On the 27th of February I wrote an article on the attack on a train carrying some Hindu pilgrims returning home after they had visited Avodhya, the location of their pilgrimage. As a result of the attack 59 of those travelling on the train were killed after their carriage was deliberately set on fire.

The Godhra Train Incident occurred in 2002 when Hindus returning from a pilgrimage to Avodhya were burnt to death when the sleeper carriage in which they were travelling was set on fire by a group of Muslims at Godhra, Gujarat, India. 59 of the passengers on the train were killed in this incident of racial violence.
