.
As time went on and the successors to the Emperor Throne came and went, the Imperial Healing Warriors were slowly, unofficially released from service and started sharing the first Emperor’s healing modalities.
Acupuncture and Reflexology are only a few of these shared secrets. But even these in and of themselves have more uses than is known by the average practitioner.
What are these secrets in the Emperor’s Doctor Book?
You may have heard of some of these, just to name a few;
Facial Analysis, Tongue Analysis, Eye Analysis, Nail Analysis, Ear Analysis, Hand/Foot Analysis, Chanting(affirming), Humming (frequency) Energy Healing and Chakra healing, etc.!
The Imperial Healing Warriors now have apprentices all over the world.
